00:00:01you can't judge me only god can judge me remember the bible says judge not lest you be judged
00:00:10that's the common interpretation that most people have and truthfully enough that's what the bible
00:00:15says if you take one short little snippet out of context but does the bible prohibit judging
00:00:22full-scale blanket prohibition no judging whatsoever well no not really in fact it talks
00:00:31about several different people being called a judge and judging in various different contexts
00:00:37and it goes so far the bible itself goes so far as to not only command us to judge but
00:00:44it guides us
00:00:45and trains us and teaches us how to judge all of that coming up in this particular video on the
00:00:53god honest truth channel we are now about to learn the god honest truth about judging
00:01:17but anyways this draw usher this teaching is going to be all about the subject of judging as it comes
00:01:22from scripture the correct way of interpreting it and learning from it and knowing about it
00:01:27from scripture itself instead of just what some talking head or a preacher says we're going to
00:01:31bring you all the information we're going to bring you all the scriptures that go along with it
00:01:35or the vast majority of them anyway make sure to definitely stay tuned for the information coming
00:01:40up and like always we can't present every single thing regarding the subject some of the stuff we
00:01:45don't know some of the stuff we just cut out for the sake of brevity so if you want even
00:01:49more
00:01:50information than what we present in these particular slides make sure to go to our website at
00:01:55godhonesttruth.com click on the post for this particular episode and there on that article post you'll

00:02:04screen you'll also be able to find the ai research monograph reports that we had generated for this
00:02:10particular subject and you'll also be able to find the notes that we personally took and made
00:02:15available to you all right there on that particular article post now the best way to get there is go
00:02:21down below in the description and click on the convenient link that we provided for you down there
00:02:25and that'll take you directly to the article post on our website all very very convenient and that
00:02:31description i'm sorry that link in the description should be down there whether you're watching on a
00:02:35video platform or an audio podcasting platform it'll still be down there all the same so you've probably
00:02:42heard certain things about judging all your life you may have heard one thing or another but probably
00:02:49the most common thing that you've probably heard and most people probably heard when it comes to
00:02:53judging is the quote from the book of matthew something you've probably heard ad nauseum actually
00:02:59this comes from matthew chapter 7 verse 1 and this is how it's commonly quoted and they say
00:03:06do not judge lest you be judged and they leave it there now for a prudent student of the word
00:03:17word you
00:03:18should automatically have something jump out at you right there okay that is very very short and the
00:03:24bible is very very big even the book of matthew is very very big very short snippet that should
00:03:29automatically start setting off red flags in your mind about possibly being taken out of context but
00:03:35regardless this is the what most people quote and put out there a lot of the times and
00:03:42more often than not it's used as a method of weaponization during modern day discussions
00:03:49nowadays and it's usually quoted out of context like i said before it's usually quoted out of context
00:03:55in order to shut down any form of accountability or even moral discussion because nowadays people don't
00:04:01really want to have a discussion about morality especially around where i live probably you
00:04:06probably know places like that as well so a more i guess you could say summary or translation or more
00:04:14modern rendition of this particular section of text that's been quoted from matthew chapter 7
00:04:21is this someone might say something like don't judge me only god can judge me
00:04:30and in translation they don't actually mean that what they actually mean what they're actually trying
00:04:36to say is don't judge me don't make me feel conviction just let me sin in peace that's basically
00:04:44what they're saying in a nutshell so the um basis or the background to this the reality behind this
00:04:51particular phrase when they put it out there like they do most times is it's rarely a theological appeal
00:04:57to like sovereignty or uh theological appeal to scripture or the correct form of judgment they're just saying
00:05:05leave me alone i want to do what i want to do without any accountability to anyone that's basically what
00:05:11they are saying there they will be left alone to their unrepentant state and their unrepentant life
00:05:17that they're currently living in so when we talk about all this judging stuff and they say well only god
00:05:23can judge me or you know the bible says don't judge lest you be judged what does this whole thing
00:05:29about
00:05:29judging actually mean what is judging anyway let's look at a secular definition to see if we can at least
00:05:38get a start on figuring out what exactly judging is this is going to come from the website called
00:05:45dictionary.com pretty on the nose website name it looks like anyways there are multiple entries and
00:05:53multiple sentences in which this can be taken so there's a certain range as to what judging can mean
00:05:59now that's important too as we go forward because even when we look in the bible we're going to see
00:06:04different contexts or the meaning of the word judge or judging but the ones that are relevant here from
00:06:11this dictionary.com entry for judge we look at number eight it says to form a judgment or opinion
00:06:17of or decide upon critically number nine to decide or settle authoritatively for a judge number 10 to
00:06:25infer think or hold as an opinion conclude about or assess number 14 to form an opinion or estimate
00:06:33number 15 to make a mental judgment these this is just uh five selections from a list of about
00:06:4115 on this particular entry on dictionary.com but the one that's going to be most i get relevant it
00:06:48seems
00:06:49like to me for this particular discussion is number nine where it says to decide or settle authoritatively
00:06:54a judge and i think that really fits with a lot of what scripture is telling us about how what
00:07:01when
00:07:02who to judge when it comes to judging going on and we think about judging in scripture and there's all
00:07:11kinds of judges i'm gonna go ahead and spill the beans i'm gonna let the cat out of the bag
00:07:14there are all
00:07:15kinds of judges in scripture but the one particular single specific judge that we really should be
00:07:23worried about and concerned about and have in mind as we go through this particular discussion on judging
00:07:28is the judge yeshua yeshua as our judge and in fact yeshua wasn't always the judge of our salvation
00:07:38he was appointed by yahweh himself to judge our salvation and when it comes to judging salvation
00:07:46it's yeshua and only yeshua who has that authority and ability he's the only one who has the authority
00:07:54and ability to judge our salvation we look at acts chapter 10 verse 42 and he commanded us to proclaim
00:08:00to the people and to witness that it is he who was appointed by elohim to be judge of the
00:08:07living
00:08:07and the dead so take it this verse and there's other verses that go along with us too and we'll
00:08:14look at some of those coming up as we go throughout this particular rosh or teaching but number one it
00:08:20says here that it's talking about and he commanded us to proclaim to the people and to witness that as
00:08:25he who is this he talking about yeshua here and it says he who was appointed by elohim now the
00:08:32implications and we can draw out of that is obvious hopefully for those of you who aren't
00:08:37holding to a golden calf in church tradition this should be obvious is what it's saying right
00:08:41here it says that yeshua jesus was appointed by god by elohim by yahweh to be judge of the living
00:08:49and
00:08:49the dead if someone is appointed to something that means that at some point in time they were not
00:08:56holding that position that they were eventually appointed to make sense so you can take various
00:09:01verses and various passages and learn all kinds of things regarding various subjects here but i just
00:09:07wanted to point that out too but the main thing for our subject here is that yeshua is the judge
00:09:13of our
00:09:13salvation among other things but he's the only one who's going to be the judge of our salvation
00:09:19and we will all stay with me all appear before messiah the judgment seat of messiah second corinthians
00:09:28chapter 5 verse 10 for we all have to appear before the judgment seat of messiah in order for each
00:09:35one
00:09:35to receive according to what he has done in the body whether good or evil another thing we can take
00:09:41off of this uh tangential to our current subject is that we will be judged and receive according to
