00:00How does this get used by other schools?
00:06Meaning, do you believe the NCAA will say this is okay,
00:10that they will be okay with having an outside partner,
00:13not the school itself, but an outside party
00:16being the one that puts the money down to hedge
00:20as to what LSU may owe Lane Kiffin?
00:23Yeah, I'm not totally sure.
00:26And I think a lot of programs have these type of insurance policies right now.
00:31I should mention there were also some trades involving South Carolina.
00:35I don't know as much of the details on those,
00:38but there were similar trades that seemed to be
00:42from a similar circumstance with South Carolina.
00:47So these insurance policies are very normal,
00:50but adding Calci trades into the mix has so far not been normal,
00:56maybe will become normal.
00:58But yeah, the NCAA absolutely does not like prediction markets
01:05on its events at the moment.
01:08I don't know whether they will feel like if there's this step in the middle
01:14that it's, if it is less within their control,
01:17but it definitely feels like something that based on their track record,
01:23they would want to limit to some degree.
01:28I'll be very curious if the NCAA or anybody else steps in and says,
01:34okay, schools can do this.
01:35Cause you mentioned like the insurance policy, right?
01:37Schools can take out insurance policies for players.
01:40Players can take insurance policies out for themselves for injury and whatever,
01:45whatever they want to insure themselves, you know,
01:47if that they were going to drop in the draft for whatever reason.
01:50But I think the question that gets raised,
01:53is it who is allowed to do it on behalf of the school?
01:57Because that's where I think it gets a little bit screwy.
02:00I think that's where people get kind of like, wait a minute, what that is,
02:03is that potentially going to be looked at?
02:06Or is this just us, the wild, wild West, you can't prevent this.
02:10Yeah, I am not totally sure at this point,
02:16the degree to which this can or can't be prevented.
02:22I think there will definitely be some looking at this,
02:26but I really don't know what will come out of this.
02:31It does sort of fall right between like, oh, there's elements of this.
02:35You can see it as, you know, this is a very normal thing to do
02:39and elements of it.
02:40You can see it as, oh, this is a very strange thing to do.
02:45And I don't know which will win out.
02:48Let me move on.
02:48We're going to move on a little bit.
02:48We've got to go on a little bit.
02:48And I'm going to go on any of these other things.
