00:04This thing's really going nowhere.

00:32Hey, we are Little Image.

00:35What's up?

00:35This is Bust Invaders.

00:37We're on tour with one of our favorite bands, Young the Giant, right now.

00:40As well as Cold War Kids, another one of our favorite bands.

00:43And we just had our deluxe album, Kill the Ghost, come out.

00:49And yeah, the song The Narcoleptic is our favorite song on it right now.

01:00This is the rig.

01:01This is the home away from home.

01:03I drive a lot.

01:05I like to drive.

01:0695% of the driving is this guy.

01:09I'm a professional co-pilot.

01:12Yes.

01:13A very, honestly, the best co-pilot.

01:15Both roles are important.

01:17Both necessary.

01:18His is a little more important.

01:21Talk about how much driving you do.

01:24Like how many miles we've covered just on this tour.

01:27Talk about your first drive.

01:28That first drive was pretty long.

01:30It was from Nashville to Missoula.

01:32And it was, I don't know how many miles.

01:34Like when you pull it up on the maps, it was 28 hours.

01:37And it takes us forever because we don't go as fast as this thing can go.

01:42So we capped out at about 70 something.

01:46And so it just takes us forever.

01:48And then we got eight people in this van, this tour.

01:51So, so many restroom stops.

01:55Two.

01:56It takes us forever to get anywhere.

01:58Anyway, I think it took us 36 hours.

02:0036 hours.

02:01Of driving.

02:01Like being on the road.

02:02To get to the first show of the gig.

02:04You took a shift though.

02:06I took a three hour shift.

02:07You took a three hour shift.

02:24The radio no longer works.

02:26And also the speakers do not, no longer work.

02:28So, um, yeah, we've been honestly kind of listening to a lot of movies and podcasts.

02:36Yup.

02:36What was one of the highlights?

02:38One of the highlights?

02:40We, we listened to the movie Milan.

02:43Uh, we, music wise?

02:46Wait, what movie?

02:47Milan.

02:48Milan.

02:49Right.

02:49Um, he was asleep.

02:50That was my shift.

02:51My three hour shift.

02:52Right.

02:53Uh, we, what else did we do?

02:56Uh, we listened to Rookie of the Year.

03:01Rookie of the Year is a great movie.

03:03Underrated movie.

03:04Chicago movie.

03:05Yeah.

03:05We're going to be in Chicago today.

03:08We are in Chicago today.

03:09Dude, Rookie of the Year is a fantastic movie.

03:12That was a great realization.

03:14What else?

03:16Music.

03:17What are we doing?

03:18A lot of music.

03:18Yeah, what are you jamming?

03:20I feel like I've been listening to everything I like recently.

03:23But honestly, I've been going back a lot and I'm listening to, uh, I don't know, that

03:29Now Now record.

03:30The old Now Now record.

03:33Great record.

03:33So you know Jack is like in a zone whenever Nora Jones starts playing.

03:38Sure.

03:38Or when Fru Fru, Imogen Heap, starts playing.

03:43You know that he's just like locked in a zone that he will be in for hours at a time.

03:49A hundred percent.

03:50Um, you had, you had like a bossa nova, uh, little spell.

03:54So...

03:55That's a good morning vibe.

03:56Good morning.

03:57Yeah, we just keep it moving.

03:58And then at night it starts to get like heavier.

04:01Maybe some like hardcore, uh, music just to keep us awake and on the road.

04:08Um, but anyway, we have some interesting things that we keep around.

04:13Uh, this is my compartment.

04:16And I like to keep us safe with some bear spray.

04:19Uh, I think that this is one of the best non-lethal weapons that you can have on you.

04:27It works on people and intruders as well as on bears.

04:32Um, and whenever we're in Montana and Colorado and in bear country, super helpful.

04:38We learned that this is the most important thing.

04:42One of the most necessary things we have to do.

04:43One of the most important things that we ought to have, that we didn't have.

04:48Uh, and we were stranded on the side of the road for eight hours one day.

04:52Because we lost a tire, or like we popped a tire.

04:58And then the rest of the tire kicked back our coolant hoses that are in the back of the van.

05:03We didn't even know that coolant hoses were in the back of the van.

05:06But we didn't have something to reattach it.

