02:41Hi, I'm Gary Costanza.
02:43It was once said that battle is in the eye of the beholder, and you must become the general
02:46of that battle.
02:47I hope that the techniques that you get from the tape series will help you reach that goal.
02:51Enjoy, and good luck.
03:04In this technique here, Sean's going to continue on this tape with edge weapons.
03:08Sean's going to be coming in with a five-strike.
03:10Again, he knows how many five-strikes you're doing because it's a very common angle because
03:13I believe that if you're not trained, this is what you're going to be seeing a lot of.
03:16We're also going to be dealing with in this tape before we're done the downward chest strike.
03:20We can come up from the underneath, so we'll be dealing with you with some different types
03:24of attacks to kind of go along with these, but we're dealing a lot with the center of
03:27the body because if this is stabbed, you're in much worse shape.
03:31So Sean's going to come in with a five-strike.
03:32Now, what I'm doing with this, there's a lot of subtle things here that we're going to
03:35have to talk about, okay?
03:37One of the subtle things is this.
03:38This arm that's underneath here is gliding him by me, but just enough to misdirect this
03:45into here, joint lock.
03:48If I do this, the wrist breaks.
03:50Now, watch my left arm.
03:52As he comes in, just enough to guide it.
03:55That's all I'm doing so that I can come back.
03:58He knows his elbow is against my sternum.
04:01I break the wrist.
04:04I take him up.
04:05Again, I still have the pain compliance.
04:07I might not have broken his wrist.
04:09I'm under stress.
04:10Maybe my technique was not 100%, but I still have the pain compliance.
04:13If that doesn't work, this will.
04:17Elbow break.
04:18Now, from the elbow break, from here, the hand, the arm that breaks the elbow will insert
04:26what we call a half-bridge throw in Zen Sakai.
04:29We're coming up under the front of the body.
04:35When I come under, I'm going to bend forward and insert my hip halfway behind Sean.
04:41This is a half-bridge.
04:43Full-bridge will be a full-hip in this area.
04:46Now, what I'm going to do with Sean, I'm going to continue the throw, so Sean will land here
04:50with the half-bridge.
04:51In slow motion, it looks like this.
04:54A little bit difficult to do these throws in slow motion without our speed, but for instructional
04:58purposes, we're going to break it down.
05:01Okay, again.
05:04Comes in.
05:05I move it.
05:06I break.
05:08First priority, the knife is done.
05:12I break.
05:14Continue controlling.
05:16I break.
05:19I continue the throw.
05:21Under, around, hip, and throw.
05:29This side.
05:33Technique comes in.
05:35Boom.
05:36See the wrist?
05:37Break.
05:41Pain compliance.
05:44Elbow break.
05:45At any point of the first three, the fight's over.
05:48We're going to continue to complete the move to the half-bridge throw.
05:52Under, and over.
05:56Full power.
06:11Other angle.
06:18This, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this,

07:08Yes.
07:14Other angle.
07:21Yes.
07:22Yes.
07:23Yes.
07:24Yes.

07:26Yes.

08:08Yes.
08:09Yes.
08:22Yes.
08:25Yes.
08:27Yes.
08:28Yes.
08:29Yes.
08:39And this technique here, what
08:40we're going to do, we're going to show you a series, a small
08:42series, of more basic techniques without the throwing involved.
08:46So I'm going to basically go through three techniques, one right after another, continuously
08:51running on through them.
08:52The first one, we mentioned to you before that we've been dealing with a lot of five
08:55strikes, a lot of these.
08:57And I told you that we would come back to going under the groin inside the body, which
09:01is a tough angle.
09:02Now, what I'm going to do here is this.
09:03We did from the top, if you remember before, we did the X block and the body movement.
09:09Now we're doing the same exact principle from the X block.
09:12We're going to be moving, but we're going to be blocking downward because he's coming
09:15this way now.
09:17You see the X block, and I can take them up.
