00:00In this video, I will show you how to add English subtitles to a YouTube video.
00:06To do this, what you want to do is come across to youtube.com and once you've logged into
00:10your account, click onto your profile icon in the top right hand corner.
00:14From here, you want to come and click onto YouTube studio and that's going to take you
00:18across to your studio.
00:20What you want to do now is come over to the menu on the left and click onto content and
00:25then just find the video that you want to add English subtitles to.
00:29So I'm going to use this one as an example and what you want to do is hover over the
00:33video and then click the pencil icon, which comes up, which is going to take you across
00:37to the video details page.
00:39Now, from here, if you scroll down slightly and you look on the right hand side, you can
00:43see you've got the option here for subtitles, but to actually add subtitles, you need to
00:47select the video language.
00:49So to do that, scroll down a bit on the details page and it might be a button to click
00:53which
00:53says see more, but basically you just want to keep scrolling through and just after the
00:57tags section, you're going to see an option for language and caption certification.
01:01From here, you can set the video language by clicking the box here and selecting English
01:06from the list of languages here.
01:09So you can see there's a few variations of English, but for myself, I'm going to select
01:13English United Kingdom and then come up and click save in the top right hand corner.
01:18Now, as you can see, it says changes saved.
01:20So what we can now do is just scroll back up on this screen.
01:23And on the right hand side, you can now see, we can click the subtitles button to add subtitles
01:28to the video.
01:29Now you can see by default, it's going to take the video transcript and basically add
01:34the subtitles automatically.
01:35But what you can do is come up and click the options button and you can upload your own
01:41subtitles file.
01:42If you have that, once that's done, click done.
01:44And of course, make sure to click again, the save button on your YouTube studio to fully
01:49save the changes and that's going to add English subtitles to your YouTube video.
