00:00This is Straight Outta Flushing, brought to you by your local Ford stores.
00:04Ford F-150 is the official truck of the New York Mets.
00:09You mentioned how there could be a bunch of guys that could trade.
00:14I think you said like 9, 10 guys, which is not crazy.
00:17Easy, like easy to, like comfortably.
00:19Yeah, this is like not out of the realm of possibility here.
00:22Which player would you refuse to trade even if the market loves him, right?
00:27So which player is not necessarily, I'm not saying this player is untouchable,
00:31but you would personally just, you want them around the team because you're like,
00:34hey, I like the fit, maybe the future projection, maybe the age, et cetera, whatever it may be.
00:39Who's that player for you?
00:40I have one, I'm curious to hear who yours would be.
00:45We're not talking about like our untouchables, if you will.
00:49We're talking guys that are.
00:49Those guys are out.
00:50So we're taking out Soto, we are taking out Carson Vance, we're taking AJ Ewing and Nolan McClain.
00:55Taking them out.
00:56And I'll put Lindor in that category.
00:59Let's throw Lindor in that category just because he's going to be an easy pick otherwise.
01:02So Francisco Alvarez.
01:04Oh, so we have the same pick.
01:05We have the same pick then.
01:07Yeah.
01:07It has to be Alvarez.
01:09He's 24, he's hitting nukes.
01:11He's not playing terrible.
01:12The defense I'm still not happy with, but like there's just, there's too much there.
01:16I feel like even if the Mets maximize a return for him now, a return for him a year or
01:21two,
01:21two years from now could be two times if he just continues to click and put it all together.
01:27The uncertainty that outweighs, I think, the risk with someone like Alvarez or if things
01:34go absolutely terrible for him.
01:36I think there's a lot of still optimism with him and his future, given his age, like the
01:40amount of catchers are at his age doing what he's doing or something or not, you know, he's
01:44literally been top five to top 10 in baseball and every offensive metric as a catcher since
01:48arriving in the league for the most part.
01:49Yes, I agree.
01:51Defense needs work.
01:52But it's one of those things where as time continues to go on, if he can stay healthy,
01:56God willing, he'll get there.
01:57We've seen it.
01:58He was 21, 22, looking like one of the better defensive catchers in baseball.
02:02I know it's in there somewhere, Alvarez.
02:04He just, he just needs to continue to find him.
