00:00:01So you're getting into the scriptures, you finally discover that we should be doing a
00:00:05Sabbath, but which Sabbath?
00:00:07There's all kinds of options out there.
00:00:09We've already looked at the arguments for Sunday as Sabbath, so now we're going to
00:00:14take a look at what's called the Lunar Sabbath Doctrine.
00:00:19So is the scriptures itself telling us that the Sabbath is determined by the new moon,
00:00:25or are the scriptures telling us something different?
00:00:28Well, make sure to tune in and stay tuned for this particular teaching.
00:00:33This is going to be part eight of studying the Lunar Sabbath Doctrine.
00:00:36So hang on.
00:00:38There's a lot that goes into this.
00:00:40It's going to be overwhelming sometimes, but just stick with us as we learn the God-honest
00:00:46truth about the Lunar Sabbath.
00:01:07So this teaching is going to be about the Lunar Sabbath, and this is going to be the
00:01:11starter episode for a two-part series on the Lunar Sabbath.
00:01:15And this is all part of a bigger series on the Sabbath in general, as it comes from scripture
00:01:21and as we start to study and learn more about what the Sabbath is, how to observe it, all
00:01:26the ins and outs, and stuff like that.
00:01:28So we've got a whole bunch of stuff going on, and this is just the next episode.
00:01:33And like I said, the Lunar Sabbath is going to be in two episodes, and this is the first.
00:01:38There's going to be a whole lot of information coming to you.
00:01:41And if you'd like even more information, as always, make sure to go to our website and
00:01:46click on the article post for this particular Dross, where you can find the on-demand video.
00:01:51You'll be able to find the Dross slides that you see on your screen here, and you can go
00:01:55through them at your own pace and stop at one or whatever you need to do.
00:01:59It makes it so much more convenient.
00:02:02Also, you'll be able to find on that page the notes that we took for this particular subject
00:02:06and the AI monographs that we had done, research reports on this particular subject as well,
00:02:12which has been very, very useful.
00:02:15So go check that out on our website at godhonesttruth.com.
00:02:20Now, if you're watching this live, the notes that we took are not up there yet because we
00:02:26have a bunch of notes that we are putting together and putting into this particular study
00:02:32and this particular two-episode teaching, and we don't want to spill the beans, as it
00:02:39were, about the information coming up next week or for the next episode because there
00:02:44is some bombshells, especially next episode.
00:02:50There's going to be some this time, so don't set your standards low for this episode, but
00:02:56there's going to be some really big ones coming next time, and I don't want to give
00:02:59it away too early, so once this teaching, this multi-part series on the Lunar Sabbath
00:03:06is done, then the notes will be up there, and you'll be able to have that for yourself,
00:03:09but as always, you can just take the notes as we go over them here on the teaching on
00:03:14the live stream.
00:03:14So make sure to stay tuned.
00:03:16Those are coming, but I'm going to wait until we are done with the Lunar Sabbath teaching
00:03:20before I release those so as not to let the cat out of the bag, as it were.
00:03:24So before we get started in this particular teaching, let's do a quick overview of the
00:03:28Sabbath series that we've been going over since it has been a little while since we
00:03:32did the last one.
00:03:35So during the series, we broke it up into various episodes to make it easier to understand,
00:03:39make it easier to digest, and make it easier to get through.
00:03:42Now each one has been at least an hour long, so if we did them all at one time, that
00:03:46would
00:03:46be a very long video.
00:03:48We broke them up into various episodes.
00:03:50In the first episode, we looked at Shabbat in the Tanakh, what mainstream churchianity refers
00:03:56to as the Old Testament.
00:03:58Episode two, we looked at Shabbat in the Brit Hadashah, or what mainstream churchianity refers
00:04:03to as the New Testament.
00:04:06Then we looked at Shabbat in the early centuries, and a whole bunch of good information there
00:04:10about that turning point where everything kind of went and veered off a little bit.
00:04:15So very good episode, and well, each of these are good episodes, but that one definitely
00:04:19has a bunch of good, how should I say it, illuminating information as far as this Sabbath
00:04:27goes.
00:04:28Then episode four, we looked at Shabbat, the Reformation, and also up until modern times
00:04:33and discovered some people that you probably hadn't heard about before, so that was definitely
00:04:37a good one to go back and look at as well.
00:04:39Then in episode five, we looked at some of the arguments that are commonly used to put
00:04:44forth a Sunday as Sabbath argument, I'm sorry, position, and that was the first episode in
00:04:51that one.
00:04:52And then in episode six, we did arguments for the Sunday position, the second part of that
00:04:59particular teaching.
00:05:00And now we're up to episode seven, and we're looking at the Lunar Sabbath, and this is going
00:05:05to be part A on the Lunar Sabbath teaching.
00:05:09So our objective for this particular teaching on the Lunar Sabbath is going to be to find
00:05:14what the Lunar Sabbath doctrine is, to examine the foundations that are used for the Lunar
00:05:19Sabbath, to test the Lunar Sabbath doctrine against scripture, to examine the Lunar Sabbath
00:05:25in light of logic as well.
00:05:27Then we're going to look at the Lunar Sabbath and history, and then finally consider what
00:05:31it all means.
00:05:32During this particular episode, this part A, as it were, we're only going to get through
00:05:38part ways through testing the Lunar Sabbath doctrine against scripture, and then next time
00:05:44we'll finish up with the rest of it.
00:05:46So we're going to get about halfway through this list of objectives this time, and then
00:05:50take on the rest of it in the next episode, part B, as it were.
00:05:55And before moving on, there's a few things I want to put out there and have it known before
00:06:01we really get into this particular teaching.
00:06:04Number one, this whole issue of Lunar Sabbath or non-Lunar Sabbath or whatever it is, this
00:06:11is not a salvation issue.
00:06:13If you are a Lunar Sabbatarian, if you are a Seventh-day Sabbatarian, or Lunar Sabbath
00:06:19keeper, or a Seventh-day Sabbath keeper, either way, you are my brother and sister.
00:06:24Or you are no more or less saved, depending on whichever one you are holding to, because
00:06:31this issue of the Lunar Sabbath is not a salvation issue.
00:06:35Let's put that out there right from the very beginning.
00:06:39Lunar Sabbatarians and non-Lunar Sabbatarians are all brothers and sisters of Messiah, like
00:06:42I said.
00:06:43And if you're not willing to consider something different than what you already know and look
00:06:47at some evidence for the Lunar Sabbath, then please click off this video.
00:06:51I'm not interested in people who are closed-minded.
00:06:54All you're going to be doing is wasting your time, and I don't want to waste your time.
00:06:58So go ahead and just start clicking off if you're not willing to look at some evidence
00:07:01for the Lunar Sabbath.
00:07:03Likewise, if you're not willing to consider some evidence testing the Lunar Sabbath, also
00:07:08go ahead and click off.
00:07:09You're just as closed-minded as the first, and I don't want to waste your time either.
00:07:13So if you're not willing to test some evidence that goes against what you already believe,
00:07:19this may not be the video for you.
00:07:21This is not about an appeal to the majority, which is commonly called the popular opinion,
00:07:26and is not appealed to the minority either, which is more like saying that, well, because
00:07:31a minority holds it, they're obviously oppressed because they have the truth.
00:07:35It's not about either one of those.
00:07:37This is about examining from base level what Scripture says about the Lunar Sabbath and to
00:07:43determine what the actual truth is.
00:07:46Some terminology that we're going to look at real quick and use during the course of these
00:07:52two videos or teachings on the subject of the Lunar Sabbath, we're going to be using the
00:07:57term Lunar Sabbath or Lunar Sabbatarian, and this is going to describe someone who holds to
00:08:03the doctrine of the Lunar Sabbath.
00:08:05The other term that we're going to go ahead and define right now is the Seventh-day Sabbath
00:08:10or Seventh-day Sabbatarian, and that's someone who holds to the belief that the Sabbath occurs
00:08:16every seventh day on a constantly repeating pattern.
00:08:20Now, I understand that the vast majority of Lunar Sabbatarians hold to, you know, six days
00:08:27and then Sabbath after the new moon or starting with new moon, so they consider themselves Seventh-day
00:08:32Sabbath Sabbath sabbatarians as well, but just to distinguish and differentiate during
00:08:36this particular teaching, the term Lunar Sabbath or Lunar Sabbatarian refers to someone who holds
00:08:43to the doctrine of the Lunar Sabbath, regardless of which model that is, and Seventh-day Sabbath
00:08:50or Seventh-day Sabbatarian refers to someone who is holding to a every seventh day repeating
00:08:55constantly, forever Sabbath kind of person, that kind of person.
00:09:01So, now I realize that this is, Lunar Sabbath people or those who hold to a Lunar Sabbath
00:09:09doctrine are not a monolithic block.
00:09:13They are, they hold different views and there's different nuances between different models.
00:09:18I understand that.
00:09:19So, don't believe that everyone is exactly the same regarding one particular side of the
00:09:25aisle.
00:09:25They're not.
00:09:26During this particular series, we will be getting nerdy and we're going to be getting
00:09:30in the weeds.
00:09:31There will be math involved.
00:09:33I'm just going to go ahead and warn you right now.
00:09:35There will be math involved.
00:09:36So, you have been duly warned.
00:09:39Now, since it has been a while since we have done the last episode in our Lunar, or I'm sorry,
00:09:44in our Sabbath series, let's go over some study principles just to keep in mind, especially
00:09:49during this study on the Lunar Sabbath.
00:09:54And I'm going to go over this real quick since we went over in depth in previous episodes.
00:09:58So, just bear with me.
00:10:00Stop the video or go check out the draw slides on our website if you want to stop at a
00:10:05particular
00:10:05one, but I'm going to go through this fairly quickly.
00:10:07First of all, we're going to look at the principles of a hermeneutics.
00:10:10And starting with the first one, we're going to look at the literal principle, which is
00:10:15taking the scriptures that we read in a literal meaning unless the passage or the genre dictates
00:10:23something else, like a vision or a dream or a prophecy, something like that, or poetry.
00:10:34That might dictate a different way of taking it other than literal.
00:10:38But in general, you take things in a literal fashion.
00:10:42Then we also look at the contextual principle, which means taking things into context and
00:10:47not taking just a single verse or phrase out of context.
