Come for a windy enrichment walk with rescued lion brothers George and Yame as Kevin Richardson takes them out across the bush for a calm, playful outing. The boys split up, explore at their own pace, mark the bushes, roll around, and keep the walk lively while the weather keeps turning blustery and cold. Along the way, Kevin follows their lead, navigates the rough ground, and gives them space to enjoy the moment like the big cats they are.

The walk becomes a quiet reminder of why enrichment matters for captive lions: movement, fresh air, mental stimulation, and the chance to stretch, roam, and behave naturally. George’s determined gait and Yame’s easy confidence make the whole journey feel both beautiful and deeply personal, especially as they head home through the thicket and back toward their enclosure. It is a gentle wildlife walk, lion sanctuary moment, and animal care story all in one.

For viewers searching for lion walks, rescued lions, wildlife sanctuary content, Kevin Richardson, big cat enrichment, and peaceful nature footage, this is a strong fit. It also suits anyone interested in animal behaviour, captive lion welfare, bush walks, and calming animal videos with a natural, observational feel.

00:00Stunning shot. Georgie!
00:09I'm so very proud of Georgie Nyame. Yeah, today I thought I would go on a walk with
00:19Georgie Nyame. Hello boys and girls. I promise you your turn's next. Georgie Nyame waiting
00:26to go for a walk. Okay, off you go. Hello, boy. Hello, my boy. Hello, boy. Oh, oh, oh, oh,
00:39oh. Hello, my boy.
00:46Very friendly today, Mr. Yum Yum.
00:52Okay, very windy. Very windy, very cool. And they're heading off on their separate ways.
01:03Just give them a little bit of space for the first part of the walk, just to find their feet.
01:09Yum is doing exactly what a lion should be doing. He's kind of marking the bushes. And
01:16Georgie I think has gone straight away to find something to roll in. So, oh, this wind. Sorry,
01:25guys. Forgive me about the wind. This is freezing gale force winds. There he is marking. What a beautiful picture.
01:39Hello, my boy. Oh, oh, oh. Talking, talking, talking.
01:46Is that my good boy? Oh. Yeah, young. Yeah, youngie.
01:55Oh.
01:59Hello, Georgie.
02:05Just the interesting thing is, is that they don't venture too far, the two boys. Lazy one and lazy two.
02:14Oh. Let's go, boys.
02:41Oh.
02:54Good to see them out walking again.
03:01Such a beautiful lion, both of them. Yame is a really impressive cat. Stunning shot.
03:32Hey big boy, hello boy, hello boy.
03:57It's a wonderful thing to see because that is a happy lion. That's what we want to see,
04:02happy lions. Especially the fact that these lions have to live their lives in captivity.
04:08We want them to live the best possible lives. Hello boy, hello my boy.
04:25It's actually quite nice in the sun. Yeah, Georgie, bless you.
04:36So if this wind would actually stop blowing, it's actually quite pleasant in the sun.
04:47Happy spring day, Georgie and Yame.
04:54Happy spring.
04:55Happy spring.
04:58Oh.
05:05Look at them playing there.
05:21Oh.
05:32Hello boy.
05:33Happy spring day.
05:47Here.
06:15Happy spring day.
06:19Oh. Come big boy.
06:37Georgie.
06:41Oh, whoa, whoa.
06:49Whoa.
06:49Ha, ha, ha.
07:06Oh, whoa, whoa.
07:11Oh, whoa.
07:18Oh, whoa, whoa.
07:48What we're trying to achieve. Just trying to go on a nice peaceful walk and just enjoy the moment with
07:56these two beautiful cats.
07:57So, yeah.
08:00That's what walking's about in Richmond. Let them do what they want to do and sometimes just say nothing.
08:06Okay.
08:35Come on, Georgie.
08:36Okay. Let's go, boy.
08:39Come.
08:40Oh.
08:42Yum, yum.
08:44Oh.
08:46Come, boy.
08:48Keep, keep.
08:48Keep.
08:57The weather's really grim.
09:14Oh, whoa, whoa.
09:17Oh, whoa, whoa.
09:18Oh, whoa, whoa.
09:19This wind is highly annoying.
09:31This wind is highly annoying.
09:42Oh, whoa, whoa.
09:47Right.
09:48So, they really are enjoying their walk today, despite the windy conditions.
09:53But look, the lions prefer to cruise around in the cooler conditions.
09:58so um don't blame them uh wanna head off that way though so i'm trying to convince them that
10:08this is a good idea but they're not having anything of it so if you can't beat them join them
10:24cross country lines
10:28running in the fields
10:58oh and the wind's picking up again air temperatures dropped again so
11:04just when i thought it was going to warm up
11:08and no
11:11George really is having an absolute blast today
11:17and yummy too that's really cool to see
11:40okay they are definitely making me get my steps in today so yeah thanks boys
12:00George he's a lunatic
12:03George is so crazy oh thank goodness i rode
12:09all right easier to walk on roads come boy come georgie georgie
12:39okay
12:41so they have now split up. George is heading towards the lions on that side
12:51he's heard a few of them and he wants to go and investigate and Yamae is just
12:59happy to walk roads as Yamae. Hello Yamae boy. Hello big boy. Hello big boy.
