00:00Clearly, Texas is getting the most attention, Georgia right behind them.
00:03What does your projections, what does your model tell you
00:07about the upcoming season for Texas and their number one schedule strength?
00:11Because this is a team that has a ton.
00:15They have four All-Americans preseason on this roster.
00:18They have the presumed number one pick in the upcoming NFL draft in April,
00:23but their schedule is absolutely brutal.
00:25What's a realistic season outlook for Texas?
00:29It all depends on Arch.
00:31I mean, he almost has the distinction of becoming the first player
00:35to ever be the Heisman favorite two seasons in a row.
00:38Like, how hard is that?
00:40Yeah.
00:41Because you almost never win it as a favorite,
00:43but then you have to not win it and then have people still believe
00:48that you're good enough to win it.
00:50CJ Carr is slightly more of a favorite.
00:53And it's kind of funny.
00:55They're obsessed with CJ Carr at Notre Dame.
00:56I mean, for good reason.
00:57But it's kind of funny.
01:01But Arch Manning, right?
01:03I don't think we can ignore the prior that this guy was supposed to be the best quarterback
01:07in college football.
01:08I don't think we can ignore that.
01:10Can he get there?
01:11I have my doubts, personally.
01:15You know, is he going to be the first pick in the NFL draft?
01:17I have more doubts about that.
01:19I think there's a lot of other guys that can push him for that.
01:24But, you know, he's got so much talent around him.
01:27I think they have the biggest NIL budget.
01:29Last time I looked, they just have a lot of resources.
01:33I think Sark is a good coach.
01:35I there's been a lot of coaches that I thought were really good that have failed at that job.
01:41Guys like Tom Herman.
01:44And I think he's doing a really good job getting these guys to a top four level.
01:48Some people would argue that's not good enough, given that the resources that he has.
01:55So, I mean, honestly, like, I don't think Texas is my prime.
01:58One of my prime national title contenders in my mind.
02:01And honestly, none of the SEC teams are.
02:03Oh, okay.
02:04So, let's go to the Big Ten that's won the last three national championships.
02:08Or we're talking on paper now.
02:10We're talking projections and we're talking math.
02:12But how good should Ohio State be?
02:15Yeah, I think Ohio State is excellent.
02:18They're number one in my market model, which is the one that I trust the most.
02:21And I'm not going to disagree with that.
02:24The big reason is Julian San.
02:26I think he's excellent.
02:27I think his numbers were just outstanding last year.
02:30But they do have questions.
02:32And honestly, I think they have some questions at receiver, which is almost blasphemous to say about Ohio State.
02:37Jeremiah Smith is going to be the best receiver in college football.
02:43But, you know, after that, I think they have some question marks.
02:45You know, Brandon Innes is a guy that hasn't done much in that program for a couple years.
02:49And they have the freshman kid that is coming in with his.
02:54They have a freshman kid that's coming in that is maybe as highly talented as Jeremiah Smith.
02:58But it's just rare that someone comes in and is one of the top three receivers in college football as
03:04a freshman.
03:05Right.
03:05So.
03:05Yeah.
03:06And then, you know, how much is it?
03:08Brian Hartline, the former offensive coordinator, receivers coach.
03:12How much did he matter?
03:14He's gone.
03:16So, but, you know, when you look at this, like, you have to, you have to project that Ohio State
03:21is going to be just fine at the receiver position.
03:24They're bringing in a lot of transfers to replace a lot of outgoing NFL talent.
03:29Do they see a little slip up on that side of the ball?
03:33Yeah, probably a little bit.
03:34But I can't.
03:35I mean, they've been pretty consistently really, really good over the last couple of seasons.
03:40I can't really doubt that.
