00:00Ye servants of God, your master proclaim, and publisher brought his wonderful name,
00:13the label victorious of Jesus exiled, his kingdom is glorious and rules over all.
00:26What is happening here in 1 Chronicles chapter 28 is David is instructing his son Solomon about building the temple,
00:35beginning in verse 1.
00:38Now David assembled at Jerusalem all the leaders of Israel, the officers of the tribes, the captains of the divisions
00:45who served the king,
00:46the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance,
00:52and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officials, the valiant men, and all the mighty men
01:00of valor,
01:01the house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God,
01:08and had made preparations to build it.
01:11But God said to me, You shall not build a house for my name, because you have been a man
01:16of war and have shed blood.
01:19However, the Lord God of Israel chose me above all the house of my father to be king over Israel
01:25forever.
01:27For he has chosen Judah to be the ruler, and of the house of Judah, the house of my father,
01:34and among the sons of my father, he was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.
01:42And of all my sons, for the Lord has given me many sons, he has chosen my son Solomon to
01:48sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
01:52Now he said to me, It is your son Solomon who shall build my house and my courts, for I
01:59have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
02:03Moreover, I will establish his kingdom forever, if he is steadfast to observe my commandments and my judgments, as it
02:12is this day.
02:13Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God,
02:19be careful to seek out all the commandments of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land,
02:26and have it as an inheritance for your children after you forever.
02:32As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a loyal heart and
02:40with a willing mind.
02:42For the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts.
02:48If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off
02:54forever.
02:55Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary.
02:59Be strong, be strong, and do it.
03:02Just so far.
03:04And then if you'll come over with me to the book of Malachi.
03:07You probably know the history of the book of Malachi far better than I do.
03:12Basically, the book of Malachi is God complaining to Israel and them saying,
03:17but what did we do wrong?
03:18How did we do something wrong?
03:20And he explained to them what they had.
03:22But the verse I want to take to you is in Malachi chapter 3 and verse 16.
03:31Because these conversations between God and his servants and the priests and whoever he was speaking to,
03:40probably to Malachi himself in this, and the answers were coming.
03:44In verse 16, it says,
03:48Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and heard them.
03:54So a book of remembrance was written before him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on his
04:01name.
04:02They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, on the day that I make them my jewels,
04:07and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.
04:11Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked,
04:15between the one who serves God and the one who does not serve him.
04:20So with that in mind and what we read in 1 Chronicles about David's injunction to Solomon,
04:29what comes out of this is that records are made of conversations.
04:36Records are kept.
04:37The book of remembrance we're told about in the book of Malachi was written.
04:42God heard and recorded the response of the people who feared the Lord.
04:50Now the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
04:54Without fear, which is not a trembling fear, it is an awesome respect of God.
05:01Without that respect for God, indeed, without that respect for anyone,
05:07if you do not respect your fellow man, you are not going to be respected in return.
05:13You are going to be shunned, much more so with God.
05:17If we do not respect God, then he will have no respect for us.
05:24Because that fear, that awesome recognition of the living God is not there.
05:29And so our attitude would be wrong.
05:32Our response to God would be wrong.
05:34We would be looking at it from a, hello mate, how are you, kind of a thing,
05:38instead of bowing our knees to the Lord.
05:40For every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord one day.
05:44Which people refuse to do in the stages of things as they are at the moment.
05:50But what David said to Solomon was,
05:54you need to serve him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind.
05:58And a willing mind in verse 9.
06:01Which is vital to every single believer.
06:04And as much as it was written to Solomon, it's written for our edification.
06:08And our ability to comprehend what is required of every single believer.
06:13But loyalty, willingness, and a reverence for the living God.
06:19If you do not respect your own earthly father,
06:23you're not going to respect your heavenly father.
06:26If you don't respect the word of God that has been given to us,
06:30written by the hands of men,
06:32under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit,
06:35you're not going to respect God Almighty.
06:39And we need to respect one another.
06:41But to respect someone, you need to develop a relationship.
06:45You have a casual respect for somebody that you happen to meet.
06:50Hello, I'm pleased to meet you.
06:51You go your way.
06:53But that respect develops or disintegrates
06:58when you start having conversations with the person,
07:02or you start working with the person.
07:04And you find out where the morals and the integrity lie.
07:10And in my experience,
07:15over 90% it would be negative.