00:10:50That is very helpful when studying stuff.
00:10:52Then we look at the principle of scriptural harmony, which means all of the scripture harmonizes
00:11:00together and is not contradictory.
00:11:04Also, it means that when you find a passage that is difficult, you can harmonize it and
00:11:10better understand it by looking at a passage that is easier to interpret and, we say, decipher.
00:11:19So that's what the principle of scriptural harmony is.
00:11:22Then we look at the grammatical principle and looking at the grammar, the syntax of the language
00:11:27that is being used at the time, which would be the Hebrew or Aramaic of the Tanakh or the Greek
00:11:33of the Brit Hadashah.
00:11:35Then we go on and look at the historical cultural principle, looking at how the people at the time
00:11:40the particular passage was written would have understood it, how the author would have meant it
00:11:44at that particular time in history and in that particular culture.
00:11:47Then we look at the genre, depending on what kind of genre it's being written in,
00:11:51whereas, like, Revelation is a prophetic and vision text, Psalms is a lot of poetry and other
00:11:59things, some could be historical, but looking at the genre that, and taking that into consideration
00:12:05anyways, when trying to interpret a particular passage.
00:12:07Then we look at the progressive Revelation principle, and this is something not to get tripped
00:12:11up on or misunderstand.
00:12:12This doesn't mean that, you know, the Bible is insufficient.
00:12:16We need the later rulings of man-made councils to understand things.
00:12:22No, that's not what it means.
00:12:23What it means is that you may not understand everything on Genesis 1, but as you go through
00:12:29the rest of the scriptures, then you start learning more and more and more and more gets revealed
00:12:35over time.
00:12:38And we look at the authorial intent.
00:12:39This pretty much goes back to the historical and cultural aspect thing that we looked at
00:12:44earlier.
00:12:45What does, or what did the author originally intend when they originally wrote what it
00:12:51is that they wrote and that we're looking at and trying to interpret.
00:12:54Now, the next thing we're going to look at is Sola Scriptura, and this means that the
00:12:58scriptures, the Bible itself, is the ultimate authority.
00:13:01It is infallible, and it's inspired autographs.
00:13:06So, not the translations come down to us.
00:13:08Those are important.
00:13:09Those are definitely helpful because not all of us speaks every language on the world or
00:13:15in the world.
00:13:16So, know that the original autograph, that is the authoritative, infallible authority that
00:13:23we go by, not man-made doctrines, not man-made councils or creeds or anything like that.
00:13:29Sola Scriptura by scripture alone.
00:13:33Now, creeds and councils can help in various commentaries, but the ultimate authority over
00:13:38top of all that is going to be scripture.
00:13:41Then we look at the distinction between descriptive and prescriptive, and this came in very important
00:13:47when we looked at the Sunday argument episodes.
00:13:50And this is also going to be very, very important as we look at the lunar Sabbath as well.
00:13:55So, descriptive will be something that describes what someone is doing that may or may not be
00:14:02something that we should do or model our lives after, but it's describing something that did
00:14:06happen, whereas prescriptive is something that we are commanded to do, we're told to do.
00:14:12It is prescribing something for us to do.
00:14:15The Ten Commandments are prescriptive.
00:14:19Do this, don't do that.
00:14:21Those are prescriptive.
00:14:22Whereas the people leaving out of Egypt and they stopped here, they did this, that's all
00:14:27descriptive.
00:14:28So, keep that distinction in mind between descriptive and prescriptive.
00:14:32Then we get into the distinction between exegesis and eisegesis.
00:14:35And exegesis is the process of drawing out the meaning of the text from the text itself.
00:14:42And eisegesis means taking your own thoughts, your own ideas, your own doctrines, and trying
00:14:47to read back into text what you want it to say.
00:14:51And that's not what we should be doing.
00:14:53We should be doing exegesis and allowing scripture to change us and not be trying to change scripture
00:15:00to fit what we want it to say.
00:15:03Then we look at the process of, or I'm sorry, the idea of anachronism.
00:15:07And this is taking something that is more modern or past the time of the scripture you're looking
00:15:13at and trying to force it back in there.
00:15:15And that's just simply incorrect.
00:15:17And it's almost a form of eisegesis, to tell you the truth.
00:15:21Then we look at confirmation bias.
00:15:23And this is something that we all have.
00:15:25And sometimes it's very subtle and it's very implicit.
00:15:30We don't know that we're doing it sometimes.
00:15:32We do all have confirmation bias and we need to be aware of that.
00:15:36So definitely look out for your own confirmation bias.
00:15:40And if you see a passage that seems to support something you already believe and someone else
00:15:45is trying to present something different, give them the time of day.
00:15:48Let them put forth their case and examine it in light of scripture and see if what they're
00:15:54saying is actually true and try to guard against your own confirmation bias.
00:16:00So that's the foundation for this teaching and just a reminder of some study principles
00:16:03to keep in mind as you're doing anything in the scriptures or anything in the Bible
00:16:08as far as studying goes, but especially in the Sabbath series and especially now as we
00:16:12get into this Lunar Sabbath study.
00:16:15So if you're just coming at this from a very fresh perspective and you have no idea of what
00:16:20the Lunar Sabbath is, well, what is the Lunar Sabbath?
00:16:24I'm glad you asked.
00:16:25Let's go ahead and define that real quick.
00:16:27The Lunar Sabbath is a calendar system doctrine, which asserts that not only does the month
00:16:33start with the siding of the first sliver of the new moon, but also the beginning of
00:16:37the week and therefore the counting for the week and Sabbath as well.
00:16:41According to the majority of Lunar Sabbatarians, the first day of the month is a non-work day
00:16:46and not a standard weekday or weekly Sabbath.
00:16:49The second day is a work day, a regular weekday, and the first day of the first week of the
00:16:55month, then the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th are the following weekly Sabbaths for that
00:17:02respective month.
00:17:03This is all in reference to the concept of the Hebraic biblical calendar and not the
00:17:08common Gregorian calendar that we use in the world today.
00:17:13Now, like I said before, Lunar Sabbatarians are not a monolithic group.
00:17:20There's some people or some Lunar Sabbatarians have a different model than what I just described
00:17:26or just a little bit.
00:17:28Anyways, the vast, what I just described is the vast majority of what I came across in
00:17:33the research, and most of the time they start with the sliver of the moon.
00:17:38That's what they consider the new moon.
00:17:41But some that I came across say that it starts with the conjunction of the moon when it's still
00:17:48dark, and others say that the month starts with the full moon.
00:17:55That could be a discussion all in itself, but what we're going with during this particular
00:18:00teaching series on the Lunar Sabbath is the more common one or the more widespread one,
00:18:06which says that it starts with the sliver of the new moon, and then on the Sabbaths for
00:18:11the week, I'm sorry, the Sabbaths for the month are the 8th, the 15th, the 22nd, and the 29th
00:18:15all the time.
00:18:17It does not change.
00:18:18It's always the 8th, always the 15th, always the 22nd, and always the 29th.
00:18:21Now, other models might have the 1st, 14th, 21st, and 28th, but again, the biggest model
00:18:30that I looked at said the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, always, forever, in a repeating pattern
00:18:36because it starts with the new moon day, and then starting counting seven after that.
00:18:41That's why it's on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.
00:18:45So, in a nutshell, just to make it even a little bit more simple to, for those of you who
00:18:51may
00:18:51just be coming at this from the very beginning, anyways, the core claim of the Lunar Sabbath
00:18:57doctrine is that the month and the week, month and the week both, resets with a monthly lunar
00:19:02cycle rather than running on an unbroken seven-day cycle.
00:19:06Day one is the new moon and a non-work day, neither a standard work day nor a weekly Sabbath.
00:19:13It's just a new moon day, in other words.
00:19:17And then, days two through seven are the six standard work days of that week, where day
00:19:24two is work day number one.
00:19:26Then the fixed Sabbaths occur on the 8th, the 15th, the 22nd, and the 29th of every lunar month.
00:19:34And again, the 8th, 15th, and 22nd, and 29th of every biblical month must always be weekly
00:19:40Sabbaths, rest, of which no regular work or heavy labor is to take place.
00:19:44And all the commands and regulations in Scripture regarding Sabbaths apply here in this particular
00:19:53model as well.
00:19:54For those of you who like a visual style learning, that's me included, here's a calendar that
00:20:01lines up with this model of the Lunar Sabbath.
00:20:05There's the Lunar Sabbath model that we're looking at anyways, which is the most common one
00:20:09that I run across.
00:20:10You look up there, day one, that is the first sliver of the new moon, when the new moon
00:20:15is sighted, and that is the new moon day.
00:20:17It's not a work day.
00:20:20It's not a Sabbath day.
00:20:21It's just simply a new moon day.
00:20:25And then on the second is the first day of the week, running all the way through the
00:20:28eighth, which would be the seventh day of that particular week, making it a Sabbath.
00:20:33Then it goes on to the ninth through the fifteenth, and the sixteenth through the twenty-second,
00:20:37and the twenty-third through the twenty-ninth.
00:20:39Now, lunar months are not like the months in our Gregorian calendar.
00:20:46Lunar months are either twenty-nine or thirty days long.
00:20:49And it's all dependent on when it's sighted.
00:20:52So some months have twenty-nine days.
00:20:55In the Hebrite calendar, in this Lunar Sabbath calendar, some months have twenty-nine days,
00:21:00other months have thirty days.
00:21:02And this is something that also lines up with what we find in Scripture as well, which we'll
00:21:07look at here in just a moment.
00:21:09But it's important to note that in this Lunar Sabbath model, the first day is not a work
00:21:15day, a weekday, or a Sabbath day.
00:21:18It's just a new moon day.
00:21:20Keep that in mind.
00:21:22And number two, another very important thing to understand about this is that every Sabbath
00:21:27for the month is on the eighth, fifteenth, twenty-second, and twenty-ninth, and cannot
00:21:31in any way be any other day.
00:21:35Those are some of the most important things to understand right here.
00:21:39And there's a visual representation of a Lunar Sabbath calendar, and that'll be coming up
00:21:44more as we go through this particular teaching when it is appropriate.
00:21:49So what is, that's what the Lunar Sabbath doctrine is.
00:21:52So what is the foundations of which the Lunar Sabbath doctrine is built?
00:21:57Where do they actually get this idea and this doctrine from?
