00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:50Give us this day our daily bread.
03:53Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:51The Lord's name be praised.
04:57Psalm 37
05:00Do not threat when wicked men seem to succeed.
05:04Do not envy evildoers.
05:07For they will quickly dry up like grass, and wither away like plants.
05:12Trust in the Lord, and do what is right.
05:15Settle in the land, and maintain your integrity.
05:19Then you will take delight in the Lord, and he will answer your prayers.
05:24Commit your future to the Lord.
05:27Trust in him, and he will act on your behalf.
05:31He will vindicate you in broad daylight, and publicly defend your just cause.
05:38Wait patiently for the Lord.
05:40Wait confidently for him.
05:41Do not fret of the apparent success of a sinner, a man who carries out wicked schemes.
05:49Do not be angry and frustrated.
05:51Do not fret.
05:53There's only leads to trouble.
05:55Wicked men will be wiped out, but those who rely on the Lord are the ones who will possess the
06:01land.
06:03Evil men will soon disappear.
06:06He will stare at the spot where they once were, but they will be gone.
06:11But the oppressed will possess the land, and enjoy great prosperity.
06:18Evil men plot against the godly, and viciously attack them.
06:24The Lord laughs in disgust at them, for he knows that their day is coming.
06:30Evil men draw their swords and prepare their bows, to bring down the oppressed and needy, and to slaughter those
06:37who are godly.
06:40Their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.
06:46The little bit that the godly man owns is better than the wealth of many evil men.
06:52For evil men will lose their power, but the Lord sustains the godly.
06:58The Lord watches over the innocent, day by day, and they possess a permanent inheritance.
07:06They will not be ashamed when hard times come.
07:09When famine comes, they will have enough to eat.
07:14But evil men will die.
07:16The Lord's enemies will be incinerated.
07:19They will go up in smoke.
07:23Evil men borrow, but they do not repay their debt.
07:26But the godly show compassion, and are generous.
07:31Surely those favoured by the Lord will possess the land.
07:35But those rejected by him will be wiped out.
07:40The Lord grants success to the one whose behaviour he finds commendable.
07:46Even if he trips, he will not fall headlong, for the Lord holds his hand.
07:53I was once young, now I am old.
07:57I have never seen a godly man abandoned, or his children forced to search for food.
08:04All day long he shows compassion, and lends to others, and his children are blessed.
08:12Turn away from evil.
08:15Turn away from evil.
08:15Do what is right.
08:16Then you will enjoy lasting security.
08:19For the Lord promotes justice, and never abandons his faithful followers.
08:27They are permanently secure, but the children of evil men are wiped out.
08:35The godly will possess the land, and will dwell in it permanently.
08:40The godly speak wise words, and promote justice.
08:45The law of their god controls their thinking, and their feet do not slip.
08:51Evil men set an ambush for the godly, and try to kill them.
08:55But the Lord does not surrender the godly, nor allow them to be condemned in a court of law.
09:03Rely on the Lord.
09:05Obey his commands.
09:07Then he will permit you to possess the land, and he will see the demise of evil people.
09:14I have seen ruthless evil men growing in influence, like a green tree grows in its native soil.
09:22But then one passes by, and suddenly they have disappeared.
09:27I looked for them, but they could not be found.
09:31Take note of the one who has integrity.
09:34Observe the upright.
09:36For the one who promotes peace has a future.
09:40Sinful rebels are totally destroyed.
09:43Evil men have no future.
09:46But the Lord delivers the godly.
09:48He protects them in times of trouble.
09:52The Lord helps them and rescues them.
09:54He rescues them from evil men, and delivers them.
09:58For they seek his protection.
10:03Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
10:07As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
10:11World without end.
10:13Amen.
10:21The prophet Micah chapter 2
10:25Woe to those who devise iniquity, and work evil on their beds.
10:31When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.
10:47Therefore, Yahweh says, behold, I am planning against these people a disaster, from which you will not remove your necks.
10:55Neither will you walk haughtily, for it is an evil time.
11:01In that day they will take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, saying,
11:07We are utterly ruined, my people's possession is divided up.
11:13Indeed, he takes it from me, and assigns our fields to traitors.
11:20Therefore, you all have no one who divides the land by lot, in Yahweh's assembly.
11:26Don't prophesy.
11:28They prophesy.
11:30Don't prophesy about these things.
11:33Disgrace will not overtake us.
11:36Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, is Yahweh's spirit angry?
11:41Are these his doings?
11:43Don't my words do good to him who walks blamelessly?
11:49But lately, my people have risen up as an enemy.
11:53You strip the robe and clothing from those who pass by without a care, returning from battle.
11:59You drive the women of my people out from their pleasant houses.
12:04From their young children you take away my blessing forever.
12:08Arise and depart, for this is not your resting place,
12:12because of uncleanness that destroys, even with a grievous destruction.
12:18If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies,
12:22I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink.
