00:00Am I crazy when I bring this thing up for a Heisman Trophy
00:04and a guy who's rapidly going up that list is Camario Taylor from Mississippi State.
00:09He's got a gigantic game this weekend against Alabama.
00:14Mike, I didn't know who this guy was three weeks ago.
00:17He's 19 years old.
00:19This dude looks like the best quarterback in the country.
00:23He's like Cam Newton with a better arm a little bit.
00:26Am I crazy saying this about him?
00:29You're not crazy at all.
00:31You sound like you know what you're talking about.
00:32If you put him number one on your Heisman list right now, you'd be exactly right.
00:37Look, I have a Heisman vote.
00:39And right now, I know Jeremiah Sabet is having a great season,
00:42Darian Mesa, Malakai Toney, and everybody.
00:45But right now, because of Camario Taylor,
00:49the Mississippi State Bulldogs are undefeated right now
00:51and trying to go to 5-0 for the first time since 2014.
00:55And it's because of him, because of this offense.
00:58And like you said, this guy can run like Cam Newton, but he throws and he's accurate.
01:03He's got the deep ball.
01:04You see the numbers right there, the passing yards.
01:06This is one of the reasons why Mississippi State has one of the best offenses in college football.
01:10And if he gets past Alabama this week in a huge, you know, ranked matchup
01:16where Alabama has won 17 to 18 in a row in that series,
01:20and he gets that job done at home,
01:23I think everybody, just like myself, should have to put them number one on that Heisman list.
01:29Because like you said, he came out of nowhere.
01:30It's a great story, too, because he is a Mississippi guy,
01:34grew up a Mississippi State fan.
01:36His brother went to Mississippi State,
01:39and everybody's already talking about the transfer portal.
01:41You heard Nick Saban say, hey, if I'm a head coach right now,
01:44I'm trying to get Kamario Taylor in the transfer portal.
01:47What I do believe about this guy,
01:48I don't think there's enough money out there that can get him to leave.
01:51Because I think Mississippi State has enough money to do that.
01:53But at the same time,
01:55him being there and doing what he's done for Mississippi State
01:57has been an outstanding job.
01:59Yes, he is one of the surprises of the college football season so far.
02:03You know, I'm biased here with the University of Miami.
02:06If you're going to look at one of the players right now,
02:10and who's impressed you the most so far this year,
02:12has it been Mensah or has it been Malachi Tony?
02:16I think they're almost more of the same,
02:18but Mensah is incredible, man.
02:19I mean, like, to have a weapon like Malachi Tony, man,
02:23it's like, it's almost like Julian Sand in Ohio State with Jeremiah Smith, right?
02:27Julian Sand is having a great season,
02:28but you got this guy, you know,
02:31it's like Tom Brady the year he had Randy Moss.
02:34And he's like, okay, Tom Brady can easily win the MVP,
02:37but could you give him Randy Moss that year?
02:39So it's similar in that sense.
02:42But I got to give Darren Mensah a lot of credit, man.
02:45Came in, I won't say the pressure was in,
02:48but, you know, obviously where Miami went last year
02:50going to the national championship game
02:51and replacing who we replaced
02:53and coming in and playing actually better
02:56at the quarterback position.
02:57And to have a weapon like Malachi Tony,
03:00who now has another year of experience under his belt,
03:03it's just been incredible.
03:04So Mensah, his accuracy is on point.
03:07He runs that offense with dynamic precision.
03:11And this is one of the reasons why Miami is one of the top,
03:14you know, teams in the nation right now offensively.
03:17So what's crazy about it is like Miami's there,
03:20and I think a lot of it has to do with them playing on Fridays,
03:23the first three weeks of the season.
03:25People are talking about them,
03:26but they're not really, really talking about them yet.
03:29They're almost like Georgia in a sense,
03:30where they're kind of a great team, you expect it,
03:33but they're still kind of flying under the radar.
03:35Now, I want to see them play a good team.
03:38Once they play a really good team,
03:40then I can really make more of an adjustment
03:41or an assessment, I should say,
03:44on what the Hurricanes are going to do this season.
03:46You know, Mike, you made a great point just now.
03:48And, you know, it's early on in the season.
03:50It's a small sample size right now,
03:52but is Georgia the most complete football team
03:55in your opinion right now?
03:56Or would you put Texas in that conversation with them?
03:59Those two teams, maybe?
04:01No, I think Georgia's the most complete team,
04:04period, by itself.
04:06Texas has some issues.
04:08I think offensively, even though they have a lot of weapons,
04:10there's still something there.
04:12The defense is really what's carrying that team.
04:14If you look at the win against Ohio State,
04:16I know they came back with 21 points down,
04:18they got it done and whatnot,
04:19but at the same time,
04:20that defense carried them in the fourth quarter
04:22or whatnot to get those stops.
04:24Georgia, on both sides of the ball,
04:25Kirby's smart.
04:26You know the defense is going to play well,
04:27especially coming back from what happened last year
04:29when he couldn't get to the quarterback.
04:31Well, that issue has been rectified.
04:33Georgia is wrecking the quarterback.
04:35Georgia is playing great defense.
04:37Again, on the offensive side of the ball,
04:40you know, they're just getting the job done, man.
04:42The quarterback has been accurate.
04:44He's got more touchdowns than he's got incompletions this year.
04:47So, yeah, Georgia's the most complete team in football.