07:18I have no respect for the people with whom I have to do.
07:23And I'm not including that number in the church.
07:26I'm including that number in the secular people I have to do with.
07:32It's a very, very low figure
07:36that is there for respect amongst the people with whom I have to do.
07:43I found a little pamphlet.
07:44I didn't mislead.
07:46I actually threw it out to show my wife,
07:48and then I forgot to put it back in my pocket to bring it.
07:51But it said, crumbling Britain.
07:54Yeah.
07:55Crumbling Britain.
07:57We're in a land which is breaking, broken,
08:00and the only thing that's holding it together at the moment
08:05is the people and the size and everything is history.
08:11But the morals are gone.
08:14The integrity is gone.
08:17There's nothing of substance holding Britain together anymore.
08:22Everything has had it.
08:24Abortion, one of the things I looked at,
08:27I quickly glanced through it,
08:29297,000 babies aborted last year.
08:33Some of the ladies who aborted have had 50 abortions.
08:38You cannot believe what you're reading.
08:41The males of Britain are obese.
08:44They spend their time sitting around at work,
08:47and then they go home and they sit and watch TV,
08:50and they get drunk, and they are obese,
08:52and they can't do anything.
08:56I got a message the other day saying,
09:00the British Army has cancelled its training program
09:07because there's no money.
09:10Britain is crumbling.
09:12But with that, everything falling down around about us,
09:16there's still a foundation for the church of God
09:21because the authorities that are uncontrolled are appointed by God.
09:25The authorities that are making a mess of everything are appointed by God.
09:30And he has brought these authorities into the land
09:33to punish the land
09:35because this is the country that sent out missionaries
09:39and colonists, South Africa, the Congo,
09:43and many other places, India,
09:45and all over the world, Great Britain.
09:49What did they call it then, Jeff, when it was the...
09:54Well, the British Empire.
09:55The British Empire.
09:56The British Empire.
09:58It's no more the British Empire anymore.
10:00The king has a throne, but it's meaningless.
10:04It's pointless.
10:05It has no authority anymore.
10:07The royal family is broken.
10:09It's disintegrated.
10:10Nobody respects them anymore
10:12because of their conduct, their morals, their integrity.
10:15It's all gone.
10:16It's all gone.
10:18Which highlights the situation that we are in
10:21and gives us the impetus to revere God,
10:24to revere one another,
10:26to lift up one another and say,
10:27Hang on there.
10:28Hold on.
10:29This is how we ought to go.
10:31And we have the word of God
10:33not as the anchor,
10:35but we have the word given to us
10:37as an instruction to the anchor
10:39of how we're going to survive
10:42what is happening in the world.
10:44God is not going to forsake us,
10:46nor leave us alone.
10:48He's very aware.
10:50Very, very aware of what's going on.
10:52He was very, very aware
10:55when he went to Abraham.
10:57And as he was going past,
10:59Abraham said to these three men,
11:00Come in and have some lunch.
11:02And they had lunch,
11:03and they said,
11:04Well, shall we hide from him
11:05what we're going to do?
11:07Prior to that lot,
11:08it left Abraham because of the problems
11:11that the herdsmen were having.
11:13Too many cattle,
11:14too little grazing,
11:15too little water.
11:15Hang on, we have to split up.
11:17And so the Bible says
11:18that he pitched his tent closer
11:20and closer and closer,
11:22and eventually he became
11:24one of the men sitting in the gate.
11:27In other words,
11:28he had authority in Sodom.
11:31And these men came,
11:32and they said to Abraham,
11:34Well, this is what the story is.
11:36We've come to see
11:36if the outcry
11:38is as great
11:39as we have heard it to be.
11:43How great is the outcry
11:44of Britain
11:46from the righteous
11:47to the Lord?
11:48As loud, I wonder,
11:50as the outcry
11:51of the few
11:52that were in Sodom?
11:54Because the Lord said,
11:55and as Abraham was talking to him,
11:57Are you really going to
11:58destroy it for 50?
12:00And he brought the number down,
12:01and the Lord said,
12:02Even for 10,
12:03I would not destroy it.
12:0410 people.
12:06So was the righteous cry
12:07being made to the Lord
12:09by 10 people saying,
12:11Help us.
12:12Look at what's happening.
12:13Look at what's happening.
