00:00Hello, very good day to you. There's been some very windy weather through the last few days,
00:04and it is still windy across northern parts through today. There's a deep area of low pressure
00:09just to the north of us, driving some showery rain and also some strong gusty winds. As well
00:14as this, we have had an active cold front that has pushed southeastwards through the last few hours.
00:20That's brought some fairly heavy rain across parts of the southeast, but it is clearing away.
00:24Then the other thing I wanted to highlight is this area of high pressure here out in the Atlantic.
00:29This is going to build as we go through the next few days, and that's going to help settle our
00:34weather down. It's going to help clear the showers that we have across us at the moment and also going
00:38to help ease those winds. So the picture for this afternoon, that rain in the southeast, that's
00:43cleared away. So a drier, brighter story here. Plenty of blustery showers, though, towards the north and
00:48the west, and these showers could be quite heavy. There could be some rumbles of thunder to watch out
00:53for, maybe a bit of hail, and over the high ground of Scotland, some sleet and snow quite likely. A
00:58big
00:58talking point, though, will be the winds. They are going to be strong still. Gales, severe gales,
01:02perhaps, in exposed parts of Scotland. And the blustery weather will take the edge off the
01:06temperatures, even if on paper they're actually a little bit above average for the time of year.
01:11When you're getting blown around, it's still going to feel pretty fresh or cool. But in the shelter
01:15from the wind, particularly towards the east, in that sunshine, we're actually feeling quite warm
01:19for this stage in October. As I mentioned, this high pressure in the southwest is going to be
01:24building and driving its way in, calming things down. But before then, we do still have some
01:28wetter weather to come through. The occlusion that pushes through overnight brings some more
01:32persistent rain. But yeah, as we head towards the latter stages of the week, things definitely
01:36look like they're going to be calmer and drier than it has been through recent days. Plenty of
01:42showers still as we head through the evening, however. Across Scotland, they're going to be quite
01:46frequent, still quite heavy. And across Northern Ireland too, fewer showers for England and Wales.
01:51Then we have that occlusion coming in, bringing some more persistent rain across Northern Ireland
01:55and Scotland for a time, feeding into the far north of England and north of Wales as we go
01:59through the very end of the night. Towards the south and east, staying drier, some clearer skies
02:04and temperatures, yes, lower than last night, but pretty unremarkable for the time of year.
02:09There will still be a breeze around. The winds are dropping, but it is still going to be a bit
02:13blustering. So that is why we're not going to see temperatures dropping especially low, especially
02:18where we get the cloud and the rain lingering here. Temperatures holding up in double digits in some
02:22places. So a bit of a wet start across some parts of, yes, Northern England, parts of Wales,
02:27that rain pushing its way southeastwards, but breaking up as it goes across parts of England. So
02:32really not seeing a huge amount across parts of the southeast. Elsewhere, there will still be a fair
02:37few showers around, but perhaps not as many showers as we'll have seen through today. They're not
02:41likely to be as heavy, less chance of seeing them turning thundery. And so most places should see some
02:45bright, if not sunny weather as well in between those showers too. And like I say, towards the
02:50southeast and even across large chunks of Northern Ireland, it should stay dry. Temperatures are still
02:55above average for the time of year. There will still be some blustery winds, but with that high
03:00pressure building, the winds will be a little bit lighter. And so, well, yeah, still feeling fairly warm
03:06for this stage of the year. There's more settled weather to come as we go deeper through this week.
03:11With that, there's the increased risk of fog. So that's definitely something to keep on top
03:15of. We'll update you throughout the next few days. Stick around on YouTube. Bye bye.
