00:00Here are 15 of the best Shizuku apps that I've come across in 2026, and even better,

00:04all of these are completely free and open source, so drop a quick thumbs up for going above and

00:08beyond. Let's kick things off with the banger, Shizu Core Fetch. This app is basically a whole

00:13app store just for Shizuku apps. That means you can browse through tons of them that you probably

00:18didn't even know existed since a lot of these aren't even on the Play Store. And the best part

00:22is that it's supposed to let you install everything from right inside the app, or at least that's the

00:27idea. I mean, I tried it on a few of my devices and it didn't work on some of them,

00:31so don't get

00:31mad if you get the same problem, but hey, maybe some of you will have better luck depending on your

00:35device. Luckily, each app still has a link to its original GitHub or F-Droid page right in the app's

00:41description, so I was still able to grab everything that way. And again, I mostly used this app as a

00:46discovery tool anyway to just help me find even more Shizuku apps because there's really not a

00:51centralized place to find all of them, especially since a lot of them aren't even on the Play Store.

00:55For now, this is the only Shizuku app store that I could find, and it just dropped last month too,

01:00so I'm excited to see how it improves over time. Definitely worth giving it a shot.

01:04From there, how about we upgrade Shizuku itself? I mean, there are plenty of forks out there that make

01:09it even more powerful, but lately, my go-to has been Chevery. It gives Shizuku a really nice material

01:14expressive makeover, but more importantly, it adds a bunch of extremely useful features. I mean,

01:19you can install ADB modules right inside the app, it supports Dizuku, and even after I restart my phone too,

01:25it automatically reconnects to the service, so I don't have to set up everything again.

01:29But my absolute favorite thing about Chevery is the enhanced compatibility. For example,

01:34the regular Shizuku app still doesn't properly support some of the latest Android 17 QPR beta

01:39builds, but Chevery works just fine on those builds. Just one thing to keep in mind is that

01:43with any Shizuku forks, some apps will only recognize the official version of Shizuku, so

01:48you might occasionally run into some compatibility issues. Next, if you're tired of random apps quietly

01:54running in the background, draining your battery, and using your data without you even realizing it,

01:59you can use no more background to just stop all of them. Inside of it, you just scroll through your

02:03installed apps, even system apps, and with a simple toggle, you can stop all of them from running in

02:08the background and using your mobile data. It's really that easy. Now, the only thing to keep in mind is

02:13that some apps actually need background activity to work properly and send you notifications. So if

02:18you turn off your messaging app or email app, you might miss your notifications until you open up

02:23the app again. But still, it works great. And that's just three out of the 15 Shizuku apps that I

02:33apps being released this year, I figured it was time for a brand new updated video. So give me a

02:38quick

02:39thumbs up if you want me to keep this series going every year. And if you've never heard of Shizuku

02:43before, it's basically an app that just lets other apps safely access certain system level features

02:48without knitting root. So it basically opens the door to a ton of really useful tools like the ones

02:53we're about to look at. Setting it up is also really easy too. I mean, I already made a quick

02:57YouTube

02:58short showing exactly how to enable it. So if you need help getting started, I'll just leave that link

03:03in the YouTube card so that way you can check it out after watching this one. Anyway, on to the

03:07fourth

03:07best Shizuku app and it's called ShizuWall. This one is great because it lets you block any app on your

03:12phone

03:12from accessing the internet, even when you open them up too. And even better, it doesn't even use

03:16a VPN to block them. Instead, it uses Android's own native connectivity framework. So there's no VPN

03:22slowing you down, sucking up your battery or rerouting your traffic somewhere else. I use this

03:27all the time when I'm playing some casual game that's absolutely drowning in intrusive ads. It works

03:33like a charm. If your phone has two SIM cards inside of it, you're going to love this next app

03:36called

03:37Data Sim tile because it basically adds a brand new quick settings tile that lets you instantly switch

03:42which SIM card is being used for mobile data with a single tap. So instead of digging through your

03:47settings every time, you just swipe down and just tap this tile. It's especially handy if you're

03:52traveling or if one of your carriers even has just better reception in that area so that way you can

