00:00Let's go ahead and steal some of the coolest exclusive features from just about every smartphone software out there to
00:04just make your phone even better.
00:06I'm talking about Google, Samsung, Oppo, Nothing, Honor, and even Apple.
00:12For all these brands, I'll show you step by step how to get some of their exclusive features on your
00:16phone.
00:16So you've got to watch the video all the way through.
00:19Now, I actually did a video just like this last year, which I'll link in the YouTube cards,
00:22but it's time for round two because basically every major phone brand out there has dropped a whole new batch
00:27of tricks this year, and it's pretty crazy.
00:29And of course, most of them are locked behind their newest devices.
00:33Plus, if I help you bring at least one new exclusive feature over to your Android,
00:37a quick thumbs up is all I ask in return to keep doing this every year.
00:40All right, let's kick things off with the Google Pixel.
00:43In the settings, there's this little button on all the pixels and some other phones that I really love,
00:46and it's called Fixed Connectivity.
00:48And it's a complete lifesaver for when the internet on your phone just isn't working.
00:53Because whenever your Wi-Fi, your mobile data is connected, but nothing's loading up,
00:57you can just tap that button, and your Android will reset your network connection to just fix all the issues.
01:02And most of the time, it works, too.
01:04It's way faster than restarting your phone or digging through a bunch of recent menus.
01:07And the funny thing is, too, that this feature technically exists on most Android phones already.
01:12It's just that a lot of manufacturers hide it.
01:14So here's how to make it much more easier to access.
01:17You can download this app called Activity Launcher, open it up, search for Internet,
01:23expand the Settings app, tap Internet, then you can select Shortcut, and drop it right on your home screen.
01:30Now, anytime your connection starts acting up, you can just tap that shortcut,
01:33and it'll take you straight to Android's stock Internet page, where you'll find that little reset button,
01:38and you can tap it to reset it.
01:39It's super quick and very convenient.
01:41Now, fair warning, though, compatibility kind of depends on your phone's brand,
01:45but it's definitely worth a shot to see if it works on your phone.
01:48Next, if you've been following all the latest Android updates,
01:50you may know that Google is working on making voice typing just a whole lot smarter
01:54with a new feature called Rambler.
01:57Basically, Google is going to toss Gemini into the voice typing feature
02:00to make it way more natural to talk to and to have it transcribe everything a whole lot better.
02:05Like, it'll add better punctuation, understand when you correct yourself mid-sentence,
02:09remove all the ums and ahs, and then make your messages just look a lot cleaner.
02:14Well, I found a great alternative that, funny enough, almost has the same exact name, too.
02:19It's this free and open source app called Rambler, just without the E.
02:23Now, I won't give you that flashy, glowing animation that Gboard has,
02:27but what it does give you is a floating microphone button that works across pretty much any app.
02:31You just tap it once, start talking, and it uses AI to transcribe your speech
02:36into perfectly formatted text with the right grammar, spelling, punctuation, the works.
02:41And one thing I especially love is that you can actually run the AI model locally on your phone
02:46so your voice just never has to leave your device.
02:49But if you'd rather use something like OpenAI or Gemini,
02:52you can also plug in your own API key and use those cloud models instead.
02:57Next, we got Honor's Magic OS, and one feature that I really love
03:01is their built-in AI deepfake detection tool for video calls and phone calls.
03:06So during a call, the phone can push a notification to have it analyze the other person's face
03:10or analyze their voice, too, to estimate the likelihood that you're looking at an AI face swap
03:16instead of a real person, or if they're using a fake voice,
03:20maybe their voice is a cloned or a synthetic voice, it can detect that, too.
03:24That way, you can stop yourself from getting scammed.
03:27Well, there are a few apps that try to do the same thing and detect those scams.
03:30The first one that I found is this app called AI Detector Quick Tile.
03:34It basically adds a tile to your quick settings that scans your screen
03:37and tells you if whatever you're looking at, whether it be a video or a photo, is AI-generated.