00:09:48what we have done here in this life again salvation is not about works you don't earn your salvation
00:09:54but works are a good thing and we should be doing works this if you just read straight through even
00:10:02only the new testament you get this but there's still this tradition out there that we shouldn't
00:10:09have to do any works we don't have to worry about works the works been done away with it's solos
00:10:13scriptura which i agree with and by faith alone etc etc and we don't have to worry about work but
00:10:20you know yet they still go ahead and talk about works but the bible does too let it be known
00:10:26that
00:10:26we should be doing works and we will be rewarded according to our works this is just one verse
00:10:31among many that says the exact same thing as that but we will all appear before the judgment seat of
00:10:37the messiah the righteous the unrighteous at the end times and we will all be judged according to our
00:10:43salvation by messiah himself because he was the one appointed by yahweh to be the judge of our salvation
00:10:52again yeshua is our salvation it's not us who judges other people's salvation it's yeshua
00:10:59acts chapter 17 verse 31 because he has set a day on which he is going to judge the world
00:11:05in
00:11:05righteousness by a man whom he has appointed having given proof of this to all by raising him
00:11:12from the dead now there's various pronouns going on here and not a single specific name whatsoever but
00:11:19if we look at surrounding context we can easily figure it out because he has set a day on which
00:11:23he is going to judge the world who is this he is talking about here this is yahweh they're talking
00:11:27about here what modern church entity would refer to as god but it says this is referring to yahweh
00:11:35because yahweh has set a day on which yahweh is going to judge the world in righteousness
00:11:39by a man whom he has appointed who is this man that they're talking about this is yeshua
00:11:46it says that this man was appointed by yahweh in this particular verse so again we can take
00:11:52tangential things off of this but again going back to the point and the subject at hand it's going to
00:11:58be yeshua who is the judge of our salvation and we will all go before yeshua to be judged of
00:12:04our
00:12:04salvation at the end of days now even though it talks about yahweh judging the world and it talks
00:12:12about yeshua judging our salvation and judging the world and stuff like that did you know that the
00:12:18scriptures also speak about other judges as well shocker right i know some people who are
00:12:28diehard fundamentalists say there's only one judge and that's jesus and any other judge was just
00:12:33blasphemy and stuff like that maybe no not really and that's nothing get into a subject or a um
00:12:40a discussion with them on the godhead and start talking about how the bible speaks of multiple gods
00:12:46oh boy man that gets heated real quick then you get into explaining it and there's like deer in
00:12:52headlights but anyways i'm getting off on a different subject anyways bible does speak about other
00:12:57judges and what judges are we talking about here well have you ever heard of the book
00:13:02of judges itself there's actually a whole book about judges anyways we look here in judges the
00:13:09book of judges chapter 2 verses 16 through 18 then yahweh raised up rulers who saved them from the hand
00:13:16of those who plundered them however they did not listen to their rulers either but went whoring after
00:13:22other mighty ones and bowed down to them they soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers
00:13:26walked and obeying the commands of yahweh they did not do so and when yahweh raised up rulers for
00:13:32them yahweh was the ruler and saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the ruler
00:13:38for yahweh had compassion on their groaning because of those who oppressed them and crushed them
00:13:45now if you're just listening to this you may have thought well i didn't hear the word
00:13:49judge anywhere in that and that's because we normally quote and read from a translation called the
00:13:56scriptures 2009 when this particular passage from the scriptures 2009 they don't use the word judge
00:14:02they use the word rulers and that's fitting in a sense i think but that's just the way they
00:14:08translated it other translations do translate ruler as judge actually and the other translations that do
00:14:17that are many many many but just a few of those we've got the coverdale the matthew geneva
00:14:23do it davay rams king james britain lisa julia smith we have the um let's see here the lsb the
00:14:30legacy
00:14:30standard bible the english standard version the tree of life version uh the complete jewish bible etc etc etc
00:14:38lots of translations use the word judge instead of ruler and other translations use the word leaders
00:14:45but most are probably what you're used to and they use the word judge so other people are described as
00:14:52judges and scripture now these judges are different than what you would think of as um judges nowadays who
00:15:00sit on a court and decide matters of law and things like that they did do that but they also
00:15:07did other things in addition to that and a judge was a temporary position if we contrast a judge back
00:15:16during that time with a king which came later on a judge was only a temporary title they held when
00:15:24a
00:15:25foreign nation come in they need to be smacked around and straightened up a judge would be raised up
00:15:31take care of that foreign entity foreign nation and then they wouldn't be judged anymore
00:15:37a judge also did not levy taxes taxes a judge did not levy taxes a judge did not have a
00:15:45standing army
00:15:45like a king would or anything like that and plus a judge technically was not um in charge of the
00:15:53entire nation of israel a judge was only in charge of that particular area that needed to be addressed
00:16:00at that time such as the northern part of israel if a northern kingdom came and was oppressing them
00:16:09or the southern part or the eastern part i mean you get it right it wasn't the entire nation it
00:16:13was just
00:16:13that certain area the judges were for a certain amount of time only for a certain area only for a
00:16:20specific
00:16:20circumstance they did not levy taxes they did not have a standing army and there's some other nuances as well
00:16:26which separate them from the position of king which would come later on king on the other hand
00:16:33was for life generally once they obtained that particular leadership role they levied taxes they
00:16:41held a standing army they pretty much uh coerced or forced labor i mean think about solomon building
00:16:48the temple there was pretty much forced labor there so yeah and all sorts of things so that's the
00:16:55difference between a judge and a king but a judge back during that time would also
00:17:02judge matters of law decide between people disputes and things like that also now knowing that knowing
00:17:10that yeshua is our ultimate judge and judge of our salvation not other people and that there's also
00:17:15other people who are described as judges but they didn't judge salvation so keep that in mind
00:17:19but the bible talks about other people who are regarded as judges as well are how do we fit in
00:17:27all
00:17:27this are we the ones that are going to be judged by these other people and other circumstances that
00:17:31are not salvation wise or how does that work let's look at matthew chapter 19 verse 28 and yeshua said
00:17:39to
00:17:39them truly i say to you when the son of adam sits on the throne of his esteem you who
00:17:43have followed me in
00:17:44the rebirth to also sit on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of israel in this particular passage it would
00:17:51seem to me at first reading that it he's actually referring to probably the 12 disciples but there's a
00:17:59little kink in that because the original 12 disciples they didn't stay 12 forever right judas fell out
00:18:10because he was the betrayer and he went and hung himself so they went down to 11 they went back
00:18:14up
00:18:15to 12 and then they got all so it had been technically about 13 disciples so take this particular passage
00:18:24in
00:18:24matthew 19 as you will maybe it's talking about the disciples the 12 disciples that yeshua picked or
00:18:32maybe it's talking about us and those who are um the faithful who stood by yeshua i don't know but
00:18:41just know that judges does refer to not just yeshua not just yahweh not just gideon and samson and deborah
00:18:52and all those back in the book of judges but it also can refer to other human beings after that
00:18:58up to
00:18:58and including us sometimes as well let's go on and again look in luke chapter 22 verses 28 to 30
00:19:06but you are those who have remained with me in my trials and i covenant for you as my father
00:19:12covenanted for me a rain to eat and drink at my table in my rain and to sit on thrones
00:19:19judging the 12
00:19:20tribes of israel this is another one just like the previous one from the book of matthew chapter 19
00:19:26this could be talking about the 12 disciples but probably in this particular passage uh