00:22:01Well, let's look at some Scripture.
00:22:03Let's look at number one, starting at the very beginning in Genesis.
00:22:06And this comes from Genesis chapter 1, verses 14 to 18.
00:22:11And Elohim said,
00:22:12Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens, to separate the day from the night,
00:22:16and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years, and let them be for
00:22:21lights in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth.
00:22:24And it came to be so.
00:22:25And Elohim made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light
00:22:30to rule the night, and the stars.
00:22:31And Elohim set them in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth, and to rule over
00:22:36the day, and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness.
00:22:40And Elohim saw that it was good.
00:22:44Notice here, in the very beginning of this passage, it says that Elohim created lights
00:22:50in the heavens, and they were to separate the day from the night, and they were to be
00:22:54for the signs and appointed times.
00:22:58That's an important thing to keep in mind here when it comes to the Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
00:23:02And this appointed times here is, in Hebrew, what's referred to as Moedim.
00:23:07And you can actually see that when I put up the Westminster-Leningrad Codex there, you
00:23:11can see it says Moedim.
00:23:14And for further verification about this, and just to get more in-depth and specific on
00:23:20the moon itself, we go and look at Psalms 104, verse 19.
00:23:26He made the moon for appointed times.
00:23:28The sun knows it's going down.
00:23:31So, further verification that the moon is for appointed times, or Moedim.
00:23:37And just to back that up, I've highlighted there in the Hebrew the word for moon, and
00:23:42also the word for Moedim, or appointed times.
00:23:46It's clear, crystal clear, that the moon is for appointed times, as we saw back in Genesis,
00:23:51and now we see here in Psalms 104.
00:23:55Some further evidence of what we're talking about here, as far as the Lunar Sabbath doctrine
00:23:59goes, we look at Leviticus chapter 23, verses 2 through 3.
00:24:04Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, the appointed times of Yahweh, which
00:24:09you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, my appointed times are these.
00:24:14Six days' work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a set-apart gathering.
00:24:18You do no work.
00:24:20It is a Sabbath to Yahweh in all your dwellings.
00:24:23So, the weekly, I'm sorry, the, I guess you say weekly or regular Sabbath, is listed as
00:24:30an appointed time here in Leviticus 23.
00:24:32And if you don't believe me, you can always just go and read it in whatever translation
00:24:36you got.
00:24:36It says the exact same thing.
00:24:38And again, this word here in Hebrew for Sabbath is Shabbat.
00:24:43And again, the word for appointed time is Moedim, or Moed.
00:24:48Here, it's got the conjugation of Moedim, which is my appointed time.
00:24:53That's how you do it, or conjugate it in Hebrew anyways.
00:24:55But it's all the same thing.
00:24:57It's pointing to the Sabbath being one of the appointed times, of which we already saw
00:25:03that the moon is a sign for guiding the appointed times, or the Moedim.
00:25:09Some further verification here, or I'm sorry, some further basis for the foundation of the
00:25:14lunar Sabbath, we look at Exodus chapter 16, or we'll be jumping around through various
00:25:19sections.
00:25:19We're going to look at verse 1, verse 4 through 5, verse 13, verses 21 through 23, and verse
00:25:2530.
00:25:27And they set out from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Yisrael came to the wilderness
00:25:31of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the 15th day of the second new moon, after
00:25:36they're going out of the land of Mizraim.
00:25:38And Yahweh said to Mosheh, See, I am raining bread from the heavens for you, and the people
00:25:43shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, in order to try them, whether they walk
00:25:48in my Torah or not.
00:25:50And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall
00:25:54be twice as much as they gather daily.
00:25:57And it came to be that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the
00:26:01dew lay all around the camp.
00:26:03And they gathered it every morning, each one according to his need.
00:26:07And when the sun became hot, it melted.
00:26:09And it came to be on the sixth day that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for
00:26:14each one.
00:26:15And all the rulers of the congregation came and told Mosheh, and he said to them, This
00:26:20is what Yahweh has said, Tomorrow is a rest, a Sabbath set apart to Yahweh.
00:26:26That which you bake, bake, and that which you cook, cook, and lay up for yourselves all that
00:26:30is left over to keep it until morning.
00:26:32So the people rested on the seventh day.
00:26:36So how does this play in to the foundation of the Lunar Sabbath Doctrine?
00:26:40Well, as you go through this particular passage, you see they're coming out of Egypt.
00:26:44They're heading toward the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai.
00:26:50And we see that it's in the second month after they came out of Egypt, and it's on the
00:26:5515th day when they get there.
00:26:57That's something to keep in mind, okay?
00:26:58They get there on the 15th day, and they start whining.
00:27:01They start complaining.
00:27:02And so Yahweh says, I'm going to teach you my Sabbath now that you've come out, and you
00:27:08can start learning.
00:27:09I'm going to teach you my Sabbath by giving you manna and quail.
00:27:12And in order to teach you my Sabbath, you're going to gather manna for six days, but none
00:27:18on the Sabbath.
00:27:19So on the sixth day, make sure to gather enough for two days, so to cover day six and day
00:27:26seven, the Sabbath.
00:27:29And he tells them this, from what we can see here, on the 15th, and then the next day,
00:27:33which is the 16th, it starts raining manna.
00:27:36And that would be day one.
00:27:38So the 16th would be day one.
00:27:40Then you've got the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, and then 22nd.
00:27:4722nd would be the seventh day after that.
00:27:49I'm sorry, it would be the seven days after when this started, which would be a Sabbath.
00:27:59So if the seven days after it started is the 22nd, and it's a Sabbath, that just lays further
00:28:06credence to this model of the Lunar Sabbath Doctrine, where the Sabbath always falls on
00:28:13the 22nd, and counting backwards, that means the 15th would have also been a Sabbath, further
00:28:20lining up with the Lunar Sabbath Doctrine.
00:28:23So that's what the Lunar Sabbath Doctrine is, and also some of the scriptural foundation
00:28:27that goes into the composing of the doctrine itself.
00:28:33All of this revolves around the new moon, and a lot of people I've come to find out don't
00:28:39know that much about what the new moon is in Scripture.
00:28:43So what we're going to do now is take a quick look at what the new moon is in Scripture,
00:28:47how it's regarded, what it's used for, and this could be an entire teaching all on its
00:28:53own about just the new moon.
00:28:56And that's something that we probably should be doing, and look for that coming up here
00:29:00probably next season on God Honest Truth.
00:29:03But for right now, we're just going to do a brief overview of what the new moon is in
00:29:08Scripture, and how it's treated, what it's used for, all that kind of stuff.
00:29:12As we look at the various passages in Scripture, and we'll go over some of these coming up here
00:29:18in just a moment, but we see that number one, the new moon is a guide for appointed times,
00:29:23because it starts the month, then that's how you know when the 14th is of the month, so
00:29:29you can have Passover, or the 10th of the month is to have Yom Kippurim, etc., etc.
00:29:35So the new moon is used as a guide for appointed times, or Moedim.
00:29:40On the new moon, this is also a special day.
00:29:43It's a Moed itself, actually.
00:29:46And during the new moon celebration, you are to sound the shofar and things like that, make
00:29:52a joyful shout, joyful noise, or like at Yom Teruah, but this is every single month, actually.
00:29:59You also, I'm sorry, in Scripture, there's also special offerings and sacrifices that
00:30:04are prescribed.
00:30:04We'll go over a couple of those in just a minute.
00:30:06We can also see in Scripture that we'll look at here in a moment, that it's a time for feasting,
00:30:13fellowship, and seeking the word, instruction in Yahweh's word.
00:30:17And we also see it sometimes tied to prophetic and future worship as well.
00:30:23Let's look at some of those Scriptures real quick, especially the, or starting out with
00:30:27the one, the point that the new moon is a guide for appointed times.
00:30:31We look at, again, at Genesis 1, verse 14, and Elohim said,
00:30:36Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens, to separate the day from the night,
00:30:39and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years.
00:30:44Then in Psalms 104, 19, one more time,
00:30:48He made the moon for appointed times, the sun knows it's going down.
00:30:53And then as far as what to do on a new moon celebration, the sounding, the trumpet, or
00:30:58the shofar, we look in Numbers chapter 10, verse 10,
00:31:01And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed times, and at the beginning of
00:31:05your new moons, you shall blow the trumpets over your ascending offerings, and over your
00:31:09slaughterings of peace offerings, and they shall be a remembrance for you before your
00:31:13Elohim.
00:31:14I am Yahweh, your Elohim.
00:31:16And then also in Psalms 81, 3,
00:31:18Blow a shofar in the new moon, in the covering for the day of our festival.
00:31:24And then also, since the new moon celebration in Scripture is a moed, there are special offerings
00:31:30and sacrifices that go along with this particular celebration.
00:31:34And again, that's if the tabernacle or the temple was still standing.
00:31:37Of course, we can't do it now because there's no priesthood, no temple.
00:31:41But when it was standing, these are the offerings and sacrifices that were commanded.
00:31:45We look at Numbers chapter 28, verses 11 through 15.
00:31:49And on the beginnings of your new moons, you bring near an ascending offering to Yahweh,
00:31:54two young bulls and one ram and seven lambs a year old, perfect ones, three tenths of an
00:31:59ephah of fine flour as a grain offering mixed with oil for each bull, two tenths of an ephah
00:32:04of fine flour as a grain offering mixed with oil for the one ram, and one tenth of an ephah
00:32:09of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering for each lamb, as an ascending offering of sweet
00:32:14fragrance and offering made by fire to Yahweh.
00:32:17And their drink offering is a half a hen of wine for a bull and one third of a hen
00:32:22for a ram
00:32:23and one fourth of a hen for a lamb.
00:32:26This is the ascending offering for each new moon throughout the new moons of the year.
00:32:30And one male goat as a sin offering to Yahweh is prepared besides the continual ascending
00:32:36offering and its drink offering.
00:32:39So there were special offerings and sacrifices that went along with this.
00:32:43Now, as we mentioned earlier, the new moon celebration was also a time for getting together
00:32:48and getting instruction and stuff like that.
00:32:50A few examples that we can see from scripture here is 1 Samuel chapter 20, verse 5.
00:32:55And Dawid said to Yonathan,
00:32:57See, tomorrow is the new moon, and I ought to sit with the sovereign to eat, but let me
00:33:02go, and I shall hide in the field until the third day at evening.
