00:00You just hope that you've moved Jerry Judy out of the X receiver position.
00:04You're going to move him around now.
00:06So you just hope that this supporting cast is going to be good enough to elevate the quarterback position
00:12because there are going to be some plays where you're just going to bury your face in your hands.
00:16Are we going to see Austin Barber start at right guard on Sunday?
00:20I think there's a pretty good chance.
00:22Tevin Jenkins did not practice yesterday with a back injury.
00:26I don't know if it's back spasms or what, but he left practice early on Wednesday, was limited,
00:33and then did not practice yesterday.
00:35And also, too, keep in mind, I mean, these things, they tend to work themselves out one way or another.
00:43And, you know, the coaching staff, Todd Munkin, had said late in camp that, you know,
00:50Austin Barber was coming along and, you know, they weren't ready to name Tevin Jenkins the starting right guard.
00:58We had just, like, all assumed that the starting off the line had been, you know, set pretty much.
01:04And so that was a little bit of a surprise when he said that Austin Barber is going to get
01:08a look at that starting right guard job before week one.
01:11And now here we are, you know, on Friday, we'll ultimately see if Tevin practices today and what his game
01:17status is.
01:18But I think there's a better chance than not that you'll have two rookies on that starting offensive line in
01:24Austin Barber
01:24and, of course, Spencer Feneau at left tackle.
01:27Do you think that's part of the reason that Shador is not playing on Sunday?
01:31What, the rookies on the offensive line?
01:32Well, it's not just rookies on the offensive line.
01:34I mean, you've got five new ones there.
01:36Yeah, I mean, it's a whole new line.
01:37You know, I think there's – I really think that the decision to start Deshaun Watson doesn't come down to
01:46just one singular thing.
01:47I think that there are just a lot of factors from, you know, he's a veteran, got the experience to,
01:54you know,
01:55all those – the pre-snap assignments and processing and things like that.
02:00Deshaun, you know, might be a little further ahead than Shador is there.
02:05You want to give Deshaun one last shot here after everything he did to get himself healthy and, you know,
02:13get back on the field.
02:14Yes, he legitimately does give the Browns their best chance.
02:17And as of right now, he really is the best quarterback that's in that room.
02:21But, look, we're going to see Shador Sanders at some point here, okay?
02:24You know, rebuild offensive line to your point, Ken.
02:27So, there are so many reasons, I think, why Deshaun Watson is starting week one.
02:33But I think within a month, a month and a half or so, Shador Sanders is going to be on
02:39the field as the starting quarterback.
02:41I could argue that nobody suffered from last year's poor offensive line play more than Quitshaun Junkins.
02:48We obviously didn't see him in the preseason much at all in training camp even.
02:53What are you expecting out of the running game?
02:56Because we know that's going to be a huge formula for this team to actually look competent.
03:00Yeah, look, he's healthy.
03:02He looks like the player that they drafted in the second round last year.
03:07He looks like the guy we saw early in the season.
03:11I would agree with you, Anthony.
03:12Anthony, I think that he got worn down because there was a point where he was leading the NFL in
03:19yards after contact.
03:22And then that started to slide backwards.
03:26His yards per carry started to slide backwards.
03:28And then he got hurt, you know, suffering that dislocated ankle and the broken leg.
03:33So, he did a great job rehabbing and getting himself healthy again.
03:39And you wouldn't know that he suffered that injury just watching him in training camp.
03:44So, I know we didn't get to see a lot of him in the preseason.
03:47That's by design.
03:48You want to save him for the regular season.
03:51I don't know that there was much for him to show or prove in the preseason.
03:54And, you know, hopefully this offensive line can do enough to allow him to show folks how good of a
04:02running back he is.
04:03Because I do think he has the potential to be one of the better running backs in the league.
04:07Daryl Ryder joining us here.
04:09And Daryl is brought to you by...
04:11Tybin Jewelers, Cleveland's premier jewelry store.
04:13Or were you pleased with Myles Garrett's performance yesterday?
04:19Did Myles play yesterday?
04:20Oh, boy!
04:24I didn't even know he was on the field.
04:26Other than Netflix pointing him out on every play.
04:30Whoa!
04:31Daryl!
04:32And pointing out everything he wasn't doing on every play.
04:35Whoa!
04:35Was he a Jim Schwartz sack merchant?
04:39And how tired he'd look on every play.
04:42Whoa!
04:44What?
04:45You know what?
04:46Myles has used the starting seasons 0-1.
04:48So, I don't know what the big deal is.
04:50Oh, Daryl.
04:51I mean, that's like seven of them.
04:53This is the lightning rod.
04:54He's rapid fire.
04:56It sounded a lot like Kevin in the postgame.
04:58I have a hot take for you.
05:01I don't think this Rams team is going to be the super juggernaut that everyone thinks that they're going to
05:08be.
05:09Whoa!
05:10Oh, come on.
05:11If you're going to do it, do it.
