00:00I didn't say a damn thing.
00:02I didn't say a damn thing about when you go there
00:05and the type of show that they put on.
00:07Actually, I didn't say a damn thing about the presentation of the TV
00:09if you can get it.
00:11I'm just critical, and I hope that there's something that can happen
00:15where they can offer this.
00:19They can make this more accessible.
00:2130th out of 30 teams is not good.
00:23You've got to make it more accessible to your fans.
00:26And everybody keeps bringing up the NFL.
00:28Well, the NFL, it feels like it's free, and it's not.
00:31For the love of God, it's certainly not.
00:34I mean, you brought up the money that each team makes
00:36for their television deal.
00:38The NFL, while they certainly struggle in a lot of things,
00:41they are something for everybody.
00:43They try to be something for everybody,
00:45and usually you end up being nothing for anybody,
00:48but they have found a way to be something for everyone.
00:53And you think about the controversies that the NFL has
00:56that have not hit it nearly as much as what it would hit other sports.
01:02Other pro sports entities, I should say.
01:04It certainly had its effect down the line.
01:06We've talked about that before.
01:08I've experienced it, for the love of God.
01:10But when it comes to the NFL products,
01:12it's like, yeah, people line up on Sundays to watch.
01:14This is almost the same thing in college football.
01:16Even though college football, did you see that through the first
01:18five weeks of the season?
01:19I think it's down 11%.
01:20The viewership is down 11%.
01:24So that means we're going to have a 32-team playoff then.
01:28Doug LaMaurice is going to join us in nine, by the way.
01:30What the hell are the Buckeyes going to do without Julian Sane?
01:32Does Ryan Day get a pass for this year if Julian Sane can't go?
01:37Well, I'm a yes or no real quick before I get to the possibilities
01:40of trading Cleveland Browns.
01:41He'll get a bit of a pass, but then the question is going to be,
01:43how did you not, at Ohio State, have somebody better ready to go?
01:48Better.
01:49Interesting.
01:50What if he beats Michigan with Luke Fahey?
01:52Does he get more credit then?
01:54What's their record?
01:56Who?
01:56Ohio State at that time.
01:57How many losses do they have by that time?
01:59Two.
02:02They're 9-2 by the time they get to.
02:04All right, well, then they'd be going to the playoff.
02:07Okay.
02:08What about if they're 8-3 going into the Michigan game?
02:11I mean, people are going to be pretty down.
02:14Even if they beat Michigan?
02:15Well, it's because you'd be seen as you wasted that final year with
02:19Jeremiah Smith, and he'll probably have no shot to win the Heisman.
02:22This will be the first season they won under 10 games since the Luke
02:26Fickle year, which really doesn't count.
02:29That's coming from me, by the way.
02:30No, it doesn't count.
02:31Okay, so everybody knows.
02:33We are 4-2, the Cleveland Browns are.
02:36And one of the guys who made the biggest plays to make us 4-2
02:39against the Baltimore Ravens, Jerry Judy.
02:41And there didn't have been a lot of talk about trading away Jerry Judy.
02:44Well, here's Jerry Judy on those – I put it in the thing.
02:48I'm sorry.
02:480-1.
02:50I will busk for just a moment.
02:52Here's Jerry Judy on them trade rumors.
02:56I think.
02:57Possibly.
02:58I mean, you see it around, but you don't do nothing about it.
03:00You just – you see it, but you can't do nothing about it.
03:04You just continue to do what you do every day.
03:06So no talks with, like, A.B. or anybody in the front office about, like,
03:09where you stand and have they, like, come in and say, like,
03:11hey, you want to keep your – you want to maintain, like,
03:13I still want to be here.
03:14I'm going to keep that.
03:16You know, we just – we just keep – we're just keeping it day by day, man.
03:20We're doing it day by day.
03:21Any part of you want to go somewhere where you have a bigger role?
03:24I'm focused on this week, man.
03:26I'm not – I'm not answering no type of questions like that, brother.
03:29That's Jerry Judy on the trade rumors.
03:32Kind of like the laugh, too.
03:33Didn't work for me, brother.
03:35He just did his own version of Joe Burrow.
03:37That's what he did with swiftness and efficiency.
03:41Here is Deshaun Watson on Jerry Judy.
