00:53We saw Priyanka Gandhi lie down on the road claiming and speaking to the media
00:58She says she was pushed by the cops and so she refused to move
01:01She was carried from the ground and then taken into a bus
01:05Rahul Gandhi much like yesterday once again today being carried away from the protest site
01:10As much as he resisted the Delhi police with their sheer numbers managed to carry him away

02:21Supriya Suneet just entered the entirety of where the action is playing out
02:26That is near that orange bus where Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have been detained
02:31They've all started going rushing in that side trying to form a human chain even now
02:36To ensure that Rahul and Priyanka do not leave this very venue along with the police officials
02:45But that seems to be an ordeal right now because the number of police officers have indeed increased
02:51Bus after bus almost as I could count
02:54I've seen some eight buses leave with protesters from here
02:58Some of them being dangerously stopped by the protesters
03:02Some in fact trying to lay down right in front of the buses
03:06So that they do not allow the buses
03:09Because at the end of the day nobody is going to trample them and go across

03:23But at the same time as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have claimed

03:30They have not just condemned but they have fought tooth and nail

03:37Because they were not allowed to enter Jantar Mantar
03:39So they said that they will protest right here in the middle of the road

13:26the red booklet of the indian constitution remember that the congress leaders have been questioning
13:33why are they not being allowed to protest why are they not being allowed to meet with the cvc
13:38gyanesh kumar and that is the messaging there by priyanka gandhi saying it's well within my
13:42democratic right to protest it's well within my democratic right to demand a meeting with the
13:47cc that is the messaging there as she's taken away in that bus you can see she's fighting it out
13:53trying to get out of the bus constantly there are cops holding her pushing her in she is sending
13:59across a message to the media personnel all outside holding up that constitution booklet
14:05speaking earlier to the media she also questioned in the manner in which the delhi police has really
14:09handled this entire agitation they were there in huge numbers fully prepared for this moment
14:14took all of these leaders into custody but she says she was thrown to the ground she was scratched
14:19and even now as she's being pushed inside you can see her resisting all of those attempts holding up
14:26the constitution booklet as dramatic as it gets this is messaging by the opposition right now on the
14:33issue of gyanesh kumar that they will not stop till gyanesh kumar steps down or in this case the specific
14:39demand is that they want a meeting with the cc if yesterday it played out just a stone's throw away
14:45from the ec office today played out just a stone's throw away from jantar mantar where the delhi police
14:51put on record their statement that it uh takes prior permission 10 days before a protest for any
14:59agitation to be allowed in jantar mantar which is why in this case this flash protest which started
15:04off as a luncheon meeting has now become this dramatic moment outside the jantar mantar let's cut across

16:31unity by the opposition you had several members of the india block coming together in that particular
16:36huddle and from there dramatically turned into a flash protest where all of the leaders decided we
16:42want to protest at jantar mantar not allowed their buses were stopped they got out of their buses
16:47states to sit in dharna and that quickly turned into a lie down dharna because priyanka gandhi in
16:52the heart of that particular protest decided to lie down flat on the ground to send across a message
16:58to the delhi police that she isn't being allowed to protest this is a democratic right which is why
17:03you see her now hanging out of the bus just moments ago holding up a copy of the constitution to
17:09send out a message that i have every right to go ahead and protest in this country rahul gandhi on
17:13the
17:13other hand was carried and shoved into the bus much like what we saw last night at the akashwani
17:19bhavan again resisting detention refused to cooperate with the police he's carried from that spot and
17:26taken into the bus so several images on your screens there of the moment that we really saw this showdown
17:33peak whether it was a moment of priyanka gandhi being detained she was lying on the ground of the women
17:37delhi police personnel as you can see them four five of them picked her up scooped her up from the
17:43ground and then took her in and detained her middle of your screens is the image that i've been referring
17:48to of priyanka gandhi holding up the constitution and then rahul gandhi who is detained in the same
17:54manner as he was yesterday carried into the bus and using his leg to actually stop himself from being
18:00taken into that bus shriya take us through what's happening right now with the gandhi siblings being
18:05detained uh it looks like things are now coming down most of the congress workers have been taken
18:10into custody this now seems to be routine you saw it yesterday we saw it today there's a likelihood
18:16that tomorrow also we'll see a similar stir now we're trying to get you a reaction from leader of
18:28opposition rahul gandhi as he's being taken away in that van by the delhi police personnel

