00:00All right, so we're going to switch it over now to the NFL here.
00:03We're going to punt it there.
00:04The NFL draft, do you agree that this draft is now shaping up to be a trade down draft?
00:10I'm hearing a lot of people talking about wanting to trade down.
00:13Is that how you see this draft?
00:16Yeah, I think so.
00:17I mean, when you look at like kind of the top players between, you know, five and 20,
00:22I don't think there's a ton differentiating them.
00:24And I think it's very interesting because you look at some of the higher end talents
00:27in this draft, you know, if I was just saying, you know, positions be damned,
00:31who are the best guys in this draft?
00:32You know, I would probably say, you know, you know, would probably say Jeremiah Love,
00:37Sonny Stiles, guys like that.
00:39But linebackers, running backs, they're not usually worth these top five picks.
00:43And then you've got other guys that really kind of kind of fall anywhere from five to 20,
00:47depending on whether or not, you know, teams like their fit.
00:49You know, there's a lot of high end tackles in this draft, but some say they're not left tackles.
00:53Guys like Maui Oga, Fano, people say they don't have the length to be a, you know,
00:57a left tackle in the NFL.
00:58But if you like them, you like what you see on tape.
01:00I mean, those guys are, you know, top 10 quality picks.
01:03So I think there's a lot of guys that really could go anywhere from five to 20,
01:07depending on team fit, team need, and what, you know,
01:10how their scouts kind of differentiate those guys.
01:13So I think it really does come down to value.
01:15And I think you're going to see a lot of teams move up and move down
01:17to kind of go after the guys they're targeting.
01:21Robert, help me here with this, with Ty Simpson.
01:23I watched him a year ago, and I saw one game.
01:27And I really saw the Oklahoma game there in Norman.
01:30Other than that, I really didn't see anything special.
01:34They got destroyed in the Rose Bowl by Indiana, and they even benched the guy.
01:38And all of a sudden now, he's a first-round guy.
01:41I mean, obviously, it's the position.
01:44Obviously, there's a need at the position.
01:46Even when I look at Fernando Mendoza, you know, I see probably a third-round talent,
01:50but he's probably going to go number one overall to the Raiders here.
01:54I mean, is this really the need at the position?
01:57And the position is such a coveted job for you to be able to find one of these quarterbacks
02:02that no matter what the talent level is, it seems, of these guys,
02:04they're going in the first round.
02:06Do you think Ty Simpson goes in the first round too?
02:09I do think so.
02:10And I think, you know, it's probably the bottom half of the first round.
02:13But I think just because of that positional value,
02:15I think he's going to always go there.
02:17You know, you pointed out a few things, but I do think that on his pro day,
02:22I think he did impress a lot of scouts with his arm strength.
02:24I think it is a little bit more.
02:25He's got a little bit more zip on his throws that I think people give him credit for.
02:28He's obviously processes his reads pretty well.
02:31But yeah, he's been very inconsistent.
02:33And you've got to see that, you know, he's around such high-level talent.
02:36You kind of expect it a little bit more from him maybe down the stretch.
02:39But yeah, I mean, just because of how much value the quarterback position brings
02:42and the fact that there's not that many high-tier quarterbacks in this draft,
02:45I think someone's going to reach on him probably in the back half of the first round.
02:49I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of those quarterback-hungry teams
02:52at the top of the draft trading up from the top of the second.
02:56Is there a guy in this draft that you love?
02:58Like, for me, it's Sonny Stiles.
03:00I mean, I saw this guy at the Combines, man.
03:03Holy cow.
03:044'4", 3'6", 5'2", 250 pounds.
03:07And then when you match his tape up, too, because Mario Cristobal from Miami,
03:11obviously the Canes played against him.
03:12He said this guy was all over the field.
03:14Maybe not the best run support guy, but he's so versatile in learning the position.
03:20He was a safety initially when he went to Columbus.
03:22That's kind of my favorite guy.
03:24Do you have a guy in this draft that you like?
03:26Yeah, I mean, like I said, him and Love, I think, are two of the best throwing out positions.
03:33Him, Caleb Love, sorry, Jeremiah Love, and Caleb, I think,
03:38are the three best overall prospects in this draft.
03:40And it just comes down to positional value and how teams, you know, think,
03:44how much value can you put on a safety?
03:46How much value can you put on a linebacker, today's NFL?
03:48But I love those guys.
03:49I also love Mansoor Delane.
03:51I think if you just look at a shutdown corner, the traits he brings,
03:54he's, you know, he's going to be starting from day one, and he's going to be fantastic.
03:57You need high-end cornerbacks in the NFL nowadays.
04:00So I could see even Mansoor Delane going close to the top five.