03:43And yes, it works in video calls, too.
03:45The only downside is that it won't work with phone calls where it's just voice,
03:49and the other person may use a deepfake voice.
03:52It only works with images and videos.
03:54So for the voice, I had this other app called Cignet to just solve that issue.
03:58Now, it doesn't actually use AI to detect deepfakes,
04:01but it has a really clever workaround for people trying to fool you
04:04with an AI-generated voice or even a face swap.
04:07Basically, you and someone you trust, like your mom, your dad, or your best friend,
04:12you can both download Cignet and pair your phones together ahead of time
04:15by scanning some QR codes through the app.
04:18And then whenever you get a suspicious call from someone trying to act like them
04:22or use their voice, the app generates a unique four-word phrase
04:26that only their phone can see.
04:29That way, you can simply ask them to read the phrase out loud,
04:32type what you heard into your phone, and if it matches,
04:34you'll get a green light saying that it's really them.
04:37If it doesn't match, there's a good chance that someone is just trying to scam you.
04:40It's a really great idea.
04:42Okay, now let's move over to Samsung's One UI software.
04:44Samsung added a ton of awesome new exclusive features this year,
04:47but of course, most of them are locked behind their newest Galaxy devices,
04:51especially the new Fold 8 lineup.
04:53The first big one is my fan cam,
04:55and I really do think this is one of Samsung's coolest AI features.
04:58Let's say you record a wide video with a bunch of people in the frame,
05:01but afterward, you realize that you only really care about one person in that video.
05:06With my fan cam, you can just open the video on the gallery app,
05:09pick the person you want the AI to track,
05:11and boom, it'll automatically reframe the entire video around them.
05:15You can even change the aspect ratio for TikTok or Instagram too.
05:18It's pretty slick.
05:19Well, I found an app that does pretty much the exact same thing on any Android.
05:23It's called Oshicam.
05:25It's the same concept.
05:26You just load a video, enable this option called tap to track.
05:30Then you can just tap the person that you want to track
05:32while they're clearly visible in the video,
05:34and the app will begin to track them with a red box around them throughout the whole clip.
05:38Now, it's not perfect by any means
05:40because sometimes the tracker does move to a different object depending on the clip,
05:43but for the most part, it works pretty well.
05:45The only catch is that the free version only lets you export the video at up to 720p
05:50with a small watermark,
05:51and if you want higher quality uploads, including it up to 4K resolution,
05:56you need to get the Pro plan for $1.50 per month.
05:59Still, it's pretty much the only app out there
06:01that currently replicates Samsung's My Find Cam perfectly.
06:04The next Samsung feature I'm honestly pretty jealous of is task automation.
06:08On the newest Galaxy phones,
06:09Gemini can now do way more than just answer questions or open an app.
06:13You can give it a multi-step job like ordering an Uber or booking an entire trip,
06:18and it'll literally take over your phone and handle the whole thing for you,
06:22opening apps, filling out forms, doing the research,
06:25and finally, once it's done,
06:27it'll let you know when it's ready for final confirmation.
06:30Well, I actually went looking for a way to bring this to pretty much any Android,
06:34and I came across McKinley.
06:36It's got the same idea.
06:37You tell it what you want done, and it tries to make it happen.
06:40For example, I can tell it to order me an Uber to the airport from my address,
06:44and it'll launch the app with everything ready to go,
06:47so I can just hit confirm.
06:49Or I can ask it to draft a tweet up,
06:51and it'll open X with my text already written out.
06:54I can even tell it to reply to the last three comments on my latest video,
06:58and it'll do that right from the browser.
07:00Now, it's definitely not perfect.
07:02More complicated tasks can still confuse it every now and then,
07:05but considering what's available today,
07:07this is the closest you'll get to Samsung
07:09and Google's new AI task automation on almost any Android phone.
