00:33NECRID – Soul Calibur 2
00:38While Spawn got to be an exclusive guest character for the Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2, every version of
00:44the game got this malevolent creature created as a collaboration between Namco and Todd McFarlane.
00:50And this would be the only game that NECRID ever made an appearance in, on account of both parties sharing
00:56ownership over the character in different ways.
01:06It's also worth mentioning that the reception towards NECRID was lukewarm at best as some critics felt he was out
01:12of place compared to the rest of the cast.
01:14Of course, fans of Spawn and Todd McFarlane felt the opposite.
01:23Hans, Gregory, Mitsuko, and Bakuryu – Bloody Roar.
01:35For the majority of Bloody Roar's short-lived lifespan, most of the cast wound up becoming mainstays from Bloody Roar
01:42and Bloody Roar 2 onwards.
01:44However, Hans, Gregory, Mitsuko, and Bakuryu were the only ones left behind at the very beginning.
02:01Perhaps it was because players weren't super keen on their transformations.
02:05To be fair, Hans and Gregory have the cooler forms out of this group, taking on the form of a
02:12fox and gorilla, respectively.
02:14As for Mitsuko and Bakuryu, we're not sure many folks are clamoring to play as a boar or a mole.

02:28Q and Remy – Street Fighter 3, Third Strike
02:32Street Fighter 3, Third Strike had quite the colorful cast of characters,
02:43but Remy and Q were perhaps the oddest characters of the bunch.
02:47Remy particularly looks like he belongs in a completely different game, something along
02:52the lines of SNK's titles.
02:54Q on the other hand, well, look at him!
03:04He's a dude with a metal mask and a trench coat that only speaks in disturbing grunts
03:08and groans.
03:09In the world of fighting games, neither of the two have ever made another playable debut
03:14after this.
03:15The most acknowledgment they've gotten have been through spin-off games, like Capcom's
03:19Teppin Mobile game, and the SNK vs. Capcom Cardfighters series.
03:32ANITA, MARVEL SUPERHEROES
03:41Yeah, we're not sure what this little girl from Darkstalkers is doing in a hyperactive
03:46brawler starring Marvel's greatest heroes and villains, but apparently, she did have
03:51a purpose at one point.
03:52During development, Anita was put into Marvel Super Heroes as a test character, likely used
03:58to help find bugs, tighten mechanics and combos, and some other things.
04:10Those who played the Japanese version of Marvel Super Heroes could unlock her as a playable character,
04:16but players quickly discovered how utterly broken she was, and we mean that both technically,
04:21and fundamentally.
04:23Anita would not appear in another Marvel fighting game after this, not even the mainline MVC series.

05:18ABOUT THREE OR FOUR MOVES.
05:20OTHER THAN THAT, HE WAS ACTUALLY A SOLID CHARACTER TO PLAY.
05:24HOWEVER, THIS WAS THE ONLY GAME WHERE SEBASTIAN HAS EVER BEEN PLAYABLE, AS THE OLD MAN HASN'T
05:31BEEN SEEN IN ANY INSTALLMENTS THAT CAME AFTER THIS.
05:42SHIDEN, DEAD OR ALIVE, DIMENSIONS
05:52SHIDEN HAS MADE AN APPEARANCE IN DEAD OR ALIVE BEFORE, BUT IT WAS ONLY FOR A BRIEF MOMENT
05:57IN DEAD OR ALIVE 2 ULTIMATE.
05:59BUT IN DEAD OR ALIVE DIMENSIONS, HE MAKES A PLAYABLE APPEARANCE AND IS ONE OF THE MOST
06:03DIFFICULT CHARACTERS TO USE.
06:05HE BASICALLY PLAYS THE SAME AS HAYATE BUT WITH FAR FEWER MOVES.
06:17THERE ARE SOME SOLID COMBOS YOU CAN PULL OFF, YET EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM FEELS OFF.
06:23IT DOESN'T HELP THAT YOU DON'T EVEN GET HIS TELEPORT ABILITY FROM HIS BOSS FIGHT.
06:27STILL, IF YOU'RE UP FOR SOME MORE CHALLENGING LADDERS, UNLOCKING SHIDEN MIGHT BE WORTH YOUR WHILE.
06:37EL FUERTE – STREET FIGHTER IV
06:47STREET FIGHTER IV INTRODUCED A LARGE HANDFUL OF BRAND NEW CHARACTERS, BUT VERY, VERY FEW EVER
06:53MOVED ON WITH THE SERIES LIKE JURY DID. EL FUERTE WAS AMONG THE NEWCOMERS WHO GOT LEFT BEHIND.
07:00THE MEXICAN LUCHIDOR BROUGHT A UNIQUE FIGHTING STYLE THAT GREATLY DIFFERED FROM HEAVIER GRAPPLERS LIKE ZANGIA.
07:11HE ALSO POSSESSED THE ABILITY TO QUICKLY ESCAPE CORNERS THANKS TO HIS WALL JUMP,
07:15A MOVE THAT VERY, VERY FEW STREET FIGHTER CHARACTERS EVER GET TO POSSESS.
07:19THOUGH HE APPEARED IN FUTURE RENDITIONS OF STREET FIGHTER IV, EL FUERTE HAS BEEN MISSING FROM THE
07:25ROSTER EVER SINCE. HE DID MANAGE TO GET A SHOUTOUT FROM RYU IN STREET FIGHTER VI, BUT CAPCOM,

07:55ONE OR TWO MAY SLIP BY THE GOALIE, BUT NAMELESS IS THE ONE WE KEEP COMING BACK TO.
08:00IN TERMS OF VISUAL DESIGN, HE IS ONE OF SNK'S COOLEST LOOKING CHARACTERS.
08:05AND YET, HE HAS ONLY EVER APPEARED IN KING OF FIGHTERS 2002, EXCLUDING THE MOBILE GAMES.

08:13WELL, THAT CAN REALLY BE ANYBODY'S GUESS.
08:16NAMELESS ISN'T TIED TO ANY LEGALITIES, AND HIS VOICE ACTOR, DAISUKE ONO, IS STILL ALIVE AND WELL.
08:23PERHAPS THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE CASES WHERE SNK JUST WANTED ANOTHER CHARACTER TO BOLSTER THE ROSTER

08:39OKAY, SOUL CALIBER HAS SEEN A HANDFUL OF WEIRDOS COME AND GO SINCE ITS INCEPTION,
08:44AND DESPITE SEEING VOLDO RETURN IN EVERY GAME,
08:47OLKADAN HAS GOT TO BE THE STRANGEST ONE-OFF CHARACTER IN THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE.
08:53I MEAN, JUST LOOK AT HIM. IT'S A DUDE WITH THE HEAD AND FEET OF AN OWL.
