00:02:50I mean, Brad obviously his lap was amazing.

00:02:55I do think Brad and Kyle, you know,

00:02:57and they're going to have their own little battle.
00:02:59But, yeah, it's never easy doing lap ready.

00:03:12Kyle and Brad, I'd just love to see a really good dice out
00:03:16in the front with those two.
00:03:17Because you haven't really seen them sort of battle it out

00:03:21I think Danny, if he gets a good start and tucks in,
00:03:23I think he can go with them.
00:03:24He looks like he's got the pace.
00:03:25He's comfortable.
00:03:26He's got the confidence.
00:03:27So I'm really hoping he's going to be a cracker.
00:03:29It's got all the ingredients, Shane.
00:03:32Yeah, it certainly has.
00:03:33Cabot Park, one of the tightest, twistiest circuits
00:03:35in the calendar.
00:03:36Difficult to overtake.
00:03:37You know, you've got to set a move up really for Park.
00:03:39That means a good run out of Charlie's two.
00:03:41All the way down the back straight, a bit of slipstream.
00:03:43Let's not forget Danny, Kyle and Bradley all on exactly
00:03:46the same motorcycle as well, which is going to make it
00:03:48even more interesting.
00:03:49So I'm sure there'll be others that want to get into the mix
00:03:51as well, but them three are certainly the sort of
00:03:53pick of the bunch at the moment.
00:03:54Let's have a little look at that Super Pole lap then that
00:03:56Brad did earlier on.
00:03:57If you weren't able to join us, we had a single lap Super
00:04:00Pole and it was spectacular, wasn't it?
00:04:02Yeah, it certainly was.
00:04:03It was actually like an action replay from 2022, wasn't it?
00:04:06Because he was there or thereabouts in the first sector,
00:04:08which is up the end of the back straight.
00:04:10Sector two this time, he was really fast.
00:04:12This is him now coming into the penultimate corner,
00:04:14kept everything super clean, super tidy, nice tight exit there
00:04:17over the top of the grass, drove the R1 hard down the hill
00:04:20and that was it.
00:04:2124.3, which is the fastest ever two wheeled lap around
00:04:24Cabell Park.
00:04:25Followed closely, only a couple of tenths behind by Kyle Wright
00:04:28and testament to the way that Kyle rode as well.
00:04:30Yeah, very much.
00:04:31And he didn't, you know, he knew, he sort of heard
00:04:33sort of Kyle saying as well, this is Kyle's lap again, neat,
00:04:36tidy and just under two tenths off.
00:04:38So, but he kind of knew if he was going to be in that area,
00:04:41he knew he'd be on the front row, which is kind of all he needs to do.
00:04:44So it's just going to be fascinating to see whether he's got the pace.
00:04:47I mean, one of the things we know about this track,
00:04:49the start is so important.
00:04:51So you've got to try and get off the line well to compete.
00:04:54A bad start can really cost you here, but he's riding great.
00:04:58He's in a rich vein of confidence.
00:05:00You know, he's took that big chunk of points off Brad at Thruxton.
00:05:03So you just feel he's, you know, he wants to, he wants to take that fight to him.
00:05:08Yeah.
00:05:09And I feel like Brad at the start of the year was on fire.
00:05:12Kyle was a little bit, you know, a little bit off, you know,
00:05:14and then we see that little bit where Brad's had a few rounds that haven't been great.
00:05:17We're seeing now Kyle and Brad full of confidence starting one and two.
00:05:22Let's not forget Tommy Bridewell though.
00:05:24You know, he can do, he can win races, can't he?
00:05:27And especially around here.
00:05:28Yeah.
00:05:29And he starts from the front row of the grid in third place,
00:05:31which was some achievement actually, Danny, considering that he had an off
00:05:34and then a, you know, a rebuild of the bike just before the session.
00:05:38Yeah. No, that's so hard to do.