07:14Then, this last Samsung feature is for anyone with a flip phone.
07:17If you don't have a flip phone, though, just skip over to the next timestamp.
07:20Anyway, if you watched the last Samsung Unpacked event,
07:22you probably realized that the Z Flip 8
07:24now has gotten a lot better with its cover screen.
07:27I mean, it's basically turned it into an entire second OS.
07:29You get a full home screen, it can launch apps, use widgets,
07:34and you can get a whole lot more done without needing to open the phone.
07:37Well, if you want that same experience on your own flip phone,
07:41you can use cover screen OS.
07:42It basically transforms the outer display into its own little operating system.
07:46You can launch apps, add third-party widgets,
07:49read and reply to notifications with a full keyboard.
07:52You can control your music too, use quick settings, and a whole lot more.
07:56Plus, if you have an older Galaxy Flip like the Flip 5,
07:596, 7, or 7 FE,
08:02it even gives you a real home screen style layout
08:04where you can freely place and resize apps and widgets.
08:07However you want.
08:09And don't worry, this app isn't just limited to Samsung phones either.
08:12It also works on several Motorola Razer phones,
08:14some Opal Find and Flip phones, and even the Vivo X Flip.
08:17Before moving on, lately I've been in a ton of meetings,
08:20and one thing I've realized is that I hate taking notes.
08:23If I'm busy writing everything down, I'm not really paying attention.
08:27So lately, I've been using Granola, the sponsor of this video,
08:29to just help me out.
08:31Now, this isn't one of those AI meeting bots
08:32that joins your calls and announces itself to everyone.
08:36Instead, it quietly transcribes the meeting
08:37directly from your computer or your phone
08:39while you stay focused on the conversation.
08:42Of course, you should always make sure
08:43that everyone in the meeting is okay with that,
08:45but once it's running, it's a complete lifesaver.
08:47I mean, you can still jot down notes as you go,
08:49and it still transcribes everyone in the conversation.
08:52Plus, during the meeting, I can ask Granola
08:53about specific questions, like the backstory of a conversation.
08:56Maybe I want to have it come up with suggested questions.
09:00Or on top of that, I can ask you about a specific topic
09:02that we were talking about,
09:03and maybe I want to learn more information about.
09:05And then once the meeting's over,
09:07Granola grabs the notes that you took,
09:08as well as the transcript,
09:09and transforms everything into a clean summary
09:12with action items, key takeaways,
09:14and all the important details organized for you.
09:17Honestly, I probably use it even more after the meeting.
09:19Like, I can ask questions like,
09:21what tasks need to be done, and it'll do it.
09:23Or I can ask you to draft up a follow-up email
09:25based on the meeting we had, and it'll do that too.
09:27Plus, I love that Granola is super compatible
09:29with everything.
09:30Whether you use Windows, Mac, iPhone, or Android,
09:33Granola works across all of them.
09:35You can also sign in with your Google or Microsoft account,
09:37so your Google Calendar or Outlook meetings
09:39automatically sync over.
09:41Then a few minutes before your meetup,
09:43Granola reminds you that it's about to start,
09:44and with one click, you can just join right away.
09:47And it doesn't matter if you're having your video call
09:49on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, or even in person.
09:53All those meetings are covered.
09:55So if you're constantly bouncing between meetings like I am,
09:58definitely give Granola a try.
09:59I'll have the link at the top of my description,
10:01and you'll even get one month free on any paid plan.
10:04Okay, back to the exclusive features.
10:06Next, we have Oppo, and I would say OnePlus,
10:09but we all know what happened to them.
10:11And honestly, ColorOS and even OxygenOS
10:13has quietly become some of the best Android skins
10:16when it comes to clever software features.
10:18They keep adding these little quality of life tools
10:21that you don't realize that you need
10:22until you actually use them.
10:24And there are three features in particular
10:26that I really wanted on my other Android phones.
