00:00Dan, the coastal impacts are going to be severe, very different weekend compared to the interior northeast as we get
00:06going with this storm.
00:07The coast is where all of the action is here for the weekend, Jeff.
00:10A stormy weekend, those coastal impacts will be most felt Long Island, the north side of Long Island, the Long
00:15Island Sound side there, New Jersey, up into the parts of southeast New England.
00:19Some places could gust close to 80 miles per hour.
00:22That will really ramp up the wind Friday, even before the rain gets there, Friday, Friday night.
00:26And then the wind probably peaks Saturday before winding down later on Saturday evening.
00:30And we do expect to see probably tens of thousands of power outages generally restricted to coastal areas, Suffolk County,
00:37Long Island, all the way to Cape Cod, up to parts of coastal Massachusetts.
00:41But, Dan, the rain is going to be a big story as well.
00:44And I know you've been talking to some other members of our team here about the New York experience, where
00:49it may go from from wind to rain.
00:52It's probably a wind-loaded frontside in New York, so Friday evening, more wind, and then turning wetter late Friday
00:59night into Saturday.
01:00Saturday's a pretty wet day in New York City, especially from the city on east.
01:03It turns wetter through the day west of New York City.
01:05And then the wind dies off, still breezy, Saturday night into Sunday, and still showery.
01:09Of the two days, Saturday's probably wetter.
01:11Sunday's still lingering showers.
01:12But overall, a pretty stormy weekend in New York City, and then especially northeast of there.
01:16And this is going to be a slow mover as it pulls north.
01:19Here we go through Saturday morning, 7 a.m., and then through Saturday afternoon and evening with widespread rain and
01:25wind.
01:26So when we get a little more specific here with some city-by-city forecasts, what are we looking at
01:30for New York City?
01:31Probably 40 to 50-mile-an-hour wind gusts at the peak of the storm.
01:33That's probably most likely later Friday night into Saturday.
01:36That's gusts, higher gusts east on Long Island.
01:39A couple inches of rain we'll have to watch for potentially some urban flooding, especially probably Saturday evening.
01:44That would most likely be around high tide probably, too.
01:46You get a combination of coastal flooding plus the rain at the time, and that can really lead to some
01:51issues worse here on the Cape.