05:12I don't think they're getting to the Super Bowl.
05:15I really don't.
05:16You don't?
05:17No, I don't.
05:18Just because of one game?
05:19No, because, you know what?
05:22This is, you know, throughout the history of the NFL, we always see this, where teams have these big off
05:29seasons, right?
05:30And they bring in all these star players, either through trades or just throwing bags of cash at them.
05:36And then everyone hypes up the team, and, oh, this is the team to beat, and then they end up
05:43flopping.
05:45The Rams are older, okay?
05:48You know, their quarterback situation doesn't look all that great, although I would take it over what the Browns have.
05:56And I just, I'm not sold that they're just this invincible monster.
06:02Yes, I think they're going to be a good team, but I don't think that they're going to be, I
06:06don't think they're going to win the Super Bowl.
06:07I really don't.
06:08I don't even think they're getting to the Super Bowl.
06:11So, but they'll be good.
06:13They'll make the playoffs.
06:14But, yeah, no, I don't think they're winning the Super Bowl or getting to the Super Bowl.
06:17So, Darrell, do you believe that they did the right thing by traveling to Australia the day before the game?
06:24Oh, absolutely not.
06:26And that showed.
06:27I mean, you watch that game.
06:29One team looked like they were well-rested, and the other team looked like they just walked off the plane,
06:34and they literally just walked off the plane.
06:36So, a little surprising, Sean McVay kind of blew that one because they're so, you know, they're so, I hate
06:43talking about analytics and stuff like that.
06:47But they're one of the organizations that do it really, really well in applying data and information.
06:54And I'm just a little surprised that, you know, he decided to wait as long as they did to make
07:05such a long trip.
07:07Is it just that they were punting the game?
07:09Is it just as easy as that, that they basically treated it like a preseason game?
07:13Well, the second half, it looked like they treated it like the preseason game.
07:16I mean, that was not really a great game.
07:21I mean, the first half was okay, but it got out of hand in the second half.
07:25And, yeah, I wasn't, yeah, I wanted to turn the thing off, but it was like, you know, you're driving
07:33down the highway,
07:33and you see a car wreck, and everyone's doing the rubbernecking.
07:35Well, I was doing some rubbernecking in the second half.
07:37I couldn't take my eyes off that disaster for the Rams.
07:40Daryl Ryder, do you tell us who you're picking yet?
07:44No, you didn't ask.
07:46Do you want me to ask now, or are you going to wait until Sunday?
07:49No, I made my pick last night with Coach Riz on our preview YouTube show.
07:55Oh, I'm sorry.
07:56I was at football practice.
07:57No, that's all right.
07:59But, no, Coach Riz took the Browns.
08:01He has them scoring three touchdowns, even though there were, you know, stretches last year
08:05where the Browns didn't score three touchdowns in a month.
08:07He's very optimistic.
08:09I am not.
08:10But I do think the Browns cover.
08:12I think I went, like, 24-17 or 23-17, something like that.
08:17I've got them covering, but I don't think that they'll win.
08:20All right, Daryl, fine.
08:24You're mad at me now, because I, you know.
08:26I just feel like I'm the mayor of a ghost town.
08:28Like, okay, yeah, there's five people there, Ken.
08:31Congratulations.
08:32You know what?
08:33If they win on Sunday, you guys get to take victory laps.
08:37Yeah, but if they lose on Sunday, it's going to be even worse.
08:41Why?
08:41Because people are just going to call me a homer and an idiot.
08:44Oh, wow.
08:44Like, I can deal with those things for other stuff.
08:46I just, I really do, for football reasons, believe that this will probably be the only game I pick them
08:52to win,
08:53and I believe they will win.
08:55Like, I'm not picking them.
08:56I'm telling you right now, I don't see myself picking them next week.
08:59I just don't.
08:59I don't see myself picking them, even at home against Carolina, which is kind of like a,
09:04you don't know what type of team they're going to be.
09:06I can't see myself doing it.
09:08Yeah, I think Pittsburgh would be the game.
09:11Maybe.
09:11Yeah.
09:12I might pick them on.
09:13Because Thursday night, they always play well on Thursday night.
09:16As long as Deshaun Watts is the quarterback, it's hard to pick them,
09:19because he's just not shown any consistency out there.
09:23You know what I mean?
09:24And I'm not saying you are, so don't take this wrong way.
09:28But, like, I make my picks based on what I actually think is going to happen,
09:31and I think the Browns will play well.
09:34They'll look like a better team.
09:36They'll be competitive.
09:37But I think, in the end, Jacksonville's experience and their talent will ultimately win out,
09:42and, you know, they'll win by six or seven points.
09:44But, you know, the folks that have the Browns two-score underdogs here,
09:49I think that's a little much, because I do think this is a better football team.
09:52I just don't think that there'll be enough.
09:54All right, Daryl, thank you.
09:55Talk to you next week.
09:57You bet, guys.
09:57Have a good weekend.
