03:29And the one that you just mentioned is Nick Bosa and the fact that he still is not really ready
03:34to go and be out there.
03:35That's the one that kind of troubles me because it's now three ACLs, one on the one knee and now

03:42And, you know, we've talked to Doc Pandia and, you know, we've heard all the research and all the experts.
03:47And it seems like that second time that you come back, it's a lot harder.
03:51And so for me, I think Kittle week two, whatever, week one, week two, fine.
03:56McCaffrey, it's always been a nothing burger.
03:58Apologies to John Lynch, which I don't know if this latest thing is a nothing burger, but I think the

04:04But the Nick Bosa one for me, that's the one that has my eyebrows up.
04:08I'm with dibs on the Bosa one being the one that's a little bit mysterious at this moment, for sure.
04:15At least the unknown. But I've said this on our show a few times the last week and a half.
04:20Dibs knows this. I believe that the entire narrative around the 49ers and injuries right now is just bleed over
04:26from the last few years.
04:28They are PTSD. They are no more hurt.
04:30In fact, less hurt than most other NFL teams out there right now.
04:35Sure, they lost pure salt. So there's one.
04:37And outside of that, it's somewhere between nothing serious versus Kittle and Bosa, which we already knew they were coming
04:45back from injury.
04:46Williams will be back sometime.
04:46And the McCaffrey one, I really like the idea of hopefully everyone takes this as kind of, you know, I
04:54don't want to call it a lesson learned.
04:56But we went from he's suffering from tightness slash this is a contract hold in to come to find out
05:05that actually this was the plan from the jump and literally absolutely nothing bad happened whatsoever.
05:13But the Internet has been like it's powerful when it's the Niners and an aging player.
05:19We're just running with it right now. He's hurt, but they'll never not hurt.
05:22They'll never get me like they got me at the summit last year when that news broke.
05:27So people were doing that with the tightness. Yeah, we'll never bit.
05:30Well, you just walked me through when you woke up this morning and saw York in the orange jumpsuit.

05:55And so we do our thing. And then I try not to be too much in the phone because we're

06:00And now she has to be at school. And so I take her to school and drop her off and
06:04found her water bottle.
06:05And it was great news. And so I get back to the car and I look at my phone and
06:07there are 16 messages from the thread.
06:09And I was like, what? And I look and it's just like this and that and this and that.
06:15And I was like, it can't be. You can't be. I thought somebody got duped.
06:20And so I look and it's like, that looks real. And then you look at the story.
06:24It's like, that looks real. And then you go to TMZ.
06:27And I mean, TMZ is not undefeated, but they're kind of like the 27 Yankees.
06:32And then you turn on 95.7, the game and Sal Castaneda is on.
06:35Well, there you go. That's when you know we got action.

06:39Then we start to learn about, and I can't remember the phrase, which is like something that he was like
06:44the second charge.
06:45Like his phone became.
06:47It was a tool. It was a criminal tool.
06:50And like a criminal tool, that's kind of what he is right now.
06:53Well, when I read criminal tool, I didn't know that.
06:56And I'm thinking like, are we talking about the game Clue?

08:36It's when people bring up Jed York, this is going to be a part of his story.
08:41Now it's, you know, people were talking about his uncle, the Bartolo and how the, I think
08:48the felony charge that he didn't report ended up coming back to bite him back in 98.
08:51And that may or may not have led to him eventually ceding control of the team to now Jed's mother,
08:56Denise.
08:57And it's like, people were saying, well, you know, we don't talk about that with Eddie.
09:01And it's like, well, you just did actually, because it was something that happened that
09:06led to eventually him not being controlling owner of the team.
09:10It gets swept under the five Super Bowls, which Jed does not have, but it is absolutely
09:16a part of his legacy.
09:17And so it might not be the first or second or even third thing that you bring up by the
09:21end of Jed, Jed York's time as owner of the 49ers, but people will remember East Palestine,
09:28Ohio, and it's not going to be for a good reason.
09:30Right.
09:30And I don't think that this leads to him ceding control unless there's more to it that, you
09:35know, eventually comes out, whether or not this was a, a one-off or if, you know, there's
09:40other things that actually happen.
09:42If there's more to it than just this, like just, this is embarrassing.
09:47It's beyond embarrassing.
09:49And it's a thing that I think that he can probably survive, but beyond that, if there's
09:54more to it and I can't help, but think about the Tiger Woods situation where, you know,
09:59we get a report that Tiger Woods wife has, you know, hit his car with a nine iron after
10:05he crashed.
10:05And then from there, what unraveled was a long series of, you know, different events and
10:11different episodes of him stepping outside.
10:14I'm not saying that this is that, but that I don't think that we knew in the moment when,
10:19you know, Tiger Woods has crashed into a tree and his wife apparently tried to rescue him
10:24with a nine iron.
10:25Well, in that moment, we didn't know exactly what the whole thing was.

