Pixel 11 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro comes down to more than specs: it’s a detailed comparison of design, display, performance, battery life, cameras, software, and value. Both phones keep familiar looks this year, but the Pixel feels lighter and more playful, while the iPhone adds new colors, a smaller Dynamic Island, faster charging, and a bigger battery.

The comparison digs into what matters most in real use. The iPhone 18 Pro wins on raw performance, gaming, sustained power, and video tools like ProRes Raw and Apple Log 2, while the Pixel 11 Pro stands out with smarter AI features, better customization, split-screen multitasking, and useful Android tricks. Camera fans get a close look at zoom, low light, selfies, portrait control, and the new pro-style tools on both phones.

If you’re deciding between Android and iPhone, this review breaks down the trade-offs clearly. It also covers Qi 2.2 magnetic charging, battery endurance, and whether the extra price is worth it for everyday users, creators, and power users.

00:00So two of the biggest phones just landed within a month of each other. You've got the iPhone 18 Pro
00:04and the Google Pixel 11 Pro.
00:06If you had to pick one of these to be with for the next few years, which one would actually
00:10be the better choice?
00:11Let's figure that out by comparing the two. Let's start with the design looks.
00:15It's funny because both the iPhone and the Pixel haven't really changed their design this year once again.
00:19They still kept pretty much the same look as their previous predecessors with some small differences.
00:24I mean for the iPhone, it's obviously got some new colors going on including this new burgundy color and the
00:28new glacier color
00:29which I really like. It's also 5 grams heavier this time around with a slightly larger battery and of course
00:34on the front
00:34It's got a smaller dynamic island. The Pixel on the other hand also got some nice new colors.
00:38It's also 3 grams lighter. The battery capacity is a touch smaller this time around around 20 milliamp hours less
00:45Which is kind of weird. The glass on the camera bar now runs edge-to-edge, which I think looks
00:49really nice
00:49And of course, it's got this new highlight feature which basically replaced that old thermometer
00:55Which told you how hot or how cold something was. The new highlight feature is basically like one of those
01:01old LED lights
01:02from back in the days on old phones or this time
01:04It'll just light up for any of your favorite contacts that contact you or even whenever you enable Gemini
01:09But that's pretty much it. I wish they honestly allowed us to do a lot more with it
01:14And yeah for the outside of the phones including the design and the looks of it
01:18They didn't change much. So we're looking at very similar designs that have been around for a while
01:22But personally if I had to pick which one has the better looking design in my opinion, I'd go with
01:28the Pixel
01:29I mean, it's got that really nice camera bar and it just looks a lot more eye-catching to me
01:33Now if we turn the phones around and look at the actual screens both of them honestly caught my eye
01:38They look really good and the tech inside of them are also really nice
01:41I would say the pixel here has the slight edge here on paper for the specs including it having a
01:46higher resolution
01:47PPI density and also getting a higher peak brightness
01:50But honestly in real world use both displays are just incredibly bright and nearly equally viewable outdoors
01:57They were amazing for watching content and just scrolling social media
02:00I do appreciate though that the iPhone has slightly smaller bezels than the Pixel
02:04And that it also has an anti-reflective coating
02:07I wouldn't say that this is a situation where either of them looks bad
02:10They're both fantastic, they're high quality, sharp, bright, colorful, and buttery smooth
02:15I would just say each has their own advantages
02:18As for security, the iPhone still uses good old Face ID for biometric security
02:22Which by the way had its infrared camera just moved to the top left corner underneath the display
02:26Allowing the dynamic island to get a little smaller
02:29While the Pixel still uses a super fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner underneath the display
02:34And also the option to use face unlock with the front-facing camera
02:37And even though the iPhone's face unlock is a lot more secure than the Pixels
02:41I do still appreciate having that extra fingerprint scanner on the Pixel
02:44So I don't even need to look at the phone in order to unlock it
02:49Now when it comes to performance, I mean it's pretty obvious here who's gonna win
02:52Apple's new A20 Pro chip easily beat out the Pixel in any raw horsepower fight
02:57Probably by a mile
02:58I mean it always does every year
03:00For heavier tasks, gaming, efficiency, and sustained performance
03:04The iPhone is where it's at
03:06And I would say the Pixel is more geared towards what Google's software squeezes out of the chip that it
03:10has
03:11The Tensor G6 chipset is a bigger jump than what Google normally does with new chip architecture
03:16And new modem, etc.
