00:00There are a lot of people that claim to be in the know that say that Ty Simpson, the Nebraska
00:06quarterback, is very quickly leapfrogging a lot of dudes, not just into the first round, but maybe into the top
00:1310, maybe into the top five.
00:14Now, the rub on Ty Simpson is that he had some type of sickness or illness or injury where he
00:20lost like 35, 40 pounds and was a different guy.
00:23And if you look at his tape late in the season, when he got back to his playing weight and
00:27his health, he's a much different quarterback.
00:30So here's what's interesting.
00:32Ty Simpson yesterday, only quarterback at the Combine, that when asked about some of the teams that might want to
00:37draft him, came out and said, J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets.
00:43He did.
00:44No, he did.
00:44That's my guy.
00:45He shouted out Eric Glenn.
00:46That's right.
00:47He did.
00:47He shouted out, like, I have to give that kid credit.

00:50I have to give him credit.
00:50He owned it.

00:53And not afraid of it.

01:20Okay, let's pretend for a second that Ty Simpson is a better quarterback prospect than Fernando

01:27Did not have a better year.

01:29But let's just pretend.
01:30And let's say that the Las Vegas Raiders fool everybody.
01:35And they do not take the guy we all think they're going to take, which is Fernando Mendoza
01:39out of Indiana.
01:40All right?
01:41Yeah.
01:41Let's pretend for a second that the Las Vegas Raiders take Ty Simpson.

01:47As the number one overall pick, he's their future quarterback.
01:49And now Fernando Mendoza's there.
01:52Yeah.
01:52I'm the New York Jets.
01:53Mm-hmm.
01:53I'm in desperate need of a franchise quarterback.
01:57Do I take Mendoza or do I get scared off by the fact, why didn't they take him?
02:03And if they know something that maybe I don't know, or maybe we know the same thing, certainly
02:08possible, why would the Raiders, after months of us all believing that Mendoza's going number
02:14one, and no one's going to argue that, by the way, based on his great final year in college
02:19in Indiana, if the Raiders were Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time, if the
02:25greatest quarterback of all time says Ty Simpson's going to be a better pro than Mendoza and they
02:31take Simpson, then as a Jet fan, do I take Mendoza or do I get scared off by the fact
02:38that Tom Brady,
02:39I don't care that it's the Raiders, Tom Brady's making that pick.
02:43Nobody knows better about a young quarterback and his prospects of being a pro quarterback
02:48than Tom Brady.
02:50If the Raiders don't take Simpson, or do take Simpson, and Mendoza's now sitting in my lap

03:51If I respect the guy picking ahead of me, and he doesn't take a certain person, then I got
03:57to be concerned, am I the sucker that's going to take the wrong guy?