09:21Now, here's the things that are happening here.
09:22If you remember from the 12 strike before, body motion and X block at the same time, same
09:28thing here.
09:29Body motion, notice how I move my right leg and groin and center line is out of the way
09:35for this reason.
09:37Even if I miss with my hands, I'm protected.
09:42Then I can continue with something else at that point.
09:47So what I'm dealing with here, I try to perfect the technique in practice.
09:50How you perfect the technique in practice is over and over and over and over again.
09:56So what we're doing here, one, two, let his hand to the floor, his left hand goes right
10:05to the floor, so he can't take out another weapon.
10:07At this point here, the pain compliance can break a risk.
10:11Now you knew and you have seen the series of joint locking I did previously.
10:14We can do other joint locking.
10:16I'm stopping this short series with just a control technique at this point.
10:20And then you can always kick face, chest, ribs, pull out the leg, and go from there.
10:27You have many options.
10:29We're going to stop it at the joint lock technique.
10:31Come on this side.
10:34You have to remember, when we have deadly force, to emphasize attacking the joints.
10:41Anytime a man comes after you with a weapon, I don't care about any other parts of his body.
10:46All I care about is attacking that appendage that's holding the weapon.
10:50I feel that this is the priority.
10:52This you worry about later.
10:53This is priority one.
10:55So what you're doing here, if you notice, I body shift and I move out of the way.
10:59Now the right arm, left arm lifts, control technique.
11:04But in a full measure of power, that busts the wrist and enables you to go forward from there.
11:11And if you can, again, like I say, until he puts his hand on the ground, you're safer.
11:15So this way, in case he has another weapon.
11:17Many times they have more than one.
11:20Slow motion again from this side.
11:23Move the body.
11:25Take it up.
11:26Take it out.
11:28Just disarm the knife.
11:30Full power on this side.
11:32And again, if you watch the whole body movement now, we're talking body shifting, X-blocking,
11:38joint lock, and as fast as you can do it.
11:44Other side.
11:48And again, if you watch the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking
11:51about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body
11:51movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking
11:53about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body
11:54movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking
11:55about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body
11:56movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking
11:58about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body
12:10movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now, we're talking about the whole body movement now
12:13other side
13:00In this next technique, Sean's going to be doing a downward
13:04type of motion.
13:05He's going to be coming toward the head or chest area.
13:10Now this is a more common strike, and it's probably a
13:13head strike that you're going to be seeing with the person not
13:14being trained.
13:15What this is, there's a number of things you can do.
13:18Later on, we're going to be getting the long knife back out
13:19again, and we're going to be doing pass blocking from this
13:21type of motion.
13:22He comes down again, no, with a head strike.
13:24Comes down again, passing it.
13:27This we're going to show you in a few more techniques up our
13:30tape series.
13:31So for here, I'm doing the X block again.
13:35It's such a beautiful, common, practical block to do,
13:38especially against weaponry.
13:40Now you have your options, remember, on the X block.
13:42You can go this way, or you can go this way.
13:47Again, you can go this way, or you can go this way.
13:54Now from here, we have a lot of techniques with knives we call
13:58return descenders, because I'm going to return this back to him.
14:02He's going to come down.
14:03I'm going to X block it.
14:04Now it's not required, now you've got to remember now, the beauty
14:07of this is the, a lot of the Chinese systems use this.
14:11That's why they're so beautiful to know, is the power of the circles.
14:13I'm going to continue his power away from me into him.
14:17Makes it very practical for me.
14:19If you have to, I can drive the knee in to put the knife in
14:21further.
14:22Or I can sweep.
14:24We're going to stop it as the knife sticks into Sean at this
14:28point, black into the body of your Sean from this way.
14:33Knife comes down, black into the body of your Sean.
14:38One more time on this side, slow motion, boom, X block, guiding it.
14:43This is guiding it.
14:45It's tough for him to react.