00:19:34this comes across to me as referring to us more so than the 12 disciples but you take it for
00:19:41how you
00:19:41will but the point is there are other judges besides yeshua that are mentioned in scripture
00:19:47as being judges they're not always judges of the same thing or in the same context
00:19:53obviously because yeshua is the only one who is the judge of our salvation however we are to judge
00:20:00and be judges even nowadays before the end times come don't believe me well let's go ahead and look
00:20:07at some more scripture some more evidence to come and see what that actual uh see what the truth of
00:20:14the
00:20:14matter is in other words looking at judging in context especially as it comes from scripture
00:20:21we go back and look at the original passage that we began with and that was matthew chapter 7
00:20:26and especially verse 1 we look at matthew chapter 7 verses 1 through 5 for a greater context and it
00:20:33says here do not judge lest you be judged for with what judgment you judge you shall be judged and
00:20:40with
00:20:40the same measures you use it shall be measured to you sorry about that and why do you look at
00:20:47the
00:20:48splinter in your brother's eye but do not notice the plank in your own eye or how is it that
00:20:52you
00:20:52say to your brother let me remove the splinter out of your eye and see a plank is in your
00:20:57own eye
00:20:58hypocrite first remove the plank from your own eye and then you shall see clearly remove the splinter
00:21:04out of your brother's eye so here notice that yeshua does not say never look at your brother's eye
00:21:13get that you see that anywhere in this particular passage it's because it's not there he doesn't
00:21:18say don't ever judge in any form any context whatsoever don't ever look at your brother's eye
00:21:25he doesn't say that also well let me back up before i get too far ahead
00:21:33yeshua isn't telling us to never judge at all in fact to the contrary he is actually teaching us
00:21:39how to judge so that comes in a different light now that we take it in context break it down
00:21:46and
00:21:46take a lot slower so we can better grasp everything that's going on here he doesn't say never judge
00:21:52he's teaching us how to judge and how is he teaching us to judge by not being hypocritical about it
00:21:58in this particular example he says you first remove the plank out of your own eye then you can see
00:22:05to
00:22:05remove the speck or the splinter out of your brother's eye for instance in our day and age a
00:22:12modern analogy might be um let's say you're an alcoholic and you go up and you start talking to
00:22:19someone else about their drinking problem that's being hypocritical if you're uh taken by the drink
00:22:27as it were and you're an alcoholic and you can't you know break from it and you're still doing that
00:22:32you have no business trying to tell other people about their own alcoholism first take care of your
00:22:39own alcoholism take care of your own addiction then you would be even more equipped to help those
00:22:45who are still within the darkness of alcoholism same thing goes for sexual perversion such as
00:22:52homosexuality transgender things like that too most of those don't tell within their own group you know
00:23:00they shouldn't be like that obviously but you get the point when you see a wrong you see a sin
00:23:06you
00:23:07want to address it but if you're doing the same thing that's being a hypocrite and yeshua says don't
00:23:12be a hypocrite correct yourself first look to your own soul look to your own life before you go and
00:23:19try
00:23:19to judge and help correct someone else this command here is not saying don't ever judge whatsoever
00:23:27this command condemns hypocritical judgment even hypercritical judgment and it's actually
00:23:35talking more in line with discerning judgment as opposed to a prohibition on judgment which most
00:23:43people think of and put forth when they just talk about judging and especially the bible and stuff like
00:23:48that in fact when you judge someone and this is pretty obvious but it bears repeating when you judge
00:23:54someone you need to have a standard by which to judge them by well the standard that we judge our
00:23:59brothers and sisters by is the word of yahweh the scripture the bible right and that is what we
00:24:05judge people by we should judge our own selves by if we just make it up as we go that's
00:24:10really no
00:24:11standard whatsoever so our standard is the bible that is our yardstick as it were and as one person
00:24:18put it that i was looking into they said make sure that your yardstick doesn't become your boomerang
00:24:25and come back and hit you from being hypocritical about the way you judge for instance look at let's
00:24:31look at romans chapter 2 verses 1 through 3 therefore oh man you are without excuse everyone who judges
00:24:38or in which you judge another you condemn yourself since you who judge practice the same wrongs and we
00:24:46know that the judgment of elohim is according to truth against those who practice such wrong and do
00:24:52you think oh man you who judge those practicing such wrongs and doing the same that you shall escape the
00:24:58judgment of elohim again paul is not writing here to the romans don't ever judge he's saying the exact
00:25:05same thing that yeshua said earlier don't be a hypocrite because you're going to be judged by the exact
00:25:12same thing that yardstick is going to turn into a boomerang and come back and hit you it's not going
00:25:17to be pretty take care of yourself take care of your own life look to your own ways before trying
00:25:23to
00:25:24judge other people it can be done is done all the time i have zero problem with alcoholism i have
00:25:32zero
00:25:33problem with homosexuality so that frees me up to go forth and judge those kind of matters right but those
00:25:40who may be in that kind of thing that would be hypocritical for them to do that hopefully that
00:25:45makes sense now we saw already we saw yeshua what he said about judgment a little bit anyways i also
00:25:53saw
00:25:53a little bit about what paul says about judging them both saying pretty much the same thing is that
00:25:58don't be hypocritical when you judge but we're still getting the um implication to judge all the same
00:26:06however there is also a direct command to judge from yeshua himself in john chapter 7 verse 24
00:26:14do not judge according to appearance but judge with righteous judgment notice there how we are
00:26:22commanded to judge judge with righteous judgment make sense so again as you can see already i mean just
00:26:34from a few verses that we looked at in context and some other verses that go along with it and
00:26:38especially pertaining to this particular subject we're told or we can see that the bible instead
00:26:45of prohibiting judgment or being judgmental bible actually trains us and guides us and commands us
00:26:52in how to judge fairly interesting right may not have picked up on that from a mainstream church entity
00:26:59preaching but you go through and looking at scripture itself things start lining up and making
00:27:05a lot more sense righteous judgment as we kind of intimated earlier righteous judgment is based on
00:27:13a standard a holy righteous standard which is the word of yahweh and not just what we make up ourselves
00:27:20some kind of surface level bias that if you're like me sometimes your your standards might change from
00:27:28day to day you might be fairly strict on most days but other days when you're tired and you're stressed
00:27:33out you're like oh kids just go do whatever you want to just don't you know bring the blood you're
00:27:37fine
00:27:39so yeah your standards might be lax on some days but yahweh's standard never does lax up it's going to
00:27:45be
00:27:45the same forever it's same yesterday same today it's going to be the same in the future that is the
00:27:51standard by which we judge people by now again proverbs chapter 31 verse 9 open your mouth judge
00:27:57righteously and plead the cause of the poor and needy so here we're getting into some more aspects
00:28:04and some more guidelines for how to judge not a prohibition against judging but how we should go
00:28:12about judging and here we're told to plead the cause of the poor and the needy and to judge
00:28:16righteously again we're not to show partiality whatsoever in regards to status or wealth or
00:28:23anything like that we are to judge righteously and use just measures as it were looking at
00:28:30leviticus chapter 19 verse 15 do no unrighteousness in right ruling do not be partial to the poor
00:28:36or favor of the face of the great but rightly rule your neighbor in righteousness once again
00:28:42we are commanded in how to judge we are guided and regulated in how to judge and we are told
00:28:48do not show partiality in your judgment it doesn't matter if it is the president or the ceo
00:28:55or the homeless guy on the street we're to judge them all the same with all the same standard
00:29:01but judging righteously is actually a direct command as opposed to what we normally hear of do not judge
00:29:08whatsoever we are to be pleading the case of the poor and the needy the widow the fatherless people