18:55over the span of the last uh four five hours we have taken an entire round of basically jan pat
19:04jan tar mantra and we are almost nearing the same spot where all of this begun where that is the
19:09sagar ratna restaurant uh so yes most of the congress protesters and leaders who have been detained
19:16uh other party india block party members also who've been detained senior members of the parliaments
19:21who've been detained they're taken away they've been taken away to police camps but one thing was very
19:26clear akshita that today the police personnel seemed extremely prepared they have said since day one of
19:33protests that 163 bnss is and has been imposed in the national capital so nobody will be allowed to
19:41protest now yesterday when we had seen that there was an announcement or that rather the congress party
19:46and the india block parties were mulling for another protest that they would take uh they would be
19:51holding on the 9th of october a day before the cjp had announced their protest for october 10th
19:57we see today the situation took a complete 180 degree turn what was supposed to be just a strategy
20:04meet and perhaps we were also speculating that there might be a press conference joint press conference
20:10like we had seen on september 30th today the scenes were completely different they were very sure that
20:16they were going to hit the streets it was going to be a flash protest they will continue exactly with
20:22the same momentum that they had left off yesterday night and they will not let it die down
20:27because their point is enough is enough if we are not allowed to raise our voices
20:31we will continue to fight back we will continue to fight detention whatever comes our way
20:36while yes strategically speaking they have moved forward they have written to the president asked
20:41for and sought an appointment with her but at the same time they are not abandoning the streets
20:46that is what's different about this protest and i think that's a page they have taken from the cjp
20:51protests uh during uh the month of july that the momentum of a protest cannot be dying away and that
20:59the protests have to be led by the leaders and if that requires you to in fact throw a surprise
21:05and a
21:06googly towards the police or the government so be it but they will continue no matter what and that's
21:11perhaps what we saw develop in the national capital today just a highlight what's happened in the last
21:19few minutes sriya stay with us i wanted to take a look at the footage that's emerged now of the
21:24manner in which rahul gandhi was detained much like yesterday refused to uh you know be taken away by the
21:30delhi police students brown said nothing doing i'm going to continue with my protest after priyanka gandhi
21:36and so they were lifted off the ground by a handful of delhi police personnel and taken it to that
21:42bus
21:42you can see the manner in which rahul gandhi is resisting boarding that bus this is the sequence
21:46there the full footage look at the sea of delhi police personnel there trying to block off all the
21:52other congress workers
22:04as he resists the detention and you can see him using his legs to block off being taken into that
22:11bus these are the gandhi siblings leading from the front as far as the opposition fight and opposition
22:16uh attack on the election commission is concerned and they're making it very clear that they're not
22:22going to stop here the next few days there are more such protests planned in the national capital
22:28as they are saying that we have every right to hit the streets we have every right to hold these
22:32protests the delhi police says that that's not the case there will be in fact uh permission that must be
22:40granted
22:43that if permission is not granted for a protest you simply cannot gather there for what is called now
22:48as a flash protest by the congress so that's the delhi police version they say that if you want to
22:53protest in jantar mantar you need permission 10 days prior none of that was done instead during the
22:58lunch meeting it was decided that these mps will gather at jantar mantar and that cannot happen so these
23:04are the images on your screens you can see a sea of delhi police personnel there all of them working
23:09towards
23:10detaining rahul gandhi as we speak rahul and priyanka both of them are being taken right now to in fact
23:18either police station or a setup that the delhi police have identified we're just not sure at this
23:22point as to where that is share do we have any confirmation on that
23:31we are at present uh akshita following the very uh call uh we did see a cavalcade leave because there
23:41was an entire bus as well remember of members of parliament who have not been detained right
23:45so they had several of their personal security uh cars as well cavalcades that were moving towards uh
23:52this road itself janpat road so we are just following them up right now towards the end
23:58where exactly because all as many as 10 buses have left from the jantar mantar entrance so where
24:04exactly are each of the leaders being taken that's still something we are trying to follow up on
24:08but as far as i can tell you the buses were all on this very road itself and i can
24:14see up ahead there
24:15is quite a bit of commotion and quite a bit of a blockade a chicken neck of sorts that's formed
24:20so there is a possibility that uh several of those buses might be that might have gathered there we're
24:26just following up on this very road to go and check where exactly is it that both the gandhi siblings
24:32as well as the other leaders along with the protesters have been kept in detention yesterday
24:37it was a kingsway camp that rahul was taken to from akashmani bhavan today it might be that or it
24:42might be a different camp that being taken to but yes we keep tracking that for you and bring you
24:46those details in a little while delhi police choose to keep rahul gandhi and priyanka gandhi
24:51two separate uh locations expect again more drama to play out because once again priyanka gandhi like
24:58last night when she attempted to climb the gates and reach her brother in all likelihood could resort
25:03to something similar once again so as we get you all the latest updates i can confirm for you that
25:08the
25:08congress's protest is more or less ended now with the gandhi siblings being detained most of the senior
25:13leaders have also been taken into custody uh and the delhi police has pretty much cleared up the
25:19entire area the congress continuing to put out posts on social media where they're in fact alleging
25:25that their bid to go ahead and protest has once again been stopped they're also attempting a show
25:31of unity here the opposition came together for a lunch meeting and then quickly moved on to this
25:36particular protest and while you had several representatives of political parties i will highlight
25:41that the samajwadi party uh was missing in action why because they say that they weren't given a
25:46formal or a proper invite which is why they decided to skip the lunch meet as well as the subsequent
25:52protest and this is a day after akinesh yadu was right there alongside rahul gandhi and priyanka gandhi