00:33:05Now, there's a whole bunch of stuff going on in this particular story, but we can see here
00:33:09that it was actually rather customary for David to go and eat or feast with the king on
00:33:15the new moon.
00:33:16So they were getting together.
00:33:17We can also see in 2 Kings chapter 4, verse 23, and he said, Why are you going to him
00:33:23today?
00:33:24It is neither the new moon nor the Sabbath.
00:33:26And she said it as well.
00:33:28I apologize for that.
00:33:29I should have put more context there.
00:33:31But anyways, they're going to see the prophet and they have the presumption that you only
00:33:37go see the prophet on a new moon or a Sabbath to receive instruction, not on just any regular
00:33:42day.
00:33:42But they were going anyways.
00:33:45So here we see they have the custom of going on a new moon to receive instruction from a
00:33:50teacher, in this case, a prophet.
00:33:52Now, one thing I do want to point out here is that these examples and other examples we
00:33:57see in scripture of getting together on a new moon are descriptive in nature, not prescriptive.
00:34:05So keep that in mind.
00:34:07This is not saying that, you know, thou shalt get together with the king on the new moon.
00:34:13Nothing like that.
00:34:14This is just describing what people did on a new moon celebration.
00:34:19Another thing I want to point out and have you look at this is coming from what we've just
00:34:26presented to you about the new moon.
00:34:28And it goes a lot more in depth.
00:34:29And I invite you to go do your own study in that.
00:34:32And hopefully we'll have an episode coming up within the next year about this.
00:34:35But notice that when you look at the new moon celebration or the new moon, Moedim, in
00:34:40scripture, a couple of things come up that people are mistaken about a lot of times or
00:34:47incorrect about.
00:34:48I'm not really sure the best way to put that.
00:34:49But they think that the new moon is a rest day.
00:34:53And it's not.
00:34:55There is no command in scripture that the new moon be a type of Sabbath or a Shabbaton, a
00:35:02minor Sabbath or anything like that, like a feast day.
00:35:05You know, on Passover, you got on the first and seventh days, you have rest days, regardless
00:35:11of what day of the week it is.
00:35:13On Yom Kippurim, you have a rest day, even though it's not a Sabbath.
00:35:19You also have I'm sorry, even if it doesn't fall on Sabbath, then on Sukkot, as we just
00:35:26got done learning not too long ago, the first day and the eighth day are Sabbaths as well.
00:35:32But this rest day is not prescribed or told, commanded to us as far as the new moon goes.
00:35:39That's important to know, because we look all throughout the Torah as for the commandments
00:35:43and the prescriptions surrounding the new moon celebration.
00:35:46There is no command to, you know, rest or to have a sort of Sabbath on the new moon.
00:35:53Another thing to keep in mind, too, and look this up in the Torah, if you don't believe me.
00:35:58But as far as the new moon commandments go in the Torah, what we are prescribed and commanded
00:36:03to do.
00:36:04We are not told to refrain from commerce.
00:36:11Shocker.
00:36:12I know.
00:36:14By all means, it's going to be shocking sometimes, but is not commanded that we do not buy and
00:36:22sell on the new moon celebration.
00:36:26You will not find that in the Torah.
00:36:30And I know what some of you out there are thinking.
00:36:32You're thinking about, OK, well, this particular verse is coming up.
00:36:35I know this particular verse and we'll get to that.
00:36:38Not this episode.
00:36:39It'll be next episode.
00:36:40I promise you we'll get to that.
00:36:41But just know that in the Torah and all the commandments regarding the new moon celebration,
00:36:46there is no command to refrain from buying or selling.
00:36:50And there's no command to rest on the day of the new moon.
00:36:54So just keep that in mind as we go forward, as you learn more about the new moon celebrations.
00:37:00Now, one thing I do want to point out is that culturally, it eventually became a day of rest
00:37:07and no commerce in Israel, but it's not commanded.
00:37:10And I don't know exactly how long it took to become like that.
00:37:14But again, that's the distinction between tradition and what scripture says also.
00:37:19So now moving on, let's start doing some testing on the Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
00:37:25And as always, and this is something I really got to applaud those who hold to the Lunar Sabbath.
00:37:32They always say that scripture should be what we go off of to determine the doctrine.
00:37:36And I completely agree.
00:37:38So let's go ahead and look at this and test the Lunar Sabbath doctrine according to scripture.
00:37:47First thing we're going to look at is testing it against what we see in the creation week.
00:37:53So just a quick synopsis of what went on during creation week.
00:37:56On day one, the heavens and the earth were created.
00:37:59And take special note here that in Genesis 1, 1 through 5, during day one,
00:38:05we clearly read that light was created.
00:38:10Not stars, not sun, not moon, but light.
00:38:14Light in general.
00:38:15Keep that in mind.
00:38:16It's going to come up to be a very important point in just a moment.
00:38:20And then on day two, the expanse was created to separate the waters above and the waters below.
00:38:25You know how that goes.
00:38:26On day three, the waters were gathered together.
00:38:28Dry land appears and plants are created and appear.
00:38:32Then on day four, lights in the heavens are created.
00:38:36What lights are these?
00:38:37These are the sun, the moon, and the stars.
00:38:42And they're set in the heavens.
00:38:44And they're to be for signs and for appointed times, as we read earlier.
00:38:52This is something important to take note of.
00:38:54The moon, the sun, and the stars were created on day four.
00:38:59But there was already light and dark before this, since day one.
00:39:05So keep that in mind.
00:39:07We're going to look at day five.
00:39:08Aquatic creatures were created and also fowl or birds, aerial creatures were created.
00:39:15Then on day six, the land creatures were created and also humans were created as well.
00:39:21Yay, humans.
00:39:22And then on day seven, Yahweh himself ceases his work of creating.
00:39:29He blesses the seventh day and he sets it apart or makes it holy, in other words.
00:39:35And this is the very first thing that was ever blessed or set apart.
00:39:40This is the very first Sabbath.
00:39:42And this is the example that was given to us and is the connection that is made in Exodus 20
00:39:48when we are given the Ten Commandments.
00:39:50So some important points to consider as far as creation week goes.
00:39:57And if you have an opinion or interpretation, then by all means, let me know.
00:40:01But here's some points that I would like to bring up for you to consider.
00:40:05Number one, the moon wasn't created until day four.
00:40:10Why is this important?
00:40:10Well, if we go back and we think about the Lunar Sabbath doctrine, the model asserts that there's the new
00:40:20moon and then seven days after the new moon, that's when the first Sabbath of the biblical month occurs, on
00:40:28the eighth day.
00:40:31That doesn't jive what we see within the creation week because the moon and creation week was created on day
00:40:38four and the first Sabbath was three days after that.
00:40:42Now, some of the pushback that might come is that when the moon was created, maybe it was created in
00:40:48the phase it was supposed to be.
00:40:50And then after that, it got into sync that we were supposed to be in with the Lunar Sabbath model.
00:40:57But we're not told that.
00:40:58In all fairness, we're not actually told what phase the moon was in when it was created.
00:41:03But if ever the moon was to be considered a new moon, it would have been when it was first
00:41:13created and brand spanking new.
00:41:16It even had that new moon smell right on day four.
00:41:19So that's an important point to consider there.
00:41:22But again, it does not specify what phase the moon was in.
00:41:27I'll give you that.
00:41:29However, another thing to keep in mind, another important point, I think, to bring up and for you to consider
00:41:34is that light existed on day one before the sun and the moon and the stars were created and put
00:41:41in the heavens, which was on day four.
00:41:44Light existed long before, three days before on day one.
00:41:49That is how long light has been around.
00:41:51Light has been around longer than the sun and the moon.
00:41:54And as such, there were days that existed before the sun and moon.
00:42:02Remember, sun and moon weren't created until day four.
00:42:05But on day one, it says the evening and the morning were day one.
00:42:10That's when light was created.
00:42:12And on day two, the evening and the morning were day two.
00:42:15Day three, the evening and the morning were day three.
00:42:18There was already three days of light and dark to come.
00:42:23That's what a day is comprised of, right?
00:42:25Twenty four hour period of dark and light.
00:42:29Obviously, we can see from creation week that sun and moon are not required for that.
00:42:34So it was.
00:42:35Three days there that existed before the month, this moon and the sun were even created.
00:42:41And light existed long before the sun and moon were created.
00:42:46The seventh day, as we see in the creation week, is the seventh day of creation.
00:42:52The seventh day of light, not the seventh or the eighth day after the moon was created.
00:43:00Think about that.
00:43:03Evening and morning are a day.
00:43:05And there were six days and then the seventh day.
00:43:10That's important to keep in mind, I think, because it was only three days after the moon was created when
00:43:17the first Sabbath occurred.
00:43:19Another important thing to keep in mind.
00:43:23So there was just there was more than just the moon declared as a light as well.
00:43:28Keep in mind that it's not just the moon that we go by for signs and appointed times.
00:43:33We're also to go by the sun and we can also use the stars as well.
00:43:38Don't ask me how to use the stars.
00:43:40I'm not an 18th century sailor, but, you know, you can use the stars as signs as well.
00:43:46Something I probably got to learn more about.
00:43:48Anyway, there was more than just the moon that was declared as a light and as a sign and a
00:43:53guide for the appointed times.
00:43:55The seventh day was memorialized from the very beginning of Yahweh's creative work.
00:44:00And it was memorialized on the seventh day after six days of creation.
00:44:06And these days are composed of light and dark, irregardless of a sun or a moon.
00:44:14So let's look at Exodus chapter 20, verses 8 through 11.
00:44:18You're probably already familiar with this, but we're going to look at it anyways.
00:44:22Remember the Sabbath day to set it apart.
00:44:24Six days you labor and shall do all your work.
00:44:26But the seventh day is a Sabbath of Yahweh your Elohim.
00:44:29You do not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female
00:44:34servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
00:44:37For in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and
00:44:43rested the seventh day.
00:44:45Therefore, Yahweh blessed the seventh day and set it apart.
00:44:49All right, so why do we have this pattern of six days and then a Sabbath?
00:44:53Because it's a memorialization of what Yahweh did in the creation week.
00:44:59And it's been like that ever since everything was created.
00:45:04Six days, then a Sabbath.