00:05:39Like when you have that crash there, you know, in free practice, free,
00:05:42that just, you know, that the bars might not be quite right.
00:05:44You know, there's the last time you rode a bike, you've crashed it.
00:05:46And then you're going out and qualifying to do one fast lap.
00:05:49Like you've got the out lap and then you're pushing to your ultimate limit.
00:05:52So, yeah, I think that was a really good job he'd done in qualifying.
00:05:55I think he's going to be there.
00:05:56So impressive, as you say, that commitment and that belief to,
00:06:00to wrestle around because he's, you know, he's having a slightly awkward season anyway.
00:06:04So to do that here, I'm really impressed.
00:06:06Honda brought along some new parts for him.
00:06:08Actually, there's a new swing arm on that Honda Fireblade this weekend.
00:06:10And Tommy has two options that he could go at, but he told me one of them isn't here,
00:06:14but has the new swing arm in, likes it, bike's working good.
00:06:17But, you know, testament to the team as well,
00:06:19because both Andrew and Tommy both went down, didn't they, in FP3,
00:06:22which was literally 10 minutes before qualifying.
00:06:24And both bikes got rebuilt.
00:06:26They've done a great job.
00:06:27And, you know, kudos to Tommy, as you said, you know, front row starts.
00:06:29Fantastic.
00:06:30Yeah, it's Ray, Ride and Bridewell then on the front row of the grid.
00:06:33But heading up the second row against the odds, really, a track he doesn't like,
00:06:37but just showing how much confidence he has now.
00:06:39Having been rider of the round last time out at Thruxton, Danny Kent has been talking to James.
00:06:45Climbing back to the top step, Danny Kent wins for the first time in 2025.
00:06:52The checkered flag is out, and it's going to be the first ever double for the McCurk's Yamaha rider.
00:06:59Fantastic stop for Danny Kent.
00:07:04Thruxton was a weekend that me and McCam's racing have been chasing,
00:07:07sort of, for the last year and a half of working together.
00:07:09So, yeah, it was a dream weekend for us.
00:07:12Even brands before that, you know, we're on a five-round podium streak right now.
00:07:18And, yeah, we come here to Cadwell and we'll try and keep that going,
00:07:21although it's going to be very difficult.
00:07:23What made the difference?
00:07:24I mean, clearly, at Thruxton, I could see a man who, from the minute you got on your motorbike,
00:07:29there were an air of confidence about it, big smiles, chatting, not as nervous as general.
00:07:33What was?
00:07:35It was just a small thing in terms of electronics.
00:07:38I've been chasing racing at the end of the day comes down to rider feeling.
00:07:42Every rider feels things differently.
00:07:44And there was a bit of pointing fingers saying it's working over there,
00:07:47so you've got to make it work kind of thing.
00:07:49And it just wasn't working for me.
00:07:51So the team, Tim, made the decision to make a change.
00:07:56And from brands, you know, that change has just suited me massively.
00:08:00Could you tell straight away?
00:08:01Yeah, yeah.
00:08:02It's a feeling that I ran almost all of last year.
00:08:05So it was a feeling that I got used to.
00:08:07And then when I was trying to get it this year and it wasn't there,
00:08:10that's been the frustrating part.
00:08:12But, yeah, from brands, it was in the direction of what I wanted.
00:08:16So you moved up from brands and, in fact, going into Thruxton, you moved from fifth championship to a solid third now.
00:08:23And it looks like you're going forward and it looks like you've got the bike to do that.
00:08:29Yeah, I think I have to agree with you there.
00:08:31Like you said, we've moved up to third, very closely chased by Leon and Skinner.
00:08:37The only downfall is we're now at Cadwell.