10:28The first one is Smart Sidebar,
10:30especially the AI toolbox that's built into it.
10:33Basically, you swipe in from the edge of the screen,
10:35and instantly you get a menu filled with a bunch of AI tools
10:38that you can use inside the app you're in.
10:41Like if you're reading a long article,
10:42it can summarize it,
10:43or if you're in a messaging app,
10:45it can draft a reply,
10:46or if you already typed something out,
10:48it can rewrite it to sound better.
10:50Well, I found something that gets incredibly close
10:52and it's called Arc.
10:53Just like Oppo's version,
10:54it gives you a sidebar that you can bring in
10:56with a swipe from the edge of your screen,
10:58and it's packed with a bunch of useful AI tools.
11:01For example, if someone sends me a message
11:02and I'm not really sure how to respond,
11:04I can open Arc, tap AI Writer,
11:07switch over to the Reply tab,
11:09and it'll generate a response
11:10that actually fits the conversation.
11:12You can even give it a few extra instructions
11:14if you want the reply to be in a specific direction.
11:17Then you can just insert that into the text field
11:18and you're done.
11:19Or if I'm scrolling through social media
11:21and I see a post that I'm not sure is real or fake,
11:24I can just tap fact check,
11:26crop into the post that I'm unsure about,
11:28and it'll instantly let me know if it's legit or not,
11:31which is especially useful on platforms like X or Reddit.
11:34Then when I'm shopping online
11:35and find something that I want to buy,
11:37there's even an action called find cheaper alternative,
11:39which searches the web and looks for better priced options.
11:43And if I'm grocery shopping,
11:45I can take a picture of the product that I'm trying to buy
11:47and it'll suggest better swap for me.
11:49That's just scratching the surface though.
11:51There are a ton more AI actions that I can use,
11:53even letting me create my own custom ones too.
11:56It's pretty great.
11:56The next helpful feature
11:57that I really want on my other Android phones
11:59is their mind space feature.
12:01Basically, whenever you come across something online
12:03that you don't want to forget about,
12:05whether it's an impulse purchase,
12:06maybe a cool gadget or just something
12:09that you want to come back to later,
12:10you simply swipe up with three fingers
12:12and ColorOS saves it
12:14into this little junk drawer for you later.
12:16It's especially great
12:17for all those amazing products on Instagram
12:19that you definitely don't need right now,
12:21but maybe you want them in the future.
12:23Well, the closest alternative I've found
12:25is this free and open source app called Mem Gallery.
12:28Instead of using a gesture,
12:29you simply take a screenshot
12:30and then you can share it to the app.
12:32And from there, you can attach a voice note,
12:34write your own notes or save the original link
12:37so that it'll help you remember
12:38why you saved it in the first place
12:40and where you got it from.
12:41Then once you save everything,
12:43Mem Gallery even generates an AI summary
12:45along with other useful information
12:47about whatever you captured.
12:49And because everything gets organized automatically
12:51in that app,
12:52it's way easier to search for it later
12:53when you're trying to find that one product
12:55or that one article
12:56that you forgot about weeks ago.
12:59Next, let's move over to the iPhone.
13:00The first feature that I really wanted to steal from them
13:02is this new AI photo editing tool in iOS 27.
13:06It's called Xtend
13:07and basically it lets you expand a photo
13:09beyond what the camera originally captured
13:12just by pinching outward.
13:13And it even works on the lock screen too.
13:15So Apple Intelligence can step in
13:17and can turn a vertical shot into a wide one,
13:20expand a group photo
13:21or change the aspect ratio of any image
13:24by generating the missing pieces on the fly.
13:26Now, Androids do have similar AI image editing tools
13:29like this, but nothing quite as seamless
13:31like just pinching outward
13:33and deciding how far you want it to stretch out.
13:36But the easiest workaround that I found
13:38is using Pixar.
13:39Inside the app, there's a tool called AI Expand
13:41and it gives you a very similar experience.