00:29:16like that we're not to show partiality in our judgment when we do judge now when we talk about
00:29:23this whole business of us judging stuff like that it's obviously going to come down to a time
00:29:29sometime or another when we are judged by other people but is it the right people who should be
00:29:37judging us and should we take what they say to heart well let's look at the words of paul when
00:29:43he
00:29:43talks to the church at colossi colossians chapter 2 verses 16 through 17 let no one therefore judge
00:29:49you in eating or in drinking or in respect of a festival or a new moon or sabbath which are
00:29:54a
00:29:54shadow of what is to come but the body of the messiah this is one you probably heard before and
00:30:01we
00:30:02briefly went over it when we looked at um the sabbath series we got to looking at sunday arguments
00:30:09stuff like that but this is fairly popular especially when it comes to mainstream churchianity
00:30:15versus messianic you know kind of way of thinking but the traditional churchianity way of viewing this
00:30:22and interpreting this is they will come across and they will say oh you can do whatever you want you
00:30:27can eat whatever you want drink whatever you want do any sort of sabbath do any sort of festival or
00:30:32no
00:30:32festival or no sabbath it's all good don't let anyone judge you because jesus paid it all right
00:30:40i mean that's how it's usually viewed and interpreted by mainstream churchianity but that's not the truth
00:30:44of the matter that's not what the bible is saying looky here it says let no one therefore judge you
00:30:50in eating or in drinking or in respect of a festival or a new moon or sabbaths which are a
00:30:54shadow of what
00:30:55is to come but the body of messiah notice that middle part right there which says all these things
00:31:00are a shadow of what is to come these things that they're a shadow of have not yet come according
00:31:09to
00:31:09all they are still yet to come they are a future um projection i guess you could say or a
00:31:15future
00:31:16instance that we haven't yet seen and he says that these things that are currently going on he says
00:31:21they are currently are currently present active still ongoing they have not been done away with
00:31:28if they had been done away with like modern churchianity interprets he would have written
00:31:33these were a shadow of things that we have already saw come to pass that's not what he writes he
00:31:39says
00:31:39these things are current present active and ongoing things are a shadow of what is to come which hasn't
00:31:46come yet so in contrast to what modern churchianity teaches this does not say that you can do whatever
00:31:52sabbath you want whatever festival or holiday or eat whatever you want drink whatever you want
00:31:57nothing like that notice also here the bookends and the front part and the latter part of this
00:32:04particular passage says here let no one therefore judge you but the body of the messiah
00:32:13doesn't that make it a lot more clear about what it's actually trying to say let me read it again
00:32:18just those two ends right there disregarding the specifics in the middle it says here let no one
00:32:24therefore judge you but the body of the messiah let no one judge you but or except the body of
00:32:33messiah
00:32:34so who is to actually judge us those who are within the body those who are other believers those who
00:32:41are brothers and sisters in messiah but we're not to let anyone else judge us for what we do
00:32:47when we follow scripture right because scripture tells us what to eat what we can drink what kind of
00:32:53festival or new moon or sabbath or whatever when we follow that we're following yahweh's standard yahweh's
00:33:00rule and those who are outside have a lot of things to say about that mostly negative maybe some
00:33:06positive but mostly negative but none of that should matter us their opinion about keeping yahweh's
00:33:14word does not matter to us that's why paul says let no one therefore judge you let no one who's
00:33:21on the
00:33:21outside judge you those who are on the inside those are the ones who are supposed to be judging you
00:33:27in what you eat or drink or festival or holiday you keep or new moon or sabbath
00:33:33that's who should judge you and how you keep these things it's the body of messiah the believers your
00:33:38brothers and sisters in messiah themselves those are the ones who are supposed to be judging you in
00:33:44such things then we look at you know if we are to judge ourselves speaking of those of us who
00:33:55are in
00:33:55the body then who is it that judges those who are outside well this is yahweh who judges those we
00:34:02look
00:34:03at first corinthians chapter 5 verses 12 through 13 what have i to do with judging outsiders do you
00:34:09not judge those who are inside but elohim judges those who are outside and put away the wicked one from
00:34:16among you as hard as it is we might look at someone on the street who's not a believer and
00:34:22say
00:34:22you're wrong you're a sinner blah blah blah you know
00:34:29it's not really our place to do that not saying you're wrong for whatever it is you're saying because
00:34:34i don't know what it is you're saying but we can see here from scripture is yahweh who judges those
00:34:39who are outside the body of messiah so you know it's not your department in other words it's not part
00:34:46of your responsibility it's not in your job title to do that it's only those who are inside that we
00:34:52are
00:34:52to help judge now we can tell the people that they're wrong all day long but as far as judging
00:34:57them condemning them stuff like that that's not for us to do that's going to be the end times thing
00:35:02for yahweh and yeshua to handle not us so it's yahweh who judges those who are outside whereas what we
00:35:10can get from scripture is that we should judge ourselves we should judge uh the brothers and sisters
00:35:15in messiah not those who are outside and don't let those who are outside judge us don't let their opinion
00:35:21bother you all it is is smoke and it flies over like water off the duck's back don't worry about
00:35:27their opinion and how you keep torah let it go we look at the standard again and i know i
00:35:36said that
00:35:36our standard is yahweh's word but the scriptures actually say such thing in no uncertain terms in
00:35:45other words we look at second timothy chapter five i'm sorry second timothy chapter three verses 16
00:35:51to 17 all scripture is breathed out by elohim and profitable for teaching for reproof for setting
00:35:56straight for instruction and righteousness that the man of elohim might be fitted equipped for every
00:36:02good work so scripture is what we got our lives by what we got our doctrine and our beliefs by
00:36:09not the
00:36:10preaching of some talking head on the internet not by the preaching or opinion of some guy in the
00:36:15pulpit on you know sunday morning you know nothing like that it's scripture that is our standard and
00:36:22that is what is profitable for teaching for reproof for setting straight for instruction and righteousness
00:36:27that we may be fitted and equipped for every good work now one thing i want to point out here
00:36:32real
00:36:33quick and this is uh especially for those of you who are new to the messianic way of thinking
00:36:38but consider this we take things in their cultural and historical context and doing that with this
00:36:45particular passage in second timothy the context here especially in its cultural and historical setting
00:36:50is that when this was written they did not have a new testament
00:36:58shock i know to say there was a time when there was no new testament yeah i get it right
00:37:04it can be a
00:37:05shock sometimes but they did not have a new testament back then they might have had a letter here and
00:37:10there especially the uh maybe the churches of that paul was apostling but they did not have a new
00:37:17testament like we think of new testament nowadays so when they talk about scripture and scripture being
00:37:23breathed out by elohim what are they actually talking about then if they didn't have the new testament
00:37:26they had the septuagint they had the tenor which is the torah the prophets and the writing
00:37:37that's what they had that's what they're referring to here when they say scripture
00:37:41so their scripture for the first century church their scripture was the tenor not the new testament
00:37:49that comes as a shock i know to those of you who are so used to the mainstream churchianity way
00:37:56of
00:37:56thinking and i was too for a long long time so i get it i was there i understand but
00:38:01when you start
00:38:01thinking about this in its historical and cultural context it talks about all scriptures breathe out
00:38:06when they first read this and when it was written to them it was about the tanakh not the new
00:38:13testament
00:38:13or we consider the new testament nowadays but again the scriptures time and time again state that the
00:38:20standard for us to live by and judge by and to guide our lives by is this word of yahweh
00:38:26itself we look
00:38:28at romans chapter 15 verse 4 whatever is written before was written for our instruction that through