12:14But the point is,
12:15the cry reached up to heaven,
12:16and God came to see.
12:18And we're told that
12:19he would not destroy it
12:21even for 10.
12:23They went in there,
12:24and we know the story,
12:25and I'm repeating it
12:26just because it's good
12:26to remind ourselves
12:27of these things.
12:28They took Lod
12:29and his wife
12:30and his children,
12:31and his children,
12:32and said,
12:33Get out of here.
12:33We're going to destroy it.
12:34We can't destroy it
12:36until you are out
12:37of the city.
12:39I take comfort from that
12:41with the lesson
12:42which is to me
12:43that God is not going
12:45to destroy where I am
12:47until he's taken me
12:49out of it,
12:49wherever it might be.
12:51If I'm in Britain,
12:52with all my brothers
12:53and sisters,
12:54he's not going to destroy Britain
12:55until he's taken
12:56the believers out.
12:58Wherever in the world
13:00the believers are,
13:01God looks after his own.
13:02He's not going to desert us.
13:04He is my father,
13:05and I take comfort
13:08in a father.
13:09My father loves me
13:11and cares for me
13:13and provides for me.
13:14My earthly father did that.
13:15Why will my heavenly father
13:17not do that?
13:19He gave his son
13:20to die
13:20a gruesome cross,
13:22a gruesome death
13:24on the cross
13:25that I can have
13:25eternal life.
13:27Me,
13:27who was an enemy
13:28in my mind
13:29of God.
13:30I knew of God,
13:32but I never went
13:33to church.
13:35I happened to say
13:36the Lord's Prayer
13:37every night
13:38when I was a kid.
13:39I don't know why.
13:40I don't know where
13:40I learnt it,
13:41but before I went to sleep
13:43I had to say
13:44the Lord's Prayer.
13:45I can't explain it.
13:49But that was
13:50the sum total
13:51of my education
13:53in the Bible
13:54of God.
13:55And I grew up
13:57without any knowledge
13:58beyond saying
13:59the Lord's Prayer.
14:00I said to you
14:02that I was dragged
14:02to church
14:03for the children's sake.
14:04At least I think
14:05I did that.
14:05Or was it this morning?
14:07But I was dragged
14:08to church by my life
14:09for the children's sake
14:10that they would grow up
14:11knowing the Lord.
14:12I still didn't
14:14know God.
14:15The preacher
14:16was an excellent
14:17speaker
14:19and the church
14:20was full
14:20when the speaker
14:21was there.
14:22And when he wasn't there
14:24he became a moderator
14:25of the Southern
14:27African Methodist Church
14:29I think,
14:29although he wasn't
14:30Methodist.
14:31When he wasn't there
14:32the church was empty.
14:33When he was there
14:34as an indication
14:34of his eloquency
14:36the church was full.
14:38But I still
14:39didn't know God
14:42until one day
14:43the fertilizer salesman
14:44where I was farming
14:45in Southern Hotel
14:46came to me
14:47after having done
14:47the soil sampling test
14:49which is necessary
14:50for you to get crops
14:51to see what
14:52the nutrient requirement
14:54of your soil is.
14:55And the first thing
14:56he did to me
14:56instead of saying to me
14:57look here's
14:58here's your list
14:59of requirements
15:00he says to me
15:01do you know God?
15:03So I said
15:04my name's Ken
15:05what do you know?
15:06Yeah I don't know
15:06my name's Alan
15:07and he says
15:07do you know God?
15:08And I said
15:09well I know other
15:10do you know Jesus?
15:11And I said
15:11yeah I know him
15:12I believe that he's
15:14he died on the cross.
15:15He said yes
15:16that's fine
15:17and
15:17and
15:18he said
15:18well I believe
15:19I said I believe.
15:20He said
15:20well that's well
15:21that's good.
15:21He said
15:22Satan also believes
15:24and you believe.
15:25So what's the difference?
15:28And
15:28yeah I was shocked
15:29and said to him
15:31well what do I do?
15:32And he told me
15:32I had to be born again
15:33and I got born again
15:34that day
15:35after that
15:35my life changed
15:36and I had
15:38no one to turn to
15:39except for the Bible
15:40that I did have.
15:41I don't know why
15:42I had the Bible
15:43but there was one there
15:44and I started to read
15:45the Bible.
