00:00You're milking the cow. You're churning the butter.
00:02If you're going on a more than a week-long tour and you like video games, this is the thing.
00:06If you were to try to break into this van, you have to break through not only the interior lock, but the exterior deadbolt.
00:30Hey, everybody. My name is Dusty Gannon. I'm the lead singer and guitarist for the band Vision Video, and you are here with us with our van, Nico.
00:46We're on tour throughout the East Coast and Midwest here in Fall 2025, and yeah, I'm excited to show you our wonderful bus.
00:57She's named after Nico from the Velvet Underground because the first time I cranked her up, I'll Be Your Mirror started playing, so it's a nice little homage to that wonderful moment.
01:09So we've been going to the Midwest. We're in the Windy City, obviously. Yeah, we've been killing a lot of bugs, unfortunately.
01:17It's kind of a massacre, but, you know, we're horror nuts, so maybe it's apropos. I don't know.
01:24It's pretty gory, though. I feel like this is a pretty good smattering of gore for the tour.
01:32So welcome to the inside of Nico. As you can see, it's pretty dark in here because we keep shades for security and also insulation.
01:41You know, when you carry around vinyl on month-long tours, especially in the summer on the West Coast, you know, vinyl tends to melt.
01:49When it's 85 degrees outside, it will absolutely melt inside your vehicle.
01:54So this helps with that, gives you a little bit of time, but it's also good for security. It keeps prying eyes out.
01:59So as you can see, we just cut this sort of mylar film to shape, and we just keep it velcroed in on the windows,
02:09and we just put them up in the visors for storage. But we also have, you know, like a traditional reflective screen in the front as well.
02:18And it does a great job. So with driving, we used to drive ourselves. Now we have a really wonderful driver and merch engineer extraordinaire.
02:29His name is Chris Ford. He's a fantastic driver. He is a really funny guy. He's very weird in the best possible way, of course.
02:39But what we used to drive, and we would just all take like about two hour shifts, like no more than three, and we would all just kind of swap out.
02:48But Chris is very reliable, and yeah, he gets it done. We're very far into this tour. We're like almost three weeks into this tour.
02:56So there's a lot more crap everywhere that normally isn't what you start with. Like I did not start with Mucifer here, which is my pillow.
03:06I'm usually in this seat, kind of co-piloting Chris and keeping him like, he's very ADHD, so I sometimes have to be like,
03:14hey Chris, like that's your turn, that's your turn, that's your turn. So this is my pillow. Let's see, we've got some, you know,
03:25drunken energy drinks, a t-shirt, exercise paraphernalia. We always like tend to work out when we stop at gas stations,
03:33because, you know, you're gone for a month, you gotta stay in decent shape at least, I guess.
03:39My sleep mask, trusty sleep mask. Some more, you know, some hand crank, even when the hands needs to work out, you know,
03:49for your guitarist and your drummers. Oh, this is cool. This is like really fun stuff actually.
03:55Some art that's been given to us, like, this was an artist, Sam Thompson, who made this watercolor based on a song of ours,
04:05called Siren Song. So that's really cool. And, yeah, these are from James Campbell. He did this one for us,
04:17and then he knows I'm a fan of Joy Division, so he made these. You know, so we, I like to keep these up front,
04:23because it's like kind of the safest place to put art, and without it getting all destroyed.
04:29In the middle here, this is kind of my snack box. It's just trash for the most part right now.
04:35I have my Steam Deck. This is, if you're a touring musician, if you're going on more than a week long tour and you like video games,
04:43this is the thing. I'm a PC nerd, like a hardcore PC nerd, so I can play a lot of PC games on this thing.
04:51And it's a lot of fun, keeps me entertained. I'm playing Hades. It's kind of a roguelike hack and slash.
04:59Backpack, I keep up here with me. I'm a big nerd. I read Warhammer books and play Warhammer,
05:05the tabletop game, because I am insufferable. I'm also trying to learn real things about the real world,
05:12and this has been really good so far. Yeah, that's kind of the front.
05:19So, I mean, the door here's got Tide Pods, throat coat, a bunch of markers for signing stuff,
05:28some stickers to give out to people when we see them in the street.
05:32Because, you know, sometimes you end up, you come into the venue, and you like pile out,
05:36and you're these disgusting goblins that are from the van, and some of your fans will be there,
05:42and they're like, oh my god, and it's like, hey, here you go. It's nice to meet you.