00:38:35endurance and encouragement of the scriptures we might have the expectation again yahweh's word is
00:38:44our standard by which we go by and by which we judge ourselves by first and then judge those brothers
00:38:51and sisters in the body that's what we judge them by as well our standard the torah regardless and in
00:38:58contradiction to mainstream churchianity teaching the torah is good it's not a burden it's not a curse
00:39:05the torah is good and scripture actually says that as well psalms 119 verses 102 through 105
00:39:14i have not turned aside from your right rulings for you yourself have taught me how sweet to my taste
00:39:20has your word been more than honey to my mouth from your orders i get understanding therefore i have
00:39:26hated every false way your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path and for
00:39:33those of you who don't
00:39:34know if you want to read what the bible has to say about the torah and about the word about
00:39:40the stock
00:39:40go check out psalms 119 that is i believe in standard canonization it's about the middle of the bible
00:39:50it's also the longest chapter in the bible whatsoever and of course psalms the book of psalms is the longest
00:39:57book in the bible but yeah psalms 119 is all about the um virtues and the greatness and the blessings
00:40:06and the
00:40:07wonderfulness of the torah which runs in stark contradiction to the catholic tradition handed down
00:40:14nowadays by mainstream protestantism which says that the torah is you know a burden it was a yo
00:40:19no one could do it no one was expected to do it it was you know all these bad things
00:40:25now go read your
00:40:27bible see what the bible actually says regarding that particular subject as well as every other
00:40:32subject too but you'll see what the bible says and what mainstream churchianity says are two opposite
00:40:38and completely different things now we saw that's number one yeshua is the judge of our salvation
00:40:44that no one else is not me not you not hope not you preacher whoever they can't judge your salvation
00:40:51that's just belonging to yeshua and that was granted and pointed to him by yahweh we saw there were other
00:41:00people who were referred to as judges besides yeshua and we also saw that we are not to allow others
00:41:07who
00:41:07are outside the body to judge us but it's us within the body who are to judge ourselves and especially
00:41:13our own personal selves first so when we go and we start talking about judging the brethren and
00:41:19instead of judging those who are outside what kind of rules and what kind of regulations can we pick up
00:41:25on when we talk about judging our own brethren those who are within the body of messiah well first of
00:41:33all
00:41:33sorry first of all i can't even talk tonight oh first off let's go ahead and look at proverbs chapter
00:41:4210 verse 17 he who eats discipline is in the way of life but he who refuses reproof goes astray
00:41:50when we talk about judging and we get into the realization the bible tells us that we are to
00:41:56actually judge instead of you know prohibiting judgment whatsoever it kind of comes easy for us to
00:42:04think about judging other people we look at our brother or a sister who goes to church with us or
00:42:12synagogue with us or whatever you'll call it and it's usually easier to think about judging them
00:42:18and what they're doing wrong and how they got their life somehow askew and it's a lot harder to look
00:42:24on
00:42:24ourselves and a lot of times we don't want to be judged and we don't like to be judged we
00:42:30don't like
00:42:31to have that conviction on us but it's it'd be a good thing and most of the time it usually
00:42:36is from
00:42:37someone who is loving us and wants us to be better and have a closer walk with yahweh and that's
00:42:45a lot
00:42:46of times what these scriptures tell us when it talks about you know us getting reproof here in psalm i'm
00:42:53sorry proverbs 10 17 it says he who needs discipline is in the way of life but he refuses reproof
00:42:59goes
00:42:59astray we are human we make mistakes number one okay i make mistakes just about every single day
00:43:06i need reproof i need setting straight and somehow whether it's cooking whether it's in interpretation
00:43:12of scripture uh whether it's in parenting you name something and it's usually having to do with uh road
00:43:20rage when i get on the road but this is subject for another time well we all need reproof we
00:43:26all need
00:43:26to be um adjusted from time to time and scripture tells us that he who he's disciplined is in the
00:43:33way
00:43:34of life and it even goes on in certain parts to say that it's yahweh who reproves those whom he
00:43:40loves
00:43:40he reproves and chastises his children so it's a good thing that's why we discipline as parents that's
00:43:48why we discipline our children it's not going to hurt them but it sets them straight it helps to
00:43:52guide them and straighten them out into the way they should be going even the bible says you know
00:43:57spare not the rod you spare the rod you spoil the child so i am definitely in the realm of
00:44:05you know
00:44:06discipline your children but we should also look upon ourselves look at that person in the mirror
00:44:12and accept that we need guidance and reproof and discipline from time to time as well and we need
00:44:19someone in our lives that we can trust who we know has our best interest at heart to be able
00:44:26to do that
00:44:26to be our what they call a lot of times accountability partner whatever you want to phrase it as but
00:44:32we need
00:44:32that sometimes so don't reject it especially when it's coming from a brother or sister who has your best
00:44:38interest in mind accept it or at least seriously consider it anyway going on and again looking at
00:44:46proverbs chapter 12 verse 1 whoever loves discipline loves knowledge but he who hates reproof is stupid
00:44:54don't be a teenager in other words don't think that you know everything there is to know and you can't
00:44:59learn anything else you still have things to learn till you're dying day we all do and that's something
00:45:06i love about life that's one of the aspects of life that i absolutely just you know get all about
00:45:14get all excited about is something to learn something to expand my knowledge on that's why i'm so addicted
00:45:19to like history and church history especially and the bible and everything else because there's always
00:45:26something to learn i may be thinking oh i know this because i've taught on it before i've done a
00:45:31research
00:45:31on it before but still there's still things to learn and i do that every single time even things
00:45:37that i revisit i try to learn something new and present something new uh regarding that particular
00:45:43subject so there's always something to learn don't ever turn away knowledge don't ever turn away
00:45:49education or wisdom stuff like that continue to learn all throughout your life whoever loves discipline
00:45:54loves knowledge along with learning comes discipline from time to time again accept discipline when it
00:46:01comes from a trustworthy source who has your best interest in mind so how do we handle those
00:46:08we're talking about ourselves a little bit now but those in the brethren those who are in the body
00:46:15if they are sinning against us or they are sinning in general how do we handle that kind of situation
00:46:21but we start off by looking at matthew chapter 18 verses 15 through 17 and if your brother sins against
00:46:28you go and convict him between you and him alone if he hears you you have gained your brother but
00:46:33if
00:46:33he does not hear take with you one or two more that by the mouth of two or three witnesses
00:46:38every word
00:46:39might be established and if he refuses to hear them say it to the assembly and if he refuses to
00:46:45hear even
00:46:45to hear the assembly let him be to you like the nations and a tax collector that is very very
00:46:53foreign to the way things operate nowadays for those of you who are like me and you've been you know
00:46:59rejected and kicked out of congregations and fellowships in the past you know it doesn't
00:47:05happen like this like it should and uh congregations um yeah anyways goes on and uh yeshua is telling us
00:47:13here that if your brother sins against you and the way i'm taking this is that you personally or you
00:47:18know does something against you but i'm taking it it could also be against you know what we would
00:47:24interpret to be as the scriptural teaching as well but says go and talk to him just you and him
00:47:30one-on-one discussion work it out or do your best to work it out anyway and maybe you have
00:47:37luck there
00:47:38maybe you can help him to see the error of his ways another aspect to take in mind and to
00:47:43keep in mind
00:47:44is that if you're trying to do this you're going through this process understand that you may be in
00:47:49the wrong here when you go to try and correct them but when you start talking about it it may
00:47:53be you
00:47:54that gets the light shown on instead of that other person so accept that and you know listen to what
00:48:02they have to say and seriously consider it but go and bring up the case between you and him alone