00:08:40It's the track that I dread the most coming to on the calendar.
00:08:45Yeah, it's just last year was a real difficult weekend for us.
00:08:49But that doesn't mean we're going to come here this weekend and try our best to improve massively.
00:08:54Well, I mean, on a positive note, I've heard other riders over the years, quite a few of them, say they hate this place
00:08:59and then suddenly they'll make a breakthrough.
00:09:01And within a meeting, it's a place to really enjoy and to get some results.
00:09:05So it's there.
00:09:06Yeah, well, that's the plan.
00:09:07You know, I'm hoping that this weekend is going to be the time that it clicks for me.
00:09:10Alton Park used to be exactly the same.
00:09:13I used to dread go in there and last year it just turned out, didn't do anything different.
00:09:16Just went with a free head.
00:09:18And I guess now I've got Roger in my corner, you know, he's got a lot of experience.
00:09:23He knows his place.
00:09:24He knows his place very well.
00:09:25We were there early in the year, although it was on a 600.
00:09:27We did a few track walks and he was out watching around the track.
00:09:31So I'm hoping that's going to pay dividends this weekend.
00:09:33If you leave here and you're driving out the gate still third at championship,
00:09:37is that the goal or is it better than that?
00:09:40Yeah, that has to be the goal.
00:09:42That has to be the goal.
00:09:43It's going to be difficult.
00:09:44I know Leon's quick round here.
00:09:46Rory wasn't in the race last year with a few injury.
00:09:50But, you know, my main goal this year is to improve by a considerable amount than I did last year.
00:09:56And if we can leave here in third, then I'll be really happy.
00:10:00Well, he has done that.
00:10:02And we're a long way from leaving here happy tomorrow night.
00:10:04There's a long way to go before that can happen, Danny.
00:10:06But he'll be happy so far.
00:10:08Yeah, and I think, you know, he's doing a great job.
00:10:10He's turned the season around.
00:10:11You know, he's had some issues and obviously he's there now or thereabouts.
00:10:14He's riding for his championship as well.
00:10:16You know, he needs to be aggressive here in this first race.
00:10:18And like we saw at Thruxham, he did that, didn't he?
00:10:20He got his elbows out.
00:10:21You know, he was more aggressive than what he usually was.
00:10:23And I think now, especially here, that's what he's got to do.
00:10:26If he wants to win this championship or have a chance at it.
00:10:29Yeah, I mean, he's also on that, like we said earlier, he's on that second row.
00:10:32Stacey, Nesbitt, you know, those guys are really going to be going.
00:10:35And he'll want to try and go, you know, with, you know, definitely with the front row.
00:10:40So it's going to be important that he gets that clean drive.
00:10:43Fourth fastest with that Super Pole lap, Shaky.
00:10:45I think listening to him there and speaking to James,
00:10:47he would have taken that before the start of the weekend.
00:10:49Yeah, but interviewing Danny after the Super Pole lap there,
00:10:53he said he made a few mistakes, a little bit tentative in a couple of places,
00:10:56cost him a little bit of time.
00:10:58You know, could he have been on the front row? Who knows?
00:11:00Good offs, would offs and should offs mean nothing, do they?
00:11:02So, you know, now it's time to get out there, get the elbows out, as Danny said.
00:11:07You know, that's been, in all honesty, the thing that impressed me the most.
00:11:10Not the fact that he won the races at Bruxelles,
00:11:13but the fact that he was so prepared to dig in, get the elbows out.
00:11:17It's something he's been criticised for just a little bit in the past,
00:11:20but, yeah, he needs them elbows out now because this place demands it.
00:11:25As you can hear, it's getting a bit noisy out here.