15:46There was no church
15:47nearby to go to
15:48there were no Bible studies
15:49to go to
15:50it was just the Word
15:51of God and I.
15:52And so from that
15:53I grew
15:53to know who God was
15:55and I grew
15:56to understand
15:56that God
15:57is a God of order.
15:59God desires
16:00and demands
16:01obedience.
16:02I read what happened
16:03to the Israelites
16:04their disobedience
16:06and how they dishonored him
16:08and how they worship
16:08something else
16:09beside him
16:10and their love
16:11was cast upon
16:12something else
16:13and you know
16:13I started to compare
16:14what I was reading
16:16with life
16:16as I knew it.
16:17If you love someone
16:18you love somebody
16:19you don't love this one
16:19and that one
16:20and that one
16:20and the next one
16:21you love
16:22your love is concentrated
16:24and I started to find out
16:26that God
16:27is a strict Father.
16:30He says
16:30you better keep the law.
16:32This is in the Old Testament
16:33and then I read
16:34about the New Testament
16:35how the Israelites
16:37failed him
16:39again and again
16:40and again
16:40to the point
16:41that he turned away
16:42from them.
16:43He gave them over
16:45and then he sent
16:46his son
16:46who died on the cross
16:48for me.
16:48and so with that
16:52I've come to
16:53the understanding
16:55that
16:56I'm a born again believer
16:58I believe in Jesus
16:59I believe in God
17:00I believe I'm going
17:01to heaven
17:01but I also believe
17:03that I have a responsibility
17:04the responsibility
17:06to God
17:06to keep myself
17:07in his love
17:09and the only way
17:10that I can do that
17:11is by abiding
17:12what he tells me
17:13to do in the word
17:14to pray without ceasing
17:15to not forsake
17:17the gathering
17:17of the saints
17:18to worship God
17:20to exalt him alone
17:21who are lost
17:23we have a responsibility
17:25to the Lord
17:27and with that
17:28I'll sort of
17:29bring up a few things here
17:31first of all
17:31we've already read
17:33about the obedience
17:35and the willingness
17:36well that was the other
17:37thing that was here
17:38that was spoken about
17:40a loyal heart
17:41and a willing mind
17:42a willing mind
17:44that is what I wanted
17:45to speak about
17:45with a few verses here
17:47willingness
17:48to do something
17:51is 99% of success
17:55much the same
17:56as if you're wanting
17:57to go
17:58and apply for a job
18:01you're 99% assured
18:03of getting the job
18:04if you turn up
18:05but you're not going
18:06to get the job
18:07if you don't turn up
18:08the 1% depends
18:09on your presentation
18:11upon your knowledge
18:12upon your understanding
18:14upon how you connect
18:16with your interviewer
18:17but you need to turn up
18:19there needs to be
18:20a willingness
18:20we need to have
18:23a desire
18:24to do
18:25what God
18:26is wanting us to do
18:29in Isaiah chapter 1
18:31in verse 19
18:32God says
18:33through Isaiah
18:34let us reason together
18:36he's not an unreasonable God
18:38he will reason
18:40and he says there
18:41let us reason together
18:43and part of what he was saying
18:46there came out
18:47with willingness
18:48and obedience
18:49if you're willing
18:50and if you're obedient
18:52if we are willing
18:54and obedient
18:55to the Lord
18:55he is going to be
18:58so patient with us
19:00he will reprimand us
19:02and rebuke us
19:03for odds and ends
19:04now and again
19:04but he will be so patient
19:06if we have
19:07that willingness
19:08and that obedience
19:11Jesus was asked
19:13about cleansing
19:14and the leper
19:15are you willing
19:16and he said
19:17of course
19:18I'm willing
19:18and the leper
19:19was cleansed
19:20Jesus had a willing mind
19:24Mark chapter 14
19:25verse 38
19:27the spirit
19:28we are told
19:29is willing
19:30and the flesh
19:31is weak
19:32and that
19:33is the problem
19:34that we have
19:35in our lives
19:36we want to do something
19:38it's the right thing
19:39to do
19:39oh I'm so tired
19:40I don't think
19:41I'm going to do that
19:42oh it's the right thing
19:43to do
19:44to go and apologise
19:45oh I can't do that