00:45:05Six days, then a Sabbath.
00:45:06Six days, then a Sabbath.
00:45:07Unfortunately, the Lunar Sabbath model, every single Lunar Sabbath model, breaks this command of six days and then a Sabbath.
00:45:18And you'll see why coming up here a little bit later.
00:45:21And it's because there are actually eight or nine days in a Lunar Sabbath week sometimes.
00:45:28And, yeah, it completely breaks the six days and then a Sabbath model.
00:45:32And there's objections to what I just brought up.
00:45:34We'll get to that a little bit later on.
00:45:36But just know it breaks this command here of the commandment in the Ten Commandments here.
00:45:44So, it doesn't read in the Ten Commandments about the Sabbath.
00:45:48It doesn't read, six days after the new moon, thou shalt work, but the seventh is a Sabbath.
00:45:52Nothing like that.
00:45:53A day, as we already intimated, a day is evening and morning as shown in creation week and irrespective of
00:46:01the sun and moon or even the stars.
00:46:03Days one through three were still days, even though the sun and the moon and stars had yet to be
00:46:08created.
00:46:09The command in the Ten Commandments is undeniably tied to six days and then the Sabbath.
00:46:16There's absolutely zero connection to the moon and the Sabbath either in the creation week or in the Ten Commandments.
00:46:24And, again, you look at creation week and it's not seven days after the moon was created.
00:46:28We look at the Ten Commandments and it doesn't say seven days after the new moon.
00:46:33Nothing like that.
00:46:34No, it's a repeating pattern of six days and then the Sabbath.
00:46:39So, that is how the whole concept of creation week and the commandment or the Sabbath and the Ten Commandments
00:46:49correlates or doesn't correlate or how you think that goes with the concept of the Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
00:46:56Another thing we want to look at and examine and test against the Lunar Sabbath doctrine is the Exodus from
00:47:03Egypt.
00:47:03We already read this.
00:47:04We looked at some of the foundations that are used for building the Lunar Sabbath doctrine, but it bears repeating.
00:47:11And let's look at it again, but look at it some more in detail.
00:47:15What we looked at earlier, let's read it again.
00:47:17Again, this is Exodus chapter 16, and we're going to be jumping around through several different verses, just taking out
00:47:23the irrelevant parts as far as our study here goes.
00:47:26We're going to be looking at Exodus chapter 16, verses 1, 4 through 5, 13, 21 through 23, and verse
00:47:3330.
00:47:35And they set out from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Yisrael came to the wilderness of
00:47:39Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second new moon, after they're going out
00:47:45of the land of Mizraim.
00:47:47And Yahweh said to Moshe, See, I am raining bread from the heavens for you, and the people shall go
00:47:52out and gather a day's portion every day, in order to try them, whether they walk in my Torah or
00:47:58not.
00:47:58And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be
00:48:03twice as much as they gather daily.
00:48:04And it came to be that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the
00:48:09dew lay all around the camp.
00:48:11And they gathered it every morning, each one according to his need, and when the sun became hot, it melted.
00:48:16And it came to be on the sixth day that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each
00:48:21one, and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moshe, and he said to them,
00:48:25This is what Yahweh has said, Tomorrow is a rest, a Sabbath, set apart to Yahweh, that which you bake,
00:48:31bake, and that which you cook, cook, and lay up for yourselves all that is left over to keep it
00:48:36until morning.
00:48:37So the people rested on the seventh day.
00:48:39Okay, that's what we read earlier, but let's look at it more in detail and look at some different points
00:48:45to consider on this particular passage.
00:48:48I'm going to go to another slide, but if you want to hold that in your own Bible, then it
00:48:52might help for you to go back and look at as well.
00:48:55But some points to consider here.
00:48:58Number one, as we look at this passage, the 15th in Scripture is not referred to as a Sabbath.
00:49:06That's an important point to point out, as it were.
00:49:10The second month is later on, as we see in Scripture, slated, and the opportunity for a second Passover is
00:49:19put forth in the second month when this is happening now.
00:49:22The original Passover, when they left Egypt, happened in the first month.
00:49:26They're now in the second month in this passage, and as we saw, on the 15th day of the second
00:49:31month is the second chance for the second Passover.
00:49:35In case you happen to miss the first one, right?
00:49:37I mean, you guys already remember that.
00:49:40Another point.
00:49:41The start of the manna isn't specifically said to be on the 16th.
00:49:45It just says the next day, but it says they arrived on the 15th, and then it goes on to
00:49:51tell that they were complaining, but it doesn't say that they, it doesn't specifically correlate their complaining with the 15th
00:49:58and then the start of the manna on the 16th.
00:50:00So, the start of the manna in Scripture isn't specifically said to be on the 16th, and as a result,
00:50:06it doesn't mean that the 7th day isn't the 22nd either, because in Scripture, the 7th day here in this
00:50:15passage isn't specifically said to be the 22nd.
00:50:18That's something important to keep in mind.
00:50:20We'll take things literally as we read them, and exegete, not eisegete.
00:50:25As far as the Sabbath goes in this passage, it's not said to be on any particular day, actually.
00:50:31The 15th, as we see, they arrived at the wilderness on the 15th.
00:50:38Now, why is that important to consider?
00:50:41Well, think about this.
00:50:42There were well over a million people traveling through the wilderness.
00:50:48Well over a million people that was arriving on the 15th day at this particular spot.
00:50:56Why is that important to consider?
00:50:57Well, think about it.
00:50:58All these people, when they're moving through the desert, they've got everything packed up.
00:51:04They've got the tabernacle packed up.
00:51:05They've got their household stuff packed up.
00:51:08They've got their livestock they're moving through.
00:51:11All kinds of stuff they've got packed up.
00:51:13So, when they set up camp and they arrive at places like this, they then pretty much have to set
00:51:18up and construct a temporary city.
00:51:23Right?
00:51:24I mean, they've got to sleep.
00:51:25They've got to set up their tents and all this other stuff.
00:51:26So, it's going to be a day of physical exertion when they arrive at a spot to set up camp.
00:51:32And that would have been, as we're told here, on the 15th.
00:51:35That's when they arrive.
00:51:36So, the 15th would have actually been a day of physical exertion.
00:51:40Now, how does that jive with the commandments that we see later on regarding the Sabbath?
00:51:46We'll get to that more in just a moment.
00:51:48Or a little bit more, anyways.
00:51:51So, on that even more, the people had not yet learned about Yahweh's Sabbath.
00:51:57This is where they actually start learning about the Sabbath.
00:51:59So, they hadn't yet learned about the Sabbath and hadn't yet got all the commandments, including the commandment to rest,
00:52:06yet.
00:52:06They might have known it before slavery in Egypt.
00:52:11But after 430 years, they would have probably forgotten a whole bunch of stuff and they were having to relearn.
00:52:17And the Sabbath is something they were especially having to relearn.
00:52:20And that's where the whole story of manna comes in to reteach them the Sabbath and what to do and
00:52:26when it was and all this other stuff.
00:52:28So, the people had not, at this point, yet learned the Sabbath and this was starting to teach them the
00:52:33Sabbath.
00:52:33And as such, the 15th being a Sabbath, assuming that it's a Sabbath, could have simply been a case of
00:52:42Yahweh overlooking ignorance.
00:52:43And as we see, there are cases for when people unintentionally sin, right?
00:52:49There's plenty of sacrifices that go on for that later on, as we see in the Torah.
00:52:54So, this very well could have been a Sabbath on the 15th, and this very well could have been a
00:53:00case of Yahweh just overlooking their own ignorance.
00:53:05And in my personal opinion, take it how you will, but in my personal opinion, I think the plain reading
00:53:12would indicate that the 15th was a weekly Sabbath.
00:53:17Because, as we read earlier, the way it reads, the plain reading, they get on the 15th, they complain.
00:53:23The next day, as it says, it starts the manna, and then they gather it for six days, and seven
00:53:29days after that is a Sabbath.
00:53:31Seven days after the 15th would have been the 22nd, and that seventh day is said to be a Sabbath,
00:53:38and so you count backwards, and that would make the 15th a Sabbath.
00:53:41So, I personally think that the 15th was a weekly Sabbath, and the 22nd was also a weekly Sabbath.
00:53:49However, that does not prove the Lunar Sabbath doctrine, and here's why.
00:53:58This passage that we just read, and the story of the people arriving at Elim, and the starting of the
00:54:03menna, and stuff like this, this is a description of only one single month.
00:54:08It's not a command that says the first Sabbath starts seven days after the new moon, or anything like that.
00:54:18It doesn't say that the Sabbaths are every 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, nothing like that.
00:54:24It's simply describing what happened during that particular month.
00:54:28It's not an actual command for the Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
00:54:34Do you understand what I'm saying?
00:54:35For this to be happening once, and yes, this particular, at least in my opinion, going off a plain reading,
00:54:43this particular passage does align with the Lunar Sabbath model that we presented earlier.
00:54:48However, just because something happens once, that could be just an isolated incident.
00:54:54If it happens twice, that could just be a coincidence.
00:54:59Still not setting a pattern yet.
00:55:02Now, if it happens three times or more, that is starting to establish a pattern.
00:55:06However, what we just looked at, that's just one case, and that's pretty much about all you can find in
00:55:13Scripture anyways.
00:55:14So, keep all those particular points in mind as we continue during this study, and also the study next week.
00:55:21Another point to bring up also, and this is still in the wilderness, in the exodus from Egypt, and this
00:55:26is probably one of the more major points regarding the Lunar Sabbath,
00:55:32and it's unfortunately not in favor of the Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
00:55:37This is the manna in the wilderness.
00:55:39They commanded to gather twice as much manna on the sixth day, and we'll explain why this is important if
00:55:46you haven't called it already.
00:55:48So, in Exodus chapter 16, verses 4 through 5,
00:56:15And it came to be on the sixth day that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each
00:56:19one,
00:56:20and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moshe, and he said to them,
00:56:24This is what Yahweh has said, Tomorrow is a rest, a Sabbath set apart to Yahweh.
00:56:28That which you bake, bake, and that which you cook, cook, and lay it for yourselves all that is left
00:56:33over to keep it until morning.
00:56:34And they laid it up till morning as Moshe commanded, and it did not stink, and no worm was in
00:56:39it.
