00:02Spoil your cat. Spoil your cat. I heard you. How could I not? The lion's sneaking up. He's making
00:16sure that he marks every single tree. He gets the opportunity to mark on.
00:30Are they not having fun? I dare anyone to tell me that these three lions are not having fun.
00:36Move back boy. Move. And you.
00:45Okay. Daka, you can come back. Hello, my girlies. Hello, my girlie. Hello, boy. Hello, my boy.
00:52We are going to be taking Siam, Echo and Naobi for a walk. And everyone is really excited about it.
01:02It's been long overdue. These guys haven't walked for a while. So really, really happy
01:08to be taking these guys. They always load so well. They're always such well-behaved lions.
01:13Especially this boy. Yes, he is a good boy. He's a good boy. Hey, big boy. He's a good boy.
01:21Hey. In you go. One. Go on. Go on. In you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
01:37Okay. Okay. Good one. There we go, big boy. Well done. There we go. Yeah. Sammy. There we go.
01:59Someone's got their big butt on the gate. Get your big butt off that gate. Thank you.
02:09Okay. Okay. Thanks, Daka.
02:17Always quite easy to load, but you've got to load them in a specific order.
02:22If Siam gets in first, then there's no ways we're going to get the girls in.
02:31All right. So we're here where we're going to be walking. And I think they are really,
02:38really excited to get cracking with their walk. Siam hasn't walked for a while. So I'm very
02:43interested to see what he gets up to. Ready? Two, three. Woohoo. Free. Free. So good to be out and
02:55about,
02:57come, no beer.
02:59Yeah.
03:02Yeah.
03:07Yeah.
03:15Yeah.
03:21Yeah.
03:22Here we go.
04:00Okay, so Simon's found his first exciting smell that he's rubbing and rolling, getting
04:08all euphoric, acting on all those dopamine receptors, but he's hearing all the other
04:15lines roaring, so he's caught between what to do. Do I sit and sniff, or do I go and investigate
04:22the roars? Hmm, I think I'll just rub the smell all over my face. The interesting thing is
04:31that last night there was a huge amount of rain, and so as you can imagine, some of the
04:39smells are washed away, but some of them are actually more concentrated. Look at him having
04:44a good time. And he's off. Marking his territory, being a lion.
05:04And then, basically going from tree to tree. Right here. And then, I'm going from tree to
05:34grabbing, mocking, enjoying.
05:38Riding.
05:39Riding.
05:40Let's go.
06:10Let's go.
07:05Let's go.
07:31Let's go.
07:53Let's go.
07:58Let's go.
08:00Let's go.
08:00Let's go.
08:01Let's go.
08:03Let's go.
08:03Let's go.
08:05Let's go.
08:06Let's go.
08:13Let's go.
08:15Let's go.
08:37Let's go.
08:46Let's go.
08:51Let's go.
09:05Let's go.
09:07Let's go.
09:20Let's go.
09:22Let's go.
09:35Let's go.
09:38Let's go.
09:39Let's go.
09:48Let's go.
09:50Let's go.
09:56Let's go.
10:03Let's go.
10:08Let's go.
10:11Let's go.
10:12Let's go.
10:13Let's go.
10:15somewhere lie under a tree or just walk away in an opposite direction they can
10:22and in fact that's what's not I keep on calling a Niobe that's because it's
10:29Niobe is normally the one that's quite fun loving and boisterous but today it
10:34seems to be Echo. Echo is in a really good mood so yeah she seems to be
10:40spending a bit of time on her own which is great happy days happy cats
10:53really having a good time eh who's having a good time Sam here oh yeah Sam
11:01look what I got look what I got for you boy check you not interested huh
11:09there's better smells in the bush today
11:20yeah Sam here
11:25spoil your cat spoil your cat
11:28spoil your cat
11:29ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
11:58fuh
12:00Let's go.
12:33There's middens, sensory overload.
12:55He's making sure that he marks every single tree he gets the opportunity to mark on.