14:47It's tough for him to go here and try to pull back.
14:49If he pulls back, remember from our throwing series, when he pulls,
14:55you push.
14:55When you push, you pull.
14:57So what I'm doing here, he's basically pushing, I'm pulling him.
15:01If he pulls out of this, he goes to pull out of it, then I'll throw
15:05him in a direction that he's pulling.
15:07I will push him in that direction.
15:08If you watch it from, from on this side, from the block.
15:11I missed something, he pulls out to stab me, I'll take him back.
15:16So that's a principle that you have to think.
15:18And this technique again, overhead strike.
15:20Boom.
15:22In.
15:24Option.
15:28Strike.
15:30Stab.
15:31Option.
15:32Ignorant.
15:33Full 0.
15:3310,000.
15:34See?
15:37Like.
15:51Like.
15:53Like.
15:57Or not.
15:58That's the reality with my blindfold.
15:58That's the reality.
16:01After popping in the怕, it gets quite early on this attack,
16:02and then I'll take a rec Nueve of Me.
16:02I say it, please.
16:05I say it, please.
16:22I say it, please.
16:34Okay, this is the third part of our three-part series that we're talking about with more
16:38of a basic approach, not a lot of throwing, emphasizing a joint locking, quickly disengaging
16:44the knife, okay?
16:44So this is the third one, not so much of a flashy type of throwing techniques, which
16:49is nothing wrong with them if you can pull them off.
16:50This is for someone basically who doesn't have the ability to throw or does not have
16:54a partner that can fall like Sean.
16:55You have to have the two together in order to pull these things off.
16:58So we're eliminating some of the problems for you to take it home and train with.
17:01Now, our object to this whole thing is for you to be able to buy these tapes and learn
17:04from them and apply them to whatever art you're doing.
17:07Self-defense, knife attacks, and gun disarming will come from any system.
17:14This is going to be, this is not Japanese, this is not Korean, this is self-defense for
17:18your survival.
17:18So apply this to all arts.
17:20He comes in on another 12 strike.
17:22Instead of us feeding it into the body like we did before, we're going to continue this
17:27through and past him.
17:29X-block, around, over the head, joint lock, armbar.
17:38Now you can smash the arm at this point and take care of the elbow quickly, or I can just
17:43drive it to the floor, which I'll do now.
17:44Now, at that point there, you still have a kato, say, shoulder lock.
17:52So I have a nice option.
17:53You can see where his head is at.
17:55Very important to realize.
17:56You always have this as that underlying option that without much force, power, or strength,
18:02this can happen.
18:05From this side, X-block.
18:11Instead of the, into the body, you're stepping through.
18:15Notice again with this.
18:17Coming around.
18:19Like a golf swing.
18:21Picture yourself with a big golf swing at this point.
18:23You're coming through.
18:24Think golf swing.
18:27Step through.
18:28Now I'm going to take the arm this way.
18:30Over the head.
18:32Down into an armbar.
18:36And at that series there, again, you're back to joint locking, finger locking, elbow breaking,
18:41bringing them up and wrist locks.
18:42Those are all optional.
18:43You still have the head against the ground.
18:46Okay, we're going to step this up to full power a little bit.
18:50Yes, yes, yes, yes.
18:51Yes, yes, yes.
19:20Yes, yes, yes.
19:21Where's her?
19:27Where's her?
19:28Yes, yes, yes.
19:29What's her?
19:30Ah!
20:12This technique here we're going to be featuring the Zen Sakai Goshen Jutsu Moon Block.
20:17Okay, now the moon block is designed to slightly parry the move, followed by immediately with
20:24a forearm lift.
20:26So that that block goes into a number of varieties of takedowns or throws.
20:31Now we're going to do, there's options that we do off of our moon block.
20:34What we're going to be doing at this point, we're going to give you probably two.
20:37If we have more tapes available, you know, available to you later, we're going to be expanding
20:40on the moon block options.
