00:40gosh how convenient yeah i mean we've been out there the last couple days but um it does feel
00:49like the timing worked out for the browns yes yes you know if you're trying to figure out how to
00:54get
00:54four quarterbacks on your roster that's one way to do it um you know and then you figure the top
01:01two guys will again knock on wood stay healthy through the first four games that gabriel has to
01:06miss because that's a danger of going with the risk of going with taylor green over dylan gabriel
01:11here's your number three is if something happens with deshaun watson and shader sanders or
01:17say watson gets benched and then shader's a guy um if gabriel we saw the other night and we saw
01:24last
01:24year he can step in and run the offense right i i still believe there's limitations of what he can
01:29do
01:29but he can step in and run it and give you a chance to win where taylor green he's a
01:33rookie is kind of a
01:35developmental guy um i don't think the browns want him pressed into service and you know i don't know
01:40early in the season for sure so you know that's why you would go with dylan gabriel um and you
01:47hope
01:47that the first four weeks when he's on injured reserve it doesn't come to that scott would you rank
01:53these quarterbacks in order of intrigue who's the most intriguing guy shader talen dylan deshaun
02:02or would you have a different order on that i would probably go shader talen deshaun and dylan
02:11okay um you know i get why you would go dylan ahead of deshaun i just think he's still
02:17more physically talented than dylan gabriel and maybe gabriel turns out to if he gets another chance
02:23as a starter um really settles in and you know we know that he operates well and he processes well
02:30and all those things um there's a level of accuracy to his throws it's just can he make
02:35the off-schedule throws can he push the ball down the field um can he see with a bunch of
02:40big bodies
02:40around right i still have those questions after watching him start six games last year where the
02:45intrigue with watson is can he get back to being close to the player that he once was can he
02:50still
02:50run and be a threat running the ball because i think in order for this todd munkin plan to have
02:56any
02:56chance of working watson really needs to be a threat running the ball and we haven't seen that
03:00in a while and he's got to stay healthy if he does that he's got to be willing to do
03:03that um but i
03:04think there's intrigue there where um i think i know who dylan gabriel is and i guess i could be
03:10wrong
03:10about that but i think i know scott last year at this time the browns walked out of camp with
03:16four
03:16quarterbacks and then this week turned around and traded kenny pickett do you believe that is on the
03:21table for this current group of quarterbacks i don't uh i think it's hard to trade a guy on ir
03:27and that would be the guy that i think would be traded would be dylan gabriel right they don't want
03:32i think they want to trade tim and green i don't know and i don't know if there's a market
03:35for any
03:36of these four guys i really don't in that that's where it's just conversation should start but if
03:40there were a market um i think gabriel would be the fit for that but i think that would have
03:47happened yesterday as opposed to in the next week scout with the offensive line keeping 10 guys
03:55um do you think austin barber is the guy that might end up being the starter at right guard with
04:03um with tevin jenkins not starting he came on really really strong and you're hearing he's our
04:10number one backup tackle in our number one backup guard good for him but i wonder how it plays out
04:16this
04:16year yeah i could see at some point this year jeff that he winds up starting i think week one
04:23it'll
04:23be the it'll be tevin jenkins um they've been working together a long time or you know that
04:29that group of five has started to work together over the last couple weeks i think they want to build
04:34on
04:34that um continuity and not you know disrupt it with a rookie who is still inexperienced at right
04:40guard i mean he's only been fighting right guard for two weeks so i i think they want to keep
04:45it status quo um that doesn't mean that barber can't move in that lineup at some point i do think
04:51he adds a lot more you know the versatility that he brings now is a really it's a real strength
04:57for
04:57this roster you know when he got to camp he was just a tackle he'd always been a tackle now
05:02i think
05:03you go into the season going okay he can be the number one backup guard and maybe he's the number
05:07one tackle i mean he's still juan jones but he could certainly play tackle for you um that's not a
05:12question and it does give you flexibility when you have the shorter roster on game day
05:17so you know i know they've been impressed with him the last couple weeks and maybe this climb
05:21continues um in the next two weeks of practice in this week of practice and then they make a
05:26decision heading into that you know next week the week of practice before jacksonville
05:30um but i think they'll they'll stick with jenkins scott patrick joining us on the wise heart right we
05:35make it right call kyle wright hotline uh kt leveston found himself uh looking for employment
05:42after this run in browns camp what a what do you think zach zinter did to win that job and
05:48make it
05:49that the browns were moving on from a swing tackle in case kt leveston i'm not sure that i'm not
05:55sure
05:55that zinter did anything to win that job um i think they you know he's a third on draft pick
06:00those guys are a lot harder to give up than somebody that hasn't been with you that long
06:05they gave leveston a chance you know he started camp at tackle and they're like oh we want him
06:10in guard and then they they said it was moving too fast at guard and moving back to tackle
06:14and he's not size wise isn't your prototypical attack prototypical tackle so i think they just
06:20decided he can't play guard he's not good enough at tackle we're done with kt leveston um
06:26and zinter you know i i wasn't sure he'd make this team and you know there's still going to be
06:33you talked about the waiver wire claims there's still going to be movement at the bottom of this
06:38roster and is he vulnerable i think he might be i think they might be trying to solidify the bottom
06:44of those 10 offensive linemen you know parker bralesford is on the roster but he didn't practice
06:50almost all the camp he's got a like a cast on his right wrist or his right hand um and
06:55he's right
06:55handed so he's learning to snap left handed um hasn't played in the preseason so i expect him
07:00to be inactive you know on game day to start the year um so i feel like they're a little
07:06thin there
07:06and if they can find an upgrade at guard for zach's enter i think they would do that um but
07:13you know
07:13how it works in this league if you're a third-round pick you tend to stick around for a while
07:17if he has
07:18a cast on his arm i would think bralesford is a candidate to go on il well i thought that
07:24move
07:24was coming yesterday jeff and it didn't so now you're only allowed to put a couple guys on
07:29um at the beginning of the year and you know you know there's a limit on how you how many
07:33guys can
07:33do throughout the year yeah so you know i don't know if you know they just didn't want to lose