03:19It is a shame that the graphics performance is significantly behind every other phone in this price bracket
03:23Especially the iPhone
03:25So when you play games on the Pixel
03:27They're just gonna lag
03:29Especially when you play some brutal heavy graphic games
03:32They're not gonna be as smooth as other devices out there in the price bracket
03:36Especially with the iPhone 18
03:37But while the iPhone does win the battle overall
03:39Both of these phones are swift, fluid, quick to perform daily tasks
03:43And they handle thermals really well too
03:45No issues there
03:46And if I'm being totally honest here
03:48Both of these are overkill for what 95% of people do with their phones anyway
03:52Including scrolling social media, maybe messaging their friends, emails, basic stuff like that
03:57Now for battery, even though the Pixel 11 Pro's capacity is a bit smaller this year
04:01The results have remained about the same and even better in certain scenarios
04:05Thanks to the Tensor G6 efficiency and optimization
04:08It would have been nice enough to actually increase the battery this year though
04:11I mean, that way we can actually get better battery performance
04:14Just like the iPhone 18 Pro did
04:16And that extra battery isn't too far from Apple's claims of it being somewhat closer to the level of the
04:2117 Pro Max
04:22It's great
04:23Still though, both phones could still get me through a full day on a single charge
04:27With normal everyday use
04:28And if I try to push the limit, I would say the iPhone did hang on a bit longer
04:32Of course though, your mileage may vary depending on how you use your phones each day
04:35But I did find the 18 Pro to just provide the better battery life here
04:39On top of that, the 18 Pro's wired charging speeds also got bumped up to 60 watts
04:43Leaving the 11 Pro in the dust
04:45Still sitting at half that
04:47Plus the two phones match each other at 25 watt wireless charging with cheap 2.2 compatibility
04:53And one thing these two phones actually have in common that's pretty nice
04:56Is magnetic charging
04:58So I can use the same MagSafe chargers with either one
05:01Obviously iPhones have had MagSafe for years
05:04But the Pixel 11 is one of the few Android phones that support it too
05:07Which I really like
05:08And to really take advantage of that
05:10I've been using Ugreen's MagFlow Pro
05:12The sponsor of this video
05:13This power bank is kind of crazy because it's actually the world's first liquid-cooled Qi 2 25 watt power
05:19bank
05:19Like you can literally see coolant flowing inside through this little window on the front
05:23It just looks so cool
05:24And it's not just for looks either
05:26It actually does keep the charging surface below 96.8 degrees Fahrenheit
05:30So it stays cool to the touch even while fast charging
05:33And since it supports Qi 2 at up to 25 watts
05:36It can get the iPhone 18 Pro to around 45% in just 30 minutes
05:40But if I want faster charging
05:42I've also got this USB-C cable built right in
05:44So you don't need to bring one around
05:46And it can charge your device at up to 45 watts which is really fast
05:49And on top of that
05:50This thing's got a whopping 10,000 mAh capacity
05:53So you've got enough juice to just charge any iPhone around twice
05:56Now when you're home, I also really like this nice charging station that Ugreen has
06:00Called the MacFlow Pro wireless charging stand
06:03And it looks really sick
06:04It's got plenty of amazing features like you can charge three devices at once
06:07Including my phone, AirPods, and an Apple Watch all at the same time
06:11And it's also got its own active cooling system with a TEC chip and a really quiet fan
06:16So it actively pulls heat away from the phone while it's charging at up to 25 watts
06:21Plus it keeps the magnetic charging surface as low as 52 degrees Fahrenheit which is so nice
06:25So if you want to keep your Pixel or iPhone charged up quickly
06:28Definitely check out these MacFlow Pro lineups from Ugreen
06:31I'll have their links at the top of the description
06:33Okay, now let's talk about the cameras on these phones
06:35The iPhone is sporting a triple 48 megapixel camera setup on the back
06:38And the headline feature here is that it has a genuine variable aperture on the main camera
06:43I mean it physically opens and closes between four stops from f1.48 all the way to f4
06:49Either automatically or manually if you want to play director of photography
06:53That's an actual new trick for the iPhone
06:55That wide aperture allows more light into the sensor
06:57And its variable nature gives you real depth of field control
07:00The Pixel on the other hand is also rocking a triple camera setup on the back
07:04But with a 50 megapixel main, 48 megapixel ultra wide
07:07And an upgraded 48 megapixel telephoto that hits 5x optical zoom
07:11Which actually beats out the iPhone's 4x optical zoom
07:15The Pixel can also capture night sight shots up to 4.5 times faster than before