03:57switch to it. It's super handy. Here's a super crazy one that I loved. It's called Pensum and it basically

04:02gives your Android phone that same task manager window that you find on a Windows PC. And it's

04:08especially useful for when you're using Android's desktop mode. So whether you're on Samsung DEX or

04:12Android's built-in desktop mode, you get that familiar task manager view and it works exactly how

04:17you'd expect. You can see exactly how much CPU and RAM every app is using and it neatly separates

04:23everything into running apps, background processes, and Android system processes. So if something is

04:29hogging your performance, it's incredibly easy to just figure out what's causing it. And of course

04:34you can just end tasks, which just means that you can force close apps right there too. It's really

04:39easy and it's just one of the reasons why I love Shizuku so much because you get crazy stuff like

04:43this.

05:06especially on Pixel phones, is that unlike Samsung DEX, you don't get a built-in touchpad to just

05:11control the desktop. So if you don't have a keyboard or a mouse handy, you're basically out of luck.

05:16Thankfully, that's exactly what desk control fixes. As soon as you connect your phone to an external

05:21display in the app, you can just turn your phone into a fully functional touchpad so you can control the

05:26desktop just like you would with a laptop trackpad. Plus it also lets you add a handy little dock with

05:31three of your favorite apps and it gives you quick access to the app drawer. You can even launch apps

05:35from your phone straight onto the display too. And of course, you can customize other things inside the

05:40app including the cursor speed. It's super useful if you're ever in a pinch. Now before moving on,

07:22we all know what a sleep timer is. It just stops your music once the countdown reaches zero. But what

07:27if it could turn off other stuff on your phone too? Yup, that's exactly what this app does. You just

07:32set the time that you want. And then in the settings, it uses Shizuku to also shut down other things

07:37like turning off your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, stopping any audio or video that's playing in the background,

07:43or even locking the entire phone itself. So if you forget to plug it in before you go to sleep

07:48at

07:48night, this saves you some extra battery. It's pretty handy. Hopefully down the line too, they

07:52add even more system settings and actions to it. But for now, it's a great start. From there, I got

07:58ADNS. And honestly, this has become my absolute favorite way to just block all the ads on my phone.

08:03Instead of using an ad blocker that runs a VPN connection throughout the background all day long,

08:07sucking up battery, this app simply uses Android's private DNS settings to handle everything and block all the

08:13ads on your phone. Inside the app too, it even lets you switch between different providers like Next

08:17DNS, AdGuard, CloudFair, Google, I mean, you name it. Plus, what I really love too is how customizable

08:23it really is. You can choose specific block lists. It allows you to choose certain domains to bypass or

08:29filter. You can also set parental controls and even check out stats on everything that got blocked

08:34if you're using certain services like Next DNS. And on top of all that, it's also got a nice

08:39material expressive design too. It's just a great Shizuku app overall. Now, this next one is

08:44definitely geared more towards power users, but it can also feel like a lifesaver if you're holding

08:48on to an older device that's just starting to feel sluggish. It's called Gamma and it does a couple

08:53of cool things. First off, it lets you force your phone into dose mode the moment that you lock your

08:58screen so that way you can save more battery. And the second thing that I love and is a big

09:02one is that

09:03it lets you switch your phone's graphics renderer between OpenGL and Vulkan without needing root.

09:10And that's great because normally your phone is the one that automatically chooses which one to use,

09:14but Gamma lets you force either one to just be running at all times. OpenGL is the older one and

09:20works with almost every app, while Vulkan is the newer and more efficient version. Some people have

09:25even seen lower CPU usage, cooler temperatures, and even better battery life when they've switched to

09:32Vulkan entirely. The only downside is that if you do do that, a few apps might have graphical issues

09:37if they don't fully support it yet. The nice part though is that your phone won't break if you try

09:42to

09:42do this because once you reboot your device, everything will go back to normal. Plus the developer even has

09:48a community Google sheet just showing which phones work best with each renderer. I'll leave that in the

09:53description if you're interested in checking it out. Next up is FrameX and this just gives you a

09:57floating menu that displays all your device's performance stats in real time. We're talking

10:02things like the FPS, CPU usage, RAM usage, battery temperature, network speed, and even your ping.