19:47I'm going to embarrass myself
19:49and so
19:50what I start weighing up
19:52is
19:53my flesh presentation
19:55against
19:55what God
19:56is actually
19:57wanting me to do
19:59and it becomes
20:00a very
20:01very
20:03decisive
20:03chasm
20:04between the two
20:06and the two
20:07cannot meet
20:08to say
20:08well hang on a second
20:09we're going to have
20:10a compromise
20:11and go down
20:12the middle road
20:12you either do that
20:13or you do that
20:14if you do that
20:15your flesh is going to suffer
20:16and if you do that
20:17well your spirit
20:18is going to give you
20:20trouble probably
20:20but you're going to be okay
20:22and so
20:23we tend to
20:24weigh up the pros
20:26and cons
20:26between what the flesh says
20:28and what the spirit says
20:29and many many times
20:30we do what the flesh
20:31wants us to do
20:32the spirit
20:33is so gentle
20:34and quiet
20:35he might rebuke us
20:36in one way or another
20:37but not directly
20:38to our face
20:39as the fleshly person
20:40would do
20:41if we went and apologized
20:42and said
20:42well sorry
20:43now I took your car
20:44and I framed it
20:46it's a different state
20:47of affairs
20:48altogether
20:502 Corinthians chapter 8
20:52and verse 12
20:53if there is first
20:55a willing mind
20:56it is accepted
20:57according to
20:58what one has
20:59and not according
21:01to what he does
21:02not have
21:05so often times
21:06we put
21:07impossible hurdles
21:10in front of us
21:10because we limit
21:13our capacity
21:14because I
21:15don't reach
21:17the level
21:18of perceived
21:19acceptance
21:20that I have to
21:21proclaim
21:22or profess
21:23or show
21:25to whoever
21:27I'm with
21:27and often times
21:30the willingness
21:31is not
21:32expected
21:33nor is it
21:34not
21:34looked at
21:35but
21:36what he tells us
21:37here
21:38in chapter
21:398
21:40of Corinthians
21:41if there is a
21:42willing mind
21:43and I'm talking
21:44now about the Lord
21:45it is accepted
21:47according to
21:48what he has
21:49so to the limit
21:50of your
21:51understanding
21:52God will accept
21:53you if you are
21:54willing to try
21:55if you are
21:56willing to pray
21:57if you are
21:58willing to sing
21:59if you are
21:59willing to preach
22:00if you are
22:01willing to go
22:02and take the
22:02gospel to someone
22:03do it in your
22:05natural capacity
22:06believing that
22:07God is helping
22:08there needs to be
22:10that willingness
22:10to be able to do it
22:11if there is that
22:12willingness
22:13then God
22:14will support us
22:15and help us
22:16to be able to
22:17have success
22:18in what we do
22:19he is not going
22:20to look at us
22:21and judge us
22:22because we
22:23are trying to
22:24do something
22:25and we don't
22:25know what
22:26we are doing
22:26we are just
22:27given an
22:28indication
22:29to go
22:29and speak
22:31to that person
22:31but not to
22:32know what
22:33to speak
22:33about
22:33and so we
22:34judge
22:35according to
22:36the willingness
22:37with which
22:37we then
22:38conduct ourselves
22:39and present
22:40ourselves
22:41to the Lord
22:432 Peter
22:44chapter 3
22:44in verse 9
22:45we are told
22:46there that
22:47the Lord
22:47is not willing
22:48that any
22:49should perish
22:50but all
22:51should come
22:52to eternal
22:53life
22:53and that
22:54is where
22:55we are
22:56at the moment
22:57waiting for
22:58the Lord
22:58to come
22:58not willing
22:59that any
22:59should perish
23:00and wondering
23:01why he is
23:02taking so long
23:03when you see
23:04the world
23:04in the disarray
23:05in the wars
23:06and the rumors
23:07of wars
23:08and everything
23:08that is happening
23:09at the moment
23:09but he is not
23:10willing
23:11that any
23:12should perish
23:12but that all
23:13should come
23:13to repentance
23:14the Lord
23:15has a will
23:17and he is
23:17willing
23:18to save us
23:20he will
23:21save us
23:22will and
23:23willing
23:23are part and
23:24parcel
23:24of the same
23:26sentence
23:27in a way
23:27I will do it
23:28meaning I am
23:29willing to do it
23:30possibly
23:31I might will do it
