00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:51The Lord's name be praised.
04:58Psalm 119
05:01How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, who obey the law of the Lord.
05:07How blessed are those who observe his rules, and seek him with all their heart.
05:13Whom, moreover, do no wrong, but follow in his footsteps.
05:18You demand that your precepts be carefully kept.
05:23But if only I were predisposed to keep your statutes, then I would not be ashamed if I were focused
05:31on your commands.
05:33I will give you sincere thanks, when I learn your just regulations.
05:39I will keep your statutes.
05:41Do not completely abandon me.
05:45How can a young person maintain a pure life?
05:49By guarding it according to your instruction.
05:53With all my heart I seek you.
05:55Do not allow me to stray from your commands.
05:59In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you.
06:05You deserve praise, O Lord.
06:08Teach me your statutes.
06:10With my lips I proclaim all the regulations you have revealed.
06:16I rejoice in the lifestyle prescribed by your rules, as if they were riches of all kinds.
06:24I will meditate on your precepts and focus on your behavior.
06:29I find delight in your statutes.
06:31I do not forget your instructions.
06:36Be kind to your servant, then I will live and keep your instructions.
06:41Open my eyes, so that I can truly see the marvelous things in your law.
06:48I am a resident foreigner in this land.
06:51Do not hide your commands from me.
06:54I desperately long to know your regulations at all times.
07:00You reprimand arrogant people.
07:03Those who stray from your commands are doomed.
07:07Spare me shame and humiliation, for I observe your rules.
07:12Though rulers plot and slander me, your servant meditates on your statutes.
07:19Yes, I find delight in your rules.
07:22They give me guidance.
07:25I collapse in the dirt.
07:27Revive me with your word.
07:30I told you about my ways and you answered me.
07:33Teach me your statutes.
07:36Help me to understand what your precepts mean.
07:39Then I can meditate on your marvelous teachings.
07:44I collapse from grief.
07:46Sustain me by your word.
07:49Remove me from the path of deceit.
07:51Graciously give me your law.
07:54I choose the path of faithfulness.
07:57I am committed to your regulations.
08:00I hold fast to your rules, O Lord.
08:03Do not let me be ashamed.
08:06I run along the path of your commands, for you enable me to do so.
08:13Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
08:17As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
08:21World without end.
08:23Amen.
08:28The prophet Zechariah, chapter 13.
08:33In that day there will be a spring opened to David's house,
08:37and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
08:39for sin and for all uncleanness.
08:44It will come to pass in that day, says Yahweh of armies,
08:47that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land.
08:51They will be remembered no more.
08:55I will also cause the prophets,
08:57and the spirit of impurity,
09:00to pass out of the land.
09:03It will happen that, when anyone prophesies,
09:06then his father and mother who bore him will tell him,
09:10You will die, because you speak lies in Yahweh's name.
09:15And his father and mother who bore him,
09:18will stab him when he prophesies.
09:22It will happen in that day,
09:24that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision,
09:27when he prophesies.
09:29Neither will they wear a hairy mantle to deceive.
09:33But he will say,
09:35I am no prophet,
09:37I am a tiller of the ground,
09:39for I have been made a bond servant from my youth.
09:43One will say to him,
09:45What are these wounds between your arms?
09:48And he will answer,
09:50Those with which I was wounded,
09:52in the house of my friends.
09:56A wake sword against my enemies,
09:59against the men who are close to me,
10:02says the Yahweh of armies.
10:04Strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.
10:07I will turn my hand against the little ones.
10:10It shall happen that in all the land,
10:13says Yahweh,
10:15two parts in it will be cut off and die.
10:19But the third will be left.
10:21And I will bring the third part into the fire,
10:24and will refine them as silver is refined,
10:27and will test them like gold is tested.
10:30They will call on my name,
10:32and I will hear them.
10:34I will say,
10:35It is my people,
10:37and they will say,
10:38Yahweh is my God.
10:41This is the word of the Lord.
10:43Thanks be to God.
10:45Amen.
10:57Mary said,
10:58My soul exalts the Lord,
11:01and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
11:05because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
11:11For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
11:16because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
11:19and holy is his name.
11:22From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
11:28He has demonstrated power with his arm.
11:32He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
11:38He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
11:41and has lifted up those of lowly position.
11:45He has filled the hungry with good things,
11:47and has sent the rich away empty.
11:51He has helped his servant Israel,
11:54remembering his mercy,
11:56as he promised to our ancestors,
11:58to Abraham,
12:00and to his descendants for ever.
12:04Glory be to the Father,
12:06and to the Son,
12:06and to the Holy Spirit,
12:08as it was in the beginning,
12:10is now,
12:11and ever shall be,
12:13world without end.
12:15Amen.
12:22The Gospel according to Saint Luke,
12:24chapter 17.
12:28At one point,
12:29the Pharisees asked Jesus
12:30when the kingdom of God was coming,
12:33and he answered,
12:34The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed.
12:38Nor will they say,
12:40Look,
12:40here it is,
12:41or there,
12:42for indeed the kingdom of God is in your midst.
12:47Then he said to his disciples,
12:49The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man,
12:55and you will not see it.
12:58And the people will say to you,
12:59Look,
13:00there he is,
13:00or look,
13:01here he is.
13:03Do not go out,
13:04or chase after them,
13:06for just like the lightning flashes and lights up the sky,
13:09from one side to the other,
13:12so will the Son of Man be in his day.
13:15First though,
13:17he must suffer many things,
13:18and be rejected by this generation.