07:40and they think that eventually he'll be okay and be able to play i mean he's out there practicing
07:44again but it's a transition right you're right-handed guy and it's cast on your hand so it's i think

07:50going to be difficult for him he never got the reps in camp that they wanted to see for an

07:54you know fit drawn pick going against bigger guys they just didn't see that so i think it'd be a

08:00projection to say yeah he could be ready to play um you know see a guy that maybe they put

08:06coming up maybe i could see that or maybe now you try to sneak him to the practice squad you

08:11through waivers to the practice squad um once everybody's rosters kind of settle um but i just feel
08:18like there's movement to be had on that offensive line they need a tight end don't they scott
08:24yeah i mean you could go up and down the roster and we could talk we just talked to a
08:29line
08:29tight end and corner are the two other spots that jump out at you um you know they have three
08:35tight
08:35ends they kept the fullback mike burton but you know it's harold fannin jr and it's blake
08:40whitehart carson ryan was you know these are whatever seventh round rookie um had an uneven
08:46training camp i don't know how much you can count on him right away i would expect a tight end
08:51to be
08:51added in the same corner i mean they only kept five corners which they usually keep more than that
08:56but i just don't think they had quality candidates and then one of them is michael coast jr who's an
09:02undrafted rookie turned his ankle in practice last week i don't know if he's gonna be ready to go
09:07week one i just feel offensive line tight end and corner are where i expect to see some movement
09:16whether it's roster claims or whatever because i just think those bottom of those positions

09:29anytime you bring up emmanuel mcneil warren you kind of get this answer from the coaching staff
09:35that's like oh we know what we're doing with him but no way in hell i'm telling you
09:41is do you have any idea what the expectations are for him this season or where he's going to play

09:47are we all just in the dark well i think it's going to be the third safety in the three
09:52safety package
09:53and they're going to use that a lot um you know they also have the nickel with miles harden you
09:59know
09:59sometimes they'll go to dime where they have the three corners and the three safeties
10:02i don't think he's bumping at least the start of the season ronnie hickman out of that starting job
10:08at free safety um i think he's more comfortable in the deep middle than at the line of scrimmage this
10:15is i think where he played at toledo and he's a big rangy guy that feels like you know he's
10:20kind
10:20of a ball hawk so you want him right you know running around roaming around the middle of that field
10:25um but they've had him in the deep middle they've had him toward the line of scrimmage is that
10:29third safety so i i think that's the spot you'll see him in and you know does that mean he
10:36can blitz
10:36off the edge sure does it mean he can run with somebody and cover sure he's an he's certainly
10:41an enticing talent um but i think that's where his role is to open the season you expect some real
10:49churning later on this afternoon you know jeff i i usually do and then you know oftentimes to go
10:57they didn't really do anything i just like we talked about i i just don't know how you go in
11:03to week one with only four healthy corners if coach isn't ready and you go in with three tight ends
11:10when
11:11one of them is a seven-time rookie right like i just it feels like there has to be upgrades
11:17at those
11:17two spots now it has to work right like you have to get the guys you claim and the guys
11:22you want have
11:22to go through the waiver all those things so it's not as simple as andrew berry saying yes i want
11:28this
11:28guy this guy this guy um but i would be surprised if there aren't two or three moves you know
11:34by this
11:34afternoon burton seems like an odd fit on this roster to me scott at fullback you know i went back
11:42and
11:42forth you know you do these roster projections and you sit there you know in the downtime the training
11:48cam just thinking about who's on this team and here's a weird one because he didn't practice for
11:52a lot of camp with an injury he's by himself right i mean carson ryan did some of that but
11:56he's not a
11:57fullback you know by trade um and i don't know how important it was to todd munkin to keep him
12:03right but then when you talk to todd it was saturday and he was talking about using 11 personnel at
12:0912
12:09and then he mentioned 21 and i'm well if they're running 21 personnel it's going to be mike burter right
12:14so like that kind of stunk in my head like okay he's on this roster um you know we saw
12:20him have
12:20ricard in baltimore and he and he got a lot of use out of him so i think it's just
12:25really important
12:26to munkin to have that fullback on his team i look at the defensive line real quick i and i
12:35i get
12:37i get weepy when i think about mason graham and michael jr and what they might be able to bring
12:42to this
12:43team especially mason graham how good of his of a camp did he have scott yeah he was really good
12:49and it started right away you know he had a little um injury in minicamp didn't practice in minicamp
12:54and then showed up in training camp and was good right away and you hear guys talk about him whether
12:59it's malik collins or jocks is there the d-line coach and even i sat down with my or mason
13:04by myself
13:05and just the expectation for your year two and it's play much better it's lead this team it's
13:12you know try not to get caught up in production but the production wasn't what he wanted last year
13:18even though i thought he played well half sack is going to cut it he knows that he expects to
13:23be
13:23able to finish more this season so you know collins looks like he's going to be healthy you get those
13:28two guys in the middle you can do some stuff um with those two guys and they're going to have
13:33to
13:33because the edge isn't as strong right obviously miles garrison isn't here anymore um alice wright
13:39goes down right so they're going to have to be really strong in the interior and that falls on
13:44graham collins and hall or you know your top three guys always a pleasure sir thank you scott and uh