00:11:32Let's take the opportunity to hear from another one of the stars of the weekend
00:11:35last time out at Thruxton.
00:11:37Max Cook was all action at the Thunderdome.
00:11:40We've got a new feature, it's called Max's Moments, or it could be Max's Madness.
00:11:52We're going to talk about race one at Thruxton.
00:11:55Exceptional.
00:11:56I mean, I could tell watching it that you were pushing the limits there, weren't you?
00:12:02I just absolutely loved it.
00:12:04I think the whole entire race, I just absolutely loved it.
00:12:07And I think in race one, everything I did, it seemed to be work for me.
00:12:11Everything I did was just amazing.
00:12:14That was, surely, was that two tyres touching there on the approach to church call?
00:12:18That is so scary.
00:12:20So the first one, in the church, you've shunted in the back end of a good mate of yours, Charlie Nesbitt.
00:12:28His back wheel has locked your front wheel up.
00:12:31That's about as near as you get to a horrendous fast crash.
00:12:35What were you thinking?
00:12:36Well, yeah, I did just say everything I did were amazing, but that bit wasn't.
00:12:41That bit wasn't very good.
00:12:42Obviously, that could have been probably the worst crash of mine, or even Charlie's.
00:12:47Just so fast.
00:12:48You didn't realise how fast you're going.
00:12:50You know, your fourth gear, like, hurling into there.
00:12:53And when Charlie did, like, sort of go in front of me, when our lines crossed, I just got sucked in.
00:12:59I had this lip-stream effect, but on the brakes.
00:13:01And I just got totally sucked in.
00:13:03And, obviously, they did touch for a bit, but I kind of broke a little bit harder,
00:13:08but just tried to stay as calm as what I could do.
00:13:12You think you were going down?
00:13:14Yeah, in that split second you do.
00:13:16But then it's all fine.
00:13:17So then you just crack on again.
00:13:19The second moment, probably more, but the second moment I recall was into the last chicane, the club chicane.
00:13:30I think that's a great move for Max.
00:13:31Oh, he's gone! He's gone again!
00:13:33How has he stayed on the front and the rear way?
00:13:38That moment was pretty unexpected again.
00:13:40It was quite early on the brakes, but it was late on in the race,
00:13:43and, you know, tyre wear is, you know, the tyres don't feel too good.
00:13:47Yeah, it just folded so quick, but luckily I had it on my knee, so I just released the front brake.
00:13:52But, you know, you're still travelling pretty fast into that chicane.
00:13:56So I run the scooter brake, so I just gave it a handful on the scooter brake, literally just to slow it down.
00:14:01And I knew I could just slide it in and it would come back.
00:14:04Worst case was my exit route. I could have just ran straight over the chicane.
00:14:08But in that moment, I could not afford that at all.
00:14:11So I really, I just took a massive risk and pulled a handful on the rear brake.
00:14:16And luckily it sat in nicely and I didn't make too much of a meal of the chicane, which was good.
00:14:21And then the third moment, big moment, going into church.
00:14:26Oh, smoke at the tyre, Max. Stop it. Stop it.
00:14:31Oh, this entertainment. He deserves the win for this.
00:14:34He's only lost it again. He's gone. He's got nothing left.
00:14:38That's a moment I wish I didn't do, if I'm honest. I really wish, because I just wanted it so much.
00:14:43I just wanted that win so, so badly.
00:14:45And, you know, I was behind Kyle and that was my strongest point of the circuit.
00:14:49And then I got a run onto him into church and I just thought if I'm on the back of him, I'd get the slipstream up to the final chicane.
00:14:56But I just rolled off so late and it still stayed sideways when I picked up the gas.
00:15:02So I just drifted the whole of church and then absolutely ruined my run into the last chicane.
00:15:07Did you look at your day? Were you fairly quick in there?
00:15:10Yeah, I went 20 mile an hour faster than what I did on my qualifying lap.
00:15:14Yeah, that'll do it then.
00:15:15Yeah. Nothing fazed me that whole race, to be honest. I really just wanted that good result.
00:15:20And I'm so glad, you know, I did get it on the podium.
00:15:23Max Cook does see the chequered flag.
00:15:26I don't know how.
00:15:28That's stupendable.
00:15:30Yeah, brilliant performance from Max Cook a couple of weeks ago at Thruxton.
00:15:38Let's see what he's got here at Cadwell Park then.
00:15:40He lines up ninth on the grid.

