00:00I'm Paul Rasmussen. Severe storms brought power outages and flash flooding in Washington County
00:05last night. A downed tree on Route 50 is blamed for hundreds of power outages in Cecil Township.
00:10Heavy rain also flooded roads and some business in Cannonsburg, where West Pike Street was closed
00:16by high water. And the National Weather Service tells us this morning two to three inches of rain
00:21fell in about 90 minutes in Fayette County, northeast of Connellsville. Partial collapse
00:26of the Terenum Opera House last night is the reason why several nearby roads are closed. There is
00:31a hole in a brick wall on the third floor of the building in the 400 block of Corbett Street.
00:37Trib Live is reporting two windows on the first floor were blown out by that partial collapse.
00:42Parts of East 4th and 5th Avenues along with Corbett Street are closed as a result.
00:47A fire rescue source says, however, a complete collapse is unlikely due to the building's
00:52steel skeleton. That opera house built back in 1883. Restaurant chain Qdoba is following
00:58Chipotle in removing jalapenos from its locations due to a salmonella outbreak.

01:06The CDC says a salmonella outbreak linked to jalapenos distributed to restaurant chains including
01:11Chipotle and Qdoba is growing. Officials now say 345 people have gotten sick in 27 states and
01:18dozens of people have been hospitalized. The peppers were grown in Mexico and both restaurant
01:23chains have now removed them from their menus. The majority of the cases are in Colorado and
01:28Minnesota but none so far in Pennsylvania. Allegheny County is preparing for major Medicaid changes
01:34that officials say could leave thousands of residents without health insurance.

01:41Paul, new Medicaid requirements approved by Congress could cause nearly 26,000 Allegheny County residents
01:46to lose health coverage beginning January 1st, not because they're ineligible, but because of new
01:52paperwork and reporting requirements. In a news release, Allegheny County Executive Sarah
01:57Inamorato says the changes will also increase uncompensated care at hospitals and reduce federal
02:03funding for local behavioral health providers by more than 20 million next year. The county says it's
02:11expanding outreach efforts to help eligible residents maintain their coverage.
02:15The changes are part of the federal budget package passed last year, known as the One Big Beautiful
02:20Bill Act.
02:21Tamara Rush News Radio, KDKA. Also, County Executive Sarah Inamorato and others toured Aetna's main
02:28business district on Wednesday, touting programs focused on revitalizing downtown areas.
02:33And in Aetna specifically, we're investing those dollars in the business district gateway revitalization
02:40project to transform Bridge and Freeport streets, two of the busiest corridors in Aetna's central
02:47business district. The State Department of Community and Economic Development is accepting
02:52applications for the next round of Main Street Matters grants. That deadline to apply for them
02:57is August 31st. KDKA Sports, the Brewers beat the Bucs 4-2 last night. Game four in the series is

03:37together and actually, you know, come through through your hips and stuff like that. So I feel
03:40that's the real mental thing that you have to focus on.
