Indiana coach Curt Cignetti has message for antsy Hoosiers fans

Indiana coach Curt Cignetti had a blunt message for fans who were unhappy with the team’s slow starts despite a perfect 3-0 record.

The defending national champions have beaten North Texas, Howard and Western Kentucky, but some Hoosiers fans have grown frustrated with the team’s performances in the opening halves. Indiana’s 38-0 shutout of Western Kentucky especially sparked discussion after some fans reportedly left before the game ended.

During his weekly radio appearance Thursday, Cignetti addressed the criticism and defended his team’s dominant result.

“It was hot, and I was hot on the sideline.”

He also pointed to Indiana’s impressive recent record while questioning the fans’ reaction:

“What are we, 29-2? When we came, I saw the picture, 10,000 fans in the stands.”

Cignetti then delivered his strongest response:

“Don’t b---- about a 38-0 win.”

Indiana now turns its attention toward Big Ten play, where tougher opponents will provide a much bigger test. While the early performances may not have been perfect, Cignetti clearly believes a shutout victory is nothing for Hoosiers fans to complain about.
