00:00So I was looking at this article about all the best quarterbacks in college football and it literally said that Klubnik was the man at Clemson and that he was the best quarterback in the country.
00:14They rated him number one, then Drew Aller at Penn State, Arch Manning three, Nussmeier four. We actually saw a Nussmeier leading in the Heisman voting, Heisman odds from the sports books.
00:30And I almost fell over laughing. Then Levitt, then Mateer at Oklahoma, whoever the hell that is, DJ Lagway, who I've seen play at Florida, Sellers at South Carolina, Beckett, Miami, and then Kevin Jennings at SMU were the top 10.
00:49I could go on and on, but what do you think of some of those names I threw at you and who do you like?
00:54Well, I mean, those are some impressive list of quarterbacks. I mean, you look at some of those guys, you know, who's at the top? I'm not really sure.
01:03I think you got some guys who could make a really good case for that. I mean, Arch Manning is going to face a tremendous amount of pressure this year.
01:09Again, this is his opportunity to shine at Texas. Can he take up that mantle? Can he really showcase why everyone's been talking about him so much?
01:17Nussmeier is an interesting name to put up there at the top. I mean, he's had at LSU, you know, he's kind of kind of an up and down type of career.
01:25You know, it's not like a guy who I would necessarily put as a Heisman favorite going forward.
01:30DJ Lagway, I've seen him a lot here in the state of Florida. I think if he's healthy and I think if Billy Napier could find a way to maybe get that offense moving,
01:39he's got an opportunity to really put together a successful season. And then Sellers at South Carolina, I've seen it well.
01:45I think he's a guy that's got tremendous upside as a young guy. So I think, to me, honestly, there are some really good quarterbacks out there.
01:52It's just going to be who takes that next step. I think the big thing for that position is, you know, you've got to be able to step up and own it.
01:59You've seen the quarterbacks that have won the Heisman last couple of years.
02:02You understand that, you know, it's a position that really, you know, if you take charge of it, you have an opportunity to really make it your own.
02:08So how do you think the kid Mendoza will do that left Cal for Indiana? And how do you think Cignetti will do after winning 11 games and everybody said it was just luck?
02:20Yeah, you know, I think Mendoza will be a solid pickup for them. I thought when they got him, that was a good move for them.
02:25Because I think here's a guy who's got experience. He played at Cal. He understands kind of a little bit of what they're trying to do.
02:30Cignetti, obviously, has did a great job last year. You know, they're probably overperformed a little bit last year.
02:37But this year, I think they've got a chance to be right there as well. But again, you're playing in the Big Ten.
02:41The Big Ten is such a competitive league. Last year's schedule wasn't nearly as difficult.
02:46I think going into this year, again, much like with Arizona State, you're not going to come up and surprise anyone now.
02:52People are going to expect a little bit more from you. So they're going to try to find a way to knock you down.