12:26He will be the prophet of this people.
12:29I will surely assemble, Jacob, all of you.
12:33I will surely gather the remnant of Israel.
12:36I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah.
12:39As a flock in the middle of their pasture, they will swarm with people.
12:44He who breaks open the way goes up before them.
12:48They break through the gates and go out,
12:51and their king passes on before them with Yahweh at their head.
12:56This is the word of the Lord.
12:59Thanks be to God.
13:11Mary said,
13:13My soul exalts the Lord,
13:15and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
13:20because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
13:25For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
13:29because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
13:34and holy is his name.
13:36From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
13:42He has demonstrated power with his arm.
13:46He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
13:52He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
13:55and has lifted up those of lowly position.
13:58He has filled the hungry with good things,
14:02and has sent the rich away empty.
14:05He has helped his servant Israel,
14:08remembering his mercy,
14:10as he promised to our ancestors,
14:13to Abraham,
14:14and to his descendants for ever.
14:18Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
14:22as it was in the beginning,
14:25is now and ever shall be,
14:28world without end.
14:29Amen.
14:36The Gospel according to St Luke chapter 8.
14:41It came about after a short time
14:44that Jesus went through town and country,
14:47giving the good news of the kingdom of God.
14:51And with him were the twelve,
14:55certain women who had been made free from all evil spirits and diseases.
15:02Mary, named Magdalene,
15:04from whom seven evil spirits had gone out,
15:09Joanna, the wife of Lhuzah,
15:12Herod's chief house servant,
15:15Susanna, and a number of others,
15:18who gave him of their wealth for his needs.
15:23A great number of people came together,
15:25and the men from every town went out to him.
15:29He gave them teaching in the form of a story.
15:33A man went out to put in seed,
15:36and while he was doing it,
15:37some was dropped by the wayside,
15:39and it was crushed underfoot,
15:42and it was taken up by the birds of heaven.
15:46Some went on the rock,
15:47where it came up,
15:49became dry and died,
15:50because it had no water.
15:54Some went among the thorns,
15:56and the thorns came up with it,
15:57and it had no room for growth.
16:01Some, falling on good earth,
16:03came up and gave fruit a hundred times as much.
16:07With these words he said in a loud voice,
16:10He who has ears,
16:13let him give ear.
16:16His disciples put questions to him
16:19about the point of this story.
16:21He said,
16:22To you is given knowledge of the secrets
16:24of the kingdom of God,
16:26but to the others they are given in stories,
16:28so that seeing they may not see,
16:30and though they listen,
16:31the sense will not be clear to them.
16:35Now this is the point of the story.
16:38The seed is the word of God.
16:40Those by the side of the road
16:42are those who have given hearing.
16:45Then the evil one comes
16:46and takes away the word from their hearts,
16:49so that they may not have faith
16:51and get salvation.
16:53Those on the rock
16:54are those who, with joy,
16:57give hearing to the word.
16:58But having no root,
17:00they have faith for a time.
17:02And when the test comes,
17:03they give up.
17:05Those which went among the thorns
17:07are those who have given hearing
17:09and go on their way,
17:11but are overcome by cares,
17:13wealth,
17:14and the pleasures of life.
17:16And so they give no fruit.
17:19Those in the good earth
17:21are those who,
17:22having given ear to the word,
17:24keep it with a good and true heart
17:27and in quiet strength
17:28give fruit.
17:31No one lights a lamp
17:33and then covers it with a jar
17:34or puts it under a bed,
17:37but puts it on a lampstand
17:38so that those who come in
17:40can see the light.
17:42Nothing is hidden
17:43that will not be revealed
17:44and nothing concealed
17:46and nothing concealed
17:46that will not be made known
17:47and brought to light.
17:50Listen carefully.
17:52For whoever has
17:53will be given more,
17:55but whoever does not have,
17:57even what he has
17:59will be taken from him.
18:02Now Jesus' mother
18:04and his brothers
18:05came to him,
18:06but they could not get near to him
18:07because of the crowd.
18:09And so he was told,
18:11Your mother and your brothers
18:12are standing outside
18:14wanting to see you.
18:16He replied to them,
18:18My mother and my brothers
18:19are those who hear the word of God
18:22and do it.
18:26Now on one of those days
18:28he entered into a boat
18:30himself and his disciples
18:32and he said to them,
18:33Let us go over
18:34to the other side of the lake.
18:36So they launched out,
18:38but as they sailed
18:39he fell asleep.
18:42A wind came down upon the lake
18:44and they were taking on
18:45dangerous amounts of water.
18:48And they woke him,
18:50saying,
18:50Master, Master,
18:51we're dying.
18:53He awoke
18:54and rebuked the wind
18:56and the raging of the water.
18:57And they ceased
18:58and it was calm.
19:01He said to them,
19:03Where is your faith?
19:05Being afraid,
19:06they marvelled,
19:07saying to one another,
19:09Who is this then
19:10that he commands
19:11even the winds and the water?