00:56:39And Moshe said, Eat today, for today is a Sabbath to Yahweh.
00:56:43Today you do not find it in the field.
00:56:46Gather it six days, but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, there is none.
00:56:51So they were given bread for two days on the sixth day.
00:56:55Exodus chapter 16, verses 29 through 30.
00:56:58See, because Yahweh has given you the Sabbath, therefore he has given you bread for two days on the sixth
00:57:04day,
00:57:04that each one stay in his place.
00:57:06Do not let anyone go out of his place on the seventh day, so the people rested on the seventh
00:57:11day.
00:57:12Now, why is this important?
00:57:14Well, another aspect to bring up real quick, just to give you a further context of what we're talking about
00:57:19here
00:57:20in the manna in the wilderness, if we go on in chapter 16 and look at chapter 16, verse 35,
00:57:26it says,
00:57:37So far what we see with the manna in the wilderness, we're told, and see in scripture, it says,
00:57:43Gather six days, then on the seventh there is no manna.
00:57:47Six days, no manna on the seventh.
00:57:50Make sure you gather twice as much on the sixth day.
00:57:53Six days of manna, and then the seventh is no manna.
00:57:56Six days of manna, and one day of no manna.
00:57:59Get it?
00:58:00There is an established pattern there.
00:58:02Six and then none, six and then none, six and then none.
00:58:05And they did this for 40 years.
00:58:07Notice that there is no special exception for any other pattern.
00:58:16Okay?
00:58:16What I mean by that is look at this calendar again.
00:58:19This is a lunar Sabbath calendar, and again,
00:58:21there are either 29 or 30 days in a lunar month.
00:58:28I should rephrase that also as a biblical month or a Hebraic month, whatever you want to put it.
00:58:33That's the way that you get a lunar month from scripture.
00:58:38Now, the calendar in scripture, as far as we can tell, is not a lunar calendar.
00:58:43It's also not a solar calendar.
00:58:45It's a luni-solar calendar.
00:58:47It's a combination between those.
00:58:49Remember, it's both the sun and the moon.
00:58:52But a lunar month is about 29 days or even 30 days.
00:58:57I think it's 29.4 if you want to get technical about it.
00:59:01But each month is going to be 29 days or 30 days.
00:59:05In a lunar Sabbath system, this would put certain weeks at either eight days or nine days.
00:59:16Because at the end, if you got 30 days, remember, the last Sabbath would have been on the 29th.
00:59:22Then you've got day 30, which you would gather manna.
00:59:26And then you would have a new moon day, which again is not a Sabbath day.
00:59:30So supposedly you'd gather manna on the new moon day.
00:59:35And then you would have the start of your week, which would be another six days.
00:59:40So you had three and another three.
00:59:42That's eight days before you get to the next Sabbath.
00:59:46Now, what does scripture say about gathering on the eighth day?
00:59:50It doesn't.
00:59:50It doesn't say anything about an eight-day week.
00:59:53And that's even, that's a contradiction in and of itself that we'll get into next time.
00:59:58So this pattern we see in the manna, it says gather for six and then you get none on the
01:00:03Sabbath.
01:00:04And this whole exercise of manna in the wilderness was to teach the people the Sabbath day, Yahweh's Sabbath day,
01:00:11when it was six days and then the Sabbath, six days and then the Sabbath, six days and then the
01:00:15Sabbath.
01:00:15A pattern that's continued on down through scripture.
01:00:18Again, there's nothing in scripture about an eight or nine day week and what to do with the manna or
01:00:25about the manna in such a circumstance.
01:00:27It says only gather twice as much on the sixth or the seventh is a Sabbath to Yahweh.
01:00:33A special instruction would have had to have had, have been given if the lunar Sabbath doctrine were true, especially
01:00:41during a 40 year span.
01:00:43You do one or two months, you could squeeze that and make it work, right?
01:00:48But not 40 years, there'd be a whole bunch of eight or nine day weeks there.
01:00:54And remember, this did this happen for 40 years and there was zero indication that there was any issue due
01:01:01to an eight or nine day week before the Sabbath came around.
01:01:04So, never anything said such as you are given bread for two days on the eighth or ninth day for
01:01:10the extra long week.
01:01:12Nothing like that in scripture.
01:01:13So, this issue of the manna in the wilderness and the people learning Yahweh's Sabbath as they come out of
01:01:21Egypt,
01:01:22it completely, it's very, very strong evidence against the doctrine of the lunar Sabbath.
01:01:29I'll put it that way.
01:01:32And if you, if you stay with me until the end of the, of this particular episode, I'll explain, you
01:01:38know,
01:01:39one, this has kind of been a little bit difficult for me, but yeah, there's nothing about in scripture about
01:01:45an eight or nine day week.
01:01:47And especially with the manna and when to gather it, it only says on the sixth day, gather twice as
01:01:51much because the seventh day is a Sabbath.
01:01:54Six days, Sabbath, six days, Sabbath, six days, Sabbath, done.
01:01:59Nothing else.
01:02:00And that is very, very detrimental evidence against the doctrine of the lunar Sabbath.
01:02:07So, some people who hold to the lunar Sabbath might push back and say, okay, so what did the Israelites
01:02:13do for Yom Kippurim if the manna was for two days for the Sabbath, right?
01:02:18During the regular week, you have six days and then the Sabbath, six days and the Sabbath.
01:02:21But Yom Kippurim does not play well in either system, either the seventh day Sabbath system or a lunar Sabbath
01:02:30system, right?
01:02:32So, how, what did the Israelites do for Yom Kippurim?
01:02:36You know, if it was only to be gathered twice as much on the sixth day for the Sabbath day.
01:02:42Okay, well, let's look at that.
01:02:44Let's look at the instructions for the various feast days real quick.
01:02:48And let's start out with Passover and Shavuot.
01:02:51Passover, we'll look at Leviticus 23, verses 6 through 8.
01:03:18And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheep of the wave offering,
01:03:22you shall count for yourselves seven completed Sabbaths until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath, you count 50 days.
01:03:28Then you shall bring a new grain offering to Yahweh.
01:03:31And on the same day, you shall proclaim a set-apart gathering for yourselves.
01:03:34You do no servile work on it, a law forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
01:03:40Now, before we go on, let's take note of something to pay close attention to.
01:03:45It says here, you do no servile work.
01:03:49Remember, the first day and the last day of Pesach and the first day and last day of Shavuot are
01:03:54what they refer to as high days or like minor Sabbaths, stuff like that.
01:03:58It's where you do no servile work, but you still can eat.
01:04:02Okay, keep that in mind.
01:04:04It's not like a regular Sabbath, and we'll get to that in just a moment, too.
01:04:07But moving on, let's look at the Feast of Yom Teruah and the Feast of Sukkot.
01:04:12For Yom Teruah, we look at Leviticus 23, verses 24 and 25.
01:04:17Speak to the children of Yisrael, saying,
01:04:20In the seventh new moon, on the first day of the new moon, you have a rest, a remembrance of
01:04:24Teruah.
01:04:24You do no servile work.
01:04:26You shall bring an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
01:04:29Now, for Sukkot, we look at Leviticus 23, verses 34 through 36.
01:04:34Speak to the children of Yisrael, saying,
01:04:36On the fifteenth day of the seventh new moon is the festival of Sukkot for seven days to Yahweh.
01:04:41On the first day is a set-apart gathering.
01:04:43You do no servile work.
01:04:45For seven days you bring an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
01:04:48On the eighth day there shall be a set-apart gathering for you,
01:04:51and you shall bring an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
01:04:54It is a closing festival.
01:04:56You do no servile work.
01:05:00Again, there is the commandment here for Yom Teruah and also for Sukkot is that you do no servile work.
01:05:09And for Sukkot, it's the first day and the eighth day, the first day and the last day.
01:05:13Do no servile work, but it does not forbid eating.
01:05:17And it also does not forbid cooking.
01:05:19So keep that in mind.
01:05:20Same as for Passover and Shavuot.
01:05:22You rest, but you can still cook and eat.
01:05:25You just don't do any servile work.
01:05:27That's the same for Passover, Shavuot, Yom Teruah, Sukkot.
01:05:31You're sitting here for yourself.
01:05:32Now this is all, you know, considering that it does not fall on a weekly Sabbath.
01:05:39Keep that in mind too.
01:05:40So now let's look at Shabbat, a weekly Sabbath.
01:05:43Exodus chapter 16, verse 23.
01:05:45And he said to them, this is what Yahweh has said.
01:05:48Tomorrow is a rest, a Sabbath set apart to Yahweh.
01:05:51That what you bake, bake.
01:05:52And that what you cook, cook.
01:05:54And lay it for yourselves, all that is left over to keep it until morning.
01:05:58And then we look at Exodus chapter 35, verse 3.
01:06:00Do not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.
01:06:06So what we learn from this?
01:06:07Well, on the regular weekly Sabbath, there is to be no cooking, right?
01:06:12It doesn't say you can't eat.
01:06:14It just says, don't cook.
01:06:16However, on the feast days that we looked at, Passover, Shavuot, Yom Teruah, Sukkot, etc., etc.
01:06:23You have a command to rest, but you can cook.
01:06:28You can cook your foods.
01:06:29Don't do any servile work.
01:06:30You see the distinction there?
01:06:32Yeah, that's the difference between Shabbat and the feast days that we looked at so far.
01:06:37So what about Yom Kippurim?
01:06:38Let's go back to the pushback that we looked at earlier.
01:06:41What about Yom Kippurim?
01:06:42How would that have applied to the manna and the wilderness?
01:06:46Well, let's look at the commandments and the restrictions that go along with Yom Kippurim.
01:06:50Let's look at Leviticus chapter 23, verses 27 through 32.
01:06:54On the tenth day of this seventh new moon is Yom Kippurim.
01:06:58It shall be a set-apart gathering for you, and you shall afflict your beings, and shall bring an offering
01:07:03made by fire to Yahweh.
01:07:04And you do no work on that same day, for it is Yom Kippurim, to make atonement for you before
01:07:11Yahweh your Elohim.
01:07:12For any being who is not afflicted on that same day, he shall be cut off from his people, and
01:07:17any being who does any work on that same day, that being I shall destroy from the midst of his
01:07:22people.
01:07:23You do no work, a law forever, throughout your generations and all your dwellings.