05:46Because that can be kind of an awkward thing when you're just waking up.
05:50Vacuum, hand sanitizer, ear pods, good stuff.
05:57So, we keep our van monitored internally with a small cell base. Like, it's got a little cell SIM card.
06:05That way, if somebody breaks into the van, it will, like, literally notify us.
06:10So, it's monitored 24 hours, which is nice. Very important to keep your van secure.
06:14Yeah, let's check out the inside. I wonder who's in here?
06:19Oh, yes. We have a space marine. That's Ryan.
06:24Oh, I'm sorry. I'm just busy with my full team.
06:26Oh, sorry. I didn't see you there.
06:28Ryan's our drummer. Steven's playing bass with us.
06:32And they are playing Pokemon, apparently.
06:35Nothing to see here.
06:37So, this is where I live. This is my isle, my bay, my zone.
06:42This is my area. This is mine, and I love it.
06:45But, what you need to see is the next part.
06:48Mucifer is my turtle's pillow. They match. It keeps me sane.
06:54If you pile up your neck pillow on top of that, you can lie down,
06:57and your ear pods don't get squashed into your skull.
07:00Pro move. Pro move.
07:02I also like to sit here because I get to pull this blind up when we park.
07:05It's really cool. I've got some vinyls.
07:08I've got a test present that was a gift to Dusty from Jack from Panic Priest,
07:14which is very cool. That was a nice birthday present.
07:17Roger Waters, Radio Chaos. Best album in the world.
07:20But yeah, what I've got going on here is I've got this seat divider that has...
07:25My charger runs here. I've got phone. I've got my in-ear guys.
07:29I've got my Coke Zero, a lint roller, some watermelon chewing gum, and a truckload of Red Bulls.
07:41And the piece de resistance is an old comeback kid shirt that I used to blow my nose a few weeks ago,
07:47that I haven't washed, and it's just been under there, doing its thing, festering, gestating.
07:55I don't know what happens when you sneeze in a comeback kid shirt, but we'll find out.
07:59And this is where I live. Welcome to my crib.
08:01So these push-up bars here, they're foreign to me. I use them when I'm lying down.
08:07I put my arm through there when I'm asleep because Chris will slam on the brakes occasionally,
08:12and I fall down here. So I use them as like a brake, like a brace, and it works here pretty well.
08:19But I have seen them in use. I understand that people use them for push-ups.
08:24These guys may use them for push-ups, but that's not my jam. That's not how I roll.
08:29Alright, this is my row here. First of all, Ice Mountain 100% natural spring water.
08:36You can't do anything other than spring water. I'm a stickler about spring water.
08:40Anything that's purified, tastes like it's got chlorine in it, don't give it to me.
08:44I got some trash. Spring water. Okay, spring.
08:48Let's see. Some smart food popcorn. It smells really bad when you open it,
08:53so it's really fun to annoy the other passengers here.
08:58But it's also a cover-up for my own smell, so they don't really know which one it is.
09:04Got this guy here. This is my companion.
09:09El Lobo is his name. He's, you know, if Stephen's acting up, I'll sick him on Stephen.
09:16Make sure that he stays in line, because he annoys me. He gets in my zone sometimes.
09:21And I've got to say, stop! Stop!
09:25Um, we got some leftover salsa. This has been in here for two weeks.
09:31But it's sealed, so it's still good. One of these days we're gonna have a fiesta, and we're gonna party, and we're gonna open this.
09:36Maybe the last day. Um, let's see.
09:39I got some Pokemon cards, you know. Gotta catch them all. Um, Gengar. One of the best. Yeah, you know.
09:47So I've also got this gap in the seat, which is really fun for whoever gets to sit in the back row, because it's actually not fun at all.
09:56But, you know, what I realized, the hack, is that if you fill it with vinyl, you know, boxes, that you can kind of create like a little table.
10:06So, you know, you gotta make do.
10:09And, uh, yeah. This is how I lay down. This is where I sleep. Um, this is my pillow here.
10:16Like Stephen said, the, uh, the hole for the earbud, ProMove.
10:21So, if anybody's trying to sleep with earbuds, this is your pillow.
10:26And then I've got this nice blanket here, which usually just acts as more of a pillow anyways.
10:32Um, extra drum heads. This is just in the way, really.
10:37But, you know, it's my zone. So, it's gotta be mine.
10:41Um, these are the chips that go with that two-week-old salsa.