23:32because I have to do it
23:34but if I am doing
23:34with an unwilling heart
23:36well I am not going
23:37to give it my full
23:38effort
23:39as I ought to do
23:40but if I will do it
23:42and I am willing
23:42to do it
23:43if a person is
23:45willing to do something
23:46they will go
23:46the extra mile
23:47and that is what
23:48he is wanting
23:49of us
23:49to have that
23:50sort of
23:51personality
23:52and emphasis
23:53to be willing
23:54to do it
23:56Ephesians chapter 4
23:57and verse 23
23:58we are told
24:00there that we need
24:01to be renewed
24:02in the spirit
24:03of our mind
24:04in the mind
24:05is where we have
24:06a problem
24:07whether we will
24:08or whether we will not
24:09and there
24:10is where the big
24:11argument
24:12happens
24:12so we need
24:13to be renewed
24:15in the spirit
24:16of our mind
24:16that we may be able
24:17to know what
24:18God's good
24:18and perfect
24:19will is
24:20that we might
24:21be able
24:21to make
24:22a right decision
24:22for what he is
24:23wanting us to do
24:24but that being renewed
24:26comes in Romans chapter 12
24:28and verse 2
24:29we need to be transformed
24:32changed
24:33by the renewing
24:34of our mind
24:35if we do not
24:36change
24:38well then we are
24:38going to go
24:39with the same mindset
24:40as we always have
24:41and we find
24:42that we are not
24:43going to be able
24:43to perform
24:44do what the Lord
24:45is wanting to do
24:46it's not conforming
24:48it's transforming
24:49so we need to have
24:50that mind
24:51of Christ
24:52which is transforming us
24:54changing us
24:55changing the inward man
24:57and being renewed
24:58day by day
24:59we need to get things
25:01into perspective
25:01our point of view
25:02has to be
25:04the point of view
25:05that God is wanting
25:06of us
25:06and expect of us
25:08in the capacity
25:09that he has given us
25:10if it is just
25:11to attend the meeting
25:12so be it
25:13and if it is to sing
25:15so be it
25:15but whatever it may be
25:17let us do it
25:17unto the Lord
25:18because he is the one
25:20who makes the records
25:22who takes the records
25:24the Lord heard
25:25and the book of remembrance
25:26was written
25:26we need to remember
25:28that everything that happens
25:30everything that happens
25:31in our lives
25:32everything that happens
25:34in the church
25:34everything that happens
25:36in all the unbelievers
25:38is recorded
25:41everything
25:41there is not
25:42anything which is
25:43left to chance
25:44records
25:45we are told
25:46in the book of
25:47Revelation chapter 22
25:49I think
25:49records
25:50are open
25:52books are open
25:53the book of life
25:54is open
25:56I was
25:58amazed
25:58at the size
25:59of the new Jerusalem
26:02talking about
26:03the number of books
26:04or the amount
26:05of records
26:05that there have to be
26:07if you think
26:07of all the people
26:08in the world
26:09for whom
26:09there have to be
26:10records
26:12would anybody like
26:13to guess
26:14how big the new Jerusalem
26:15is
26:17it's 12,000
26:19furlongs
26:20square
26:2412,000 furlongs
26:26is
26:261,500
26:28miles
26:29cubed
26:30it's 1,500
26:32miles long
26:33and it's 1,500
26:34miles wide
26:36and it's 1,500
26:37miles high
26:39one cubit
26:40is 18 inches
26:42it's 12,000 cubits
26:44and that works out
26:45at 1,500
26:46miles
26:48to put that
26:50into perspective
26:50I decided to find out
26:52what the size
26:53of the nearest
26:54piece of land
26:55that I could think
26:55of would be
26:56to the closest
26:57of 1,500
26:59miles square
27:01I remind you
27:02I'm talking about
27:02the new Jerusalem
27:05the new Jerusalem
27:06is almost
27:06the size
27:07of Australia
27:10that was
27:11astounding
27:11to me
27:12the figures
27:12are there
27:13in the book
27:13of revelations
27:14work it out
27:15for yourself
27:15and just tell me
27:16if I'm wrong
27:16or if I'm right
27:17but that's what
27:18I found out
27:18I did use Google
27:22that's the area
27:24which comes up
27:25so if it is
27:26so huge
27:27how big
27:28would the library
27:28be
27:28or the
27:29the judgment