00:15:46A really great race at Thruxton, really thrilling.
00:15:48And he's a great lad as well.
00:15:50We're not going to go back to talk to him because somebody who's impressed me all this weekend

00:15:57Storm, we've seen you go well here before on a Kawasaki.
00:16:00Probably with less power than you've got now.
00:16:02And again, second row, really good for you and good all weekend.

00:16:07I looked at the speed traps from last year and I was actually last down the back straight on the speed traps.
00:16:12Now I'm first by a bit.
00:16:14Well, surely you should be near the front then, should you?

00:16:17You're near the front on the Kawasaki.
00:16:19But you like this place, obviously.
00:16:20Yeah, I do.
00:16:21I enjoy going around here.
00:16:22I've spent a lot of time in my youth on super motos and stuff around here, mainly in the woodland section.
00:16:27But yeah, just a mega track.
00:16:29If you've got big cojones, you can always have a good time.
00:16:32The plan for you would be to get a start and then do you think you can mix it near the front?
00:16:38What's the plan?
00:16:39I would like to go off this start here, be first into turn one or there or thereabouts.
00:16:43And I would like to lead all the way down to the back straight into park and see how long I can keep it.

00:16:53And I reckon, especially the woodland section which is up there, just at the other side of those trees,
00:16:59being a little bit bigger, a little bit stronger, a little bit longer levers is definitely a good thing.

00:17:08Again, another rider who generally impresses us, one of the newer riders to BSB.
00:17:12Got really good pace, but especially around here.
00:17:15Coming off one of your best meetings ever here last year.

00:17:19It's a year ago, but you picked up where you left off.
00:17:21You've been quick all week and some.
00:17:23Yeah, you know, the bike's been feeling great.
00:17:25The team have done a fantastic job this weekend.
00:17:27You know, and I think we're just going from strength to strength for each session.
00:17:31So, yeah, I'm looking forward to see what we can do in the race and getting right stuck in.

00:18:08But just sitting there around this place on a bike like this with 220, 230 horsepower,
00:18:12I can tell, but I can't tell you because I've never ridden one.
00:18:15I've ridden one with a lot less power and that wasn't easy to sit there, let me tell you.
00:18:19So, this is Danny.
00:18:21Kent, Danny, we've heard from you a little bit.
00:18:25We've played that feature back we did on Friday with you and you were nervous and you were saying you need a breakthrough.
00:18:30I think you've had something of a breakthrough, no?
00:18:33A second and a half quicker than you've ever been around it before?
00:18:35Yeah, I'd say that's a bit of a breakthrough.
00:18:37No, to be fair, I'd say the team's done a mega job.
00:18:40I've impressed myself.
00:18:42Just at the moment, I'm a bit of a roller coaster came through sector three.
00:18:45So, I think we've done good qualifying on the second row and hopefully I can see what I'm doing wrong in that final sector.
00:18:51But everywhere else, we're good.

00:20:27I mean, like you say, you have an out lap, one flying lap.
00:20:29And you have to get lap time to put yourself on the grid.
00:20:32And, obviously, you want to risk a lot to get further up the grid, but not too much.
00:20:36But, yeah, it was a good lap.
00:20:37I enjoyed it.

00:22:42Now, I've just got to say, when you said 18 laps, I just thought, oh, man, I remember doing that on bikes with less power.
00:22:48And I'll tell you, 18 laps, the distance is about the same as we run everywhere.
00:22:51But 18 laps in terms of physical effort around this place is immense.
00:22:56Honestly, hauling these best back 200 kilo bikes where they're full of fuel.
00:23:01That's what they are around this place when you've got as much power as you have.
00:23:06And you've got to be accurate.
00:23:07You know, the little voice at back of your head says you cannot make a mistake here.
00:23:11It will end badly.
00:23:12And that's an extra little bit of pressure.
00:23:14You don't get many places.

00:31:42And you go from shutting the throttle to the brake immediately and then weight pitches forward.
00:31:46So you see that kind of movement from the rear going into the corners.