05:09So, um, someone on the side of the road helped us.

05:12We learned that this is absolutely necessary.

05:14And then this is my, uh, my secondary.

05:18So first it's the bear spray.

05:19If this doesn't work, the safety is pulled on.

05:24Alright, I'll deal with that too.

05:26Uh, if they get too close and this doesn't work, this is like, this is the next, the next tool

05:32that we use.

05:33Also great, if we for some reason ever fly off the side of a bridge and we are starting to

05:39fill up with water.

05:40This will get the windshield cracked.

05:43Um, this was in Philly.

05:46Found this in Philly at a train yard.

05:48Yeah, that was sick.

05:50It's from a train track.

05:51From a train track.

05:52And we think that this is older than, uh, what did we say?

05:57I don't know.

05:58We think it's like really old.

06:01Um, and then hand sanitizer.

06:04That's very necessary.

06:05And then oil.

06:06Extra oil.

06:07Because our engine eats oil.

06:09Our engine does like to eat oil.

06:11Alright.

06:13So, we have your standard 15 passenger van.

06:18But, we're gonna get to a surprise part in just a second.

06:21Because our van is not just any van.

06:23We love this thing.

06:24And we bought this thing pretty brand new.

06:28I mean, it wasn't brand new.

06:29It was about 10 years old.

06:30But, it only had like 30,000 miles on it.

06:34This is like the last of its kind.

06:35This is the last V8 that they made of this, of this model.

06:39Yeah.

06:40So, we got it.

06:41But, anyway, we've put, there's now 126,000 miles on it.

06:47And, anyway, but we've got these two regular rows.

06:51Just great rows of seats.

06:54There's a bunch of our merch guys stuff.

06:58His name is Stone.

06:58This is a great hang bench.

07:00We're a bit rare in the band scene.

07:04Where, like, normally people have spots.

07:06Or, they'll have, like, dedicated rows with all their stuff shoved underneath.

07:09We have, like, a hard rule that, which Stone is breaking right now.

07:12Which is, you don't leave your personal stuff.

07:14Because these are, like, for everyone.

07:17Yeah.

07:17And so, we take turns constantly shifting through.

07:20Yeah.

07:21And you'll see why.

07:22There's quite a few people breaking rules right now, actually.

07:23I see a lot of shoes under this seat right now.

07:25Yeah, we need to butt hit another reinforcement.

07:27Um.

07:29All right, but that's, that's not the best part of this van.

07:32Okay?

07:32That's the, that's the precursor to the, to the finale.

07:37Okay?

07:40So, we gotta do long drives a lot when we're following these big buses and stuff.

07:46And, um, sometimes you just gotta sleep a little bit, right?

07:49So, we have built two bunks.

07:54We call it bunk alley.

07:57Because you can literally hop in here.

08:00Boom.

08:01There's a nice little pad here to lay down.

08:05And you just, man, you can just go to sleep.

08:08And it's great.

08:09We built these.

08:10So, this is our custom cup holder that we had made by my father-in-law.

08:16And you can put any size water bottle in there and it pretty much stays.

08:21Which is nice.

08:21God, it's very hot in here.

08:22Give you a little better look here.

08:24These are some just REI sleep pads that we put some sheets on.

08:29And then this is just, you know, it's all attached to the frame.

08:34So, um, you know, it, it might not be the safest move.

08:38Right.

08:39But we have it, these rails here are connected to just a piece of wood.

08:45And then, uh, we have built a frame here.

08:48And then that is just attached directly to the frame with, like, washer and nut on the end of it.

08:55Basically, if things get swirly on the top, you know, it's, it's probably not the safest place to be.

09:02But at least we built a cage, uh, for underneath.

09:05Yeah.

09:06This thing's really going nowhere.

09:09It's, it's in there, solid, so.

09:11And for when we're just hanging, uh, I'm vested in this, uh, situation.

09:18So this is great for, like, chopping it up, having a conversation, um, you know.

09:26Every now and then, if someone wants to get vertical because they've been horizontal for a long time,

09:32they'll just pop this in the van.

09:34And, uh, this, this acts as a temporary sitting position.

09:38Um, disclaimer, when we're moving, we're always in the seats with our seatbelts on.

09:44Yes.
