00:00I just want to say, go Browns.
00:02Sometimes we just feel like scoring.
00:06Hey, hey, we're the Munkins.
00:08Five and two, Super Bowl, Super Browns, yeah!
00:15Too many Munkins jumping on the bed.
00:19Super Bowl, Super Browns, yeah!
00:26Bring on them squirrels.
00:27That's the coming in hotline.
00:29You can use that.
00:29It's right next to the Listen Live button on the free Odyssey app.
00:32It says leave a message.
00:33Keep it within about 30 seconds if you can.
00:36Anything longer going on goes, nope, bye-bye.
00:37Try speaking to the microphone, too.
00:39There's a couple of you mumbling.
00:40You can't hear it.
00:41I'm not going to listen.
00:41Mr. Mumbles and jumbles.
00:44They're not going to be on the air.
00:45Here you go.
00:45Be good.
00:462-1-6-4-7-4-0-92.
00:48All right.
00:48Was Deshaun Watson good?
00:50There was the interception that was thrown.
00:52Some people kind of got upset.
00:54Again, it's the internet, so I don't know if it's real.
00:57I mean, the audio that we're about to play is real.
01:00I mean, the people being, quote-unquote, upset.
01:03One person says something on the internet.
01:05It feels like 100,000 people have said it.
01:06So I don't know if it's real, not real, whatever it might be in terms of what people are actually
01:12upset about.
01:12Now, Deshaun Watson was asked about the interception, and I just thought he was honest because all
01:21he did was say the same thing that Logan Ryan did, and I didn't think he was mean-spirited
01:25about it.
01:26A couple people, though, took it the wrong way.
01:27Well, let's hear Deshaun Watson on the interception when it came to Denzel Boston.
01:32Hit it.
01:32Yeah, he came and talked to me after the play, and then after the game in the locker room,
01:36he came over and told me, too.
01:37It was like, man, you know, he understood that, you know, he kind of put the quarterback
01:41in the bad spot.
01:42You know, on a slant route, you can't go underneath and dip and try to go around.
01:46Even if the guy played hard, you just got to force flat and then just probably knock
01:49it away if he plays it well.
01:52But, you know, it's a teaching moment for a young receiver.
01:57And, you know, we're not going to charge it against him.
01:59I'm not going to be pissed off about it.
02:01You know, it happens.
02:02It is what it is.
02:02We got the W, but it's definitely a good teaching moment that, hey, man, on this slant, he plays
02:08heavy inside.
02:08You just got to be able to, you know, diamond release and try to come flat as much as possible.
02:13There's no dip underneath and try to go around him in this league.
02:16It's too hard.
02:17It's too hard to do.
02:19I mean, I have to agree with him.
02:21Now, I don't think he's throwing him under the bus.
02:23He was asked.
02:23He said they talked about it.
02:24Everything was fine.
02:25Yeah, people jumped on him when they first heard that.
02:28People jumped on him and were like, typical Deshaun Watson.
02:31No accountability.
02:32Can't own up to his mistake.
02:35You know, there were people that if they didn't hear Logan Ryan, who was all over it on the
02:41broadcast.
02:41Logan Ryan said it immediately.
02:42The minute he saw the replay, he's like, no, that's on the wide receiver.
02:46And I guarantee you there were people who, if you were in a bar yesterday and you wanted
02:51to launch into your insults about, oh, Watson's been getting away.
02:55With turnover worthy plays.
02:57And then you heard Logan Ryan.
02:59You had to be like, oh, oh, maybe I, maybe I should listen to the guy who did this for
03:03a living for many years.
03:05Because anybody who actually played football, see, Kenny, I never played football.
03:10So I watched that in real time and said, oh my God, what is Watson doing?
03:15Oh, we're going to hear about it.
03:17Well, no.
03:17And then Logan Ryan went into it and I'm like, oh, okay.
03:21And it's the difference between the writers, the podcasters and the people that played the
03:28game.
03:28Because the people that played the game and coached it were all unanimous.
03:31They're like, no, that was on Boston.
03:32That was on the rookie.
03:34Because for a moment you didn't see it on TV, you don't see it, but then you see it.
03:37And listen, I'm not Cam White or anything here.
03:40I'll be honest with you.
03:41Like I've always, I've paid more attention to wide receivers over the last three, four
03:47years, because I'll be honest with you, there was a bit of a blind spot there with
03:51wideouts.
03:52And it is my understanding that unless it's not a slant, a slant is a slant, unless it's
03:57not really a slant.
03:58I know that sounds Rumsfeldian, but if you're told to run it, you got to run it.
04:02And he's exactly right.
04:03You got to get in front.
04:04You can't, I mean, if you were playing Purdue in 2025, I guess you could take it a roundabout
04:10way and still beat him to the spot, but that is, that is dangerous.
04:14And you're not going to be able to do that in the NFL.
04:15You're still playing against elite players.