10:29And, but in that moment, there's like, this is already an open and shut case.
10:33Like, charges filed.
10:36No contest.
10:37No contest.
10:37Kraft didn't do that.
10:39He fought it to the end.
10:39Fine.
10:41Jail.
10:42Get on a plane and come home.
10:43Like, so I don't think.
10:44Well, the case is open and shut, but the details that surround it, I don't know if they are open
10:49and shut.
10:50I mean, I guess, like usually if you're already going to do the court appearance and these
10:54are the charges we're going to file, I'd be mildly surprised if there's anything that
10:58comes out further than this, but I don't know that this alone doesn't bring new things
11:05into question going forward.
11:07It's really up.
11:08It's going to be up to him.
11:09It's going to be up to the operations of the organization.
11:13I do think that this makes the function of his job difficult because when you're the
11:19owner, the only thing you really are is a figurehead in the face.
11:23And I don't know if you can be a figurehead in a face when your face has this tattoo on
11:28it.

11:36And to your point, Willard, for me, I don't really feel like I know who Jed York is.
11:43I mean, he's always been out of sight and out of mind.
11:45He's had some statements that have kind of come back to bite him and, you know, the kind
11:51of separation with Harbaugh was a big part of that and Tom Sewell and Chip Kelly and
11:55really until Kyle Shanahan, it felt like his stock was down.
11:59But even through all this, I don't really have an idea of what kind of person Jed York is.
12:05And so that's why I think this might stick a little more.
12:07It's because there's just not many points that you can look at and say, I feel like I
12:12know that he's he means he's a good guy or he is has the you know, the interest of the
12:1949ers front and center.
12:20He's always just been a dude that it feels like kind of sign checks and gets out of the
12:24way for the most part.
12:26And I think that he had to get to that point where, you know, he was more front facing
12:30and it didn't seem like things were going his way in the public eye.
12:33And so he stepped back.
12:34And yeah, he's been a guy who has represented the ownership.
12:37And I know he has more ownership now than he did before, but it was always to me in
12:42my impression, it was John and Denise's team.
12:46It was Denise's team, Eddie's sister, and then John by proxy.
12:49And then Jed, go ahead, Jed.
12:51We're going to give you control.
12:52We'll give you a piece of it.
12:53And you're going to be the front facing guy.
12:55But to Mark's point now, can you still be that front facing person?
12:59And I think about Larry Bear, where he was that for the Giants.
13:03And then the whole thing that went down in Hayes Valley with the tug of war over the cell
13:07phone, and he had to step back.
13:09And then the Johnsons took over, and here we are.
13:11So you're saying that in the court of public opinion, he couldn't continue to do the job.

14:08is, is to kind of be that, like, figurehead out in front.
14:14And when you're going to say things, for instance, this got brought up earlier.
14:18One of the mottos that he's liked to use in the past is win with class.
14:23Well, now, how do you do that now?
14:25How do you, and I'm not even saying, like, that's a marketing slogan.
14:29I'm not under the impression that everyone with the 49ers is always the classiest human
14:34being.
14:35Like, this is a football team, and there's crap going on at all times, for sure.
14:39But when you're the front facer, how do you, how do you push forward those kinds of ideals
14:46when this is now a public part of you?
14:49I think that's a challenge.

15:31no contest, which, you know, it's not that you pled guilty, but you pled no contest.
15:36And as we were doing our research, the majority of these cases in that state where it's a
15:42first time offense, you go ahead and downgrade it.
15:44And that's what happens.
15:45Like 80% of the time you downgrade it, you plead no contest, which means I don't even want
15:50to fight this.
15:51And you pay your fine and you move on about your business.
15:54So that part of it is done.
15:56And so the team basically has said, you know, the legal part of it is done.
15:59And, you know, the league itself will have to decide what the punishment is.
16:04And we were kind of joking out there about, OK, so he gets suspended for six games as the
16:09owner.
