00:06well hello there folks and a very warm welcome back to what's for tea and it's lovely to see
00:12you again as usual and i hope that i find you very well and you've had a good week yourself
00:17so welcome back like i said to this week's family meals it's my favorite time of the week on the
00:23channel and i know it's a big big favorite with so many of you now which i am delighted about
00:28because i love making these videos so as usual starting from monday all the way through till
00:33today which is sunday and i'll just show you what i've made for the tea or the dinner depending on
00:38where you are and what you call it so on monday as you can see we had beef and broccoli
00:45had a big
00:45hunk of beef so half of it went into the slow cooker for hours and it just fell apart and
00:51i decided
00:52to serve this with rice and also some tender stem broccoli as well so a wee bit of a healthier
00:58healthier one and that's the beef just going on the top of the rice and some parsley as well and
01:04a wee bit of teriyaki sauce or teriyaki glaze and this gave a sort of oriental type flavor oh my
01:12goodness this was amazing and wait till you see how tender this beef was so this was it here it'd
01:19been
01:19in the slow cooker on low for about nine hours or it might even have been 10 hours i don't
01:24remember
01:25exactly but it was a long long time and it produced a beautiful sauce or gravy and i just thickened
01:32that
01:33up with a wee bit of corn flour because obviously we had it with the rice oh that was delicious
01:38and then moving on to tuesday it was beautiful weather tuesday and wednesday actually but tuesday
01:45it was lovely and sunny and bright so in days like that i tend to make something like this which
01:51is a
01:51bit lighter you know more salad-y if you like lots of you call this a picky plate so i'm
01:58going to call
01:58this a picky plate so i've got some tomato and cucumber some salad leaf some danish ham some sweet
02:06corn as well some lovely creamy coleslaw and some tuna garlic mayo and sweet corn again some parsley
02:13and my favorite mccain jacket potatoes and i've popped a wee bit of butter in there and i always wait
02:20until the butter melts completely into the potato and we also had some grated cheese in a wee bowl
02:28at the side i haven't put in the plate i just wanted you to see you know that butter melting
02:33into the
02:33tatty because i quite you know i do think it's quite satisfying or is that just me and then moving
02:39on to
02:39wednesday another lovely bright day so we didn't want anything you know too heavy i was just going to
02:46make sandwiches but then i decided just to do the toasties because this bread you know is quite
02:51small bread this is the warburton's toasty so the slices are quite small so i just finished these off
02:58once i'd made the sandwiches i just finished them off in the frying pan to go nice and toasty on
03:03each
03:03side and melt the cheese because there's ham and cheese inside the toasted sandwiches with some
03:10heinz cream of tomato soup with a wee bit of pepper on top and then some cheesy watsis i didn't
03:17actually
03:17have the toasties because i had a massive lunch or this is what i call a massive lunch this is
03:23more
03:23like a tea to me so i really wasn't that hungry i just had some crackers and butter later on
03:30but this
03:30is what i had so i had a tuna mayo jacket potato a big side salad and absolutely loads of
03:37creamy coleslaw
03:38we go to a local garden center and i love their jacket potatoes but like i said once i have
03:44something
03:44like this at lunchtime i really don't fancy much later on so that's what i had and then moving on
03:51to thursday i made fish and chips and you will have seen this fish if you watch my recent shopping
03:57unbagging or shopping haul whatever you like to call it i don't like saying shopping hauls i think it
04:03sounds quite greedy and grabby but we've got some of the mccain french fries on the side which we
04:09really like i've got some mushy peas as well and that's that battered fish fillet a wee wedge of lemon
04:17on the top and then some more parsley as well so simple so easy to put together but it's just
04:24things
04:24that work really well together i love lemon on top of fish as well and then moving on to friday
04:31just
04:31using up what i've got in the freezer and we had some of these vegetable burgers in the freezer which
04:37really did need using up i was going to do beef burgers but decided just to use this instead and
04:44they
04:44are really nice just for a meat free day so i've got a crusty roll some garlic mayo on the
04:51bottom and then
04:51a few baby salad leaves and that's that vegetable burger so it's just vegetables and breadcrumbs you
04:58know nothing fancy a few slices of tomato salt and pepper on the top then the top of the bun
05:04and i made
05:05some potato slices in the air fryer just finished them off with a wee bit of parmesan five minutes before
05:11they're ready and it goes lovely and crispy on the top and then a buttered corn in the cob just
05:17at the
05:17back these are just the mini corn in the cobs from the freezer section and they're really nice
05:22this is what i had and this is typically what i like to have i call this chinese chicken rice
05:29and
05:29it's just rice there's chicken there's green onions or saibes or scallions in there there's onion garlic
05:37chinese five spice we touch of chinese curry powder and soy sauce and sesame oil as well and i just
05:44love
05:45it it's not really you know it's just something i throw together but it's just so tasty then moving on
05:51to saturday or yesterday i made a beef casserole just again using up some veg that i had in the
05:57fridge i keep all of my veg in the fridge apart from onions i just think they last a wee
06:02bit longer
06:03so we've got beef in there baby potatoes there's carrots onions as well and obviously the beef
06:08which makes its own gravy but i pop a wee oxo cube in there as well and it's just lovely
06:14and it all
06:15cooks together obviously it's a casserole and we've got some crispy bread and butter on the side because
06:21i really don't think you need anything else and that was lovely as well then moving on to today
06:27we had sausages so these are from the local butcher and they're just wee pork sausage links sometimes i
06:34get pork and beef sausages but we do prefer just the pork and i think the you know the pork
06:40sausages
06:40from the butcher is just you know they are just lovely so i've got some creamy mashed potato on
06:46the side just a few of those pork sausage links some garden peas and then i made a quick mushroom
06:53gravy
06:54or mushroom sauce just for the top just to take the dryness off the mashed potato and the sausages and
07:00i usually make baked beans you know if i'm having something like this but yeah the gravy and the
07:05mushrooms was just lovely just for a wee change so that was everything that we had this week and