01:07:27It is a Sabbath of rest to you, and you shall afflict your beings on the ninth day of the
01:07:32new moon at evening.
01:07:34From evening to evening, you observe your Sabbath.
01:07:38So what can you tell from this, and how does it relate to the prescription for the regular Sabbath, and
01:07:46also the prescriptions for the feast days?
01:07:48Well, in contrast to the other feast days, Yom Kippurim here says you do no work.
01:07:56It doesn't say do no servile work, it says you do no work.
01:08:00And actually, if you look in the Hebrew, it says Shabbat Shabbaton, meaning a Sabbath of complete rest.
01:08:09So here, I would actually say that this is also another day which you do not cook.
01:08:16But notice, it does not say that you cannot eat.
01:08:22So you don't cook, but you can still eat.
01:08:25Just like with a regular Sabbath, a regular weekly Sabbath.
01:08:28So how does this correlate and fit in with the manna in the wilderness?
01:08:31Did they have to gather twice as much on the day before Yom Kippurim?
01:08:36Nope.
01:08:38Think about it.
01:08:39When they got the original commandment for the manna, it says gather twice as much on the sixth day because
01:08:48there is none on the seventh day that comes down.
01:08:52That's to teach them the Sabbath.
01:08:54And they also weren't to cook on the Sabbath as well.
01:08:59But, think about this.
01:09:01If Yom Kippurim did not fall on a weekly Sabbath, and instead just fell during a regular weekday, the manna
01:09:11still would have come down.
01:09:12Right?
01:09:13And they could have eaten the manna raw without cooking it.
01:09:18And they did because it's described as what it tastes like.
01:09:22We'll look at that in Exodus chapter 16, verse 31.
01:09:27And the house of Yisrael called its name manna, and it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of
01:09:32it was like thin cakes made with honey.
01:09:35That was the raw version.
01:09:38Now, they also had a cooked version when they cooked it.
01:09:42And this is the description of that when they actually cooked it.
01:09:45Numbers chapter 11, verses 7 through 8.
01:09:47Now, the manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of bedellum.
01:09:51The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones, or beat it in the mortar, and cooked it
01:09:58in a pot, and made cakes of it.
01:10:00And its taste was as the taste of cakes baked with oil.
01:10:06So, they had it both ways.
01:10:08They ate it raw, and they had it cooked.
01:10:11And so, if it was Yom Kippurim, they couldn't cook, no problem.
01:10:16Go out in the morning, gather the manna, eat it raw, no problem.
01:10:21It sustained them, it nourished them, there's absolutely zero problem with that.
01:10:26They just couldn't cook it on Yom Kippurim.
01:10:28So, there's no contradiction there with the manna in the wilderness and Yom Kippurim.
01:10:33But there is a stark contrast between the manna in the wilderness and the lunar Sabbath doctrine.
01:10:41In fact, the manna in the wilderness example is evidence against the lunar Sabbath.
01:10:47It totally contradicts it, and there's more evidence against the lunar Sabbath itself.
01:10:54All right, so we looked at what the lunar Sabbath doctrine is.
01:10:57We looked at the foundations used to build the lunar Sabbath doctrine.
01:11:01We looked at Creation Week, we looked at the exodus from Egypt, we looked at the manna in the wilderness.
01:11:06Now, let's go ahead and look at the counting of the Omer and see how that relates or doesn't relate
01:11:12to the doctrine of the lunar Sabbath.
01:11:14So, how do we count the Omer?
01:11:16In Leviticus 23, verses 15-16, we read thus,
01:11:22And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering,
01:11:27you shall count for yourselves seven completed Sabbaths, until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath, you count fifty days.
01:11:34Then you shall bring a new grain offering to Yahweh.
01:11:37And again, Deuteronomy 16, verses 9-10,
01:11:59So, what are we saying here?
01:12:01Okay, so we go from Passover to Shavuot, and the way we get there is we have Passover,
01:12:06and then we have the weekly Sabbath, which comes sometime after Passover, a day, two days, whatever.
01:12:12And then the day after that weekly Sabbath, after the Passover, we start counting.
01:12:16And we count seven completed weeks, seven Sabbaths, for a total of forty-nine,
01:12:20and the day after that, we have Shavuot, and that would be fifty days, right?
01:12:25That's how you count it up. That's how you do the counting of the omer.
01:12:28It's not a specific date on the calendar. It's a counting exercise.
01:12:32I told you there's math involved.
01:12:34I gave you fair warning at the very beginning.
01:12:37Don't get mad at me now.
01:12:38So, how does this relate to the doctrine of the Lunar Sabbath?
01:12:42Well, this is a major problem for the Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
01:12:47Here is, again, a visual example of the Lunar Sabbath calendar.
01:12:52The issue comes up with this.
01:12:54If we're counting seven weeks, a total of forty-nine days,
01:12:58and then fiftieth day after that seventh Sabbath,
01:13:02this would not jive with a Lunar Sabbath calendar.
01:13:05Because we already saw there are either twenty-nine or thirty days in a lunar month,
01:13:11and according to the Lunar Sabbath model,
01:13:13some weeks would have eight or nine days.
01:13:17And that presents a major problem when you're trying to get to fifty
01:13:21and using seven weeks.
01:13:25If it's seven sevens, no problem.
01:13:27That's exactly what's described in Scripture.
01:13:29But if you have four sevens and two eights,
01:13:34you know,
01:13:35that presents a major issue,
01:13:37because you don't get to fifty that way,
01:13:38and you can't keep the commandment as is given in Scripture.
01:13:42You can't get to fifty days.
01:13:44It's going to be more than that.
01:13:47That's the problem with the accounting of the Omer
01:13:50and the Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
01:13:52And in fact,
01:13:53some of these,
01:13:55how should I put this,
01:13:57some of the evidence that I looked at from the pro-Lunar Sabbath adherents,
01:14:04some of them put forth the idea that it was
01:14:07to count seven Sabbaths and then do fifty days.
01:14:11I still have no idea how they got that from Scripture,
01:14:16how they could get to that interpretation,
01:14:18that, you know,
01:14:20that's something they put forth,
01:14:21and it's all in an effort to try
01:14:23and justify this Lunar Sabbath doctrine.
01:14:26But it's not what comes from Scripture, unfortunately.
01:14:29But again,
01:14:30if you're trying to count seven completed weeks
01:14:32for a total of forty-nine days,
01:14:33that has to be seven weeks of seven days.
01:14:36You can't have an eight- or nine-day week in there.
01:14:38It throws everything off the filter,
01:14:40because you wouldn't have fifty days.
01:14:42And Shavuot is fifty days after this counting.
01:14:46And we even see that Shavuot eventually becomes referred to
01:14:51even before the first century,
01:14:54that even before the first century,
01:14:57the festival of Shavuot becomes referred to as Pentecost,
01:15:00and Pentecost in Greek means fifty.
01:15:04We look at the writings of Philo.
01:15:08This is Philo of Alexandria,
01:15:10and he writes in the Special Laws,
01:15:12The solemn assembly on the occasion of the festival of the sheaf,
01:15:16having such great privileges,
01:15:18is the prelude to another festival of still greater importance,
01:15:21for from this day,
01:15:23the fiftieth day is reckoned,
01:15:25making up the sacred number of seven sevens,
01:15:29with the addition of a unit,
01:15:31as a seal to the whole.
01:15:33And this festival,
01:15:34being that of the firstfruits of the corn,
01:15:36has derived its name of Pentecost
01:15:38from the number of fifty.
01:15:42And on it is the custom to offer up
01:15:44two leavened loaves made of wheat
01:15:46as a firstfruit of the best kind of food
01:15:49made of corn.
01:15:51End quote.
01:15:53So even before the time
01:15:55of the first century,
01:15:57and you can read in the book of
01:15:591st Maccabees and 2nd Maccabees,
01:16:01and other places too,
01:16:02they refer to Shavuot as Pentecost,
01:16:06even before New Testament times.
01:16:10And that's something that mainstream churchianity
01:16:13doesn't realize,
01:16:14is that when it says in the book of Acts
01:16:17that the apostles were there at Pentecost,
01:16:20they were doing what Scripture already told them to do.
01:16:23It wasn't anything new.
01:16:24It wasn't the birth of the new church
01:16:26that was in contrast to Judaism.
01:16:29No, nothing like that.
01:16:30They were doing stuff according to the commandment.
01:16:33And it was already being called Pentecost
01:16:35before the apostles went up there.
01:16:38But yeah,
01:16:39you can't get to 50 days
01:16:42using a lunar Sabbath model.
01:16:45You're going to have more than that
01:16:47because you're going to have
01:16:47an eight or a nine day week in there,
01:16:49at least one,
01:16:51and it's going to throw everything off.
01:16:54And you cannot keep the commandment
01:16:56on a lunar Sabbath model.
01:16:57That's why a lunar Sabbath model
01:16:59just simply does not fit with Scripture.
01:17:02And the counting of the Omer
01:17:04is another detrimental example
01:17:06of why the lunar Sabbath model
01:17:10is not a biblical one.
01:17:13The biblical example we get
01:17:14is six days, then a Sabbath,
01:17:17six days, then a Sabbath.
01:17:18And the new moon starts the month, yes,
01:17:21but it does not reset the week.
01:17:23And that is the entire crux of the issue
01:17:26when it comes to the lunar Sabbath doctrine.
01:17:29It's this question that has to be answered.
01:17:32Yes, the new moon does start the month.
01:17:36It resets the month.
01:17:37But the crux of the issue is,
01:17:40does the new moon reset the week?
01:17:43That is the central question.
01:17:45Not can we find an example here and there
01:17:48where the dates of the Sabbath and Scripture
01:17:52line up with our model?
01:17:53That's not the question.
01:17:55The question is,
01:17:57does the new moon reset the week?
01:17:59And it's not something we find from Scripture.
01:18:01In fact, we find just the opposite.
01:18:04We find Scripture and lunar Sabbath doctrine
01:18:07in contradiction to each other.
01:18:11And like I said,
01:18:13it's been hard for me to do that.
01:18:16And it's been hard for me
01:18:16to put this whole presentation together.
01:18:18And I'll get to that in just a moment.
01:18:21So just bear with me.