10:10So if you really want to see if that game you're playing is actually at the highest frame rate,

10:14or you just want to compare performance between different tasks, this is perfect. It even has a

10:19dedicated gaming mode that just helps boost performance and it cuts out any distractions while

10:23you're playing just in case your phone's built-in gaming mode isn't that great. If you want something

10:28a little more simpler though, I also found this Chizuku app called FPS Viewer. Don't worry, I won't

10:33count it towards the 15 apps in this video, so think of it as an extra addition. Thumbs up for

10:38that.

10:39But it's especially useful so you can see your phone's FPS in this really cool graph-like view. It's

10:44honestly really satisfying to watch the graph jump around super quickly as you just navigate through apps

10:49or games. It's great. Here's another simple one. It's called Custom Animator and it lets you quickly

10:54change the animation speed on your phone to exactly what you want. Sure, you can already do this within

10:59the developer options of your system settings, but those only give you a few presets like 0.5x

11:04or 1x. This app lets you use virtually any value that you want. So if 0.5x feels too fast

11:11and 1x feels

11:12too slow, you can dial it into something like 0.75x and just make your phone feel exactly how you

11:18want.

11:18It also lets you save different presets too, so you can just quickly search between different

11:22animation profiles whenever you'd like. And on top of that, it includes a built-in DPI changer,

11:28which just lets you fit more content on your screen or make everything larger depending on your

11:32preference. It's definitely a niche customization app, but if you're obsessed with tweaking every

11:37little detail on your phone, this can be right up your alley. From there, I have Shizu Call Recorder and

11:42with the help of Shizuku, it's actually the first app to just let you record phone calls in your native

11:47phone

11:47app without needing root too. And that's really useful in the States because there's still a bunch

11:51of Androids that don't support call recording natively. Once you set it up, you can record both

11:56incoming and outgoing calls through a notification that you can just choose to start or stop,

12:01and it doesn't even need to run in the background constantly to start up. Plus, you can customize it

12:05too, including to choose to ignore certain contacts, maybe just enable it for unknown numbers only,

12:09or just record everything automatically. And it even works with third-party apps too.

12:14Okay, watch this. When I'm in a bright room, my phone is in light mode. But the second I step

12:20into

12:20a dark room with almost no light, it automatically switches to dark mode. No tapping, no schedules,

12:26it just does it on its own. How? It's all thanks to the Shizuku app called Adaptive Theme. It uses

12:31your

12:32phone's ambient light sensor to automatically switch between light and dark mode based on how bright your

12:37room is. Inside the app, you can even set the brightness threshold, meaning how bright it needs to be

12:41outside before it switches back to the light theme. I've got mine set to around 1000 lux, which is

12:46roughly outdoor sunlight. So my phone only uses light mode when I'm actually outside. And then when

12:51I'm indoors, it always switches to dark mode. And don't worry, it's not killing your battery either.

12:56It only checks the sensor when you turn on the screen, not constantly in the background.

13:00And finally, we made it to what I think is hands down the best Shizuku app of 2026, and that's

13:05none other

13:05than Essentials. I've shown it on the channel multiple times now because it's just that good.

13:10It's basically a toolkit packed with so many tweaks and mods that genuinely just make your phone better.

13:15For example, my favorite feature is that it lets you enable the secret power saving mode feature

13:18found within Google Maps that only the Google pixels have. So whenever you're navigating somewhere

13:23and you lock your screen, you get a clean black and white navigation view that just saves battery.

13:28On top of that, Essentials lets you remap your hardware buttons to launch almost any action.

13:32You can add extra passcodes to individual apps. You can freeze apps that you never use.

13:37You can also create custom automations based on different triggers,

13:41remove unwanted status bar icons to clean things up. And if you have a smartwatch,

13:46it even unlocks extra features like syncing your phone's sound mode and calendar with your watch.

13:51And that's still only scratching the surface. There are honestly so many tweaks packed inside this app

13:55that it'll take me forever to cover them all in this video. It's basically like having Samsung's

14:00good luck app on any Android device. If you're only going to install one app from this entire video,