03:45Yeah, I mean, we have a great bond.
03:47Been around Jerry for the last three years and just the chemistry
03:49and understanding how he run routes and what he likes
03:52and what he don't like has just been – it's been awesome.
03:55So, you know, our relationship, our friendship has been getting, you know,
03:59stronger each and every year.
04:00And I'm just happy that he's having the success
04:02and we're going to continue to just continue to get, you know, improve
04:04and be better.
04:06Chemistry.
04:08So, the Judy thing is very interesting because it made sense to talk about
04:13what's the point of having Jerry Judy on this team
04:15if we were heading towards a three-win year, a four-win year.
04:19But when you get out and you beat two division rivals
04:23and you're four and two and your playoff possibilities, I think,
04:28what was it, 65%, 66%, and he's making big plays as part of it,
04:34even if it's not consistently in the flow of the offense.
04:38Like, now to me, it's just there's no conversation.
04:40Like, we'll revisit the conversation.
04:43There's no conversation to trade him.
04:44If they lose the next three and it looks terrible and then you're at the trade deadline.
04:49Well, I'm trying to make the post.
04:50The last two wins have been major Jerry Judy contributions.
04:54I'm trying to.
04:55Well, this is where I'm at right now.
04:56I'm trying to make the postseason.
04:59All right?
04:59You're four and two.
05:00So, let's get to the playoffs.
05:02Does Jerry Judy help with that?
05:04He certainly doesn't hurt with it.
05:05I can't say he's the main cog in going to the playoffs.
05:07But, honestly, with his contract, what am I going to get back for Jerry Judy?
05:12What am I getting back?
05:13Go around the room.
05:15Am I getting anything big for Jerry Judy?
05:17Probably not.
05:18Okay, so what's the point of getting rid of it?
05:19All it would do is put more pressure on Denzel Boston and Casey Concepcion.
05:23I honestly expected Jerry Judy, the way after the first two weeks went,
05:27he had one target in those first two games.
05:29I expected Kenny Britt level pouting, not being involved.
05:35Now, that was something.
05:37You know, being open to talking to the media.
05:41Usually, when Jarvis was done here, he stopped talking to the media.
05:44And that went on for like four weeks, something like that, at the end of the season.
05:49I expected Jerry Judy to just be done with it all.
05:52And he hasn't done that.
05:54And, in fact, he's been big at the end of games when you needed a possession receiver to step up.
06:01So, are we good with holding on to Jerry Judy then?
06:04Because if somebody came in with some sort of an offer, if somebody came in with something outrageous,
06:09I go, what are we not taking advantage of with Jerry Judy?
06:12It would almost be a knock on Deshaun Watson in some sort of a way if somebody were to come
06:15in.
06:15But that would have already been made.
06:17So, that's not possible.
06:19I want to flip that on you.
06:20Are you good with Jerry Judy and not trying to upgrade the wide receiver position?
06:24What if, you know?
06:24I'd rather upgrade the wide receiver position if I needed to out of the draft again.
06:29That's what I'm saying.
06:30I got two guys.
06:31For the trade deadline, you're good with not even exploring bringing in anyone.
06:35Well, does anybody – okay, if somebody's going to trade me their good wide receiver,
06:39am I getting rid of Jerry Judy to them?
06:41Because I don't know if anybody's going to trade their good – unless they're a full-on tank team.
06:45Are they going to trade me and take on salary?
06:48Are they going to trade me their good wide receiver for a cantankerous wide receiver?
06:52I'll step in.
06:53I don't think that makes any sense, Owen.
06:54And the reason I don't think it would make any sense –
06:56I'm sorry to step in.
06:57Well, only because – I'm trying to go through it in my mind.
07:00The one thing I don't want to do – like, this year, we're not Super Bowl contenders.
07:04I'd like to get swept up in the winning, and it'd be nice to make the playoffs.
07:08Believe me, there are other people in this town saying this is a waste of time.
07:11I am not saying that.
07:12Part of the reason I don't think this is a waste of time is because you are seeing both Boston
07:18and Concepcion
07:19and hopefully eventually Fannin.
07:21You're going to see them in high leverage – we always use that term in baseball – but high leverage
07:26situations in football
07:28that these games are going to matter.