04:17Like, I'm going to, Miles Harden has been better this year.
04:21I'm going to, it sounds like I'm beating him up.
04:22Like you can't do that against Miles Harden.
04:23You can't do that against Denzel.
04:26You, that is a big no, no, no.
04:28You, you fight through it, you get flat and you get to the spot and then you defend if it's
04:33thrown in your way and the cornerback makes a good play on it or the DB makes a good
04:38play on it.
04:38Like that's, that's what you're tasked with doing.
04:41And so I, I agree with Deshaun Watson because that's the way it's taught.
04:46That's the way it's supposed to be.
04:47Todd Munkin was asked about this situation.
04:49Here's what the head coach of the Browns said.
04:51Besides the turnover on the slant where, you know, Denzel got shut off.
04:55He's got a break face there.
04:56He's got a cross face.
04:57Quarterbacks got to be able to trust that.
04:59But outside of that, I mean, that was the most complete game.
05:02So I saw yesterday.
05:04So that confirms it, right?
05:05Like he's, he's basically saying we coach it.
05:07You have to fight to the inside.
05:08We, and, and if anybody's like, well, the quarterback doesn't have to throw the football, Todd Munkin
05:14saying, we coach it.
05:15You throw the football.
05:15Football's got to be out for that play to work.
05:17Football's got to be out.
05:17You guys want Watson to make anticipatory throws.
05:21You want the ball to be out, right?
05:22That was a big problem.
05:24And yesterday, the ball was out.
05:27Guys were in rhythm.
05:28Guys got yards after the catch.
05:30You know, and Watson wasn't perfect.
05:31He was a little behind on the fan.
05:33For Fannin to turn around to grab that football and then still get all the way down on that,
05:39on that last drive.
05:40Incredible.
05:41But so, you know, just shows you the, the divide we have in football and bias centers it too.
05:48You, you mentioned that Kenny, like there were times over the last four years where I was ready
05:53to pounce all over to Sean Watson because I'm always assuming the worst with to Sean in this
05:58year, not doing that as much.
06:00Well, in the end of it, like, you know, I, it's hard to go over when you look at box
06:04scores and team
06:05stats, like next week in the, in the handout or the game notes, it's going to say seven touchdowns
06:10and three interceptions.
06:11Do I really go over the story of all three of those interceptions?
06:14Cause I got to tell you right off the top of my head, I can't remember the first two that
06:17he
06:17threw.
06:18I remember that one.
06:19Well, if he throws her four or five interceptions by the end of this year, am I really going to
06:22remember number three?
06:23Go, well, really it was, if we make such a big deal about it, I guarantee I would, because I'd
06:27remember it every day.
06:28But if he throws for five or six picks, I go, well, it's actually four or five because the one
06:33against Tennessee back in week seven, that wasn't really that way.
06:37No.
06:37So I can understand a quarterback being frustrated because it just counts against you.
06:41That's all it does.
06:42Like it, like they don't put picks next to quarter and next to wide receivers, unless you're looking
06:47at the deepest of deepest next gen stats.
06:50And I don't even know if they have those there.
06:51So it still counts against him and that's going to affect him.
06:56So yeah, like you're going to be upset.
06:58Plus you're trying to move the ball down the field.
06:59It's seven, nothing.
07:00We're trying to unlock a defense.
07:01You, you take the wrong route on the route.
07:04Shouldn't have done it.
07:05Okay.
07:05You're a rookie.
07:06It's a mistake.
07:06Let's just not do it again because you're a big enough body.
07:09You should be able to fight to the inside.
07:11You should be able to do that.
07:12That's why they drafted you in the first round or technically second round, but you're really
07:15a first round pick.
07:17Like that's, that's why that happened.
07:19So go ahead and do it.
07:22I'm sorry.
07:22I got to put, I'm not sorry.
07:24I got to put it on Denzel Boston.
07:25Yeah.
07:26And he's had, you know, a couple, a couple, right.
07:28I know they're bringing out that he hasn't really gotten much separation the last two
07:31weeks.
07:32He's young dude who has already popped, you know, early in his career teams are adjusting.
07:38So now what you look forward to is the counter punch.
07:41What's next.
07:42And that's a learning experience.
07:43And it didn't cost him the game.
07:44Like they won the game.
07:46And so you're, you're, you can feel a lot better teaching these things after wins than
07:51having to obsess about them after losses.
07:532-1-6-4-7-4-0-92.
07:55Let me get the Jeff in Cleveland.
07:56Hello, Jeff.
07:57Hey, good morning, Ken.
07:58How you doing, brother?
07:59Doing well, friend.
08:00Go right on ahead.
08:02Hey, I do want to give you some back on last week.
08:04I called you last week and told you Deshaun Watson was back and you didn't want to believe
08:07me.
08:08You laughed at me, but this week I'm going to tell you, he's going to keep getting better.