01:18:23But anyways, in summary,
01:18:25let's go ahead and wrap up
01:18:26this particular teaching,
01:18:28part A on the lunar Sabbath doctrine.
01:18:31The lunar Sabbath is a calendar system doctrine
01:18:34which asserts that both the month
01:18:35and the weeks reset with the new moon.
01:18:38According to the lunar Sabbath doctrine,
01:18:40the first day of the month is a non-work day
01:18:42followed by six working days.
01:18:44Then the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th
01:18:47are the weekly Sabbaths for the month.
01:18:49The lunar Sabbath doctrine is based on the premise
01:18:51that the moon is for Moedim.
01:18:53The Sabbath is one of the Moedim
01:18:55and therefore the Sabbath is determined by the moon.
01:18:58In Scripture,
01:18:59the new moon is one of the Moedim,
01:19:00begins the months,
01:19:02and is used as a guide for the feast.
01:19:05But it does not reset the week.
01:19:06It only resets the month.
01:19:09Examination of Creation Week reveals
01:19:11that the moon was created on day four
01:19:13and only three days before the first Sabbath,
01:19:16not eight days.
01:19:18In Exodus 16,
01:19:20the people start learning the Sabbath pattern
01:19:22at a time when utilizing a plain reading,
01:19:25I'm sorry,
01:19:26at a time when utilizing a plain reading,
01:19:29the 15th and the 22nd are Sabbaths,
01:19:31but in a passage that is descriptive,
01:19:35not prescriptive.
01:19:36And that is exegesis,
01:19:39not eisegesis.
01:19:41During the 40-year wilderness journey,
01:19:43the people were told to gather manna for six days,
01:19:45twice as much on the sixth day,
01:19:47and none was available on the seventh.
01:19:49No special exception was stated
01:19:51for an eight or nine-day week
01:19:53ever during the entire 40-year period.
01:19:57When counting the Omer from Passover until Shavuot,
01:20:01we're told to count seven weeks
01:20:02plus the day after the last Sabbath
01:20:04for a total of 50 days.
01:20:06A counting that would be completely impossible
01:20:09within a Lunar Sabbath calendar system.
01:20:14And that's just the God honest truth.
01:20:17Like I said,
01:20:18this is the part A
01:20:20of the Lunar Sabbath teaching.
01:20:22We are, gosh,
01:20:25over two hours total stream time,
01:20:27and this is only maybe halfway through the teaching.
01:20:29So I'm really glad
01:20:31we busted this up into two parts.
01:20:33But just some final thoughts
01:20:35and something I wanted to
01:20:39relate.
01:20:43This is...
01:20:45This might be one of the hardest ones I've done.
01:20:48Going against the whole
01:20:50Sunday of Sabbath perception
01:20:52that was easy.
01:20:53Fun, actually.
01:20:55But this one wasn't.
01:20:57This one was very hard.
01:20:59I enjoyed the study.
01:21:00I really did.
01:21:01And looking through
01:21:02the ins and outs
01:21:03of both sides
01:21:05of the issue.
01:21:07But as I got through
01:21:09a lot of the videos
01:21:11and the teachings
01:21:11and the articles
01:21:13and the information,
01:21:15especially from the
01:21:17pro-Lenar Sabbath
01:21:18sectarian side
01:21:19of things,
01:21:21a lot of
01:21:22what I ran across
01:21:22was from people
01:21:23who have a...
01:21:27People who have
01:21:28a heart
01:21:29for
01:21:30scripture
01:21:31and want to do things right
01:21:32and want to get things right
01:21:33and learn more.
01:21:33And that's what came across.
01:21:35And they
01:21:36they came across
01:21:37in a lot of them,
01:21:39anyways,
01:21:39most of them,
01:21:40actually,
01:21:41came across
01:21:41in a very Christ-like manner.
01:21:44And that
01:21:45was
01:21:46a contrast
01:21:47to a lot of things
01:21:48that I saw
01:21:49in other studies,
01:21:51especially
01:21:51when it comes to
01:21:52Sunday versus
01:21:54the Seventh Day
01:21:55studies.
01:21:55You know,
01:21:56some of those
01:21:56within mainstream
01:21:57churchianity
01:21:57get downright
01:21:59nasty
01:22:00over such subjects.
01:22:02And this is not
01:22:03something that
01:22:04these
01:22:04pro-Lunar Sabbath
01:22:06people
01:22:07did.
01:22:08I'm sorry.
01:22:10Something that
01:22:11the pro-Lunar Sabbath
01:22:12people did
01:22:13when I was going
01:22:14over their stuff
01:22:15and their videos
01:22:16and their
01:22:18articles
01:22:19and the information
01:22:19they put out there,
01:22:20they were not
01:22:21nasty like that.
01:22:22They wanted to
01:22:23do,
01:22:23they tried to do
01:22:24the best they could
01:22:25to put out the
01:22:26information and study
01:22:27and that's what
01:22:28really made it hard
01:22:29trying to put this
01:22:30together.
01:22:31Knowing this would
01:22:31contradict everything
01:22:33that they believed
01:22:34as far as
01:22:35Lunar Sabbath goes
01:22:36and
01:22:37I respect them
01:22:38for wanting
01:22:39to have
01:22:41to have a heart
01:22:42for the scriptures
01:22:43and try to get
01:22:44the truth
01:22:44and stuff
01:22:45like that
01:22:45because unfortunately
01:22:46they've been led
01:22:47astray by this
01:22:48particular doctrine
01:22:48and I didn't want
01:22:50them to feel
01:22:50like failures.
01:22:52I didn't want
01:22:52them to feel
01:22:53like they had
01:22:54missed a mark,
01:22:55like they had
01:22:55wasted their time
01:22:56and stuff like that
01:22:57because they truly
01:22:58were good people.
01:22:59That's the way
01:23:00they came across
01:23:00to me and that's
01:23:01why it was
01:23:02hard for me.
01:23:03This is probably
01:23:04the hardest one
01:23:04I put together
01:23:05and
01:23:07sorry
01:23:09and
01:23:10yeah
01:23:10but
01:23:11at the end
01:23:11of the day
01:23:12they deserve
01:23:13to know the truth
01:23:14and they want
01:23:15to know the truth.
01:23:15That's why they
01:23:16came across.
01:23:16That's what I said.
01:23:17They seem like
01:23:18they really
01:23:18wanted to know
01:23:19the truth
01:23:19and that's why
01:23:19I want to put
01:23:20all this together
01:23:21and the ins
01:23:21and outs
01:23:22and in depth
01:23:22as much as
01:23:23possible
01:23:23to help them
01:23:25see the truth
01:23:26of the matter
01:23:27and
01:23:28one thing
01:23:28that I really
01:23:29noticed too
01:23:30and they came
01:23:31across to me
01:23:31is that
01:23:32certain subjects
01:23:33especially like
01:23:33the Godhead
01:23:36you know
01:23:37very tense
01:23:38around that
01:23:39subject
01:23:39it really
01:23:40does
01:23:41and
01:23:41that's
01:23:42something
01:23:42the
01:23:43Lunar
01:23:43Sabbath
01:23:44adherents
01:23:45did not do
01:23:45they did not
01:23:46say well
01:23:47it's confusing
01:23:48yeah but
01:23:48it's a mystery
01:23:49you have to
01:23:49accept it
01:23:49or you're
01:23:49not saved
01:23:51they didn't
01:23:52say that
01:23:52you know
01:23:53some people
01:23:53on the
01:23:54Godhead
01:23:54subject
01:23:55they do
01:23:55say that
01:23:56and you
01:23:56know who
01:23:56they are
01:23:57but
01:23:58this was
01:23:58not
01:23:59something
01:23:59the
01:23:59Lunar
01:23:59Sabbath
01:23:59people
01:24:01did
01:24:02like I said
01:24:03they came
01:24:03across
01:24:03very Christlike
01:24:04they came
01:24:04across
01:24:04very nice
01:24:05and like
01:24:06a heart
01:24:07for the
01:24:08truth
01:24:08and for
01:24:08scripture
01:24:08and for
01:24:09Yahweh
01:24:09but
01:24:10they were
01:24:11incorrect
01:24:12in their
01:24:13adherence
01:24:14to Lunar
01:24:14Sabbath
01:24:14and
01:24:16hopefully
01:24:19I really
01:24:19hope
01:24:21this one
01:24:21this teaching
01:24:22and the next
01:24:23teaching coming
01:24:23up
01:24:23comes across
01:24:24with
01:24:27the air
01:24:27of love
01:24:28and respect
01:24:29for those of
01:24:30you who do
01:24:31hold to the
01:24:32Lunar Sabbath
01:24:32doctrine
01:24:32I have
01:24:34love for you
01:24:35and
01:24:35we
01:24:37may
01:24:37disagree
01:24:38on this
01:24:38particular
01:24:38subject
01:24:39but you
01:24:39are still
01:24:39a brother
01:24:40or a sister
01:24:41and Messiah
01:24:41to me
01:24:42I do not
01:24:43reject you
01:24:43I will
01:24:44have
01:24:45fellowship
01:24:45with you
01:24:46I will
01:24:46break bread
01:24:46with you
01:24:47I would
01:24:47give my
01:24:47life for
01:24:48you
01:24:49even though
01:24:49we disagree
01:24:50on this
01:24:50particular
01:24:50subject
01:24:50you are
01:24:51still
01:24:51saved
01:24:51this is
01:24:52not a
01:24:52salvation
01:24:52issue
01:24:54hopefully
01:24:55this comes
01:24:56across
01:24:56in a
01:24:57spirit
01:24:57of love
01:24:58and education
01:25:00and
01:25:00not as
01:25:01a spirit
01:25:02of hatred
01:25:03or anything
01:25:03like that
01:25:04so
01:25:05yes
01:25:05this is
01:25:05the final
01:25:06thoughts
01:25:06I wanted
01:25:06to put
01:25:07across
01:25:07because
01:25:07this really
01:25:08has been
01:25:08one of the
01:25:09hardest
01:25:09if not the
01:25:10hardest
01:25:10to put together
01:25:11and to put
01:25:12out there
01:25:13and that's
01:25:13why
01:25:13but yeah
01:25:16but yeah
01:25:16just to wrap
01:25:17up
01:25:18do want to
01:25:18thank you
01:25:19everyone
01:25:19who has

01:25:21just part
01:25:22a and
