00:00In this video, I will show you how to change your YouTube username.
00:05To get started, what you want to do is head across to YouTube.com
00:08and make sure you're logged into the correct accounts
00:10that you want to change your username for.
00:13Now, once you've done that, you want to come and click onto your YouTube profile icon
00:17in the top right-hand corner.
00:18And from this menu that comes up, you want to come and click onto YouTube Studio.
00:22Once you're in your studio, come over to the menu on the left-hand side.
00:26And from here, you want to click onto customization.
00:28And then what you want to do is just scroll down on this page
00:32so you can see there's some things we can change.
00:34And your username is actually this section here.
00:37So it's your YouTube channel handle.
00:38As you can see, this is a unique app name that helps people find your channel.
00:43So it's different to your actual channel name.
00:46And just to note, you can change your handle twice within a 14-day period.
00:49So what we can do is change this.
00:52And we're just going to change it to something like, for example, TechTutor.
00:56So if I get rid of this bit here, if it's available,
00:58there's going to be a tick.
00:59If not, you're going to see an exclamation mark in handle not available.
01:04So there's going to be a suggested one underneath.
01:06But if you don't like that, you can, of course, try something else.
01:09So let's try something like YT.
01:12If we add that onto the end and then maybe 321.
01:15And we'll see if that one's available.
01:17So you can see there is a tick, which means this one is available.
01:20And you can see we've got that as a URL underneath as well, which people can use.
01:26But to save your changes, all you want to do is come and click publish in the top right-hand
01:29corner.
01:30And once that's done, your YouTube username will be changed for your YouTube channel.