08:11Um, Casey Concepcion showed that he could be the one, probably the best receiver, dual
08:15set receiver in the NFL, but we're going to win this division.
08:18Deshaun Watson will end this year as a top 10 quarterback.
08:20Um, and we're probably, we're probably going to win it.
08:22Make some noise in the playoffs.
08:23I'll be honest with you.
08:24Well, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff.
08:26Did you say he's going to be MVP or top 10 quarterback?
08:29That's a big difference there.
08:30No, no, no.
08:31I said top 10 in the NFL at the end of the year.
08:33That's you give me 10 good quarterbacks right now.
08:35And I, I could probably put the sign in front of at least one of them.
08:38Okay.
08:40Uh, but no, no.
08:41Okay.
08:42Well, I mean, Jeff, I, I, we kind of did that.
08:45I like kind of like doing that.
08:46Cause I, I, I bet there's probably about 15 quarterbacks.
08:49I'd, I'd rather have him than, than, than those guys.
08:52Yeah.
08:53I, but I don't need him to be, you know, why I argue with it is that if he ends
08:58up having
08:58a game where he looks like vintage Watson, I'm going to celebrate that.
09:02But you know, when we talk about him like returning to vintage Watson, I'm like, we don't need
09:07him to be that way to win football games.
09:08We don't need him to be Superman anymore.
09:11And I, I don't think that guy.
09:12Can I say one more thing?
09:13Yeah, go ahead.
09:13Go ahead.
09:14When he was Superman, when he was Superman at Houston, look at that record.
09:17That record was not good.
09:18They had a bad record.
09:19He was Superman.
09:20He was making all the plays, but the record was still bad.
09:22That's true.
09:22Now, of course we don't want him to be that Superman again because we don't have the team
09:26that, that he had there.
09:27We have a great, a good team around him and a great coach.
09:29So, like I said, at the end of the season, I think we'll be in a position to where we'll
09:33be getting a lot more respect than we get right now.
09:35Okay.
09:36Our quarterback, like I said, is going to be the reason why.
09:38All right, Jeff.
09:39Thank you very much for the call.
09:40Let me get to John and Akron.
09:41John, you're next up on the fan.
09:42Hello.
09:43Hey, good morning, guys.
09:45Hi.
09:45Here's a little bit of sarcasm for you.
09:47Go ahead and cut Deshaun Watson right now.
09:49He keeps winning games in the fourth quarter and it's all his fault.
09:53Go ahead and cut the guy.
09:56Well, you want me to cut him?
09:58I'm not going to cut him.
10:00Well, we sure act like we don't, we don't value him.
10:03We don't show him any loyalty at all.
10:05It's like, oh my God, we're winning games.
10:08Get on the wagon.
10:09Get on the wagon and enjoy this.
10:10Wow.
10:11I think everybody's enjoying it, John.
10:13Thank you very much for the call.
10:14I think a lot, I think most fans are enjoying this.
10:17I think there's maybe a couple of people who are hoping for his downfall that they don't
10:21like him.
10:22Do I need to be loyal to him or is this just a business relationship?
10:25Did you or did you not?
10:26As a fan, you traded for him.
10:28Did we or did we not?
10:29You didn't pay for it, but do you feel like you paid for wins?
10:32You're five and two.
10:32You're getting what you wanted.
10:34Guys, we all can take a step back, enjoy the hell out of what's going on now, and then
10:39admit he's been a disaster in Cleveland.
10:42So for me, for someone like me who advocated for him day in and day out, like, no, I'm not
10:47like all of a sudden like, yes, I was right all along.
10:50No, I haven't been right.
10:51I've been dead wrong.
10:51He has not been good enough.
10:53This year, I've just seen enough for me to think, hey, he knows his limitations.
10:59He and the coach are working together.
11:01They are putting the young players now in position to do the things that they were drafted to
11:06do, and I'm content with that right now.
11:08That's where I'm at.
11:09You have paid for him, Ken.
11:11You might not have paid currency, but as a Browns fan, you have paid for him, not only
11:16with your own personal emotions, but the way the country sees you as a Browns fan.
11:19And now he's actually paying that off, right?
11:23He's actually getting you back to the positive side.
11:25Oh, yeah.
11:26I mean, if you weren't a Browns fan, people looked at Browns fans for having any support
11:32of him at all going into the last couple of weeks even as a personal effect on you and
11:42what you feel.
11:43And he's finally playing football enough that that's, you know, not the main thing when
11:49you talk about his story.
11:50It still is for some people nationally, but for the majority now, they're actually talking
11:54about the football.
11:55Lima likes coming up at 745.
11:57And you watch it or did you just ignore it?
12:00Can I say I was halfway home on both?
12:02Ken Carman, Anthony Lima.
12:04What it was, I'll tell you in five on the fan.
12:05So, you know, I'll tell you in five on the fan.
12:05So, you know, I can't get it.
