00:00University Utara Malaysia lecturer Kamaru Zaman Yusuf told The High Court today that
00:07Hannah Yeoh's biography contradicts Islamic teachings.
00:11He said the contents of the book, titled Becoming Hannah, A Personal Journey, may confuse Muslim
00:18readers of weak faith.
00:20When asked whether non-Muslims should be prevented from discussing their religions publicly,
00:26Kamaru responded by suggesting that the book be restricted to Christian readers only.
00:32He argued that the book should have been classified under the religion category at bookstores.
00:38Yeoh's lawyer, Sanjik Kawudio, then pointed out that her book was about her personal journey,
00:44adding that the National Library had categorized it under politics and government.
00:50In 2022, Yeoh sued Kamaru over a police report he lodged against her in an article he wrote
00:57titled Hannah Yeoh, The Biggest Example of DAP Hypocrisy in Malaysia.
01:03She claimed that Kamaru had accused her of proselytizing Christianity through her politics
01:09and driving a Christian agenda.
