00:10For almost 8 months, ships in the Strait of Harmus have been under attack.
00:16Oil prices are rising worldwide, and Asia is now looking for new trade routes.
00:22Russia, on the other hand, wants to be part of the solution.
00:25Here in Jakarta, one of Russia's largest logistic companies, Fesco, met with Indonesian businesses.
00:33Its message is simple.
00:35To build a solid and safe cooperation, trade especially amid global instability.
00:42Classically, we have two routes for delivery of the cargo to Russia.
00:46One via Vladivostok, and the second one via Swiss Channel to St. Petersburg.
00:51So that's why that route continues to work stable, there is no effect of the homeowner's story.
00:57And at the same time, we just see that a small volume of additional cargo changed the routing,
01:03and the volume of going via Vladivostok and via St. Petersburg, it's increased.
01:07So that's why it brings more interest from Jakarta customers, from Indonesian customers, to the Russian trade.
01:13Looks like more and more shippers start to find consignation in Russia, and increase the trading between our two countries.
01:20From Jakarta, a container reaches Vladivostok in about 18 days, and Moscow by train in around a month.
01:28Indonesia sends palm oil, coffee, cocoa, rubber, furniture, and textiles.
01:34Russia sends back metals, minerals, and grain.
01:38Trade grows 10-15% a year, and Fesco is adding three more Indonesian ports, Palembang, Panjang, and Padang.
01:46On one hand, you cannot, or Indonesia cannot rely only on certain countries, whether it be in Europe, whether it
01:55be in the Middle East.
01:56But we have to also diversify our market into Russia and the Central Asia region.
02:03And for that, routes are also very important.
02:07We see that Fesco would be able to offer us a direct line from Jakarta or Surabaya going to the
02:16eastern part of Russia,
02:18and then from there on, you go on to the west.
02:21By routing merchant fleets directly north through the South China Sea and the Sea of Japan,
02:26Indonesian exporters enjoy a sovereign maritime path straight to Russia's Pacific shorelines,
02:32bypassing western-dominated maritime networks and critical Middle Eastern choke points.
02:38But there are still obstacles. Payments, insurance, and no regular direct shipping line.
02:44Indonesian business hopes a free trade deal with the Eurasian Economic Union will bring more cargo.
02:51Fesco is already getting ready.
02:53We already have the direct call by our vessel to Jakarta at Weiss,
02:57and we plan that in the end of this year, or beginning of next year, we will resume it,
03:00and we will have the direct connection between Indonesia and Russian ports.
03:05Western sanctions pushed Russia to turn to east, while the conflict in Khormuz
03:11pushed Southeast Asian countries to look up four new partners.
03:15And a cooperation, a solid one for a logistic company like Fesco,
03:21is expected to be an answer amid the global uncertainty like we are now having currently.