27:30will be
27:30or the record
27:31will be
27:32for all the records
27:33all the books
27:34that have to be stored
27:35it's massive
27:36we negate
27:37the size of God
27:38the power of God
27:40the magnificence
27:41of God
27:42when I just read
27:43about the new Jerusalem
27:44I thought of
27:45Jerusalem in Israel
27:46at the moment
27:47it's got dates
27:48in it
27:48and it's that big
27:49but when I read that
27:50then I thought
27:51wow
27:52so it's something
27:53incredible that's coming
27:54and you know
27:55that we are part
27:56of God's plan
27:58we are sons
27:59sons of God
27:59he's adopted us
28:01we are his family
28:04and he's registered us
28:05we are not somebody
28:06who's here today
28:07and God tomorrow
28:08and just happened
28:09to be on the earth
28:09for a short period
28:10of time
28:10we are eternal people
28:12we are spirit people
28:14when the body dies
28:16the spirit will return
28:17to God who gave it
28:19we are going back
28:20to God
28:20and the purpose
28:21of the church
28:22I believe
28:23the purpose of humanity
28:24the purpose of
28:25every single person
28:26in the world
28:27is to
28:28make right with the Lord
28:30and to live right
28:31with the Lord
28:32because we are going
28:33to answer to the Lord
28:34he is the headmaster
28:35the headmaster
28:36is going to be asking
28:38and answer
28:39and I don't want to
28:40have to repeat
28:41the actions
28:42that I had to do
28:43at high school
28:43when I failed my exams
28:46because then
28:46we had a stick
28:47and it was used
28:49it's not just
28:49oh you naughty boy
28:50you must work harder
28:51so we have a responsibility
28:53to the Lord
28:54and to ourselves
28:55to do as much
28:57as we can
28:58to search our hearts
29:00to have a willing heart
29:01I'm going to close now
29:03but I just want to remind you
29:04of those hymns
29:05that we sang
29:07they are interesting
29:08if you consider them
29:10the first one
29:11that we sang
29:14was 967
29:15years I spent
29:17in vanity and pride
29:18caring not
29:19my Lord is crucified
29:20I think that is
29:22a testimony
29:22that we could all
29:26accept
29:27and acknowledge
29:28the next one
29:29was 770
29:32which
29:33was
29:34will your anchor hold
29:35in the storms of life
29:36a question that we
29:38are asking
29:38a question that we
29:40need to ask ourselves
29:41all the time
29:42anchor is Jesus
29:44anchor is him
29:46and he is immovable
29:48but how strong
29:49is my hold
29:50on him
29:51that's
29:52the problem
29:53you know
29:54the savers
29:55might cut the cords
29:56cut the cables
29:57cut the ship loose
29:58whatever it might be
29:59but I need to hang on
30:00because he is
30:02faithful and just
30:03to forgive me
30:03all my sins
30:04the third one
30:06that we sang
30:06is number
30:08560
30:09praise him
30:10praise him
30:12can we praise him
30:13for what he's doing
30:15you know life
30:16is just a
30:17it's a series of
30:18ongoing steps
30:20forward moving
30:22the past is gone
30:24it's finished
30:24behind us
30:26when I walked in
30:27that's history now
30:30when we walk out
30:31of the door
30:32the evening's meeting
30:33will be finished
30:34it's history
30:35we're going forward
30:36and we need to have
30:38our goal set
30:40before us
30:41am I in God's world
30:44am I in God's world
30:46always
30:46ask him
30:47plead with him
30:48ask his direction
30:50ask his counsel
30:52pray
30:54but just stand
30:55upon the promises
30:56of the Lord
30:57that is what we need
30:58to do
30:59and that is why
31:00we sing these hymns
31:01of gratitude
31:02and praise
31:03and worship
31:04acknowledging that
31:05God is working
31:05in our hearts
31:06and in our lives
31:07he said
31:09of God
31:11your master
31:12proclaim
31:14and publish
31:16abroad
31:17his wonderful name
31:20the name of
31:23victorious
31:24of Jesus
31:26and strong
31:27his kingdom
31:29is glorious
31:31and proves
31:32over all
31:34but rule
31:36and honor
31:37and power
31:38almighty
31:39to sing
31:41and still
31:42he is
31:44thy
31:44his presence
31:46we have
31:48the great
