00:00So obviously the first year we were finding the right balance in terms of players and roles allotted to them.
00:09And I think, you know, we've settled in quite nicely.
00:14Brandon and John are at the top of the inning.
00:16They've probably been our best opening pair in a long time.
00:22A lot has happened in order to bring the team to a settled position.
00:25And the work, especially with the batters, Floyd Riefer, and the preparation that we've put in over the years,
00:32you know, led us to, you know, coming to Bangladesh where we know spin has been something that's bothered us
00:39in the past.
00:40And to put out a display, especially chasing a tricky total like that in the second innings,
00:45the way the guys played, we just want them to continue.
00:48The St. Lucian describes the start of his tenure as head coach as a baptism of fire
00:53with test series against Australia, India, and New Zealand.
00:56But after enduring that baptism, he points to signs of progress they have made in this test cycle.
01:02Since 1994, we've not finished.
01:05We've not finished a calendar year without losing a series.
01:09In 1994, Shanda Paul was making his debut.
01:12You know, so little things like that that the team can't, well, we already achieved that
01:17because we can't lose the series.
01:20It is, it's progress.
01:23And you've heard me say it all the time, what success means for this group of guys
01:28and what we've been through and the challenges we face
01:32and what we have to do in spite of all those challenges.
01:35And while the West Indies are guaranteed to end the year without a test series defeat,
01:39thanks to success in the first test,
01:41Sami expects a reaction from Bangladesh but remains confident they can complete the sweep.
01:47We wanted to finish, we wanted to come here 2-0
01:52and we have put ourselves in a position to do that.
01:56And like I said, knowing Bangladesh, knowing, feel the way he operates,
02:01he's going to come out for blood, you know,
02:04and we don't expect it to be anything easy.
02:07But the preparation we've put in, we know we could counteract and come out victorious.
