00:00We go out to our Browns insider. His name is Daryl Ryder. He's powered by Scheiben Jewelers,
00:04Cleveland's premier jewelry store. Daryl, how you doing today?
00:07Hello, boys. Happy game day.
00:08Happy game day to yourself. All right. We finally made it. We got to game day.
00:14And what's interesting about this is Joey Porter Jr. is now a member of the Cowboys.
00:18What is your reaction to being out for a Thursday game to now being in Dallas and practicing and
00:23everything's fine?
00:24Yeah, funny how that worked, right? All of a sudden, he's feeling a whole lot better now
00:28that he's a Cowboy. But you know what, though? I mean, listen, at Pittsburgh, they've dealt
00:34with these situations. You look at the Antonio Browns and stuff like that, where you have
00:39the disgruntled player looking for new scenery or looking for a new contract or a contract
00:43dispute or whatnot. But it's a first under Mike McCarthy. It's not Tomlin anymore. And Tomlin
00:54was the king of keeping various in-house problems in-house and minimizing the drama around them.
01:04And so, yeah, that was an interesting development and just a bizarre situation involving him and
01:17his contract and not wanting to play and back injury. And then all of a sudden now they move
01:25him on to the Dallas Cowboys.
01:27I think we found out that Mike Tomlin was good at handling that stuff because he was too busy
01:31playing Minecraft to care. He was just like, yeah, I don't need to worry about that. I got
01:34to go build my city.
01:35Yeah, but you know what? I mean, I play SimCity, but like, yeah, no, that was a real interesting
01:44development.
01:45Yeah. Do you have a big city that's built up?
01:48I got all my regions filled out. They're packed. Yeah.
01:54All your regions? I just don't know the game.
01:56Yeah. Yeah. You have different regions. You have your, your capital city and then they
02:00have, you know, one day, what's it called? Like Darylville? Like one day we need Daryl
02:06to do a live stream. Like Mike Tomlin didn't show us his entire city.
02:10No, actually my city name is Langley Falls.
02:13Well, yeah, that was obvious. I should have seen that coming. That was my second guess.
02:19Actually, come on, you get the reference.
02:22Uh, yeah. Well, Hey, you know, I, after watching Tomlin build Trump tower and then be like,
02:27this was 2015 guys. Uh, family guy is one of my all-time favorite shows.
02:33It is a good one. Daryl. Um, what would this win do to legitimize the, the Browns in terms
02:39of like where they stay in this season and everything that's kind of going on here right
02:43now?
02:43Well, it'd certainly be a springboard. Um, I mean, they're already in good shape, even with
02:48the loss, they'd still be two and two. Um, but if they can start off three and one, then
02:54you got a trip to the New York jets who I just, you know, I, I, I don't really have
02:59a
02:59high opinion of the jets. I mean, you possibly looking at a four and one start to the season.
03:03And I don't think anyone had that on the books. I don't think anyone had three and one on the
03:08books. I think the most optimistic of folks would have been like, yeah, if they're two and
03:13two through four games, they they've done pretty well for themselves. Um, I, I, you know,
03:18I don't know about legitimizing. There's a lot of football to be played, but I do feel
03:23like a win tonight potentially could be a pretty strong shot of momentum again, considering
03:30what happened in week one and just what an unmitigated disaster that was. If you're able
03:35to come back and win your next three, uh, to get the three at one, that that's a heck of
03:40a turnaround for Todd Munkin and company. Usually Steelers games. We just talk about
03:44the run game a lot. And so it's funny how much we were focused on both Aaron Rogers with
03:48Mike McCarthy and what he can do. And then Deshaun Watson's obviously such a big part
03:51of this, but Quinn Sean's been struggling. Uh, do they try to force the run game? Uh,
03:56what kind of attempt will they give Quinn Sean to try to prove to everyone that he can do
04:00this? Well, I don't know about forcing it, but I understand where you're coming from
04:04Jonathan. Um, you know, we've seen this early in games where they, um, Todd Munkin has
04:09been very intentional about trying to get Quinn Sean going early on first and second down
04:16on early drives and games. And I expect that to continue, uh, today, um, or I should say
04:23tonight, but you know, there, there's no question that it has been a struggle. Now they doubled
04:30their run game output, uh, from the average of 65 going to last Sunday's game, uh, with Carolina,
04:36they ended up with 130 plus against what was then the, the worst run defense, uh, in the
04:44national football league, Carolina given up over 200 yards on the ground yet. The Browns
04:48could only muster one 32, albeit that that's a good number. I just, I was expecting more
04:54and, and I don't know, maybe I was being unfair expecting more, but I was, um, you know, and
05:01you know, Quinn Sean had 70 yards rushing last week. That was obviously better output than
05:06we had seen in the previous, uh, first two games of the season. So I, I don't look for
05:12Todd Munkin to go away from Quinn Sean tonight. I expect him to lean into it early. Also don't
05:17forget about Raheem Sanders. He's done a nice job since Dylan Sampson went on injured reserve.