07:19Which is a nice boost
07:21In terms of everyday shots, they're both extremely close to each other
07:23They both take extremely detailed shots and have great dynamic range
07:26I will say though there's a noticeable difference in color science
07:29Where the iPhone tends to lean towards warmer tones
07:32While the Pixel stays more neutral
07:34However, the Pixel tends to lift shadows more
07:36And overall its image processing is more aggressive than the iPhones
07:39Now when it came to zooming in
07:41While both of them did a relatively good job
07:43The Pixel did have the upper hand here
07:45Especially since it had a better periscope telephoto lens
07:47And it could zoom in a lot farther
07:50And up to 120x
07:52Which is pretty crazy
07:53Instead of the iPhone's 40x
07:55So for long distance, I'd definitely go with the Pixel here
07:58Selfies are also pretty close here too
07:59But the Pixels do a much better job with darker skin tones
08:02While the iPhone has its square shaped center stage camera
08:06For easily capturing a wider landscape FOV
08:08Honestly, I'd go with the iPhone's selfie camera
08:11Any day over the Pixel
08:12Just for that feature alone
08:13Because you can take a landscape or a portrait shot at the same time
08:17Without having to flip the phone around
08:18Another amazing thing about the iPhone 2
08:20Is that it finally got pro controls inside the stock camera app
08:23Giving you more granular control over the shots
08:26I mean this is something that the Pixels have had for a year at this point
08:28But it's still nice to have on the iPhone
08:30The Pixel 11's also got its take on photographic styles called camera looks
08:34This lets you pick and create different aesthetics
08:36Tuned to your preferences
08:37Whether you want a more natural look
08:39A warm golden glow
08:40Or minimal processing
08:41Honestly though
08:42They're basically filters
08:43And it's super similar to what iPhones have had for years at this point
08:46And the 18 Pro also got new texture control features like film and grain
08:50Adding to the looks and creative styles that you can already get
08:53For the Pixels I do appreciate that they added a new creator tab
08:56To make it even better for shooting content
08:58Like you've got a teleprompter
09:00So that way you can read right from the viewfinder
09:02You've also got magic capture
09:04Which lets you just stay in the moment with your friends
09:07And then you can just point the camera at anything and have the camera automatically take shots for you
09:11And by the way I do still appreciate the add me feature that we've had before
09:15So that nobody in your friends group gets left out of a group photo shot
09:18All in all with the cameras I think this boils down to personal preference
09:22Because both of them are really great
09:23The Pixel has made significant strides over time
09:25And continues to provide one of the most versatile camera systems out there
09:29Especially with those unique software features
09:31But when you want to take even more control over your photos and videos
09:34I would say the edge goes to the iPhone with Pro Raw, ProRes Raw, and Apple Log 2
09:39Especially when it came to video recording
09:41I mean it was just great and amazing
09:43Way better than the Pixels
09:45When it comes to software
09:46Obviously this is just a choice between whether you prefer iOS or Android
09:50And I'd say both phones are incredibly feature rich in their own ways
09:54They even give you plenty of years worth of software updates
09:56The Pixel 11 is guaranteed seven years of OS updates
09:59While the iPhone is around the same too
10:01I even made two videos showing how to customize both softwares incredibly well
10:06Which I'll link in the cards
10:07And they're both under 10 minutes each
10:09So they're a quick watch
10:10Personally though if I had to choose which software to go with
10:13I'd go with Android here
10:14I mean it has a lot of advantages over iOS
10:17It's a lot more customizable
10:18You have split screen multitasking
10:20It's got a universal back gesture
10:22And of course you can side load third-party apps
10:25Well for now of course
10:27Plus not to mention that the Pixel software is one of the smartest Android skins that you can get out
10:31there
10:32For instance, I just love using live translate to have any foreign videos that I just watched on YouTube
10:37Get automatically translated into my actual language
10:40Like I'd actually be able to hear the person's voice change
10:43I also love that when I was shopping for gifts for my brother's birthday
10:46I could just take a screenshot of a product in a browser or even within social media
10:50And it'll save the link within the Pixel screenshots app so you can open it later
10:55That way I don't have to go hunting down that website again
10:57If I do end up wanting to buy that item
10:59And nine, I always also got tired of getting blinded by apps that don't support a dark theme
11:04Like Amazon or Airbnb