13:32There's middens, sensory overload.
13:53There's middens, sensory overload.
13:58There's middens, sensory overload.
14:18There's middens, sensory overload.
14:49There's middens, sensory overload.
14:50hard to keep up with him really working me there we go some more some more smells yeah oh boy
15:16i think sime's having a sensory overload
15:37all right so now sime's decided that he's going to go off on his own
15:41and leave the girls to their own devices sime's a really interesting cat i know i have done it on
15:47a segment on sime echo and obi and meet the characters which is also a series that i did
15:56and still got to complete on line whisperer tv so if you want to go and check out the kind
16:03of cat
16:04that siam is if this is the first time that you're watching this kind of video at the end of
16:10the video
16:11there will be a playlist and you can just look for the series meet the characters and click on that
16:17i
16:17think you'll find that really really interesting if you have enjoyed this video and just feeling super
16:26duper relaxed just following these lines and seeing what they get up to sometimes it's just better if
16:33i keep quiet and we just listen to the natural sounds of the bush i think there's something
16:39therapeutic in that don't we say to people um in fact trying to start a bit of a movement
16:46of get outdoors and uh you know stop with the technology um so yeah reconnect with nature
16:55it's a therapeutic it's invigorating you never it's it's kind of like exercise sometimes just to make
17:02the effort to get there and do it is uh is quite difficult but once you've done it you never
17:07regret it
17:28so
17:43um
17:59I don't know.
18:37I don't know.
18:54He's really scratching around in the dirt trying to get that smell all over him.
19:06I think I should have been using Siam for sense and sensibilities.
19:15Hey, big boy.
19:40Happy cat.
19:51Who's having a good time?
19:52Are you having a good time?
19:54Hey?
19:55No, B?
19:57Hey?
19:58Hey?
19:58Are you having a good time?
20:00Hey?
20:01Tell me.
20:02Talk to me.
20:05What do you smell?
20:07Hey?
20:09What do you smell?
20:10Oh!
20:15Hello, my gully.
20:16Hello, my gully.
20:19Come, we've still got the other half to explore.
20:21Let's go.
20:21Let's go.
20:22Let's go this way.
20:23Come on, girls.
20:24Let's go.
20:25Let's go.
20:25Let's go.
20:28Let's go.
20:54Let's go.
20:55Let's go.
20:58Let's go.
20:59Let's go.
21:00Let's go.
21:00Let's go.
21:01Let's go.
21:10Come, Gilly.
21:16yeah sometimes they listen not often
21:24also what happens is after the rains we have this um this heat and this excessive humidity
21:33and it does take it out of you it's really really taxing on the body so
21:38i can tell you i'm um boiling hot it's about what's the time half past nine
21:48um and it is relatively hot so
21:54get off the lens
22:21right so approaching the ah
22:24thorn bush approaching the dam i don't expect it to have too much water
22:30yeah it doesn't have water because the water that we have been getting
22:39is just rainfall so yeah there's the dam wall
22:46and if you look there would be water water water water water water water water water
22:52water all the way up there and that would be quite a beautiful
22:58um course of water which i can't actually wait for it to get some in it's going to be really
23:03really
23:04pretty
23:05uh so it's not the rain water that fills these
23:12catchment areas it's actually either uh runoff water where you have this flash flooding
23:19uh nowadays um but typically it it is the um it is the ground water that starts to
23:30increase and then starts to flow and then starts to come down these channels and fill up
23:37up these dams um it would take a lot of rain um to to fill up a dam like this
23:43so we're way off but it's possible there is more rain forecast
23:49and there's certainly rain forecast for uh later the summer and apparently it's going to be
23:57a good rainfall later on in the summer this is what they say i'm not the expert so we'll have
24:06to wait and see
24:08but here i would be in the middle of the dam and it would be pretty cool i would be
24:13underwater