05:23And, uh, I expect you'll see Raheem Sanders get some touches as well.
05:26Darrell, if the Browns are going to win this game tonight, what is, what are maybe a couple
05:31of the key things that have to happen?
05:32Take care of the football, uh, first and foremost, uh, Deshaun has had, uh, the football
05:38God smile upon him these last couple of weeks. Cause he's had some close calls. Some would've
05:42could've should've been a interceptions that were not. So, uh, you gotta be smart with the
05:46football, take care of it. No extra possessions there, uh, for the Steelers. Uh, he's not putting
05:52up big numbers. I'm not really concerned about a, uh, a yardage figure for him. Uh, and then,
05:58you know, uh, you know, they got to contain Jalen Warren. Uh, you know, we're talking about
06:02Quinn Sean and in the Browns, you know, Jalen Warren is coming off a pretty big, uh, big game
06:08last week, over 175 yards total, uh, from scrimmage, uh, for them. Uh, and then you, you know,
06:16we all know the damage Pat Friermuth can, and, and, and DK Metcalf, you can't forget about him
06:21either. Um, and so for me, it's take care of the football. Uh, Deshaun Watson has to
06:27play smart, got to get the run game going, uh, team defense on the defensive, uh, front
06:34that's, you know, Mason Graham, that's Jared verse, uh, you know, that Mike Hall Jr. That's
06:40all those guys up front playing together to get pressure on Aaron Rogers. And then also
06:45to, you got, you know, Aaron gets rid of the ball quickly. He can still move the feet,
06:49be mobile if he needs to. It's not something he likes to, you know, lean into, but, uh,
06:55he's coming off a really good game where he almost threw for 300 yards. So they're gonna
06:59have to be ready for Aaron Rogers and that quick trigger. Uh, did you make a prediction
07:03already? I, I did on the, uh, on the YouTube, uh, cast with, uh, coach Riz. I picked the Browns
07:10to win. Ah, let's go. Okay. All right. All right. Daryl, two weeks in a row. The Thursday
07:15night football streak rolls along. It'll be five straight on Thursday night against the
07:20squealers. It'll be what? Eight straight Thursday night wins for the Browns and 11 and two at
07:25home on Thursday night. Uh, I'm, I'm calling the place in the AFC North. First place. I'll
07:30be at temporary custody of first place until they play games this weekend. But yeah, so a
07:36pretty big one tonight. And, uh, yeah, I do have the Browns winning this game. I picked
07:39like an odd score. I forget the score. I think I did something like 22 to 16 or something
07:44like that. I just think it's going to be, you know, one of those oddball Browns Steelers
07:48games. Right. But I do have the Browns winning. And after they win, Daryl, you'll be joining
07:53the fans and chanting five more years. Stop it. Oh no. All right, Daryl. Uh, appreciate
07:59you. Wait a minute. For who? For Todd Munkin? No. Sean Watson. Oh. All right. Spencer's got
08:04an agenda. He's got an agenda. He's trying to push. He wants this. He doesn't believe it,
08:08but he wants this five more year chant to take off. Peter Lynn, I think you're the last person
08:11to be talking about anybody having an agenda. Daryl. This segment has been so good.
08:20Oh. Goodbye, Daryl. Wait a minute. He wants five more years for Deshaun Watson? No, we're
08:24done with you. Goodbye, Daryl. Uh, Daryl Rotter brought to you by Shopping Jewelers, Cleveland's
08:28premier jewelry store. That's what I get for treating him nice. You know, I treat him nice. And
08:31then all of a sudden he does that to me. Uh, you know, it's funny. The entire conversation
08:36was funny. That was a good line.
