00:00In this video, I will show you how to fix installation has failed with Discord.
00:05Now, there's a couple of steps to resolve this problem.
00:08So make sure you watch this full video so you don't miss any important steps.
00:12The first thing you're going to want to do is come and right-click onto your taskbar at the bottom.
00:17So you want to right-click onto a blank space and then click to open up your task manager.
00:21Now, once your task manager is opened, come up to the search box at the top.
00:25And in here, you want to type Discord.
00:27And if you see anything related to Discord come up, what you want to do is click onto each one
00:32and click to end task.
00:33After doing that, what you want to do is come down to the bottom right-hand corner of your taskbar.
00:38Click onto the arrow here, which says show hidden icons.
00:42And if you see the Discord logo in here, right-click onto here and then click onto quit Discord.
00:47Now, once that's done, the next step you need to do is come to your search box in the taskbar
00:52at the bottom.
00:53In here, you want to type the following command, which is a percent symbol followed by app data or one
00:59word and then another percent symbol.
01:02Underneath best match, you should see a file folder come up.
01:05Give that a click and that's going to open up a folder like this.
01:08Now, from here, you want to find a folder called Discord.
01:11This is in alphabetical order.
01:13So you want to come down to D and you should see a folder called Discord.
01:16What you want to do is click to select it, come up to the top and then click on the
01:20delete button here.
01:22Now, if you do get a message come up like this, again, make sure you have fully quit Discord.
01:26So if it's opened, come and quit Discord.
01:29And then when you try again, it should delete that folder.
01:31Now, once you've done that, you want to close this down, come back down to your search box.
01:35And this time you want to type a percent symbol, local, app, data, or one word, and then another percent
01:41symbol.
01:42And then open up this file folder underneath best match.
01:45So again, what you want to do is look for a folder called Discord in here, which you can see
01:50is here.
01:51Click to select it and then come up and click the trash can icon to delete that folder.
01:56So the reason this Discord installation error normally happens is because you have leftover files from a previous installation, which
02:03causes Discord to not install correctly.
02:05So once you've done all this, what you can do is close this down.
02:08What you can do is open a new internet browser, come across to discord.com.
02:14And from here, what you can do is of course, redownload this onto your computer or laptop, run the installer,
02:19and you should now be able to successfully install Discord.
02:22So that's how to fix installation has failed on Discord.
02:26Thanks for watching.
02:26And I'll see you guys in the next video.
