Kevin Richardson takes a relaxed walk with two older lionesses, Ekko and Naobi, and shares a gentle update on their health, personalities, and bond within the pride. Naobi’s story is especially moving: after severe glaucoma and the removal of one eye, she later regained vision in the other, and now, in old age, she still shows her playful, mischievous side. Ekko is described as the more serious sister, while Naobi keeps things lively with pranks, stalking games, and little charging dances.

The walk has a calm, affectionate feel, with Kevin noting how well the lions behaved and how much he enjoys these chilled moments with them. Along the way he also speaks about pride structure, older lions, and how living together helps them navigate challenges. It is part wildlife commentary, part sanctuary walk, and part close-up lion encounter, with a strong focus on conservation, animal care, and the personalities of big cats.

Created for viewers searching for relaxing wildlife videos, lion sanctuary content, big cat walks, animal behavior commentary, and calm nature footage. It also fits searches for wildlife documentary style videos, lion pride updates, and soothing animal content for background viewing.

00:00Hello my gorgeous.
00:03Alright, good morning everyone. So today I'm going to be taking Eko and Naobi out for a walk.
00:09In three, two, one, let's go!
00:20A little catch up with Naobi and Eko, both doing extremely well. I mean,
00:24for old ladies, sure, I think they're 19 now, could be coming on 20.
00:49Naobi in all her glory.
00:54Naobi is so recognizable by the lack of one eye. She had, for those of you who don't know,
01:04severe glaucoma and unfortunately her left eye had to be removed.
01:11And then just to recap on what an amazing story it was, because when she had the glaucoma on the
01:17left eye, she actually had a bad cataract on the right eye. And for a period of time,
01:23poor old Naobi was actually completely blind and she used to rely heavily on Siam and
01:31on Eko for her navigation. And she used to actually do that very well, which just shows
01:38that lion prides, you know, really, well, it really helps to live in a pride structure.
01:44You know, if you were a solitary animal, if you were a leopard, for example, you would have a hard
01:52time surviving with being blind because how would you hunt? Whereas a lioness, if she can navigate
02:00with the pride, she can live off the pride for a while. Miracles do happen. So once the surgery was
02:10done on the left eye, the left eye was removed, I started to notice that Naobi started to see
02:17certain movements where she hadn't responded before. She was starting to actually respond to my movements.
02:24And then I realized that the cataract was actually resorbing and that was a miracle on its own.
02:32So the cataract resorbed, she regained full vision in her right eye and she could see again.
02:39So she was a happy cat, but as she's got older guys, now it's just a vision thing.
02:46So old age vision. So yeah, eyes have never been Naobi's strong point, but she makes up for it in
02:57so
02:57many other ways because this must be one of the most fun, outgoing lions I've ever met.
03:04She, even at this ripe old age, she is always keen to play a prank on you.
03:13She will be hiding behind a bush or she will charge up at you and then do this funny little
03:19dance.
03:19She did it this morning. She scratches the ground and she, you know, she plays like this,
03:24this stalking game. It's really, really cute. But yeah, what a wonderful, wonderful animal. Her sister,
03:31Echo, is the more serious of the two. Yeah, what do you say? Is Echo the most serious of the
03:39two?
03:39Yeah, definitely. Yeah, the characters in these lions is incredible.
03:46Are you calling for your sister? She's asking where, where is my sister?
03:52Where are you moaning, moaning, moaning? Well, you'd know better than I would.
03:57Looking at things, I can see my, my face in the camera.
04:02And I noticed my lion print top. And actually, let me just move my glasses so you can see it
04:10properly.
04:13Actually, this hoodie is a firm favorite of, of you guys. And actually, somebody was asking me
04:21where they can buy it. They liked, they saw it in another video, in a previous video,
04:26and they asked me on my Instagram where they can get it. And so yeah, guys, if you're interested,
04:30this is part of my merch range. It's a company I work with called T-Mill. Very
04:38key to their mantra is sustainability, circular economy. Go and check it out. I'm not going to
04:45waffle on about it, but they're a really good company made to order. So there's no wastage.
04:49We don't have landfill due to unwanted textiles. And I particularly love this lion,
04:59lion, lion print. And there's also a lioness, which is also a firm favorite in a hoodie,
05:05in a tee, whatever. So go and check it out. T-Mill. We'll leave the link below.
05:15Oh, hyena had to do that. A little giggle gets her going.
05:23Part of their fun, guys, is just
05:27getting up close with the hyenas and then teasing them. And then they move off. They'll go and say,
05:33how's it to the lions? And that's kind of like a walk goes, you know, they go to all the
05:40middle area, the dam, the river, beautiful section. They get that out their system,
05:46then they come cause trouble.
05:50You can just see with Niobe the way she's starting to walk flat-footed.
05:55And that's typically what happens with the older lions. They start to lose
06:03the tendon integrity. You can see there those feet go flat.
06:09All right, guys. So while Niobe and I are waiting for Echo to catch up,
06:18I'd just like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all the members and Pride
06:23leaders out there. Pride leaders being the next tier of members. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
06:29It's truly because of you guys that we can continue to bring the free content to the core channel.
06:36But so your core core channel subscribers must say a word of thanks to the to the members
06:43and Pride leaders. And if you want to go and check it out, we'll leave the link below. But
06:47yeah, membership is not just about supporting me and the channel and my work. They also get
06:55privileges, special little emojis and wonderful exclusive members-only content,
07:01which includes behind the scenes videos. So you get to see things that other people don't normally
07:05get to see. And you also get a line of a direct line of communication because obviously when when
07:12my team sees the poor, they're obviously going to try and reach out to those people or respond to those
07:19comments. All right, where is your sister? Very lazy today, hey? Very, very lazy.
07:40Hello, my gorgeous.
08:03Hi, my gorgeous.
08:27You girls are very well behaved today. I'm very proud of you.
08:30Girls are super well behaved today. Super proud of both of them.
08:35And yeah, they'll definitely go walking again if they behave like that.
08:41What a pleasure.
08:44When the lions just walk well and do everything like what you expect.
08:53Even at that age, I'm super impressed.
08:58Just such a chilled mood today. Everyone's in a chilled mood and everything goes so well.
09:05Awesome.
09:24And I'll see you next time.
09:26Bye.
09:31Bye.
09:35Bye.
09:37Bye.
