00:27P.K.R. Deputy President Nurul Iza Anwar has brushed off criticism leveled against her since her defeat in the
00:342022 general election,
00:36saying she has faced objections at every stage of her political career.
00:40Speaking at the P.K.R. Youth Congress at the Melaka International Trade Center,
00:44the former Permetang Pao MP noted that some had questioned her defeat in GE15,
00:50while others objected to her election as party deputy president in 2025.
00:54She stressed that there were also those who disagreed with her decision to relinquish the post in 2026,
01:01adding that it was impossible to please everyone.
01:05Nurul Iza, a former three-term MP,
01:07lost Permetang Pao to passes Fawaz Jan in GE15 by a majority of 5,272 votes.
01:15The seat had long been regarded as P.K.R. President Anwar Ibrahim's family seat,
01:20having been held by Anwar, his wife Dr. Wan Aziza Wan Ismail, and Nurul Iza since 1982.
01:27Nurul Iza won the P.K.R. Deputy Presidency last May, succeeding Rafizi Ramli.
