03:11like, going to the right guy at the right time.

03:14And part of that might have been just the George Kittle drive.
03:17I call it the George Kittle drive because he caught a long one.

03:20It was like a three-play drive, and he caught a long one, and then they did something else.

03:25And then that touchdown catch was one of those where he was the only one on the television

03:32So, yeah, but I saw that stat, but, you know, to me, beware the go out to the internet
03:42to try to find the reasons why Brock Purdy didn't play great or isn't playing great.
03:47It's kind of a weird journey for me now.

03:52That stat is built to say that that's the system.
03:56The bottom line is you can't get Purdy without Shanahan.
04:00And you can't get Shanahan without Purdy right now.
04:02So, it's whether Kyle Shanahan's doing the heavy lifting or not, like, that, to me, is
04:11irrelevant at this point because they have each other to lean on, and Shanahan's got Purdy
04:17quarterback in a certain kind of way, and he does look like he's in total control of the
04:22offense.
04:22He knows exactly where Shanahan wants him to go.
04:25And my kryptonite all-off season was the eight quarters against Seattle.
04:29How are you going to combat that?
04:31And the answer was, go get Mike Evans.
04:33You got weaponry now with Kittle.
04:35And the beautiful thing about it, 62 points in two games and 29 touches in two games from
04:40a cap.
04:41You don't know.
04:42Now, when you play Seattle, and you may lose or win, now there is.
04:46It ain't going to dibs left, right, up.
04:48Now, that's how you fix that is we don't know who's getting it.
04:52I saw New England two weeks move the ball on Seattle.
04:55I damn sure know now this Niner offense if it stays intact when they do play, don't
04:59know the outcome, or be able to move the ball better than they did those last two games
05:04against Seattle.
05:04You would figure, and you did this earlier talking about the five offensive linemen, you
05:09gave them their flowers and their praise, and they've been spectacular.
05:12And, you know, Brock Purdy, he had a few pressures yesterday, but by and large, they're doing everything
05:17that needs to be done.
05:19And, you know, McCaffrey didn't have great stats as a ball carrier, but ultimately, you
05:23didn't really need it because you were efficient throwing it, and you ran it when you needed
05:28to.
05:28They only had seven third downs all day yesterday.
05:31They were five for seven on third down.
05:33They just didn't face third down almost ever.
05:36And yet, 14 to six at half for the betters.
05:39I was like, oh, boy.
05:40But that was, they were running the ball.
05:42I thought Tennessee having a little success.
05:43But Halfley was, I mean, that was his, clearly his game plan was let's limit the times the
05:48Niners touched the ball, and the Niners game plan was that's fine, we'll score seven every
05:51time we touch the ball, and eventually this will work out.
05:54But they only touched the ball twice in the first half.
05:56So you can only build so much of a lead when you only touch the ball twice.
06:01But I think they were five for five, right?

06:03They were five for five on the left.

06:06And you can look at the defense and say, you know, and we'll get into this on our show today,

06:19And Miami, a young team that is mistake prone, and they shot themselves in the foot.
06:23I'm looking here on the last drive for Miami in the first half, third and three from the

06:30And basically, Nick Bosa was being, you know, hugged and caressed.
06:34And so, all of a sudden, you're third and three, goal to go from the three.
06:38You might pop it in for a touchdown, but now it's third and 13.
06:41And they basically capitulated and ran it and then settled for the field goal.

06:49I know a couple of them were fake, but like.

07:14I mean, he was running and he was running because he had no pocket.
07:18And so it goes down as a sack.
07:20And the very next play, they, I think he lost like a foot.
07:23But I put it in my notes as a zero, but that's a sack.

08:01What he meant was, is that's on the quarterback maybe more than we give it credit for when
08:07they're sacked.
08:08That is like, we, we blame the offensive line, but I do think it has a lot to do with
08:14the
08:14quarterback.
08:15I just went Geno Smith with the Raiders.
08:17He hiked it and they were on him.
08:19I'm like, that's offensive line, but I got you.
08:21But I also watched Geno Smith in overtime yesterday just sit back there and take sacks on back
08:26to, so like the way you move the pocket, the way you get out of the pocket, the way you
08:30deliver the ball has a lot to do.
08:31It's not everything.
08:32It has a lot to do with you being sacked.
08:35And so, Niner offensive line looks great and their quarterback looks great.
08:39And that means zero sacks.
08:42And Kyle Shanahan looks great right now.
08:44So, also, after, you know, on the heels of last year's coaching job to get off to this
08:51start, don't hear a lot of criticism of him right now.
08:55I don't know how you would possibly criticize him.
08:57I mean, they beat the Super Bowl favorites like a drum.
09:01And then you come out against the youngest team in football, a team that everyone is expecting
09:05to be bad.
09:06And you never really had to worry.
09:09And you got to the fourth quarter and it was, you know, you look to the sidelines and
09:13all of your stars have their helmets off and their towels snapping and they're having
09:17water and they're yucking it up.
09:18And yeah, Miami went down and they scored a touchdown against your second string, which
09:23is fine.
09:23But you even got Jordan James in the football game.
09:26You got a healthy dose of Mac Jones.
09:28That thing was put on ice very early.
09:31Only bad thing is Robinson's high ankle sprain.
09:34Oh, this is the only bad thing.
09:36Um, James Thompson goes out.

09:39Like the, the issue with the Niner injuries so far this year is that they keep coming at
09:43the exact same position.
09:44So you've now lost three wide receivers.
09:47Count Pearsall and Mike Evans needs to be monitored at that part and the interior defensive line,
09:53which looks like the only potential hole in the defense.
09:57It keeps losing people too.
09:59So Watkinson Cowens, where you at?

10:32we'll find out later in the week, you are starting to get down to not quite the bottom of the
10:37barrel, but you're looking in that barrel and there's not as much as you thought.

11:06of McCaffrey, the first two weeks, um, is this part of the plan?

11:17I do get the sense that this is the first time Kyle Shanahan is saying he's committed to
11:27trying to keep his touches down, but I got to see it in a game that's pretty competitive,
11:32but maybe that's the thing.
11:34If they had the more games they have like this, the less you have to use him.

11:38And even if you would look at the opening drive and I'm checking my notes right now on
11:43that opening touchdown drive, he got, uh, six touches, either carries or receptions.
11:49But in between that you had Kalon black come in for two carries.
11:52So it is clearly to me that he believes that Kalon black can be a change of pace guy or
11:58somebody
11:59who can give McCaffrey, a breather, and it's not going to hurt you.
12:02So yes, later in the game, it was Jordan James who got in and he got carries and the rest
12:07of it, but on that opening drive, when it's a zero, zero game, he already was using Kalon
12:12black mid-series.

12:14That to me speaks volumes for the usage.

12:20And they scored 62 points.

13:07but even of the 52, and I know that late in the game, you, you put everyone on ice, but

13:14That is an unbelievably light load.
13:17And so the more you can do this type of thing, the fresher he'll be in December and January
13:22and maybe February, Stiney.
