00:00There were times when we would all three be laying in bed together when I was around four or five
00:04and he would be doing things to me in bed.
00:06My sister had been going through this for many years and so she left the four of us with our
00:10dad and she went on this like spiritual journey to go find herself.
00:14And it was during that time that my sister started to realize like I was sleeping in bed with my
00:20dad every night and there was no one in there as a barrier.
00:24So obviously that was very quickly reported. Things happened pretty quickly once that initial report was made.
00:30He was arrested. I believe he was let out on bail under the agreement that he was not to have
00:37any contact with us.
00:39So not too long after that happened, he came to the house one night and my mom and him sat
00:45us all four of us down and they said, I need you guys to go pack a bag.
00:49We are leaving tonight. And so we all loaded up in the car and the ultimate goal was to cross
00:54the Mexican border.
00:55Luckily, we did not make it across the border and they were arrested there. So then we were put into
01:00foster care.
01:01I remember specifically when we were on our trip, we're being taken into the bathrooms by him.
01:06That was kind of how he would do it a lot. And I remember when I was about nine and
01:10a half, I was at my best friend's house.
01:13Her mom asked me a question, something about like, oh, well, where's your dad? And I just made a comment
01:18like, oh, you know, my dad, he's in prison because he used to touch me and my sister.
01:22And I just still remember the look of shock on her face.
01:25And that was the very first time that I ever kind of put it together in my head that like,
01:29maybe that's not normal.