19:13And they obey him.
19:16And then they arrived
19:17in the country
19:18of the Gadarenes,
19:20which is opposite
19:21to Galilee.
19:23This is the word
19:25of the Lord.
19:26Thanks be to God.
19:37Now, according to your word,
19:40Sovereign Lord,
19:41permit your servant
19:42to depart in peace.
19:44For my eyes
19:45have seen your salvation
19:47that you have prepared
19:49in the presence
19:50of all peoples.
19:52A light for revelation
19:53to the Gentiles
19:55and for glory
19:56and for glory
19:57to your people Israel.
20:00Glory be to the Father
20:01and to the Son
20:02and to the Holy Spirit,
20:05as it was in the beginning,
20:06is now and ever shall be,
20:08world without end.
20:10Amen.
20:15I believe in God
20:17the Father Almighty,
20:19maker of heaven and earth,
20:21and in Jesus Christ,
20:23his only Son,
20:23our Lord,
20:25who was conceived
20:26by the Holy Spirit,
20:28born of the Virgin Mary,
20:30suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
20:33was crucified,
20:35dead,
20:36and buried.
20:37He descended into hell.
20:39On the third day
20:40he rose again
20:41from the dead.
20:42He ascended into heaven
20:45and is sitting
20:46at the right hand
20:47of God the Father Almighty.
20:50From there he shall come
20:51to judge the living
20:52and the dead.
20:54I believe in the Holy Spirit,
20:57the holy Catholic Church,
20:58the communion of saints,
21:00the forgiveness of sins,
21:03the resurrection of the body,
21:05and the life everlasting.
21:07Amen.
21:13The Lord be with you
21:15and with your spirit.
21:20Let us pray.
21:23Lord, have mercy upon us.
21:27Christ, have mercy upon us.
21:31Lord, have mercy upon us.
21:38Our Father,
21:39who is in heaven,
21:41holy is your name.
21:44May your kingdom come.
21:46May your will be done
21:48on earth as it is in heaven.
21:51Give us this day
21:52our daily bread.
21:54Forgive us our trespasses,
21:55as we forgive those
21:57who trespass against us.
22:00lead us not into temptation,
22:02but deliver us from evil.
22:05For yours is the kingdom,
22:08the power and the glory,
22:11for ever and ever.
22:13Amen.
22:18O Lord,
22:19show your mercy upon us
22:20and grant us
22:23your salvation.
22:26Protect and guide
22:28those in authority
22:29over us
22:31and mercifully hear us
22:33when we call upon you.
22:37O Lord,
22:38O Lord,
22:38O Lord,
22:38save your people
22:39and bless your inheritance.
22:40And make your chosen people joyful.
22:45O Lord, save your people
22:48and bless your inheritance.
22:54Give peace in our time,
22:56O Lord,
22:57because there is none other
22:59who fights for us
23:00but only you,
23:02O God.
23:04O God,
23:05make clean our hearts
23:07within us
23:09and take not
23:10your Holy Spirit
23:11from us.
23:19Let us pray.
23:22O Lord,
23:23we beseech you,
23:24grant your people grace
23:25to withstand the temptations
23:27of the world,
23:28the flesh
23:29and the devil.
23:31And with pure hearts
23:32and minds
23:33follow you,
23:34the only God.
23:36Through Jesus Christ,
23:37our Lord.
23:39Amen.
23:47O God,
23:48from whom
23:49all holy desires,
23:51all good counsels
23:52and all just works
23:53proceed,
23:55give to your servants
23:56that peace
23:57which the world
23:58cannot give,
24:00that our hearts
24:01may be set
24:02to obey
24:03your commandments
24:03and also that
24:06by you
24:06we,
24:07being defended
24:08from the fear
24:09of our enemies,

24:11our time
24:12in rest
24:13and quietness
24:14through the merits
24:16of Jesus Christ,
24:17our Saviour.
24:19Amen.
24:24Lighten our darkness,
24:25we beseech you,
24:26O Lord,
24:27and by your great mercy
24:29defend us all
24:30from perils
24:31and dangers
24:32of this night.
24:34For the love
24:35of your only Son,
24:36our Saviour,
24:37Jesus Christ.
24:38Amen.
24:42Almighty God,
24:44who has given us
24:45grace at this time
24:46with one accord
24:47to make our common
24:49supplications
24:50to you
24:50and promises
24:52that when two or three
24:53are gathered together
24:54in your name,
24:55you will grant
24:56their requests.

25:00O Lord,

25:05most beneficial
25:06for them.
25:08Granting us

25:13to come
25:14life everlasting.
25:17Amen.
25:20With the grace
25:21of our Lord Jesus Christ
25:22and the love
25:23of God
25:23and the fellowship
25:25of the Holy Spirit
25:26be with us all
25:28evermore.
25:29Amen.