10:46So, can't wait to dive into those.
10:49Um, let's see, I've got strings back here, and, uh, I resent that a little bit.
10:56But, that's okay.
10:58The weights! Maybe the most important part.
11:01We got the weights here.
11:02Not quite a shake weight, but...
11:04Not quite a shake weight, but...
11:05You could try it.
11:07I've shook them. I've shook them.
11:09We could Dutch rudder each other's weights.
11:12Yeah.
11:13You could lift mine, and I'll lift yours.
11:15Yeah, we could, uh, and I'll watch.
11:17Like this.
11:18Yeah.
11:19Yeah.
11:20Just, you know, it's like...
11:21It's like your bro gets swollen.
11:22That's right.
11:23This is a very, beautiful way.
11:24You're on the farm.
11:25You're milking the cow.
11:26Oh.
11:27You're churning the butter.
11:28You're Dutch.
11:29It's good.
11:30Yeah. Oh, I feel it.
11:31Yeah.
11:32Oh, oh, oh.
11:33It's beautiful.
11:34Just kidding, I can lift that with ease.
11:36I like board games, and, uh, we were in Toronto, and I found this game that I've been trying
11:41to find.
11:42It's called Zombicide.
11:43Uh, it's, like, very expensive on the internet, but I found it for about, like, a hundred dollars
11:47less than it normally is, and I was like, I'm going to buy this large box, and put it
11:52in the van, and we'll just build it.
11:54So, yeah, it's exciting for when we get home.
11:57Gotta buy stuff on the road.
11:59And I've got my hotel shoes, which are from this place I discovered on this trip called
12:04Walmart.
12:06On the production week that we had, I went eight times in seven days.
12:10Walmart is really cool.
12:12You can buy Jolly Ranchers.
12:15You can buy shoes.
12:17You can buy underwear.
12:19You can buy guns.
12:21You can buy children's toys.
12:24You can get another gun.
12:26More children's toys.
12:28Guns.
12:29Really high contrast in quality of items that they have, but mainly the toys and the guns.
12:34Confusing scenario.
12:36Yeah.
12:37America's great.
12:38These are my day off shoes.
12:41Because there's nothing more goth rock, goth band, than wearing all of the colors at
12:47once.
12:48Looking like absolute rainbow vomit.
12:50And I love it.
12:51But yeah.
12:52This is my zone.
12:53Alright.
12:54So, this is the back of Nikko.
12:57There's not really all that much that's interesting to it.
13:00I did bolt into the frame a deadbolt, like exterior deadbolt, so that if you were to try
13:07to break into this van, you have to break through not only the interior lock, but the exterior
13:11deadbolt, which is a large hot cuff metal, which is like this, which is ridiculous.
13:19But it is empty right now, essentially, because we've already loaded in.
13:23But, you know, I put in this bulkhead to keep you from getting decapitated by flying guitar
13:30cases when, you know, you stop.
13:32So, at the end of the night, Chris, our driver, kind of is the brain of the operation of putting
13:38things in.
13:39He's kind of got his system.
13:40It's pretty loosey-goosey, but there are some items that kind of have to go in a certain
13:44way.
13:45But it's, I mean, it's essentially from floor to ceiling till the threshold, depending on
13:51how much merch we have or whatever the case is.
13:54But yeah, it stays pretty full.
13:57So, this is fun.
13:58We have a bag full of ski masks.
14:02We have a song called Balaclava Kiss.
14:06And each night, I don, we all don a ski mask and I throw mine out into the audience.
14:12So, you know, you can never have enough balaclavas.
14:16Yeah, these are just miscellaneous overstock shirts.
14:22So, thanks for watching our tour of Nico, our band.
14:27You can find us at Vision Video Band.
14:30That might be changing soon, as we might have to rebrand, which is a wonderful experience
14:36and is really a joy to be had by all.
14:39But you can look up Dusty Gannon, Ryan Houchins, Steven Jewer.
14:45You guys have tags.
14:48Ryan Houch.
14:49R-Y-H-O-U-C-H.
14:51Sucker UK.
14:52On Instagram.
14:53Yeah, and then if you can't find, if we're rebranded and you don't know where the hell
14:57to find the band, whatever the band will be, just look up Goth Dad, because that's, you
15:03know, my dear old baby bats.
15:05I'm a Midwest vampire character that I do, so.
15:09How many oh yeah, actually?
15:13Man, I know.
15:14She ran off the
