00:00The Marcus Stroman era is officially over in the Bronx.
00:04After making multiple deals at the trade deadline yesterday,
00:07the Yankees have released Stroman to make room on the Major League roster.
00:11The 34-year-old right-hander started 38 games for New York,
00:15pitching to a 4.69 ERA with 139 strikeouts and 193 and two-thirds innings.
00:23The two-time All-Star had a player option for next season
00:26if he pitched 140 innings this year.
00:29That player option was set to be at $18 million,
00:33something the Yankees probably wanted no business paying.
00:37With Stroman now out the door,
00:39New York is expecting Luis Hill back on Sunday for his start of the season.
00:43This now gives the Yankees a rotation of Freed, Rodon, Warren, Schlittler, and Hill.
00:50Stroman will now become a free agent and will get some looks
00:53as teams try to fill out their starting rotations after the trade deadline.