20:42Okay, for now we're going to give you two.
20:43We're going to give you brush and hold.
20:46Now watch how this inserts in a more quick motion.
20:48See it?
20:51The first hand, the first parry is very, very, very, very, very important.
20:54See it comes in?
20:56That first parry is very, very important.
20:58Didn't do anything.
20:59So that's why the second half is so important.
21:02Here, that's why this has to take place.
21:05When this takes place here, I immediately go around the head.
21:08Now when I have Sean at this option here, what I'm doing, I've got the juggler.
21:13I've got the juggler on the side of the neck.
21:14I have his brachial plexus origin.
21:16I have a slight, at this point, I have a choke starting already before I go down.
21:19I can either continue a choking motion or I can take a takedown and then continue the
21:24choke when I get him down.
21:25This will be just a fast takedown.
21:27I'm not, this is slow motion still.
21:29Here, moon block, takedown.
21:32At this point, I can go in to my choke against the juggler.
21:38This side.
21:41Comes through.
21:42I moon block.
21:44I start the choke.
21:45I take him down.
21:51One more time, slow motion here.
21:55Again, the block.
21:57This side.
21:58The block.
22:00The block.
22:01The takedown.
22:03Full power.
22:05Yes, yes, yes!
22:07Yes, yes!
22:16Come on!
22:36Come on!
22:37Come on!
22:44Come on!
22:45Use it!
22:47Use it!
22:48Use it!
23:06I'm sorry.
23:08I'm sorry.
23:09I'm sorry.
23:29OK, we're going to continue the moon block at this point here.
23:33The first one I showed you was moon block, takedown.
23:38Now we're going to be doing a similar move, more of an Aikido type of motion, that turning
23:45the body, keeping the flow, continuous going around so he can't react, not a stopping block.
23:51What I'm going to do here, I think it'd be better off if we come on this side first.
23:56He's going to come with the strike, same block, same intro.
24:01Now instead of going to the outside of the neck against the vein, I'm going to come inside
24:05and come down on Shawn's arm on the bicep area while I'm turning.
24:10So I complete a whole circle in one motion.
24:14Very important that you understand the principle that now I'm going to stand up, I'm staying
24:19upright, I can walk out of this.
24:21He comes in the stab, I come here.
24:24I continue the motion.
24:26And I can be able to walk out of this thing, especially if it's a multiple attack.
24:31If it's a multiple attack and there's a guy over on this side behind me and one is in
24:36front of me.
24:37If he comes this way, again, the important part of putting me between him and another
24:42opponent.
24:43I throw him.
24:44He's got to step over him.
24:45He's got to get to me.
24:46I can either go back into fighting stance or I can run out of there.
24:48There's no dishonor in running.
24:54I'll try slow motion this side.
24:57Shawn comes in with a strike, moon block.
25:01Continue my motion of the circle, strongly coming down with the right arm and maintaining
25:05the circling motion.
25:08And I can walk out of this.
25:09Oh, come on.
25:11Full power?
25:12Hey.
25:15To the police is.
25:21Please.
25:24To the police is.
25:25Sir.
25:59Sir.
26:01Sir.
26:02Sir.
26:02Why?
26:02Sir.
26:03Sir.
26:04Sir.
26:18Sir.
26:18I don't know.
26:52In this technique, we have another five strike.
26:54Sean is going to be coming in with a five strike to the middle of my body.
26:56Now, what I'm doing here, I'm going to body shift again, which is always the same theme.
27:01Body shift, body shift, and body shift again.
27:03He's going to come in.
27:04I'm going to block this away, and I'm going to back knuckle the radial nerve that we talked
27:09about before, which causes a pain compliance or a direct relationship to him holding this
27:13weapon.
27:13So slowly, slowly, this side, slowly, again, slowly, key move, hitting that radial nerve.
27:35Okay, a little bit quicker, okay, this side, just a little bit quicker.