13:27Look at that walk. We could recognize that walk a mile away. Yeah and if we are tracking
13:35George in the bush we would know it's George because the hind paws face outwards and that's
13:47because of the collapsed calcaneus and the slackened Achilles tendon and you can see the
13:55way he compensates. But boy oh boy does this guy fight along. I always say to people who
14:09are complaining why can't you be more like George. George never complains he just gets
14:15on with it. If anyone has a reason to complain it's George. No siree. George just gets on
14:27with it without a complaint. He is an amazing inspiration. Inspirational cat. Yamae waiting
14:44for us for us. What a good boy.
15:10Come. Go.
15:15Okay so we're making our way back. Bundu bashing. Taking a bit of a shortcut. Come boy.
15:22And you know hopefully they don't get
15:27that tired that they decide they're going to plonk their butts down and take a rest.
15:31So far so good. The weather's still playing ball. It's nice and cool. Maybe you want to take us another
15:38way. Georgie. Which way do you want to go? Come. I think we go that way. Eh? No. You want
15:47to go that way? Okay.
15:50I'll follow you. As long as you don't make me bundu bash. Which is what you're going to make me
15:55do.
15:56Hey. Come yam. Hello big boy. Did you have some fun? Eh? Did you have some fun?
16:12All right. All right. I think we just head through here boys. Straight through there.
16:27And up. Oh my boy. You fell in the hole.
16:37You fell in the hole. Eh? You fell in the hole. Okay. Up there. Up the hill. Let's go.
16:48Oh, oh, oh, oh. That way. That's a good boy. Okay, go. Follow thy leader. There we go.
17:03Just don't fall in any more holes. It's not that hard.
17:08Oh, oh. 4x4ing. 4x4ing. Up the hill. Around the corner. Almost there boys.
17:19Been a nice long walk. Eh? We need to do this a lot more often.
17:29Oh, those of black jacks. Yummy. Are you taking us in a real
17:36horrible, horrible direction?
17:45I think this way is the better way.
17:52Or not. Maybe we can get through there. Or here. Here we go.
18:01I think here's the better way.
18:04Taking us through a real ticket.
18:13Come, boys.
18:30Surprise, surprise.
18:35I've decided to follow Kev.
18:41Look at you. You're full of black jacks.
18:50Oh, Georgie.
18:55You're full of black jacks and I'm full of black jacks.
19:01It is fun walking through the bush.
19:06All right, we're almost there.
19:13Yeah.
19:20Okay. A little bit of reprieve.
19:26We're going to come here. Aha! Home sweet home, boys.
19:36Come, boys.
19:37Come, boys.
19:40Try and get onto the
19:44flat stuff.
19:46And here is their enclosure.
19:49But we're going to have to walk all the way around.
19:54And this is a big enclosure.
19:58So, bear with us.
20:03Okay.
20:04I think they know that it's home time.
20:11That's good boys.
20:14What good boys.
20:15I'm so very proud of Georgie and Yame.
20:19I cannot tell you.
20:21This has been an incredible walk on so many levels.
20:26These walks are not only important for my well-being.
20:31They're important for their well-being.
20:35They thoroughly enjoy them.
20:37As do I.
20:40But, what's more important is that,
20:43just from a...
20:44Oh, this wind's blowing again.
20:46Just from a mental health perspective,
20:49as well as a physical health perspective.
20:51Just getting fitter.
20:53Healthy body, healthy mind.
20:54And it applies to lions as well.
20:58You know, to have lions being lazy and sedentary.
21:03At a sanctuary or a zoo.
21:06Where they don't get the ability to run around and get much exercise.
21:11It really does play a toll on their health.
21:15So, yeah.
21:16Very blessed to have this area that we can go and walk.
21:22And just let them spread their wings.
21:25Very blessed to have this.
21:26And also very blessed.
21:28And I will re-emphasize the fact that
21:32I'm blessed to have this relationship with these lions.
21:34But it's not something that I recommend to the public out there.
21:39Yes, this is cool.
21:40Go and get a lion.
21:41The complications in keeping captive lions is so severe.
21:48It really, it even sometimes boggles my mind.
21:58And the realization thus is that
22:02these animals really shouldn't be kept in captivity.
22:05That's the honest truth.
22:08Yami is not fooled by my fake,
22:21my fake meat.
22:22Come on, boys.
22:23Come.
22:23Let's go.
22:24Come.
22:25Come.
22:26Don't want to go back home.
22:30This is your home, boys.
22:31Come.
22:32Okay, Yami's been a good boy.
22:34George has been a naughty boy.
22:35Come, boy.
22:36There we go.
22:39Come, boys.
22:40Georgie.

22:52You want some?

23:00Give him some catnip.
23:11Here, boy.
23:12There we go.
23:13Lick it.
23:14Here.
23:15Lick.
23:16There we go.
23:19Don't bite.
23:20Lick.

23:29Now, the trick is to get him from that side to this side.
23:34Come, boy.
23:37Yeah.
23:38Yeah.
23:39Yeah.
23:40Yeah.

23:47Yeah.
23:51Come, boys.
23:53This is the hard part.
23:55Getting lions in that don't have...
23:59I don't have any meat.
24:01You know?
24:01Yeah.
24:01Yeah.
24:02Yeah.
24:02Yeah.
24:03Yeah.
24:03Yeah.
