00:01I'm outside Janta, Manta, New Delhi's official protest site, a day after violent clashes
00:07broke out between protesters and paramilitary and police personnel after crowds of people
00:13tried to march towards Parliament.
00:15All of this has been organised by the cockroach Janta party movement and they're calling for
00:19the resignation of India's education minister over what they call a failed education system.
00:24Hundreds of people slept through the night inside the protest site battling monsoon
00:30rains and very high humidity and as you can see hundreds of people have now spilled out
00:34into the streets surrounding that official site.
00:37The mood today is a lot less angry than it was yesterday and we haven't seen any violent
00:42clashes break out yet but that could change.
00:45We've just seen a number of police officers come out of the official site and surround this
00:51group of people.
00:52Many of them have started donning flak jackets and they're all holding what are called lathies
00:56or long bamboo sticks that they use to break up crowds.
01:00Abhijit Dipkay, the leader of the cockroach Janta party, has called for calm.
01:04He's asking people to remain peaceful after those violent clashes broke out yesterday when
01:09tear gas was used, smoke bombs, sound cannon and people were violently struck by paramilitary
01:16and police forces when they tried to break up crowds.
01:18That led to a number of people being hospitalised.
01:20Just one person I spoke to had their lower leg broken when they were struck.
01:25Yesterday, the government started engaging with the cockroach Janta party but currently
01:29there are no signs that that is still ongoing.
01:32One thing for sure though is that these protesters aren't showing any sign that they're going anywhere.