27:44Now, at that point, your options are endless, but we're going to continue with the technique
27:48the way it's done here.
27:49We get the knife again.
27:52Now you notice a lot of times we don't do a lot of punching in the system.
27:55We don't really do a lot of kicking, even though there's traditional systems that this is pulled
27:58from.
27:59Basically, the Zen Sakai is coming from Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, modernese, Kung Fu, Kendo, Karate.
28:04What we're doing here, we're going to use some simple basic kicks, because when you're against
28:07a weapon, stay basic.
28:10Stay basic, basic, basic.
28:12It's like two Judo people instead of a tournament.
28:14You notice you don't see a lot of throws, because the person who's better at their basic wins,
28:17because the other person now is deadly as well.
28:19So what we're doing here, basic technique, very basic.
28:25Rear leg kick.
28:28Take the knee to the floor, smashing it to the floor.
28:32Coming behind, I'm pushing, actually pushing Sean into my elbow strike.
28:36So if you watch this, I'm going to, radial nerve, I'm going to kick, I'm going to cave
28:42him in, and then I'm going to strike him to the sternum.
28:47You watch this on this side.
28:50Back knuckle, kick, kick, sternum.
28:56It's very important that you have to understand at this point, I didn't have to take his knee
29:01all the way to the floor.
29:02If I do this alone, that alone is fine to enable me to row into the next move.
29:09I don't have to necessarily take his knee right to the floor with that kick.
29:13Okay, full power.
29:20Second one.
29:24We'll be at lists.
29:27Oh!
29:28Hold it!
29:29Yeah three!
29:55There we go.
29:59There we go.
30:00Yeah.
30:03Second one.
30:08What is that?
30:11Yeah.
30:12Yeah.
30:13Yeah.
30:14Yeah.
30:14Yeah.
30:16Yeah.
30:17Yeah.
30:20Yeah.
30:23Yeah.
30:27Yeah.
30:28Yeah.
30:42Yeah.
30:43Yeah.
30:47Second one.
31:30Second one.
31:36What is that?
31:51In this technique here, Sean's going to be coming over the top of the head.
31:55I'm going to pass this block, or I'm going to pass the knife away now.
31:59The difference between this block and what we've been doing, number one, again, the length
32:03of the blade.
32:03Okay?
32:04Now I don't have a short blade.
32:05I have a long knife.
32:06The ability to pass this without getting stabbed is harder to do than if it was a smaller
32:11blade.
32:11So I'm going to pass this knife by, continue the arc.
32:16From this side, pass the knife by and continue the arc.
32:22Again, pass it by, continue the arc.
32:26Okay, back to this point.
32:29From here, continue into elbow break.
32:37The elbow break will take care of the knife.
32:39He comes through.
32:40I pass.
32:42I pass.
32:42Break the elbow.
32:44From here, I'm going to elbow strike and a knee smash.
32:49Or I can go with the knee smash first and an elbow strike.
32:54The sequence does not matter as long as you loosen him up for your next technique.
32:59So you can go elbow first or knee first.
33:02Come again.
33:04Sit here.
33:05The knife attack.
33:06Sweep.
33:08Elbow break.
33:12Knee smash.
33:13Face.
33:16Elbow.
33:18Grab the head and the lapel at the same time.
33:22Right here, I get a good, strong grip on this.
33:25The choke is already starting at this point on Sean's neck.
33:29I'm going to roll him over.
33:33I start the choke at this point.
33:36And now with my body, I'm going to turn and finish the choke off.
33:47Full power.
33:47Go back.
33:50Go back.
34:02Go back.
34:06Wait.
34:08Go back.
34:09Go back.
34:10Again, let's go there.
34:12Come back.
38:16Other side.
38:18Other side.
38:45Other side.
38:48Other side.
39:04Other side.
39:04This technique here, Sean's going to be sweeping across the body.
39:08I'm going to pass block again.