00:57:47But yeah, just overall super happy to be back on the box and winning again.
00:57:52I think pushing the pace a little bit in the start of the race
00:57:54was a bit of an understatement.
00:57:56That was pretty much pole position lap time in the race itself.

00:58:02The sprint race, I think, will be similar.

00:58:07But the long race, we might have to ease it off a bit at the start

00:58:31because even though you're physically fit, cycling fit, gym fit,
00:58:35ride a bike around here, I can't tell you how hard it is,
00:58:38especially through the woodland section.
00:58:39So, mental race, yeah, I'm just sort of gathering myself after it.
00:58:42It was so exciting the last few laps.
00:58:44But yeah, Brad did what he needed to do. He got the win.
00:58:47You know, I think it's going to be a bit different tomorrow.
00:58:49Yeah, it's the fastest race we've ever seen around here, James.
00:58:52The two guys very much on top of their game
00:58:54and great to see them battling together after, as Kyle said, so many years.
00:58:58Yeah, because it was kind of funny because at first
00:59:00it didn't look like it was going to happen, did it?
00:59:02Because, you know, he had Bridewell crash a few down and out.
00:59:04There was a bit of a gap between them.
00:59:06And then it tightened right back up when Brad sort of slowed it up,
00:59:09you know, when he had a bit of an arm pump or something,
00:59:11and it came back on board. This was so tight.
00:59:14Thank goodness he got away with it because nine times out of ten,
00:59:17you're down or you're both down. So that was quite lucky.
00:59:20And, you know, he came back again, but it was a fantastic ending.
00:59:23And like you say, the new lap record, the pace was great.
00:59:27And it was two different philosophies for it as well.

