00:17so i'm sounding more nasally than normal that's the reason but thank you so much for coming over
00:23just to check out what i made for the family dinners this week if you're new and you do like

00:35we were out for my birthday so i did say i would get a wee bit of footage because i
00:39hadn't had the
00:39tea yet so this is what we had and we went to a local it's a sort of hotel with
00:45a spa and with a
00:46wee overnight stay the restaurant is actually under renovation so this was a wee kind of makeshift
00:51restaurant that they created for people still to be able to have their tea obviously while they're
00:56there but it's the same menu it's just a different sort of setup to normal i had fish and chips

01:02what's for tea had the steak pie i had a glass of wine and he had a drink as well
01:07and it was just
01:07lovely we didn't have a starter or a dessert we'd snack some things in the room being honest with
01:13you so we just had the main course but it was really tasty i was a wee bit underwhelmed when
01:18i
01:18seen mines at first but it tasted amazing and this was the view from the room we have stayed here
01:24many
01:24times before and it's right beside the sea we stay right next to the sea anyway our house you know
01:30is right by the sea but it's just nice to wake up in the morning and see that lovely view
01:35and then
01:36moving on to monday we weren't all that hungry and it was quite a busy day so days like you
01:41know busy
01:42days or you know days are not that hungry i get the soup and rolls out it's just really easy
01:47to put
01:47together and you can swap it up or change it up every single time so these are scotch morning rolls
01:53which are just lovely and the soup we had was a chicken and mushroom cream of chicken and mushroom
01:59with some croutons on the top and that's the morning rolls with ham and tomato and just a few
02:05chips on the side but do like something on the side you know whether it's a few chips or a
02:09few crisps
02:10you know something like that because it makes it feel more like a meal and if you've got crisps you
02:14can duke them into your soup as well does anyone else do that is that just me but yeah soup
02:20and
02:20rolls for monday lovely and simple and one of our favorites actually one of my favorites because it's
02:26so easy to put together and then moving on to tuesday we had these a couple of weeks ago and
02:31they
02:31were so nice i went out and got some more of them so these were the wee steak bakes and
02:36it's just a rich
02:37beef stew and it's wrapped up in a sort of puff pastry parcel and they're not overly expensive either
02:43i think these are only a couple of pounds from tesco and they were so nice and this was the
02:48hassleback potatoes you will have seen already if you watched the video recipe that i posted on thursday
02:54and if you haven't seen it yet i will put it up in the corner there so you can go
02:58and watch this one
02:59it's actually proven to be quite popular which i'm pleased about because it's such an easy recipe
03:03and we had some baked beans of course on the side and then moving on to wednesday we had fish
03:11and sauce
03:11one i haven't had for years and one that takes me right back to when i was a wee girl
03:16my mother
03:16used to buy these for my dad quite a lot he liked the boil in the bag fish and parsley
03:22sauce or
03:22fish and butter sauce so it's a real blast from the past so i made some cold cannon so it's
03:28very creamy
03:29mashed potatoes and there's cabbage and onion in there as well some buttered sweet corn and that's that
03:35fish fillet and parsley sauce and it was really really tasty but again so easy to make because
03:41it's boiling the bag fish you know it takes 20 minutes and it's done but it's really tasty or you
03:46could turn that into a fish pie and then moving on to thursday we had fried chicken and rice so
03:52it's
03:52just fried rice it's chicken sweet corn garlic there's chili sauce in there onions it's just lovely
03:59very easy again to put together i have used brown rice just because i prefer the texture of brown
04:05rice at the moment you know it's just lovely and if you haven't tried brown rice you know do give
04:10it a
04:10go and let me know what you think and i've also found this chili oil i've seen this on somebody

04:16channel and i did get it because i love anything hot and it's beautiful it's not just hot it's got

04:22lovely sort of almost burnt flavour it's just great and moving on to friday we had the tuna pasta bake
04:30and i'd almost forgotten to record this it was already out on the plate and then i said oh no

04:35forgot to record it so let me you know turn the camera on so i haven't managed to get this
04:41going
04:41out into the bowl but this is it in the bowl and it's one of our staples again just so
04:45easy
04:46to make then moving on to yesterday we had the place fillets and you will have seen these already
04:52if you watch my sainsbury's unbagging from the other day and we do prefer haddock or cod but i
04:59just got these for a wee change but yeah it wasn't our favourite it was okay for a change but
05:04i would
05:04definitely go back to the haddock next time so a wee side salad just lettuce tomato salt and pepper olive
05:10oil very simple some oven chips or i've done them in the air fryer these are in the mccain home
05:16fries
05:16which were nice the place fillet and a wee bit of lemon on the top and we also had some
05:22tartar sauce
05:22in the jar just at the side i usually put a wee jug of tartar sauce on the plate but
05:28it wouldn't fit in
05:28the bowl and then moving on to today we had square sausage stew one we have quite a lot as
05:34well and
05:35again just so easy to make and a nice wee change from a standard sausage casserole or sausage stew so
05:42i've got some very creamy mashed potato with butter milk and parsley some steamed cauliflower and that's
05:49that lovely sausage stew and gravy there which is really really tasty and i know you can't get square
05:55sausage in other parts of the world but i do have a video recipe for square sausage if you want