13:22Just as it was in the days of Noah,
13:25so too it will be in the day of the Son of Man.
13:29People were eating,
13:30drinking,
13:31marrying,
13:32they were being given in marriage right up to the day Noah entered the ark.
13:37Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
13:41Likewise,
13:42just as it was in the days of Lot,
13:44people were eating,
13:46drinking,
13:47buying,
13:47selling,
13:48planting,
13:48building.
13:50But on the day Lot went out from Sodom,
13:52fire and sulphur rained down from heaven,
13:55and destroyed them all.
13:58It will be the same on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
14:05On that day anyone who is on the roof,
14:07with his goods in the house,
14:09must not come down to take them away,
14:12and likewise the person in the field must not turn back.
14:17Remember Lot's wife.
14:19Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it,
14:22but whoever loses his life will preserve it.
14:26I tell you,
14:27in that night there will be two people in one bed.
14:30One will be taken and the other will be left.
14:32There will be two women grinding grain together.
14:36One will be taken and the other left.
14:41Then the disciples asked him,
14:44Where, Lord?
14:46He replied to them,
14:48Where the dead body is,
14:49there the vultures will gather.
14:54This is the word of the Lord.
14:56Thanks be to God.
15:08Now according to your word,
15:10Sovereign Lord,
15:11permit your servant to depart in peace.
15:15For my eyes have seen your salvation
15:18that you have prepared
15:19in the presence of all peoples,
15:22a light for revelation to the Gentiles
15:25and for glory to your people Israel.
15:31Glory be to the Father
15:32and to the Son
15:33and to the Holy Spirit,
15:35as it was in the beginning,
15:37is now and ever shall be,
15:39world without end.
15:41Amen.
15:46I believe in God the Father Almighty,
15:50maker of heaven and earth,
15:52and in Jesus Christ,
15:53his only Son, our Lord,
15:55who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
15:58born of the Virgin Mary,
16:01suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
16:04was crucified,
16:06dead, and buried.
16:08He descended into hell.
16:10On the third day,
16:11he rose again from the dead.
16:13He ascended into heaven
16:15and is sitting at the right hand
16:17of God the Father Almighty.
16:20From there he shall come
16:22to judge the living and the dead.
16:25I believe in the Holy Spirit,
16:27the Holy Catholic Church,
16:29the communion of saints,
16:31the forgiveness of sins,
16:33the resurrection of the body,
16:35and the life everlasting.
16:38Amen.
16:43The Lord be with you
16:46and with your spirit.
16:50Let us pray.
16:54Lord, have mercy upon us.
16:57Christ, have mercy upon us.
17:02Lord, have mercy upon us.
17:08Our Father,
17:10who is in heaven,
17:12holy is your name.
17:14May your kingdom come.
17:17May your will be done
17:18on earth as it is in heaven.
17:21Give us this day
17:23our daily bread.
17:24Forgive us our trespasses,
17:26as we forgive those
17:28who trespass against us.
17:30lead us not into temptation,
17:33but deliver us from evil.
17:36For yours is the kingdom,
17:38the power and the glory,
17:41for ever and ever.
17:43Amen.
17:48O Lord,
17:49show your mercy upon us
17:51and grant us
17:53your salvation.
17:57Protect and guide
17:58those in authority
18:00over us
18:02and mercifully hear us
18:04when we call upon you.
18:07Endure your ministers
18:09with righteousness
18:10and make your chosen people
18:13joyful.
18:16O Lord, save your people
18:19and bless your inheritance.
18:24Give peace in our time,
18:26O Lord,
18:28because there is none other
18:30who fights for us
18:31but only you,
18:32O God.
18:35O God, make clean
18:36our hearts within us
18:39and take not
18:41your Holy Spirit
18:42from us.
18:51Let us pray.
18:54Grant, we beseech you,
18:56merciful Lord,
18:58to your faithful people
18:59pardon and peace,
19:02that they may be cleansed
19:03from all their sins
19:04and serve you
19:06with a quiet mind.
19:08Through Jesus Christ,
19:10our Lord.
19:11Amen.
19:21O God,
19:22from whom all holy desires,
19:25all good counsels
19:27and all just works
19:28proceed,
19:29give to your servants
19:31that peace
19:31which the world
19:33cannot give,
19:34that our hearts
19:36may be set to obey
19:37your commandments,
19:38and also that,
19:40by you,
19:41we, being defended
19:43from the fear
19:44of our enemies,
19:45may pass our time
19:46in rest and quietness.
19:49Through the merits
19:50of Jesus Christ,
19:52our Saviour.
19:52Amen.
19:58Lighten our darkness,
19:59we beseech you,
20:00O Lord,
20:01and by your great mercy
20:03defend us all
20:04from perils
20:05and dangers
20:06of this night.
20:08For the love
20:09of your only Son,
20:10our Saviour,
20:11Jesus Christ.
20:13Amen.
20:17Almighty God,
20:18who has given us grace
20:19at this time
20:20with one accord
20:21to make our common
20:23supplications to you
20:25and promises
20:26that when two or three
20:27are gathered together
20:28in your name,
20:30you will grant
20:31their requests.
20:33Fulfill now,
20:35O Lord,
20:36the desires
20:36and petitions
20:37of your servants
20:38as may be most
20:40beneficial for them.
20:43Granting us
20:43in this world
20:44knowledge of your truth
20:46and in the world
20:48to come

20:55of our Lord Jesus Christ
20:56and the love of God

21:02evermore.
21:03Amen.