01:02:07it was Ray versus Ride
01:02:09and that was the first encounter
01:02:10the first time these two have locked horns for many a year
01:02:13cannot wait now for the rematch tomorrow
01:02:20yeah two rematches tomorrow with the sprint race and another feature race to
01:02:24come as well it's a really mouthwatering stuff for tomorrow but what a
01:02:30performance let's just go into it a little bit more on from Andy Irwin's
01:02:34point of view your old teammate Danny he's really been through the mill as in
01:02:37the last couple years various injuries and setbacks yeah 100% you know the
01:02:41injury had a knock ill you know that when he snapped the top of his arm there's
01:02:45so many injuries he's been through you know the bikes not quite been right for
01:02:48him started this year you know he's not been very comfortable on it and yeah I
01:02:52mean like I spoke to him then I was like mate he was in sick place and used it and
01:02:55he was like and then there's a bit crash and he was like didn't get a Kent and
01:02:57then there's a bit he was like I could get a podium and yeah I'm just chuffed
01:03:01for him you know because that kind of just reignites the fire you know stand up
01:03:04there you kind of get yourself bit of you know a bit of pressure off because
01:03:07you've got a podium yeah right let's see what we can do it's a good time of the
01:03:10season to do it as well because you know he would be one of the ones who'd be
01:03:12looking over his shoulder a little bit when you're looking for rides for next
01:03:15year yeah 100% and you know as you said there you know it's amazing what a good
01:03:19result can do to you saw how happy he looked you just have a different vibe to
01:03:22him didn't he even walking up to the podium you know you're that bit taller
01:03:25you're that bit happier and he deserves it you've had to work hard you know
01:03:29beating Christian Nidney on the last couple laps that's never easy yeah and
01:03:32yeah I'm really chuffed for him yeah by his own admission he was helped out a
01:03:36little bit by a few crashes one of them being Danny Kent which is a real shame Danny
01:03:40because of the way that he built his confidence and seemed to have found
01:03:43something around this circuit yeah definitely and it's a bit of a shame
01:03:46really because obviously you know tomorrow he's probably not going to be
01:03:48starting as high up on the grid for the sprint race and as we see him here just
01:03:51just in the you know didn't do much wrong it didn't look like it did a lot
01:03:54wrong sorry I mean his lap two so yeah you've only done left-hander five times
01:03:58you know it's kind of like it's just that it's a little bit of an experience on the
01:04:02circuit because you know that you just you kind of just build that left don't you
01:04:06first couple of laps you're always a bit paranoid going into there and it was
01:04:10unlucky as you say it was just a whisper and if he got through that lap he'd
01:04:13probably been alright but unfortunately he was caught out hopefully it doesn't
01:04:16knock that confidence that it's so important for him to I don't think so
01:04:19you know they'll be able to look at it and as we say it's just that it's the
01:04:23nature of that corner isn't it you know we saw Tommy go down there you know
01:04:26earlier you know you see people go down there especially in the early laps of the
01:04:30race that is Tommy's crash obviously and that was a bit of a weird one that I
01:04:33don't know whether he just caught the grass or the white line or something because it's a very
01:04:37you don't normally see you see him coming out on the high side but you don't
01:04:40normally see it there it was a slightly odd sort of crash that was it yeah
01:04:44normally there you go into the right and you're like all the way to that inside
01:04:47curve aren't you and as you go left you're again on the white line so maybe
01:04:50he clipped the curve you know it looked like it's certainly unsettled the front
01:04:53end there and obviously down he went but doing a good job I was gonna say he was
01:04:56digging in wasn't he close to me a little bit back up on Ray so I think again
01:05:01he'll take a lot of heart from that and you know it's one of those things it
01:05:03happens in racing and he's been riding super well and after that initial break
01:05:08that Ray did you know he'd been working that back in so yeah I think he'll be
01:05:12pleased with with his effort you know up until then I think Tommy looked like he
01:05:15was having to ride so much heart like when you looked at his body language
01:05:19compared to the Yamaha's he looked like he was trying hard and you know if he's
01:05:23pushing 110% he's taking more risk isn't he so you know he I think he should
01:05:27they should look back at that Honda hasn't looked quite as settled this year
01:05:30though has it you know it has looked a more good motorcycle compared to you
01:05:34know it looks so supple and forgiving last year yeah I mean he took it all the
01:05:37way lost the championship you know but you know so closely just this year it has
01:05:42looked a much more fickle motorcycle same case for Charlie Nesbitt then
01:05:46potentially yeah again I mean it's that yeah there's a little sort of stutter
01:05:51bump between those two the the track sort of unloads a bit it's got a bit of a
01:05:55hollow the bike digs in and really smashes itself up you see me a middle bike and
01:06:00it's in a go sort of quite early is is that bit just before you're about to
01:06:04start driving there's a little glass danger zone in the corner and you know
01:06:08again it's a massive punishment for a tiny mistake and the guys are on the
01:06:13limit like when Brad's at the front doing 25 fours they're trying to hang in
