00:00DAP Central Executive Committee member Sheikh Umar Bagarib Ali has criticised past President Abdul Hadi Awang
00:08for accusing DAP of leading Pakatan Harapan in efforts to destroy Malay Muslims.
00:13He warned that Hadi was playing a dangerous political game and equating past with Islam itself.
00:19In a Facebook post, the senator maintained that DAP respected the federal constitution
00:25and Islam's constitutional position in Malaysia, arguing the party would have been banned
00:30if it opposed the constitution.
00:32Sheikh Umar also accused Hadi of repeatedly changing his political stance, pointing to
00:37his past hostility towards UMNO and more recent willingness to cooperate with the party.
00:42In a Facebook post this morning, Hadi had claimed DAP was leading PH and seeking to eradicate
00:48Malay Muslims, citing its support for local council elections and the Malaysian-Malaysia concept.
00:54He also accused DAP of opposing PASA's push for an Islamic state and the implementation
00:59of Shariah law when the two parties were previously allies.
01:03Separately, Melaka DAP leader Kirk Chee Yee also urged Hadi not to use history to divide
01:09Malaysians, stressing that mature politics should focus on common ground rather than looking