00:48:08one-on-one that's the first step number two if he hears you have gained your brother but if he
00:48:14does
00:48:14not hear you then you take another one or two brethren with you so that by the mouth of two
00:48:21or three
00:48:21witnesses every word might be established and go talk to him then then try to have a discussion
00:48:27so that's step two if step one didn't step two is you go with some other brothers uh in the
00:48:33faith
00:48:33and try to talk to the person themselves if that doesn't work then number three it goes on and he
00:48:39says and if he refuses to hear them say it to the assembly this is huge right here this is
00:48:45something
00:48:46that they seriously do not do nowadays and they are absolutely terrified of doing this think about
00:48:56this for a minute one of the churches that i got um kicked out of was for the subject of
00:49:03plural marriage
00:49:05and um i didn't even get to talk with the main guy the rabbi there when he found out that
00:49:11you know
00:49:12i held to the biblical standard of marriage which does allow for a man to have more than one wife
00:49:17when he found that out as soon as i came in the door one saturday he came up from the
00:49:24pulpit up in
00:49:25the very beginning where the whole ark and the tourist scrolls kept everything else he was up there and
00:49:29he saw me come in the back door he starts briskly walking back straight towards me and ushers me out
00:49:36of the little uh synagogue congregation thing there he would not have a conversation about it he did not
00:49:42bring two or three other people with him and he certainly would not have wanted me to get up in
00:49:47front of the congregation so it was completely unbiblical the way he did it but it is what it is
00:49:53you can't change something right but that's what a lot of these congregations are absolutely scared of
00:49:59they don't want you getting up and putting forth your case they don't want the uh issue to be
00:50:05discussed in front of other people because it might go against what they say and draw others away
00:50:10they want to keep that power they want to keep that membership they don't want to lose it they
00:50:16scared that they might be wrong about something you might be right and they will never i've never heard
00:50:21of anyone ever being brought in front of the assembly before they were kicked out and i've known a lot
00:50:25of
00:50:25people who've gotten what's called the left foot of fellowship just like me so yeah anyways if you're
00:50:32doing it the biblical way get back to scripture here we're doing the biblical way then step three
00:50:36if you can't resolve it by you and him speaking alone together one-on-one then bring two or three
00:50:42more that's step two and if you can't work it out between the person who has sinned against you
00:50:47and you and the other two or three that you brought with you then bring it in front of the
00:50:52congregation
00:50:52in front of the assembly and then if he still refuses to hear even the assembly then you let
00:51:00him be like the nations and a tax collector and this is speaking in reference to those who are
00:51:05outside the body said let him be to you like those kind of people and how are we to treat
00:51:10those kind of
00:51:11people we're to let number one yahweh judge them and we are not to let their opinions influence us
00:51:17when they try to judge us for the way we're keeping the word of yahweh makes sense hopefully
00:51:22it's a little bit clearer now i love breaking things down and there's components and taking
00:51:27it slow and maybe it's just me and my edd but it makes more sense when you kind of break
00:51:33it down
00:51:34and go a little bit slower like that and we've talked about you know judging ourselves first looking
00:51:38at the person in the mirror and correcting them before we go out and judge other people and how
00:51:42mainstream churchianity teaches that you shouldn't judge at all but we're actually commanded to judge
00:51:48our brethren those who are within the body of messiah we have a command to actually judge them
00:51:54we look at colossians i'm sorry galatians chapter 6 verse 1 brothers if a man is overtaken in some
00:52:01trespass you the spiritual ones set such a one straight in a spirit of meekness looking at yourself
00:52:07lest you be tried to yeah we're told here that if one of the brethren one of our brothers and
00:52:15sisters
00:52:15messiah goes astray they are one off into some kind of trespass in life and you know is going against
00:52:24torah it's going against what we see in scripture that we are to go we are to judge them we
00:52:29are to set
00:52:29them straight in a spirit of meekness and spirit of humility and we are to again not do it hypocritically
00:52:37we are to first make sure that we aren't ourselves tied up in that kind of sin or that kind
00:52:44of error
00:52:45or even adjacent to it before we go and try to correct our brethren so yeah pretty much the same
00:52:52thing that yeshua was saying earlier don't be a hypocrite when you go and judge but we're told here
00:52:58by paul we're told to go and set a brother or sister straight if they get off in there in
00:53:05a
00:53:05trespass they get off into alcoholism now again bible does not prohibit the consuming of alcohol
00:53:11you want a glass of wine you want a beer you go for it there's nothing simple nothing wrong about
00:53:17that even tells us to do that sometimes but being addicted to alcohol being a slave to alcohol that
00:53:25is alcoholism and that is a sin we're actually prohibited from doing that particular aspect
00:53:30of uh consuming alcohol so if they get into alcoholism go and correct them do your very best
00:53:37try and save them and bring them back into the right way of doing things and yeah if you can
00:53:42do
00:53:43that you have saved a brother but do it for the right reasons do it because we are instructed to
00:53:49by the scriptures do it because you have a love for your brother or for your sister don't do it
00:53:55because
00:53:55you want to elevate yourself and make yourself seem right you don't do it because you want to be right
00:54:02you want to do it because you want to redeem the other person from whatever error they may be in
00:54:07at
00:54:07the time make sure your motives are correct as well and again whenever we go and we try to judge
00:54:14others we should first be making sure that we judge ourselves make sure we have ourselves
00:54:19straighten out before we go and try to correct other people we look at first corinthians chapter
00:54:2411 verses 31 through 32 for if we were to examine ourselves we would not be judged but when we
00:54:32are
00:54:32judged we are disciplined by the master that we should not be condemned with the world again look to
00:54:40yourself straighten yourself out before you try and go and straighten others out don't be a hypocrite
00:54:45when you go to judge but again there's no prohibition against judging whatsoever there are rules there
00:54:53are regulations there are guidance but we are to judge we are commanded to judge actually now there is
00:55:00also wisdom and discernment in judging as well not everything that comes up needs to be adjudicated or
00:55:07judged at that very moment some things we should not judge immediately if something comes up a rumor
00:55:15about a particular person or a ministry or is this and that and the other definitely don't judge
00:55:22immediately and we have such a bad habit of doing this from social media nowadays you see one post
00:55:28about a political candidate or about a preacher or a minister or things like that and we automatically
00:55:34jump to conclusions and make a judgment but we shouldn't do that we should instead wait for the full
00:55:39context of the evidence to come out before we make that judgment not everything needs to be immediately
00:55:46addressed not everything needs to be immediately judged we look at second timothy chapter 2 verses 23
00:55:52through 26 i refuse foolish and stupid questions knowing that they breed quarrels and a servant of the
00:55:59master should not quarrel but be gentle towards all able to teach patient when wronged in meekness
00:56:04instructing those who were in opposition lest somehow elohim gives them repentance unto a thorough
00:56:10knowledge of the truth and they come to their senses out of the snare of the devil having been taken
00:56:15captive by him to do his desire so even when judging and righteously judging there's not everything that
00:56:23needs not everything that comes up needs to be judged and now everything needs to be judged immediately
00:56:28some things don't even bother with and what is those some things right here says here in second
00:56:34timothy the foolish and stupid questions that only breed quarrels don't even worry about them just let
00:56:41them go like water off a duck's back just let them go and you've probably run across this many times
00:56:47in
00:56:48your life you run across a uh atheist or someone online or something like that and they might try to
00:56:55trick
00:56:55you or the trick question and one of the more famous traditional trick questions is well can god
00:57:00make a rock so big that even he can't move it and that's supposed to be a gotcha question but