39:10Now what we did here, and one of the techniques we did a while ago, we came down with a
39:13straight
39:13stab from the hitchcock, please.
39:15We came here.
39:16I passed it.
39:18Now I'm going to pass it again.
39:19From here, this side.
39:21Notice I must clear the 14 inches of this blade.
39:24So I'm coming here.
39:26I pass.
39:29Break the elbow.
39:32Turn with pain compliance on the wrist.
39:35At this point, there's pain compliance, and I throw.
39:40When we do this full power, it will be a little bit higher.
39:43From this side, pass, break, pain compliance, throw.
39:57Full power.
40:09Full power.
40:13Yes.
40:14Yes.
40:14Yes.
40:16Yes.
40:41Yes.
40:42Yes.
40:43Yes.
40:43Yes.
40:44Yes.
40:44Yes.
40:48Full power.
41:36Full power.
41:38Full power.
42:25Full power.
42:43This technique here, Sean's going to be coming with a downward type of a slanted motion, not necessarily over the
42:48top.
42:49A little bit more into the side.
42:51I'm going to move.
42:52Whole body movement.
42:56Again, whole body movement.
42:58What I'm going to do here, I'm going to insert the right arm underneath his right arm.
43:04Continue the body movement.
43:06And what I'm going to do, we're going to do a makakomi, a winding motion.
43:10Comes in, and I wind.
43:13Now when I do the winding, it never stops.
43:15Comes in, I take it through, and over.
43:21Other side.
43:23Now from this side, you won't be able to see as much of the hand motion, but watch my body
43:27as I turn my back to you.
43:29Here, my back turns, I wind.
43:35Now what I'm going to do here, I want Sean to be able to go off the hip.
43:41If you see here, I come in close.
43:42I pull.
43:44He goes off the hip.
43:46This side.
43:48Notice the right hip.
43:50He'll come forward.
43:51I pull off the right hip.
43:55Full motion.
43:56Full speed.
43:59Face.
44:05Face.
44:30Face.
44:37Face.
44:38Face.
44:39Face.
44:39Face.
44:40Face.
44:41Face.
44:42Face.
44:43Face.
44:44Face.
44:51I don't know.
45:31I don't know.
45:39I don't know.
45:39Ace.
45:40Ace.
45:50Okay, and our last technique on this tape, we're going to be coming with a strike downward
45:54with a knife.
45:55What I'm going to be doing here on the right hand is going to go with the same angle we've
45:58been talking about.
45:59I think the last one we did was a slicing across the body, not so much down straight.
46:04So what I'm going to do here, I'm going to block forearm on forearm.
46:08What I'm going to do with my right hand is basically do a tiger mouth strike to the throat.
46:12Now this can do a couple things to him.
46:14I can always feed up into the mastoids, which can be done.
46:21I could also be striking into the larynx, and that would actually be a strike.
46:25And how you feed into that, you would hit the chest and actually slide into the throat area.
46:33What I'm doing now, I'm going to do this all in one motion with the block and the tiger mouth
46:37here.
46:39From here, knife would go on this point.
46:43We're going to talk again about the brachoplexist tie-in nerve.
46:47I'm going to elbow that nerve.
46:48I'm going to go elbow strike.
46:54Elbow strike to the median nerve.
46:57Elbow strike to the brachoplexist origin nerve.
46:59So I'm hitting two nerves, possibly three with the median nerve.
47:02So if you see on this side, I'm going to be hitting median nerve, brachoplexist tie-in, brachoplexist origin.
47:10Again with the knife.
47:13One nerve.
47:16Two nerve.
47:18Two nerve.
47:19Three nerve.
47:21Three nerve.
47:22Knee smash.
47:24Grab.
47:25I'm going to go up, and I'm going to pile drive Sean's head to the floor.
47:29Up.
47:31Pile drive the head to the floor.
47:34Other side.
47:36One.
47:37Two.
47:40One.
47:41And three.
47:41Two.