11:05And on the Pixel, there's this feature called expanded dark theme
11:09Which would just force all those apps to just become dark
11:12No matter what
11:13It was great
11:14Or if I was in an app and I wanted to highlight something in a post
11:17But it wouldn't let me
11:18I could just go into the recents page
11:20Tap the select button
11:21And instantly copy that text or even that image from that screen
11:25It's super handy and no other phone does that too
11:28Including the iPhone
11:29Or if I was at a grocery store and I heard a song that I liked
11:32I could just look at my lock screen and see what song it was right then and there with the
11:35now playing feature
11:36I could even save it too
11:37In contrast, Apple is doing what it can to catch up
11:40Apple intelligence has gotten more context aware
11:42Like Siri finally knows what's actually going on
11:45Albeit not as good as Google Gemini though
11:47But it's been able to close the gap just a bit this year
11:50I also do enjoy the dynamic island
11:52It feels really useful to be able to control all my persistent notifications a lot more easily
11:56The control center is also much better on iOS too than the one on the Pixel
12:00I also do like the lock screen on the iPhone better than the Pixels
12:02Because you're able to just hide a subject behind the actual time on your phone
12:07So that way it gives it this cool effect
12:09And on top of that it's a lot more customizable
12:10Allowing you to have different profiles too
12:12And I also do like the extend feature
12:14Where you can just zoom out on a finished photo
12:16Including in the lock screen
12:17And it'll match the background space
12:20So that way it becomes a lot larger than what it was originally
12:23And there's also a nice reframe feature too
12:25Where you can just shift the camera angle within any photo to just give it a new perspective
12:29That one was also pretty cool
12:30I do have to give Apple some props there
12:32And this time around on the iPhone
12:34Apple also added a pretty wild feature called a reference image
12:37Which quietly stores an untouched verified original of a photo alongside the edited version
12:43So that a photo can actually be proven to be a real unedited capture
12:47Rather than something AI touched up
12:49So yeah a lot of great features on the iPhone
12:51But overall in the grand scheme of things
12:53I'd honestly go with the Pixel software over the iPhones
12:56Just because I do find to have more genuinely useful AI features
13:00That actually improve my life and made it a lot easier
13:03And on top of that it's just a lot more customizable
13:05Which I'm a customization person and I like to tweak things around
13:09So this is my choice
13:10Now for pricing they're both pretty expensive and around the same price
13:14The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,100
13:17While the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,200
13:21Basically a hundred bucks apart the entry level
13:23And the iPhone's the only one that can go all the way up to a two terabyte storage option
13:28Now there are some controversies going on
13:30Whether or not the Pixel deserves that price badge
13:32Especially considering how it's a lot slower than the competition when it comes to performance
13:36And especially gaming
13:38But at these base price points neither company is really trying to weigh in on cost
13:42I'm also not sure it's close enough to be the deciding factor
13:45Instead I think it comes down to ecosystem and priorities
13:48Far more than just the $100 bill
13:50In the end these two devices are really excellent
13:53And in many ways they were surprisingly evenly matched
13:57While in other ways they couldn't be more lopsided
13:59I'll keep it very simple for you
14:01If you want to shoot serious photos and videos
14:03You care about raw performance, gaming, charging speeds
14:07And on top of that you want the better battery life
14:09The iPhone 18 Pro is the easy pick here
14:11If you prefer genuinely useful day-to-day AI features
14:15You want more freedom with customization and multitasking
14:18And you want the phone that both defines and puts the smart in smartphone
14:22The Pixel 11 Pro is calling your name
14:25Personally I'm just going to stick with the Pixel
14:27Just because I am a heavier customizer
14:29And I love to tinker around with the OS a lot
14:31And the Android side is obviously a great choice for me in that regard
14:35But if Apple eased up a bit on their OS and gave the users more freedom
14:39I definitely make the switch regardless of the blue and green bubble debate
14:42I will say that in terms of specs and the features packed inside this phone
14:47This is the better device in that regard
14:49Anyway, tap this video if you want a review of the Pixel 11 Pro XL
14:52Or tap this one where I show off how I customize the iPhone 18 to the extreme
14:56Let me know which one you prefer and I'll catch you guys in the next one
15:00Kapow!