00:57:06it's not
00:57:06there for any actual intellectual exercise or you know it's just there to breed quarrels to try and
00:57:16be a gotcha kind of thing it's not even a relevance or just question to begin with but you can
00:57:23see the
00:57:23point i'm making not everything needs to be addressed now everything needs to be addressed
00:57:26immediately to take those two points into consideration when you think about judging and
00:57:32scripture and things like that we really need to consider um correction or judgment from those who
00:57:39are mature in the faith like i said earlier you can have someone you really should have someone
00:57:44who um you trust who is knowledgeable who is wise who is mature that can help to hold you
00:57:52accountable who can help to guide you and educate you and provide that iron sharpening iron kind of
00:57:58situation when you need it we all need that kind of person and if you are a man then an
00:58:05older gentleman
00:58:05would be the one that would be advised if you are a woman an older lady would be one that's
00:58:11advised
00:58:11there um but you get what i'm saying you need someone who is um you can trust who is wise
00:58:19and mature
00:58:19who can help correct you when you need correcting and we all need correcting from time to time we
00:58:25look at hebrews chapter 5 verse 13 through 14 for everyone partaking of milk is inexperienced in the
00:58:31word of righteousness for he is a babe but solid food is for the mature whose senses have been trained
00:58:37by practice to discern both good and evil when you first come into the faith you're starting out and
00:58:43you're learning pretty much the basics and the foundation stuff like that you're learning you know
00:58:49first few books of the bible first few books of the new testament you learn about creation account
00:58:56the story of the flood the tower of babel moses and the exodus from egypt the ten commandments
00:59:03very basic stuff like that right but then as you mature in the faith you start getting even deeper
00:59:10into it you start learning things about well the sabbath as we've just been going through a particular
00:59:15series the ins and outs and the details uh regarding the subject of the sabbath you start learning the
00:59:20ins and outs and the nuances of a subject like the godhead or the feast days or the traditional
00:59:26holidays of the church and etc you know things like that that's the kind of meat you learn later on
00:59:33but
00:59:33when you're first starting out you've got to you know get the basics first before you can really get
00:59:37into that deeper stuff and that's what it's referring to here says those who are you know inexperienced
00:59:43they drink the milk or they partake of the milk but solid food is for the mature that's what's
00:59:49saying here and this kind of goes along with the principle of getting someone who is mature in the
00:59:53faith to help educate you to help hold you accountable to help judge you and correct you
01:00:00and discipline you we all need it so try to find someone like that and also try to be that
01:00:07person
01:00:07for other people and the way to do that is to continue to advance in your education continue
01:00:13to advance in your walk and your experience and stuff like that as you go through your own life
01:00:18so that you can be that accountability person for someone else who may be younger than you are
01:00:23i want to say younger or older i'm not referring to actual physical age i'm referring to specifically
01:00:29here the walk in the faith he could be 80 years old in a babe in the faith whereas someone
01:00:36who is 30
01:00:37is older in the faith than that person who is 80 physically make sense anyways going on um
01:00:46some of the assembly we talked about you know judging ourselves about how yeshua is the judge of our
01:00:52salvation not anyone else not any you know one of us or anything like that and how to judge
01:00:58brethren try to set them straight uh go and talk to them first alone one-on-one then taking brethren
01:01:04with you then before the assembly and we are to judge those who were within the assembly but from
01:01:11time to time and this has happened over the years and it will happen again from time to time there
01:01:16will
01:01:17be people who the bible tells us to not have fellowship with and to lack of a better term be
01:01:25parted with
01:01:25let's look at first corinthians chapter 5 verse 11 and now i have written to you not to keep company
01:01:33with anyone called a brother if he is one who whores or greedy of gain or an idolater or a
01:01:40reveler or a
01:01:41drunkard or a swindler not even to eat with such a one so sometimes people are so
01:01:50enslaved to whatever vice they have in their lives whether it be sexually related whether it be
01:01:58sexually related whether it be financially related whether it be spiritually related with idolatry
01:02:03things like that whether it be you know with alcohol or whatever have you says here the list
01:02:10it gives here in this particular passage one who whores greedy of gain idolater reveler drunkard or
01:02:16swindler these are people that you should not have fellowship with according to scripture now
01:02:24engaging wisdom and using what we've already learned if people are if you notice people doing this
01:02:31you don't just automatically part ways with them i do not believe that saying that when you take
01:02:36everything into context is not saying that instead i think these people that's listening here
01:02:42what it's referring to is first trying that process of redeeming them trying to you know
01:02:47correct them stuff like that by going to them one-on-one and taking you know two or three with
01:02:52you and then going to the assembly and if they are still going about these particular things especially
01:03:00then you're not have part uh fellowship with them that's when you part with them but don't jump to
01:03:06the ostracization right off the bat in other words when addressing a brother overtaken in one of
01:03:11these trespasses do so in humility and also with meekness but make sure to also keep watch over
01:03:18yourself so that you're not you know overlooking their error just for the sake of being nice not
01:03:26overlooking their error just for the sake of unity of some things break the unity and this is a list
01:03:32of
01:03:32things right here so when you go and you address someone like this do so with humility and meekness
01:03:38making sure to address yourself first but try to do it um with the right motives again not because
01:03:45you think you're better than them not because you want to be right but because you have a heart for
01:03:50them get themselves corrected it's them that you're worried about not yourself when you're trying to
01:03:55correct someone else all right so we've looked at judging ourselves making sure that we're not
01:04:00judging others hypocritically we've looked at yeshua being the only judge of our salvation not anyone
01:04:05else not us or nothing like that we've also looked at other people who are referred to as judges and
01:04:11judging brethren and not letting those outside judge us or you know taking their opinion even seriously as
01:04:18to how we're following the torah and the scriptures so now let's move on and let's look at you know
01:04:26some people are so caught up in trying to judge other people's salvation when they really shouldn't
01:04:33be number one yeshua is the only judge of salvation not me not you not pastor or pope or priest
01:04:39or
01:04:39whoever there's no one else except yeshua but a lot of people are hung up on trying to judge other
01:04:45people's salvation and that's really not something we should be doing now anyways as yeshua tells us
01:04:52in a parable that he told his disciples we look in matthew chapter 13 verses 24 through 30
01:04:59another parable he put forth before them saying the rain of the heavens has become like a man who
01:05:05sowed good seed in his field but while men slept his enemy came and sowed darnel among the wheat and
01:05:10went away and when the blade sprouted and bore fruit then the darnel also appeared and the servants of
01:05:16the master of the house came and said to him master did you not sow good seed in your field
01:05:22from where
01:05:23then does it have the darnel and he said to them a man an enemy did this and the servants
01:05:29said to him
01:05:30you wish then that we go and gather them up but he said no lest while you gather up the
01:05:36darnel you also
01:05:37uproot the wheat with them that both grow together until the harvest and at the time of harvest i shall
01:05:44say to the reapers first gather the darnel and bind them in bundles to burn down but gather the wheat
01:05:50into my granary now what he's getting at here is that there's going to be believers and unbelievers
01:05:57saved and unsaved if you want to put it that way within the assembly right now and it's hard for
01:06:02us if
01:06:02not impossible sometimes to tell exactly who it is because some people do put on a good show no doubt
01:06:08but it's not for us to try and weed them out because if we do judging by the lessons we
01:06:15learned here
