Judge Judy tells America critics: “Go Somewhere Else”

Judge Judy, whose real name is Judy Sheindlin, has sparked attention with her strong comments about America, personal responsibility and changing social values.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Sheindlin spoke about her deep attachment to the country and the success she believes it has provided her.

“I have a house, and I have a home. I consider America my home. America has been good to me. I think that it’s the greatest country in the world,” she said.

Sheindlin then addressed people who want to fundamentally change the country, saying, “If you don’t like this country, go somewhere else.”

She added, “Don’t come to the greatest country in the world, the most successful country in the world, and say, ‘I want to change it.’” She also described America as “a capitalist country” that “revered excellence” and entrepreneurship.

Discussing nostalgia for an earlier era, Sheindlin said, “there are more people who long for the 1950s than long for the 2030s,” adding that people miss a time “when people respected each other.”

She also expressed concern about violence, hate speech, antisemitism, racism and political divisions, saying families sometimes struggle to speak with each other “with civility.”

Her remarks came as CBS marked the 30th anniversary of “Judge Judy.”