13:44You can extend the canvas in any direction
13:46and it'll use AI to just generate the missing parts.
13:49And the results are pretty impressive too.
13:51The only downside is that you only get a handful
13:53of free generations
13:54before it asks you to subscribe to the pro version.
13:56So if you're looking for a free alternative,
13:59you can also check out Image Extend.
14:01It focuses almost entirely on AI outpainting
14:03and expanding photos in different directions.
14:06Now, since it's free, it is filled with a ton of ads
14:09and I'd say the results aren't quite as good
14:11as the Pixar version, but it still gets the job done.
14:14Another thing I love about iOS
14:15and some Androskins too,
14:17is that it has a 3D depth effect on the lock screen
14:20where the clock can sit behind the subject of your wallpaper.
14:23It just looks so clean.
14:25So to bring that over to any Android,
14:27I've been using an app called Depth Wallpaper and Clock.
14:29It uses AI to separate the foreground from the background
14:32and then places a customizable live clock
14:35right behind your subject,
14:36giving you that cool 3D effect on your lock screen.
14:39And you can even tweak just about everything too,
14:42including the clock style, colors, fonts, position,
14:45you name it.
14:46Or if you'd rather not use your own photos,
14:48they also have over 150 templates to just choose from.
14:51The only minor hiccup is that you'll need to figure out
14:53how to hide your actual system clock on the lock screen,
14:56but I'll leave a link in the description to a site
14:58that shows you how to do it for most smartphones.
15:01And lastly, I'm a huge fan of Apple standby mode.
15:04You know, when you dock your iPhone
15:05and it turns into this sleek nightstand clock.
15:08It doesn't just show you the time either.
15:10It gives you useful widgets, calendar events,
15:12and shows you other handy info.
15:14I especially love using it as a timer too on my desk
15:16so I can easily see how much time I've got left.
15:19Well, there's really only one app on Android
15:21that does this right,
15:22and it's literally called standby mode.
15:25And honestly, it's got pretty much the same clocks,
15:28widgets, and overall the same look as Apple's version,
15:31but it actually goes even further,
15:33just offering more beautiful widgets
15:34like a system dashboard, quotes card,
15:37a to-do list, and a lot more.
15:39Sure, some of them are behind a paywall,
15:41but honestly, it's still an incredible tool,
15:43and I might even go as far as to say
15:46that it's better than what Apple offers.
15:48Now let's bring it over to nothing.
15:50They still got one of the most
15:51instantly recognizable Android designs out there,
15:53and this next feature is such a tiny detail,
15:56but man, it makes the software feel ridiculously polished.
15:59It's called the atmosphere effect.
16:01On a nothing phone,
16:02your lock screen wallpaper doesn't just abruptly cut
16:05to a separate home screen background.
16:07Instead, as you unlock the phone,
16:08the image just smoothly transitions
16:10between a clear wallpaper
16:12and then into a soft, cloudy, blurred version.
16:14It's such a subtle touch,
16:16but it feels so premium.
16:18Well, I found this FOSS app called Atmo Engine
16:20that's basically a one-to-one copy of that feature.
16:23You can use any image from your gallery,
16:25and it gives you that signature transition
16:26when you move between the lock screen
16:28and the home screen.
16:29The developer even added a reverse effect too,
16:32so if you want your lock screen blurred
16:33and your home screen crystal clear,
16:35you can do that.
16:37And my favorite part too
16:38is that you aren't limited to just one wallpaper.
16:40You can load multiple images,
16:41so every time you unlock your phone,
16:43you're greeted with a completely different background.
16:46It's honestly a super fun app.
16:47Anyway, no matter what logo
16:48is sitting on the back of your phone,
16:50at least now you don't have to watch
16:51every other company
16:52just announce a cool exclusive feature
16:54that you want and miss out.
16:56I also covered a bunch of other exclusive features
16:58from more Android softwares in my last video,
