00:00I was three years old in Detroit, Michigan, when my biological mother lost custody of me to the
00:06state. I guess there were some occurrences of her leaving me and my other two siblings alone
00:13in the home, and one of the neighbors ended up calling the police, and we ended up being taken
00:18away and placed into foster care. Unfortunately, within that time frame of me being in foster care
00:24before I was adopted at six, I experienced a lot of child abuse at the hands of my foster mom
00:31and a
00:31lot of Lassau, but it was coming from other children within the foster home. Some of the older boys used
00:38to do things to me, and unfortunately, a lot of times I was caught doing things because things
00:44were being done to me, so the way that my records or my file looked, it made me look like
00:50I was a,
00:50you know, offender as well, but it was actually because I was experiencing those things by some
00:56of the older children. That first foster home, I remember it very vividly. I just remember one of
01:02the nights, like within the first week that I was in that home, the foster mom had made some spaghetti,
01:07and I had to eat it, you know, sitting on the floor, crisscross style, whatnot, and I dropped some
01:13of the spaghetti. She went off because I guess she had just mopped her floors that day. At this time,
01:19I was about five years old, and she told me that I had to eat the spaghetti off the floor
01:25for spilling
01:26it versus her just giving me something to wipe it up or wiping it up.