01:06:17there they're all on the limit if not over the limit and I can't tell you how
01:06:20easy it is around this track to make a mistake like that and have that you know
01:06:23have a crash as we've seen from obviously Tommy Charlie and Danny it's very
01:06:27easy to do yeah all right well hopefully those guys will be fit and ready to roll
01:06:31again tomorrow the two men at the moment here with us now Brad Ray and Kyle ride
01:06:37after an epic battle around Caldwell Park we're gonna do it twice again tomorrow
01:06:41maybe with a slightly different strategy Brad you went off like a scolded cat from
01:06:45the start there and I mean you put a lot of time into Cal to be fair of the first
01:06:49half of the race yeah now it's a I've got a good start settled in the first few
01:06:52laps and the first flat was like 25 saying I thought Joe I'm just gonna keep
01:06:57going at this pace and see and to be honest I was I was on the limit at the
01:07:02start but my board wasn't going up it was staying staying plus point eight plus
01:07:06point seven plus point eight and yeah got to one point I think maybe and yeah
01:07:12Kyle started catching me up had better pace than me at the towards the end of the
01:07:16race so I sort of eased up the pace maybe a bit too too late in the race and just
01:07:21tried my best to defend on the last lap and for you Kyle you must have been a
01:07:25test of patience really to maintain you know and to and to not panic really when
01:07:29he did put that gap into this yeah I mean even Tommy was faster than me at the
01:07:33start full tank of petrol I had a few moments and it was one of them I knew I
01:07:38had late race pace because I've had it yesterday the gap was a little bit too
01:07:42much that I didn't think I'd catch catch Brad but I just put a few good laps
01:07:45together two laps to go I managed to get on the back and while I'd while I caught him
01:07:49up I had to go into the gooseneck but failed miserably so it was a as you see
01:07:53it was a it was an half-hearted attempt I knew he was there I went back to second
01:07:57to make sure I don't take us both out but just caught the exhaust part Brad said
01:08:00he didn't even feel it I don't know how but it was a good effort and after that
01:08:04Brad defended really well and that was it there's one thing I've been close
01:08:08racing and rubbing around some of that trucks and where there's a load of
01:08:11different lines but yeah one line really unforgiving if you do get it wrong
01:08:15that was that was that's close that's that's close racing around this place
01:08:19yeah no it was like you say it's a it's a one line and when when you're when
01:08:24you're doing 25 it's pretty much a whole race and and I think I went on lap 13
01:08:28done a 25 7 which was underneath the record so when you're doing that that
01:08:33sort of pace it it's difficult to make a pass anywhere and if you do it's gonna
01:08:36take two or three four laps to try and line up and make it safe as well 18 laps is a
01:08:42lot around here I remember that out but more power now physical was it cuz you
01:08:46lost these they can do a reminder pushback without thinking about it you
01:08:49can't ask actually because we've got to let these two go we're getting in trouble
01:08:52you've got to go and get in the in the meantime we'll hear from Christian in and
01:09:01finish fourth is we shaky Christian I'm getting quite used to have to come down
01:09:05and find you in the in the pit lane now another fantastic performance on the AJN
01:09:09steel stock Kawasaki it looked at one point I don't know if you saw what
01:09:12happened up front of you but it looked like it might have been even higher up
01:09:15the grid but a fourth position got to be happy yeah and I've just literally asked
01:09:20the boss for a bonus for fourth because I've had a lot of fourths this year so
01:09:23I think I think I need that extended but no it's good we've had quite good pace
01:09:26apart from FP1 the bikes felt really good in every session so when I was a little
01:09:30bit disappointed with qualifying to know it makes hard work myself but this thing
01:09:33gets off the line real well so I got a good start I struggled a lot we've had like
01:09:37this really weird brake judder going on all weekend and we've changed pretty much
01:09:41everything on the front end and it it came back again like mid-race it was
01:09:44making my eyeballs wobble I could hardly see the apex going into going into that
01:09:47chicane it became really difficult but it's one of them I clearly don't have the
01:09:52pace for the two up front but I think the rest of the race we we've got pace so
01:09:56good job by the AJN steel stock Kawasaki squad we're you know we're knocking in some
01:10:01some good results week on you know week in week out and yeah we're there letting
01:10:05people know that we're we're still around you're a good lab well done
01:10:08Christian thanks mate cheers very much still around actually he had a real good
01:10:12weekend at Thruxton last time as well and he's brought that here good season I
01:10:15think what you see there is about this maybe you're gonna blame me for saying
01:10:19this but probably a little bit past its base however the the team is so
01:10:23cohesive and all wanting the same thing got a pair of good riders max is having a
01:10:28brilliant season as well I think they kind of punch in a little bit above the
01:10:31weight brilliant he'll be fighting for the podium again tomorrow your thoughts on how
01:10:34that's gonna pan out I think it's gonna be Brad he's gonna be Kyle I can't wait
01:10:38to see what they're gonna show us tomorrow I think they are gonna be the
01:10:43ones to be and they are gonna take some beating if they can get off the line but
01:10:45certainly Christian you'll be looking for a podium okay well if it's anything