47:43Three.
47:45Four.
47:50Full power?
47:55Orl.
47:56Orl.
47:57Orl.
48:06Orl.
48:07Oh, dear!
48:08I am sorry!
48:37Ah!

50:29hope you enjoyed this tape and you'll continue with the rest of the series.
50:32Remember it's always too soon to quit.
50:34I wanna give special thanks to my assistant Shawn Curran,
50:36and especially Panther Productions for the opportunity of being on with their company. Thank you.
50:42What attracted me most of the martial arts is probably the physical attraction of staying in shape.
50:48I always wanted to be into the health type of curriculum.
50:51And then after I was in it of course then I learned the whole scope of the program.
50:55What makes a good student to me is someone who has that drive, the will, to get knocked
51:01down seven times and get up eight and that they have to go after their highest potentials
51:06and reach it.
51:08Good instructor is somebody that I think draws out of the student the student's potential
51:12to excel.
51:13The training series on Panther Productions have given me an opportunity to take my style
51:18to the public so they can take some basic self-defense techniques as well as advance
51:22and incorporate it into martial arts systems.
51:25The Zen Sakai Goshen Jutsu system was basically formed when a police officer student of mine
51:30asked us to do a defensive tactics seminar for his police department.
51:33Upon doing that, it took root in that we noticed that men who were looking for in close range
51:40type of situations, basically dealing with the weapons of the 90s, guns, knives, clubs,
51:45baseball bats, direct attacks, someone high on drugs, and the ability to incapacitate someone
51:51was really the conditioning of the program was for that reason.
51:56I see the future of the martial arts more than ever going back to basic self-defense so
52:02that people now, with the crime rate the way it is, right now crime is the number one thing
52:06on anybody's mind.
52:07And there's a crime every two seconds in the United States and I believe that now people,
52:12that is their priority.
52:13So now they're interested still in the Zen, they're interested still in the Doe, the way,
52:17but they still want to stay traditional, which is great.
52:21But the bottom line now more than ever, with sexual assaults against women and children
52:24in the United States, I think now it's, they must have the ability to defend themselves.
52:29My future goals is just to continue learning and being a teacher as well as a student.
52:35The person most responsible for the creation of my system was the person who encouraged me
52:39at the beginning when I was putting it together.
52:41Sometimes I questioned whether I was good enough to do it or whether I had enough technique
52:45to do it, his name is Jerry Pasillo and Jerry is a very humble man who probably wouldn't
52:49want me to mention him, but I give credit to where it's due and I give thanks and that's
52:52the man.
52:54My involvement with law enforcement started about 1987.
52:57We started teaching defensive tactics to police officers.
53:00It got to the point where it was not only enjoyable, but a great need for it.
53:05They have a couple of weeks in the academy, they never reviewed again and chances are for
53:09a police officer to needing this on an everyday thing, especially with liability suits, it became
53:13critical and paramount that they knew how to do this in a structure that we're doing it
53:16now in Zen and my Zen Sakai system.
53:20One of the precepts of Ishma Karate was just one of my traditional systems that we're trained
53:23in.
53:24Unbalance is the same as weight and I believe that you have to have that balance between
53:28your family and your career.
53:29And I believe that the balance that I've done with the physical end of my system is doing
53:32well, but without the love for my wife and my children, I know I could not have gotten
53:36to where I have now.
53:38My closing words for anybody, whether it's martial arts or whether it's life, your marriage,
53:43your job, it's always too soon to quit.
53:55Like that, what I do is to take the same place for the company to keep the same place,
53:58When I talk to you, when I talk to you, when I talk to you about my career, I get
53:59it.
53:59I think you need to get a little bit more to have a chance to keep the same career.
54:00But I play the same for the next step.
54:01When I talk to you about the team, I'm going to be able to accomplish my career.
54:10I think it's a very difficult task."
54:10But, we want to make sure that you have to take a long time on the journey.