24:15because that's the edge so this would be really really amazing if i was here in this dam underwater
24:24being able to swim around here come the lions
24:34sure
24:39where on earth did this come from
24:44glass jar
24:49i always say to people this farm
24:54tends to grow things
24:57it tends to grow
25:00quite a pretty pretty jar i think i'm going to keep it
25:07i heard you how could i not line sneaking up having fun
25:19pretty shot
25:21i've not it'd be
25:31yeah
25:32yeah
25:33yeah come
25:34come on
25:36come down
25:37come jump you can jump from there
25:40you can jump from there come on
25:42come really hey don't be chicken
25:45don't be chicken oh really are acting like an old granny
25:51come
25:53you're gonna jump from there
25:55that's not even a jump
25:56that's not even a jump come on you're walking down
26:00oh my gosh
26:04why don't you just stroll into the dam
26:07hey
26:09you're terrible
26:12you're terrible
26:19all right so
26:21echo is cooling off
26:23in the shade in the coolness of the
26:26muddy ground i think i'm going to come join her take a break
26:30gather our thoughts
26:31just chill
26:32it's quite nice to just chill here actually
26:35maybe uh
26:37maybe mr big will come and join us
26:41yeah find a nice soft spot
26:44she's busy
26:46licking old lanterns
26:52yeah
26:55another reason why
26:57we need to be so careful
26:59what we leave behind in the bush
27:02because
27:03anything that's not natural
27:06the animals have an inclination to
27:09explore it and
27:11you know touch it and taste it
27:13and
27:14certainly if we're leaving stuff like plastic around
27:18weirdly enough
27:21they're attracted to it and they want to chew on it
27:25and plastic can cause
27:27intestinal obstructions and stomach obstructions
27:30and it could be death sentences
27:33or can spell death sentences to many animals
27:35so
27:36another reason why we need to be very
27:39conscious of what we leave behind when we
27:42venture into the bush
27:45let's listen to this for a moment
27:51hmm
27:52hmm
27:56hmm
27:59hmm
28:01hmm
28:02hmm
28:03hmm
28:03hmm
28:21Oh, hello girl.
28:25Oh, that's so funny.
28:29Oh, dee da, which is also, it's an ibis, it's a bird, flew over and it cast this big
28:36shadow on the ground.
28:38I hope you've got such a fright.
28:41Oh, my girl, there's nothing wrong with your vision, hey?
28:43Sure.
28:45Nothing wrong, a bit contrasty here, but nonetheless, it's a peaceful place.
28:50All we need now is for Siam to come join us.
28:57What's really interesting as well is that we like to believe that the behavior of a captive
29:04bred lion would be different to that of a wild lion, but, you know, wild lions love to
29:11use dry riverbeds to walk through.
29:15It makes excellent reasons as to why, because the ground's nice and soft, and often at this
29:22time of the day, these big trees along the river courses, and they cast nice shadows,
29:29and the ground is nice and cool, so it's a wonderful place to be, so just another tip
29:36for when you're walking through the bush, if ever, and you decide that the water course
29:42or the dry riverbed is the place to be, just be aware that you will most likely bump into
29:48all sorts of different animals.
29:50Leopards love to navigate the dry riverbeds, and so do lions, so you might just very well
29:57bump into a big cat.
30:15Leopards love to walk through the thorn bushes and shorts.
30:21Love that tree.
30:23It's a tree that was struck by lightning many, many years back.
30:28It's just such a beautiful, such a beautiful specimen.
30:36Pity, but it's really pretty, even in, even in death, that tree is an incredible thing.
30:44And it stood there, nice and proud and strong for many, many years, since actually we've
30:54moved here.
30:54So, quite a, quite a landmark.
30:57All right, so I'm trying to find Siam, I haven't seen him for a bit, um, apparently he's down
31:05the mountain this way.
31:06So, Siam is still walking around, he's enjoying time out on his own, so I think Siam is actually
31:21going to go and try and find some water now.
31:24Hey boy.
31:27So, I think we're going to just leave it there.
31:34So guys, if you enjoyed this video, um, as much as I did making it, and you'd like to