07:30These possessions are going to matter.
07:31You sure as hell know these fourth quarters are going to matter.
07:34And if you bring in somebody else from the outside, then that's going to come at a detriment to my
07:40young wide receivers
07:41and my young tight end that I want to continue to see what they're made of.
07:47And the last thing I want to do is have a storyline at the end of the year that, yeah,
07:51the Browns made the playoffs,
07:52or, yeah, they didn't make the playoffs, but Boston was a wallflower at the end of the year,
07:56or Concepcion wasn't really a part of it.
07:58Then it seems to me that that would come at the expense of all of that.
08:03Although we are also still in a very precarious – we are in a very precarious situation with our cap.
08:10So there's a potential out, which I think is a player out, coming up in 2027.
08:14Well, he's not just going to walk away from money.
08:15So I don't think you're going to be able to do anything like that.
08:18Cap hit right now would be $13 million going into next year.
08:21I don't want to just give away $13 million to make a guy go away.
08:24He hasn't been a big enough problem to make go away at $13 million,
08:28which is something I looked at before the season going he could very well be a big enough problem to
08:33let go for $13 million
08:34if the Browns weren't 4-2, if they were 2-4 or 1-5 or something like that the way
08:39people thought.
08:40Yeah, I think that they'd be a little bit different.
08:41But now I see it in a different way.
08:44And to go to Owen's case, if you were trading away Jerry Judy to somebody else
08:48and I was bringing in another wide receiver.
08:50Well, other wide receivers aren't going to be cheap, all right?
08:52And I also have two good wide receivers that a lot of fans have faith in right now,
08:56especially Denzel Boston, but also Casey Concepcion, to be honest with you,
08:59who are very cheap right now compared to other wide receivers.
09:02Like in three years, we might have ourselves a conversation here
09:05because one guy is going to be on a four-year deal.
09:08The other guy is going to be on a five-year deal.
09:09We've got to talk about extensions and fifth-year options
09:12and all that other stuff with one of them.
09:14So I'm making a bigger deal out of this than what I am.
09:17I'm going to add salary, but I also have two young guys
09:21that I want to make sure I get the ball to.
09:23Okay?
09:24It takes away from some of the chemistry that Deshaun Watson
09:27or anybody else, if anybody else has to come in,
09:30away from a Denzel Boston or Casey Concepcion.
09:33So the more we talk about it, guys, the more I think it's not you're stuck with him
09:36because he's made some big plays here over the last couple of weeks.
09:40It's more like, yeah, I guess we're holding on to Jerry Judy now.
09:43Are we not?
09:44If we go out and we lose against the Titans, I do think it comes up
09:46because like how good are you if you're losing against the Titans?
09:49I think there's way more pressure on this game than there was against the Jets
09:52than there was against the Ravens.
09:54The Ravens, to me, were still a measuring stick even with Tyler Huntley.
09:56This is like, hey, you've got to go down there.
09:58You've got to win, get back on the plane, come back at 5-2.
10:00Yeah, now it's on divisional games, so that's something to keep in mind.
10:02No, but it's a bad football team you're expected to beat now because you're 4-2.
10:05If you had losses to the Jets and the Titans, that stinks.
10:09I don't know if that totally contradicts the wins that you have
10:14against the two divisional guys.
10:15No, but I think it takes away from some of the seriousness that the fans have.
10:18You don't got to go down there and beat them by 60.
10:21We're not talking about playing an FCS team as Ohio State.
10:25If you beat them 13-12, I don't care.
10:27It's a win.
10:27You beat a team that you're supposed to beat.
10:30But if you don't, then yeah, get ready to have this conversation again.
10:33So it's not out of the woods, but I still find myself saying the same stuff
10:37because you could look at it and go, okay, he's going to be worth the cap hit,
10:40except he hasn't turned into the mess that I thought Jerry Judy was going to turn into.
10:45I'm not surprised to say that because it seemed that about a month ago,
10:48this thing was going to go down a really nasty path.
10:502-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
10:52You want to ask Mary Kay about this?
10:54Oh, yeah.
10:54Well, how about the acquisition of possibly a Khalil Mack?
10:56Oh, yeah.
10:57Those answers from Mary Kay Cabot coming up in five on the fan.