01:06:15we could be interrupting a actual true believers faith and cause them to lose the faith and or you
01:06:22know slide back in their walk and we don't want to do that so what yeshua advises here and tells
01:06:29us to
01:06:29do is to leave them alone and then at the end times which means armageddon you know when the angels
01:06:36come
01:06:36down all that stuff at the end times that's when everybody will be separated and who does the
01:06:43judging of salvation at the end times that's yeshua so you can have your speculations about people
01:06:50here in the now and present but it's going to be yeshua who judges our salvation not any particular
01:06:57man here on earth right now not the pope not someone who disagrees with you on the godhead
01:07:03not someone who disagrees with your particular denomination or the translation that you're using
01:07:09nothing like that it'll be yeshua at the end times and then everyone will be separated out
01:07:16by yeshua believers from the unbelievers the wheat from the darnel simple enough
01:07:23now another reason that we don't want to go on like some sort of witch hunt or some sort of
01:07:31heresy hunt things like that is because it also creates division and you've probably seen this a
01:07:38lot of times yourself before with various congregations you might have been a part of beforehand
01:07:43where something will come up and people just cannot allow others to have a differing opinion
01:07:51so they've got to be divisive about it happened a lot in my own life and it's unfortunate it's
01:07:57happened but it does happen so trying to judge someone else's salvation right now is going to
01:08:03be divisive and that's not a good thing in fact the bible warns us against being divisive and something
01:08:11that yeshua speaks on as well in mark chapter 3 verses 24 to 25 and if a rain is divided
01:08:19against itself
01:08:19that rain is unable to stand and if a house is divided against itself that house is unable to stand
01:08:26so if you have disagreements that's fine if it's not a salvation issue let it go
01:08:32issues like the godhead the oral marriage versus monogamy um the sunday the sabbath question
01:08:41there's lots of things that we can disagree on and still have fellowship and still be unified over
01:08:48it's not worth being divisive and here yeshua is telling us if you are divided you cannot stand and
01:08:55i've seen i don't know how many ministries fall once they start getting divisive over non-salvation
01:09:01issues this is also you know goes along with the whole judging brethren um aspect of this subject
01:09:11as well we're told or we looked at earlier some various reasons to not have fellowship with someone
01:09:16and being divisive is also another one that you the um scriptures tell us to judge within the brethren
01:09:25as well in fact in titus 3 10 it says this reject a divisive man after the first and second
01:09:33warning
01:09:34so again there's a process to go through you got the first warning and then the second warning
01:09:39and then you reject the person who's trying to be divisive but you don't do it straight off the bat
01:09:45give them the chance to repent give them a chance to redeem themselves give them a chance
01:09:49to correct their ways of being divisive but if they don't do that then after the second time after
01:09:55the second warning then reject them don't have fellowship with them so there's another reason
01:10:01for a possible disfellowship with somebody and that is if they are being divisive now and this whole
01:10:09appeal to unity and not being divisive is a major theme especially within the brit hadashah going
01:10:17look at paul writing to the corinthians in first corinthians chapter 1 verse 10 and i appeal to you
01:10:23brothers by the name of our master yeshua messiah that you all agree and that there be no divisions
01:10:29among you but that you be knit together in the same mind and in the same opinion so again an
01:10:35appeal
01:10:35a call to unity not divisiveness in fact it says after the first and after the second warning if
01:10:42someone's still being divisive then disfellowship with them but there's that process to go through
01:10:48first the main theme is to be unified to be brethren and be one part of the body and not
01:10:56to try and
01:10:57go along with the metaphor amputate various pieces of the body of messiah so in summary and just to take
01:11:05a few points of what we've looked at so far in this lesson just to as part of a wrap
01:11:11-up and then
01:11:11we'll sum it up some of the helpful tips and lessons that we've gathered along the way so far
01:11:16number one we should judge the action or the result and not the person it goes back to the whole
01:11:21concept
01:11:22of love the sinner but hate the sin well we're not judging the person you should not and cannot do
01:11:29that that's for yeshua but we can judge the action that the person is taking and the result that comes
01:11:36by it such as homosexuality or alcoholism various sins like that but we don't judge the person we
01:11:43judge the actions being taken we should not and cannot judge motive and the vast majority of the time
01:11:51we can't do that because we don't know the inner workings of their heart what's going on through their
01:11:56mind and things like that so not only do we not should not judge the person but we cannot judge
01:12:02the motive either person who cuts you off in traffic not because they're an idiot it's not because they
01:12:10hate you and they're trying to make you wreck you know don't judge their motive because a lot of times
01:12:15it's going to be something as simple as stressed out over a family illness or a death in the family
01:12:20or
01:12:20late to work something like that you're probably the last thing on their mind but they still cut you off
01:12:25all the same so yeah you get the example anyways judgments are not required to be made immediately
01:12:32and sometimes it's wiser and more prudent to not make a judgment immediately until you have more
01:12:39additional information about the particular situation or person or whatnot correct judging goes hand in
01:12:47hand with loving your enemy think about it judgment should be done for the purpose of correcting an
01:12:55uplifting another person judgment should not be done because you want to elevate yourself in fact
01:13:01judgment is not about you being right judgment is more about them being redeemed and corrected
01:13:08judgment is not about condemnation or rather about restoration restoring them to fellowship with the
01:13:14body restoring them to the correct walk and their path on that wall about restoration not condemnation
01:13:22when you're judging other people you don't have to be perfect to judge if it required us to be perfect
01:13:29no one could judge and the bible would not command us and direct us and regulate us to judge so
01:13:35you
01:13:36don't have to be perfect in order to judge but you cannot judge an area of someone else's life that
01:13:41you are
01:13:41still struggling with again we go back to the issue of alcoholism or thieving stealing things like that if
01:13:50you're a smoker then don't go trying to judge and correct other people for their smoking habits
01:13:57make sense correct your own self first then you can help others in correcting themselves and judging them
01:14:05take care of yourself first and foremost don't be a hypocrite that's what yeshua and paul and
01:14:11scripture time and time again tells them take care of yourself first before you try and correct other
01:14:18people now in summary of what we've learned during this particular teaching judging in context we saw a
01:14:26few different nuances of how you can take judging in scripture but in context judging means either a
01:14:34governing a group of people be pointing out an act that is against scripture or c determining the
01:14:43salvation and final reward of someone again just to reiterate the final salvation the final reward
01:14:50of someone is to be judged by yeshua alone not us biblical judging is not condemning eternal salvation
01:14:58hypercritical or hypocritical condemnation or judging by external appearances again you don't show
01:15:05partiality remember biblical judging is however about scriptural discernment so you guys keep being
01:15:13educated and you've got to be wise and experienced before you start really judging other people for
01:15:19their biblical way of life biblical judging is also about loving reproof of a brother in meekness and
01:15:27humility and finally biblical judging is upholding yahweh's standards within the community that's
01:15:33what judging within the brethren is all about we are to judge without hypocrisy judging ourselves first
01:15:40we are to judge righteous judgment not according to appearances we are to judge according to scripture
01:15:46and that is the word of yahweh not church councils not church tradition not anything that man's made up
01:15:53and i don't care who says it if they come up with a creed and says that you cannot be
01:15:59saved unless you
01:16:00hold to this creed they are false teachers and that is not about salvation because scripture is sufficient
01:16:08for salvation i don't care what the catholic church says even if they come up with a creed and say
01:16:13that you
